The Demons They Forged is a novella that bridges the gap between books 2 and 3 of the Gothic Grove series, giving us a peek into Kallen's head, and lots of steam to make up for the time she's been away from her mate(s).

You do have to read the series in order, this one happens around the same time as book two, but it's Kallen's side of the events. It doesn't feel repetitive, just gives us some little nuggets of info we've been missing.

I love how she's creating her own "coven" of sorts, with Demon, Dios, Jax and possibly Harrow? Fun times are ahead!! There's steam in almost every chapter, so it's the steamiest book yet.

I do wish it was longer though because I haven't had enough of Kallen!! She does what she wants, whenever she wants, and has zero regrets. She's my kind of girl.

I can't wait to read the next book, which is coincidentally out on Orthodox Christmas soooo it's like a Christmas present for me from JA George woop woop.

If you haven't started this series yet, you should, it's perfect for spooky season.

Another perfect entry to the dark world of Gothic Grove. The way the Lore is unveiled in this series is so fulfilling!

This series was created to be obsessed over! The interconnected stories and references between books feel so satisfying when you connect them together!

I truly love an author who does this rather than the easier way of explaining everything every time! The overlapping parts could have been copy pasted here and this could have been a bigger book! but we get just the right parts to fill over from the other two books - it’s like JA silently telling that she trusts her readers!

This book is kinda fun though! both books before this were a bit darker in tone, especially with the mental health aspect. But, this is the story of let’s say an anti-hero of sorts, so..expected!

Things get together quite beautifully in the end with where we left off in book 2. It sets up the future of the story quite strongly! I cant wait to get into the next one!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶🌶🌶🌶

✨ Dark paranormal romance
✨ Fated mates
✨ Witches, shifters, vampires, he!! beasts

I’ve been desperate for more of Kallen and this novella did not disappoint. It is filled to the brim with oodles of spice, spice galore if you will. Kallen and Demon has great chemistry and balance each other out without tempering Kallen’s independence/ unhinged nature. It was great to see more of Dios and Jax. I’m dying to learn more about Dios (he’s still such a mystery), though I still think Jax is a bad brother to Ava. Im so excited for more from Dios, Jax, and Harrow.

Overall, if you’re already a Gothic Grove fan like I am you will be obsessed with this novella. And if you haven’t read Gothic Grove yet what are you waiting for, this series is so freaking good!

✨ “You want to challenge me for my position here? Fine. But you utter one thing about Kallen and I will rip your Fing throat out. Then, for shits and giggles, I’ll F her on top of your dying body.” ~ Demon.
✨ It’s always the ones who have the most responsibility who need the act of submission, isn’t it? ~ Demon (Isn’t that the truth)

I liked this one, but I also preface this review with saying novellas are hard for me to rate & also this came on the heels of HITC which had me in an emotional chokehold. Novella format doesn't allow for that kind of depth, so I just didn't feel as connected to the characters. What I did enjoy was the lore drops on Kallen's past and little tidbits about Demon. Also, if you love early & high spice, you'll enjoy this novella.

Feral

This novella is absolute fun feral smut! I love a spicy novella, and this one is feral chaos and right up my alley! It’s so weird how the universe works and how well this book fits into a tiny niche of books I’ve been currently reading! Highly enjoyable read!

feeling better about the series

I finished Heavy is the Crown feeling like I was missing information. Now that I’ve read this one, I feel so much better. I am so invested in these characters, I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I never thought I would like Kallen; let alone love her! She is a complete badass and I wouldn’t change her one bit. She takes the good and bad from her past and pushes forward!

If J.A George writes it, I’ll read it! I was doing a reread when I realized I’ve never reviewed it. So here it is.

I LOVE KALLEN! She’s such a badass and her story is powerful. She is powerful. A perfect novella to add to the gothic grove universe and story line.
