Until she wasn’t.

Framed for a crime she didn't commit, Catrin finds herself stripped of her rank and cast out of the only home she's ever known. Now, she's just another face in the crowd—a down-on-her-luck air manipulator who makes her living solving problems in a city where enhanced humans maintain a fragile peace.

But when the powerful leader of the Enhanced Council is murdered, Catrin's quest for justice draws her into a dangerous power struggle between rival factions. With her family implicated in the crime, Catrin must navigate a treacherous world of enhanced politics and hidden agendas to clear their name. Pressured by both sides to find the killer, she forms an uneasy alliance with Bryce, the victim's enigmatic son.

As they race against time to uncover the truth, Catrin realizes she's stumbled upon a conspiracy that goes deeper than she ever imagined. In a world where the air itself can become a weapon, Catrin must use every trick in her arsenal to clear her name and stop the murderer before the city she loves falls into chaos.

There are other minor characters as well not mentioned within this review which make this wonderful story possible.

As a reader, ever felt like you aren’t truly seen or understood? After having reached out asking or even begging for “assistance” or “help”, then left hanging from a 40 ft. ladder? Well, our wonderful author has not only captured this, she has gone one step further and wrapped it in a bow by throwing in a relationship as well as a dream job to show redemption is available from grief, anger as well as the hopeless of the loss in this can’t but down story!

Also, can’t forget besides the gifted writing the reader is also entertained through the witty character quotes as the reader navigates this cat and mouse story. An ending this reader honestly did not see coming! Seriously can’t wait for the next book pertaining to these wonderful characters! So, as a taste of what is in store here are some of this reader’s favorite quotes from this fabulous story, “Do you want my help, or should I go back to my regularly scheduled programing of nursing this killer hangover” “But theory and reality are two very different things… they’re all just Band-Aids o a much deeper wound.” “It screams “I don’t belong here” louder than your perfectly aligned teeth.” “Like a leaf on the wind, watch how I soar… right into trouble.” “Nothing like the threat of impending danger to lull you into peaceful slumber” “Thanks for… you know not poisoning my drink or anything.” “Opps, forgot my complimentary prison soap. Be right back.” “I bet he’s been circling the block for hours, waiting for me to emerge from my little timeout.” “I bet he’s been circling the block for hours, waiting for me to emerge from my little timeout.” “A “Congratulations on Your First Arrest” cake?” “Does she also have a functioning engine with this character?” “I had to solve three riddles and fight a dragon just to sit next to the Duchess of Napkins.” “Like a baby in a war zone.” “It was like trying to replace a supernova with a matchstick.” Until the next story “Would You Rather” kiss a handsome man or with your audio book in hand as well as “Go Bag” take a trip to the unknown and let your imagination go with an unknown element?

**ARC Reader - All opinions are my own**

Catrin Ayre has lived a life of purpose, service, and dedication. As one of the most decorated Leitenants of the  Intervention team of the Aerial Division, Centerville’s Enhanced Operations enforcement force.  In a world where humanity has changed, where part of the global population is now Enhanced, Centerville stands as a beacon of hope in enhanced and non-enhanced relations.  Keeping civilians both enhanced and non-enhanced safe has always been Catrin’s calling and mission, and she’s one of the best, if not the best there is.

As an air manipulator, and an extremely powerful one at that, Catrin has the ability to harness air currents around her for defensive, offensive, and even mobility usage.  Like anything in the world, enhanced abilities come in a spectrum of intensities, as well as natures. Some are elemental, like Cat’s, others based on energy, with still others that cover just about anything you can think of.  Catrin’s air manipulation ability is incredibly strong though, she might be one of the strongest air manipulators that’s ever lived, and she’s dedicated her life to serving the city and its people.

Six months ago, however, there was an…incident.  In the middle of the bustling and affluent Tech Corridor, a rogue enhanced with the ability to cause earthquakes had been on a rampage, endangering the lives of hundreds of citizens as well as causing millions in damage.  In a split-second decision with debris falling toward innocent bystanders, Catrin’s updraft saved the day, but not without consequence. This incident would cost Catrin her career, her rank, her position of the Aerial Division, and her ability to make use of her powers (which would be akin to not being allowed to use your right arm anymore), a fall-from-grace that was televised live for all of Centerville to see.

Now Cat’s just trying to make ends meet and keep food in her fridge.  As a small-time private investigator, she’s barely keeping her head above water, while being plagued with memories of “the incident”.  Isn’t life grand? When the crown prince seeks her out for help in a covert mission that has implications all the way to the top of enhanced and non-enhanced society, her history with him and her fall make her wonder if she should be bothering at all.

“Fallen Ayre” is the first book in T.S. Devon’s “Catrin Ayre” series, and urban fiction masterpiece of technology, fantasy, and action.  The characters are engrossing, the romance is steaming, and the intrigue is simply too juicy to put down.  This book is an absolute romp from beginning to end, and I’m really looking forward to the rest of the series.  10/10!

I’m hooked. Enhanced individuals. Urban Fantasy. Spot of romance. Action. And a cat. Honestly I enjoyed this more than I thought I would however considering my love for superheroes it’s not surprising. The writing style was perfect for my tastes. Top quality banter between the main characters and I absolutely loved the ‘What the heck is going on?’ Puzzle driving the MCs.

Catrin Ayer gave me strong Jessica Jones vibes with a lovely sarcastic undertone to almost everything coming out of her mouth. Bryce Alexander on the other hand felt like the complete opposite to her and I was living for it. Definitely a good read. I’m dying to know what happens next. Filled the Crescent City void I’ve had in my life for sure!

“Next time, don't get caught because two is better than one.”

Good skies, what a great book! This book has a more modern Crescent City vibe to it, fantastic banter that made me laugh out loud several times and a romantic crime stopping duo that reminded me of Beckett and Castle from that TV show. I thoroughly enjoyed the character development although at times the plot seemed to be a bit slower, the banter continued to make this book an exciting and engaging read. I looked forward to picking this book up to read it and was engaged from the moment I started. Highly recommend!

I loved this book more than I expected. It was a nice surprise and I can’t wait to read more. I love the female lead, Catrin. She isn’t perfect but she definitely is talented. Loved the interplay between her and Bryce. They definitely grew from the beginning of the book until the end. The story develops nicely throughout and keeps you guessing and engaged. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Thanks T.S. Devon for this!

Good start to this urban fantasy series. Catrin is a great character, a little bit broken by her past, like all the best heroines! I really enjoyed this, and after that ending, I'm looking forward to the next installment!

Fallen Ayre is a dystopian story where the reader is trying to figure out how the mystery ends. I want others to read this book so that we can discuss possible scenarios. Hopefully, there is a book two because I need to know more.

I was immediately hooked on Fallen Ayre! Catrin is an amazing FMC with her determination and creative techniques, using her skills to resolve every challenge. Her counterpart, Prince Bryce, is everything you would want in a man, except he is her ex boyfriend AND her new employer! And yep, she gets him into all sorts of mischief! Have fun reading it! I did!!

I liked this book. Catrin is a strong FMC. She is determined to overcome any obstacle in her path. Bryce is determined to get her to help him investigate. The chemistry between them is fire.
The story becomes more about political corruption and upheaval. The way it ended was satisfying for me. If you enjoy that type of story then you'll love this book.
