Demon Bound #2

Inviting Bedlam

Rate this book
Ivan Kozlov doesn’t make mistakes, no matter what his brothers might say. Mistakes in his world mean death. So while he may have summoned the wrong sort of demon to aid him in cementing his empire, binding himself to the creature with an irreversible contract, that doesn’t mean he can’t make use of him. Except the seductive incubus he’s summoned seems to want more from Ivan than just a piece of his soul. Nix wants Ivan’s body, his desire, his faults and his regrets. But giving those things to him would be a mistake. And one Ivan might never recover from.

Nix has been waiting to be summoned again for ages. And while he might have had to trick his handsome mob boss to make it happen, he’s not going to waste the opportunity while he has it. Only now that he’s here, he doesn’t just want to stay in the human realm. He wants Ivan—his greed and his rage and his lust. And if Nix has to fix Ivan’s life to make that happen—if he needs to handle the dangers in his business, mend the broken bits left by Ivan’s father—then that’s what he’ll do. Even an incubus can be useful to a mobster, if given the right incentive.

Inviting Bedlam is a heated, MM paranormal romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger. It contains a repressed, controlling mob boss and the naughty incubus determined to make him crack, brothers who won’t communicate, more demons than Ivan asked for, and a pair of panties Ivan would like to set on fire. While each book focuses on a different couple, the series is best enjoyed in order.

I wanna be Nix when I grow up.
I'll expand.
Nix is in tune with his emotions, is empathetic, perceptive and has impeccable taste. He also knows when to push and when to step back. And he is a sexy lil' horndog.
Ivan needs him like he needs air even when he's performing this toxic masculinity shit he's been programmed to do by his a-hole dad.
I loved how Nix made space for Ivan to heal, to change and to seize control of his own life. Loved how the brothers mended ("mended") their relationship.

Demon incubus + human mobster, Russian mafia, some conflict between said mobster and the men who betrayed him, lots of sex, cameos from previous MCs, HEA.

Nix and Ivan had no real chemistry. I was more interested in the relationship between Ivan and his brothers, but even that was reduced to a few grunts and glares.

Nix was a cutie, but it wasn't enough.

I want the vampires back.

Really enjoyed this one!

Nix was suprisingly well-adjusted and had a super healthy mindset, especially when it comes to relationships and knowing how to be what his partner needs. He is such a caretaker and I loved how he helped Ivan begin to heal after a lifetime of trauma.

I swear I cried my eyes out at THAT part.... I felt it was coming but I was still shocked and upset!

I also love how Ivan is building bridges with Sascha and Alexei - you could always tell he loved his brothers, he just couldn't escape the toxic bullshit his dad filled his brain with, so it was so nice to see.

Cooper and Chaos have me incredibly curious now too - I feel like Chaos is truly going to live up to his name and I cannot wait to see what happens!

I loved Nix. But other than that, everything was more or less the same as other Grae Bryan's books. Plus, connection and love between Nix and Ivan was less convincing than with other pairs

Grae delivers another cracker

I love me a good redemption story and when that's coupled with a paranormal twist with an incubus demon, we'll that just makes it even better.

Nix is such a likeable character and he bowls over mob boss and previous big meanie Ivan with ease. The uptight and seemingly ice cold head of the mafia has already seen both his brothers bail on him, and he's got a mole to deal with, when he figures he'll summon his own handy demon warrior.

What he gets is a lavender skinned charmer who slowly crushes all his frozen exterior to reveal the burning hot core inside.

Loved all the guest appearances too, and I'm very much excited for book three!

Grae Bryan reminds me of if Saxon James wrote paranormal MM. it’s easy-reading, low-angst fun that’s usually funny, sassy and a bit fluffy. I LOVE IT.

Is it winning any literary awards? Maybe not. But it’s a fun time and that’s all I care about.

Nix and Ivan were scrumptious. An emotionally repressed and touch starved mob boss paired with an incubus?! A very tasty morsel indeed and quite possibly my favourite of her books to date.

There was just something soooo perfect about flamboyant Nix and his radical acceptance of all Ivan’s jagged edges that soothed my soul. He truly is perfect for him. And the constant push and pull over who was in charge in their relationship I really enjoyed.

Ivan stared back at him. “You’re filthy,” he told him, wanting it to come out as an admonishment, but only too aware he sounded fond and indulgent.
“I am.” Nix grinned at him. He was clearly hard in his leather pants, but he made no move to address it. “It drives you crazy, doesn’t it, darling?”
Ivan didn’t even know what they were talking about anymore—the blow job, the filth, Nix himself. But he gave the only answer he could.
“Yes.”

I also loved Ivan having a mini redemption arc here. He doesn’t entirely change his spots but Nix definitely opens him up to being his more authentic self and it was so nice to see that reflected in his relationships with his brothers.

Anyway, OBSESSED.

Just a perfect ‘no thoughts, just vibes’ book.

Ooo Nix is a good time and exactly what Ivan needed to break out of his self imposed fortress. Once he finally let go? There was no going back for him.

Although I did love that he was possessive from the beginning, and Nix baby was able to give him exactly what he needed.

4.5 stars for me, rounded up here!

This was a fun, steamy romance for our third Kozlov brother, Ivan, and the incubus he summons. While I think you could read this on your own and get through it, I think it will make SO MUCH MORE sense if you read the Vampire series first, so you can meet Alexei and Jay (also b/c Jay is the very best and most adorable) and then the previous book to know Sacha and Kai. (Also loved the cameo of Wolfe and Eric!)

Ivan has seen his brother summon a demon and is aware of paranormal beings, so he summons his own demon to try and help bring order and safety for his mafia crime family. I adored Nix and his IDGAF attitude, and how he brought out gentleness and love in Ivan. These two were just so, so right for each other.

Really enjoying this whole world of vampires, demons, and their mates. I think Grae has really done a great job with how interconnected this series and her previous one are. We always get new characters that I want stories for!

The audiobook is amazing, Michael always does an amazing job. Will definitely be eager for the next one to be out in audio!

"Nix had been serving humanity for centuries - offering up their wants on a sliver platter in exchange for tiny morsels of their souls - and now it was his turn to get what he desired.
He was keeping this mess of a human for himself."

OMG I loved Vanya and Nix!!! Those two were so much sweeter than I expected. I'd even go so far as to say they were adorable if you can believe it. Vanyna (aka Ivan) was so much more than he appeared to be in both Sacha and Alexei's books. I shouldn't have been surprised. Grae Bryan is the queen of the redemption arc (I'm looking at you Lucien!) and has the skills to pull it off every time. How I could feel bad for a man who shot Alexie in front of his beloved Jay is writing witchcraft for sure.

Nix was such a fun demon and it turned out he was exactly what dear Vanya needed in his life. He may not be the huge warrior that Vanya meant to summon, but that didn't mean he was useless when it came to Vanya's enterprise. As someone who is often thought of as paranoid, being able to know who to trust was priceless in Vanya's violent world. More than that, it was lifesaving to know who you shouldn't turn your back on for fear of a bullet being put there. What was surprising was that it wasn't just Nix's reading people skills that were helpful. Nix was a caretaker at heart and Vanya had never in his 40 years of life ever had anyone want to take care of him. Not even his own mother.

It was lovely seeing Vanya slowly let his walls down with Nix. He was the first person Vanya had ever been vulnerable with, and Nix did not take that for granted. Knowing how much if hurt him to feel the loss of his brothers, Nix even went so far as to try and help mend their rift just to make his human happy. It was shocking, yet obvious to Vanya's brother's that Nix was a welcome and needed influence on him. It made me smile to see the brothers finally getting a glimpse behind Vanya's cold mask.

Nix isn't the only demon present in Vanya's book. Not only do we get to see more of protective Kai, but Chaos makes an appearance as well. Even Nightmare has a tiny part to play! To be honest, Nightmare comes off completely weird and creepy which means I cannot wait for his book! But before we get to him, we have Chaos and his shy twink next in Calling Chaos!

“You’re like a disease. You’ve infected me, and now there’s no getting out”.

Those panties deserve to be burnt for eternity

Well, this book brings us a grumpy mafia boss with more baggage than a luxury airport terminal, and one mischievous incubus determined to unpack it all! 😏 Seriously, Ivan’s family issues could make a therapist cry, but don’t worry, his demon-summoning skills are just as questionable 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Watching him fumble through his “oops, wrong demon” moment while Nix is there like, “Yeah, you’re stuck with me now,” is priceless.

And let’s talk about those panties Ivan wants to set on fire—honestly, same, dude. 😂 But I gotta say, it was heartwarming to see the sibling drama finally sorted out. Family healing through demon contracts? Not something you see every day, but here we are!

The best part? Watching Nix slowly tear down Ivan’s walls with a mix of wickedness and charm. Ivan's trying so hard to stay composed, but when you're dealing with an incubus who seems more invested in fixing your life than you are, resistance is truly futile. Oh, and of course, mafia boss mommy and daddy issues, because what’s a mob romance without a touch of childhood trauma, right?

So, if you're in the mood for a steamy, demon-fueled ride with some family bonding and hilarious moments, this one’s for you!

Book three, Chaos and Cooper’s story is next in line, and I’m very intrigue by those two. Also, really wanted for Sergei not to be the traitor, but we can’t have it all, right?

Also, who would summon Nightmare? I can’t wait!

Oh my GOD.
When we first met Ivan in Johann, I was so damn curious about him and his relationship with his brothers. As we got even more information about him and his bonkerness in Wreacking Havoc, I was SO hoping we'd get his story next and Grae must have read my mind because this book was EXACTLY what I was hoping for.

I loved seeing the behind the scenes of Ivan and his role in the mob as you get more information about him and why he's so cold to his family and why Sascha is babied and the reason why Alexei ran.

But Nix? Oh my god Nix. He was so amazing and I'm thrilled Ivan got a incubus because holy was Nix absolutely everything. His sass, his flirting, and the WHEW, the PANTIES? I so enjoyed seeing Ivan eventually crack and show Nix how much he's madly in lust with him and as time goes on and they're forced together longer and longer, how that turns to love.

When they're pulled apart, I was like NOOO but it actually was perfect because you see just how insanely desperate Ivan is to get his demon back. I honestly cannot WAIT for Nightmare to get his own book, which will be the last one sadly and I hope, I HOPE its with Matteo!

Losing and finding control

In just the right way this story follows Ivan as he summons his own demonnand what changes that makes for him and the family. In the first book Ivan was almost the villain, being as strict and cold as he is and being one of the people that Sascha was sure would kill him for failure. When we get to see things from Ivan's point of view it turns out that he is much more complicated, plenty cold but also protective, and going about everything in the wrong fashion.

Ivan was the first born and was thoroughly raised to take over the family business, and the family. While he wants to see his brothers safe, he was also raised that the only way to have them safe was to keep them completely controlled in fear and respect of him. With Alexei leaving the first part of that control was shown as weak, and then when Sascha summons Kai it seems to him as the final betrayal. Ivan was so warped by their father that he cannot see that the fear has left Sascha and Alexei worrying that Ivan himself is a threat, and the way he acts only seems to solidify that.

Ivan summoning Nix is at first only another failure in a series of them. Ivan wanted a strong warrior, someone to stand firm as a threat and to follow through with impossible odds. Instead with Nix he gets someone who seduces and manipulates. Nix is not above using that manipulation to his own advantage at first as he wants to stay in the human realm, soaking in humanity and all of their emotions. But Nix is drawn to Ivan and soon finds himself wanting to sort through the tangle that is Ivan's emotions. Nix draws out from Ivan his true wants, the things that survived his brutal childhood under his father. Nix also shows Ivan bit by bit that the ways he has been taught to have that future have only driven him further from it. All the while Ivan gives Nix his full attention and emotions, as his cold mask does not hide them from the incubus and helps to figure out what is going on. They really fit together, even when they have to fight to prove that to others.

This was definitely a book that journeyed along through some dark places, with Ivan still willing to kill to protect what is his and to reshape his path. But it also gives more hope for the Koslov family as they finally get the chance to communicate without past threats hanging over them and they figure out what they can be to each other without the spectre of their father. A really great read with promise for more from the series!

Well, I do love a good villain redemption story, so here we are. I really really do enjoy this series, haha.

Though, to be fair, I always suspected that there was more to Ivan than the cold, controlling asshole he portrayed himself to be. And I was right. He feels so deeply and is basically one big ball of trauma. Repressed and touch-starved and attention-starved. Nix is perfect for him, to be honest. He's fun and, yes, hot and sensual and mischievous, but also very intuitive and intelligent in his own way. He's instantly loyal to Ivan and so good at giving him what he needs. He also works to help Ivan find his way back to his brothers. He makes his life better and brings out his softer side.

There are also fun cameo's from the Vampire's Mate series, besides Alexei and Jay. (Hiiii Wolfy you magnificent psycho you)

Really enjoyed this one and can't wait to continue with Cooper and Chaos' story. Unhinged, feral, twink-ish demon and shy, anxious human? Hell yeah!

This was a fantastic sequel! We met Ivan in Wreaking Havoc and he did not endear himself to me at all; however, the way book 1 ended I just HAD to know how our lovely incubus was going to rock his uptight world! And oh boy did he deliver ❤️ he was perfect for Ivan and helped him through what he really needed help with and I loved the brothers taking baby steps to a better relationship with each other too! I’m looking forward to the next ones.

Grae Bryan’s books always hit the spot for me, but this might actually be my favourite ♥️ I just loved the cinnamon roll demon vs the grouchy Mafia boss vibes! It felt like it turned the ‘I accidentally summoned a demon’ trope on its head in the best way!

After seeing his brother Sascha summon a 7ft tall warrior demon, Ivan Kozlov, a Russian mafia boss, decides to summon one of his own to help him keep control of his mob. Unfortunately, rather than a bloodthirsty warrior, he accidentally summons an Incubus - a sex demon.

Nix loves humans and the human realm. He’s thrilled by the sexy, grumpy, high-strung Mafia boss who has summoned him and can’t wait to win the taciturn human over. But Ivan insists that he’s straight… not a problem though, Nix loves a challenge and he’s seen Ivan giving him some very lustful looks when he thinks Nix isn’t watching…

I loved the sheer amount of caretaking between these two - Nix instantly realises that Ivan is hurting, his father messed him up and running the Mafia is making him miserable. Nix looks after Ivan in a way he’s never had before, and the healing arc is impeccable. I also loved that Nix isn’t afraid to stand up to Ivan when he’s being unreasonable - Ivan isn’t often told no and Nix doing it really throws him for a loop!

Also, the spice in this book is just as hot as one would expect when a sex demon is involved 🥵♥️

Read Inviting Bedlam for:
✨ Sunshine Demon x Grumpy Human
✨ Incubus x Mafia Boss
✨ Demon in lingerie
✨ Bi-awakening
✨ Touch starved MC
✨ Summoning the wrong type of demon
✨ Horns and a tail
✨ Fixing ingrained toxic masculinity
✨ Reconciling with family

Literally so excited for book three!!

I loooooove them!

I was scared to read about Ivan, because of how he was portrayed in Alexei and Sascha’s book. It turned out to be soo good.

Ivan has a lot of issues and holds a lot of resentment towards his brothers for abandoning him. He’s trying to run the whole mafia business on his own. Being jealous of Sascha’s demon, he decides to summon his own deadly warrior…only Nix is anything but.

Nix has always wanted to live in the human realm and is eager to at last be summoned again. The incubus that feeds on lust is determined to prologue his stay as much as possible.

I loved that Ivan and his previous actions weren’t erased. He had made mistakes and hurt his brothers but he was also hurt and it was nice to see more of his character.

Nix was the most perceptive and understanding creature ever. He accepted Ivan for who he was and guided him in the right direction when needed!

I loved their relationship dynamic and how soft Ivan became at times with his demon! I’m also so glad that the brothers are trying to mend their relationships!

2🌶️

This is 100% Grae’s best work so far! I didn’t think I’d enjoy it this much, but wow, here we are. It’s fun, light, and low-angst, with plenty of sass and fluff to keep things interesting. Is it going to win a Pulitzer? Probably not. But it’s an absolute blast, and that’s all I wanted.

Nix and Ivan? Scrumptious. An emotionally repressed, touch-starved mob boss paired with a sweet but sassy incubus? Yes, please. They might actually be my favorite couple Grae’s written.

Nix was such a nice surprise—super chill, well-adjusted, and just so emotionally healthy (honestly, rare for these types of books). He’s a total caretaker, and the way he helps Ivan start to heal from a lifetime of trauma was both sweet and satisfying.

I also loved Ivan’s little redemption arc. He doesn’t fully flip the switch, which makes it feel real, but Nix helps him open up and be more of his true self. Watching that spill over into his relationships with his brothers, Sascha and Alexei, was honestly so nice. You could always tell Ivan cared about them deep down, even when he was a mess, so seeing him start to repair those bridges was really heartwarming.

And now I need Cooper and Chaos’s story, like yesterday. Chaos feels like pure, well... chaos, and I’m SO curious to see what happens there.

This book is the perfect “no thoughts, just vibes” kind of read. If you’re looking for something fun, funny, and full of feels, this one totally delivers. I loved it!
