This book wraps up the series. Three teens are marooned on a what they presume is a mysterious tropical island. Casey and Mike have made their way through the creature-filled jungle to a glass city where they hope to find help for Jack, their abducted friend. Once in the city, they learn shocking news that will change their lives forever, and getting Jack back will be anything but easy.
Chrissy Peebles, a practicing nurse, has always loved reading and writing fantasy from the earliest age she can remember. She plotted every single twist she could think of during bedtime stories for her children. When her little ones begged for more adventures, she felt confident enough to let her overeager imagination and sense of humor spill out into her first novel. She lives in Ohio with her husband, two young kids, one hamster, three dwarf hamsters and cat. When she's not taking the kids to Little League soccer, basketball, or baseball, she loves to snap photos as her favorite hobby.
I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobooks of this title. It's an epic finish, which I won't go away. Let's just say it's nail bitting good!
Finishing this novelette series, I think it's fair to point out the good and bad in the series. The characters in the book are teenagers, and often they are silly, more worried about dating than any danger around them. However I suppose if they weren't they wouldn't get into as much trouble? So if you take that point with a pinch of salt (and you don't mind it), then these novelettes are quite fun. I enjoyed this series because you never know what Chrissy Peebles will do next. As an author she is quite unpredictable. This series contains dinosaurs and aliens. I read Chrissy Peebles because she's fun. :-)
I totally loved the way the series was wrapped up. All the lose ends were pulled together and I was not left wondering about any huge gaping questions which is rare for me.
Casey is a pretty kick butt main character unlike a typical girl she can hold her own when it comes to handling facing her fears and even though she is knocked down a good deal she keeps on getting up. Yes she has the support of friends but she does not rely on them to do everything for her and instead embraces the teamwork ideal.
