Welcome to the Scimitar Hotel, a discreet hideaway of luxury fantasy suites for couples, where anything goes and the wildest desires become unforgettable realities-if just for one red-hot night. Here there is no such thing as going too far. Nothing is taboo. And no one is watching. It also gives Janice Maynard free rein to go as far as her heart desires in three novellas, each catering to specific, wild, and uncensored tastes.
Janice Maynard came to the writing life early! When her third grade short story, “The Princess and the Robbers”, won a red ribbon in a school arts fair, Janice was hooked. She followed up that early success with a more commercial piece in the sixth grade… “Why My Mom Loves To Drink Coke”. No advance for that one, but she won a six-pack of Coke… remember those great little bottles?
In junior high Janice began circulating her work to a wider audience. A dozen or so notebook pages stapled together made the rounds in some particularly boring classes, with the riveting tales carefully hidden behind textbooks.
High school meant the big time… editor of the school newspaper, the Maroon and White. Janice used her insightful editorials to delve into such meaty subjects as “locker room odor” and “why we need two-ply tissue in the student bathrooms”.
College brought lots of writing, but very little of it creative… four years later, Janice stepped into the adult world as a fully certified elementary teacher.
Despite motherhood, full-time employment, and keeping up with an “always into something” husband, Janice never lost her love of writing or the desire to be published. In 1996 she realized her long-time dream when Kensington Publishing bought her first book, Sweetheart. That exciting moment was followed by the sales of two more books in the Precious Gem line.
In the fall of 2002, Janice left the classroom to pursue writing full-time.
I finished this 249 page book SO quickly!! Great pacing and an EXCELLENT balance of romantic and SUPER FREAKY AND SPICY. 👀 Want to read more of Janice Maynard's work now!

This was a donation to the library and I needed something to read. Was okay, great story idea but the steamy parts were so so. Contains 3 short stories where each couple goes to a private resort hotel in the mountains of North Carolina where they cator to your fantasies. They have theme rooms where you can book one and play out anything you want. Like I said, the idea was good, the sex was normal, but the plots of the stories were eh.
This is three novellas in one book, which I always enjoy. All three stories definitely have a plot that is fairly well-developed for being short. The down-side of that (for you sex readers) is that there seems to be less room for actual sex scenes. But I still liked this book. The characters were fun, the sex scenes were hot, and the stories are set in a hotel that I think we'd all like to visit!
I just want to say that I loved the four stories not three it's hard to pick one as my favorite. I wanted more stories at some point I hope the author writes more. The idea of a hotel where you can fill your sexual fantasies was great. I like how each couple role played in each room and made love connections. Luke and Emily and Dylan and Katie story was to cute it may top my list. Must read box set.
I saw this book at the local thrift store for free, so I thought I'd give it a chance. It was very good. All three stories were very detailed for being so short, and you really got to know the characters in their 5 chapter span. Definitely will not be donating this one back to the thrift store.
I like the idea behind the story (a sex hotel with different styles of suites to allow you to fulfill your favorite fantasies), but the story itself seemed lacking. Still, it wasn't bad for simply sexual entertainment.
Even though i gave it a 3 i would give it a close 4... its like the other reviewer said it was good but not wow...BUT still a good quick read i like all the stories.
Ok novellas with interesting premise - an adult fantasy hotel. I couldn't help being disgusted, though, by the idea of couples sequentially using clothes, beds, etc.
Was an intriguing idea but the third story only reminded me of The Shining; I kept expecting some axe-wielding murderer to be chasing them down the cold hallways.
