Quinn may have retrieved the necessary power and books for the Library to open, but her to-do list is still three miles long.
Armed with Librarian assistants, Quinn must replenish the Library's catalogue, open the other six branches of the Library, and figure out what the hell is going on with the Library and its manifestation.
Not only do there seem to be more missing books than originally listed, but there are also missing chunks of time and information. With so many holes in the Library's recollections, it's a wonder Quinn hasn't tripped and fallen yet.
It's up to Quinn and her crew figure out how to refill the holes before the entire magic system collapses.
KT Hanna has a love for words so extreme, a single word can spark entire worlds.
Born in Australia, she met her husband in a computer game, moved to the U.S.A. and went into culture shock. Bonus? Not as many creatures specifically out to kill you.
When she’s not writing, she freelance edits for Chimera Editing, and chases her daughter, husband, corgi, and cat. No, she doesn’t sleep. She is entirely powered by the number 2, caffeine, and beef jerky.
This is my second KT Hanna book in the Library magical universe. I think it's somewhat better than the first. She maintains her quirky characterization of Quinn, the novice magical librarian and develops her further.
New problems continually appear, which Quinn conquers by learning more about her librarian powers and adopting innovative solutions from her previous life on Earth.
My problems with the character is she isn't always logical and consistent, which is very human, and the pacing drags at times. But I'm an action junkie. Maybe I need to learn to take time and enjoy a delicious meal prepared by the cooking golem.
I'm pretty engrossed in this series, having plowed through books one and two in about 5-6 days. I also think the author's writing got stronger as she wrote the second book. I never had a problem with the first book holding my attention with all the setup that was going on, but now that "setup" is out of the way things seem to move much faster in book two.
I'm finding that I am really starting to like the interaction with auxiliary characters such as Quinn's familiar, Cook, the elves, and I find the relationship with the imp really endearing and funny.
I'm also learning Kor may have just been a dick. Not sure why, but a dick nonetheless.
And for the life of me, I always seem a step behind figuring out any part of the mysteries of who is causing what issues. Just when I have a suspect, I learn I must be wrong, and start guessing at another person or reason. It's like I am being lead around by my nose from crumb of a hint to crumb of a hint.
Also.. Quinn's history came to light and I didn't see that coming. Damn.
The Library is now open, but it’s far from fully functional. Quinn has a lot to do before she is anywhere close to that goal. Not to mention all of the holes in the Library’s memory. That doesn’t even take account for whoever sabotaged the library in the first place. They would certainly kill to close the Library down for good.
This has been a great litrpg series so far. Quinn is quickly gaining a lot of power, but still has the inexperience at her new life. I can see her being a force of nature in the coming books. The side characters are fantastic and one of my favorite parts of the series. Andrea Parsneau did an exceptional job with the narration!
So this audible book is a page, Turner. Quinn is doing the best she can with all the secrets and all of the new problems that come her way. I love that. Quinn often asked solid questions, although she complained quite a bit. She’s 20 years old and kind of embodies that. I can’t wait for the next audible book to come out.
I wanted to binge-read this, but considering that the Kindle is already in book 4, I’m debating getting and reading the books because the storyline is that good. It's definitely a slow-progression fantasy.
K.T Hanna astounds once more - her unique cast of characters continues to diversity with even minor characters having nuanced and detailed personalities. She capitalizes and feeds off the childhood nostalgia of her adult audience with the joyous wonders of childhood. 10/10 would recommend as a introductory book into LITRPG due to the simplified stat mechanics and the unique magic system that continues to grow.
The author does a masterful job of sculpting this story so that the constant tension is ever-present but does not overwhelm. There is a recurring feeling like everything is going to come apart at the seams while there is still time for light-hearted banter.
We see the growth of the MC take some rather significant steps in this book but they are still behind the curve which greatly adds to the story.
The magical library of everything and everywhere is powered by books and the people who borrow (and return!) them. Book 2 has the library getting stronger after installing Quinn, the main character, as the Librarian. And inviting patrons after years of being closed.
It’s a fun story. It also needs an editor to check for redundancy and logic jumps.
These immediately rose to among my ‘favorite series’ list! Excellent character and story development, interesting plot lines, and I love the heroine’s quests. So, so good! I hope this series continues on and on, and can’t wait to see what else this author has written! Note: I highlighted some areas where I noted edits were needed (but doesn’t detract from book at all).
It is not a good book. Great premise however, poorly executed and seems to be written by a first time author without a good editor. Most of the book feels like a list that has been on repeat since the first book with little to no traction in completion. Main characters go back and forth with "we're friends" and "i really seem to hate you". I wanted to like it and will probably finish it but will not be reading the next book.
The library is open and growing but so are the threats. So much keeps coming at her and there were a couple of "I knew it" moments for me. With so much going on and the non stop increasing task list it was strange to see that despite everything progress was being made. The underlying cause of the library shutting down is so much more complex and there are so many hidden threads going on. I cannot wait to see where the author takes this series as the characters are all so unique and the entire system is so different to other Litrpg series with the librarians mechanics.
Quinn continues to have challenges, and discovers some disturbing revelations about herself, and comes close to losing her temper. Seriously. Mystery deepens.
This continues to be a fine example of a book I enjoy but isn't necessarily the best thing I've read. The author is getting better - everyone stopped chuckling! Still probably longer then it needs to be, but I think that might be a feature of this type of genre. Or not, what do I know. Regardless, decent book, will probably keep reading at some point.
If you liked Overdue, you’ll love Damaged. Quinn continues to grow in her abilities. Links is finally’ getting there’ and the conspiracy will soon be revealed. Who caused the virus that affected the Library ? Highly recommended
Another fantastic book by KT Hanna. This second instalment of the Library System Reset series continues to build on the excellent world building and character development in the first book. I look forward to the next in the series.
The adventure continues with an overwhelmed library and so much to do and never enough time to do it. I like the book and the main character in the world building. I look forward to more.
The library system has it all. Story, relationships, & excitement. Like a true woman, Quinn has friendships, familial feelings & a slowly growing possibility of a romance.
I think Ms. Hanna has become one of my favorite authors. Her stories are creative, fresh, and vastly entertaining. Her characters are fascinatingly interesting. Her writing is gifted. I highly recommend this series!
Listened to the audiobook, which I bought immediately after finishing book 1. So many threads that are starting to come together, slightly darker in places than book 1, but still wonderfully imaginative and who doesn't want to be the librarian to a magical library.
I feel like this didn’t have as much adventure as book one, the MC also had her backstory changed halfway through which felt random. Her personality also was like a know it all who actually knew nothing.
More adventures, More Problems, More Friends. Reveals happen! And of course books. I love the way the library grows and how new branches of the library will make it grow
