EMBRACING THE VIBRANCY OF THE ARTS IN OUR COMMUNITY
Since Seattle hosted the World's Fair in 1962, the Seattle Center has remained an integral part of the local community. The iconic Space Needle is an important reminder of the dreams of that time. Owned and managed by the Wright family, children of Howard S. Wright II who constructed it, the Space Needle continues to be an icon for innovation, originality and imagining the future.
When the opportunity to reinvigorate Seattle Center arose, the Wright family took interest. They invited Northwest artist, Dale Chihuly, to present a comprehensive collection of his work. Having always loved the Space Needle, Chihuly was delighted with the opportunity to design an Exhibition Hall, a Garden installation and a Glasshouse in his own community. Through its community partners, Chihuly Garden and Glass supports opportunities for education and involvement in the arts.

Very glad I have this book. When I experience something in my travels, I wish to 'catalogue' it for the memories so difficult for me to recall; and this souvenir edition will do that wonderfully. Available with oodles of other catalogues and souvenirs in the gift shop, this book captures what we saw and felt at the museum and gardens there at the foot of Seattle's Space Needle. It provides information and history [not in depth] about Chihuly and his projects, separated in similar order to the galleries in the museum. Colors, paper and resolution of photos are high quality. I recommend this particular book.
First 20 pages are drawings of various greenhouses. I didn't like the text: the was laid or the grey tone used. I would have prefered a basic black color font for better readability. Photos on the right side, text on the left. Skipped most of the text fwiw.
