Amazing book! A must read for fantasy and magic fans! A great mix of magic, adventure and science. I loved the ingenious riddles and had a blast solving them! A unique twist in this genre.
I really wanted to like this book but I just couldn't. It seems written for a ten year old like something you would read to your children at night. Definitely not for an older teen or adult.
I won this book in a giveaway. I was very excited because it was the first time I had won. I read this book in one day (314 pages, large font) I would consider this book appropriate for younger readers 5-6 graders In the story four young teens are tasked with finding 3 magic nails. Each nail can only be found by solving a riddle within a certain amount of time. There are dangers along the way. I thought some of the challenges they faced to be a bit far fetched. But the book is a fantasy. The story was fairly fast paced during the “missions”. The down time activities between each mission was kind of boring Also the build up towards a romantic relationship between the teens , I felt, was ridiculous I was surprised by some of the typos and places where I thought the wrong word/tense was being used. The author needs a better proofreader. Overall I think it will appeal to the age group I mentioned above
A Magical Adventure that Keeps you Guessing! Raju Vashishta’s The Shaking Palace is an enchanting start to the Magical Riddles series. The story is packed with mystery, intriguing riddles, and a world that sparks the imagination. Vashishta’s vivid descriptions and creative world-building make it easy to immerse yourself in the magical journey.
The characters are well-crafted, and their growth throughout the story adds depth and relatability. The riddles are clever and engaging, keeping you hooked as you try to solve them alongside the characters.
While the pacing is strong for most of the book, there are moments where the story slows down, which slightly detracts from the momentum. However, the exciting twists and satisfying conclusion make up for it.
Overall, The Shaking Palace is a delightful read for fantasy lovers of all ages. It’s a solid introduction to what promises to be a captivating series. 4 stars!
This should have been a movie script. For a fantasy world, you need proper world building. There was nearly no character development. I wanted to be placed into this world but I couldn't be captivated at all.
There's hardly any real plot and just lots of descriptions that are just difficult to follow. I'm supposed to be in a fantasy world, but there are real-life branded products mentioned. Characters just magically interact in ways that come out of left field. I thought the idea of this type of palace was fascinating which is why I wanted to read the book. I was extremely disappointed with the world I was supposed to be brought to.
