Not all the stories are 5 stars, but having these classics in one book is. 1. Horace Walpole - The Castle of Otranto (1764) 2. Mary Shelley - Frankenstein (1818) 3. Robert Louis Stevenson - The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1818) 4. Oscar Wilde - The Picture of Dorian Gray (1890) 5. Bram Stoker - Dracula (1897) 6. Henry James - The Turn of the Screw (1898)
I just read the Castle of Otranto this time because it was described as the first gothic novel. The writing was not excellent but I loved reading the story, very of its time and started out with murder in the first page so that was a plus.
