Ce dernier volet du cycle répond enfin à la terrible question : l'amour est-il au coeur du mal, ou est-ce le mal qui est au coeur de l'amour ? Et après pas mal d'atrocités que nous ne dévoilerons pas, l'histoire s'achèvera sur un happy-end - y compris pour le petit Zog, mais ne le dites à personne.

fin du deuxième diptyque, qui voit (on s'en serait douté) le bien l'emporter sur le mal, l'amour l'emporter sur la haine.
C'est convenu, convenons-en, mais ça reste superbement mis en scène, en images et en couleurs, et donc, ça passe.

Recenzja dla całego oryginalnego dyptyku (komiksy 1-4 cyklu).
Kreska Rosińskiego zachwyca jak dawniej. Scenariusz Dufaux daje radę, ale ani Van Hamme ani Duchâteau to to nie jest. Wolałem drugą część dyptyku (zeszyty 3-4), bo nie wymagała tyle wprowadzenia w historię i bohaterów i miała więcej konfliktu i dynamizmu (również w strukturze narracji). Najslabszym zeszytem wydaje się być dwójka, gdzie ma się wrażenie mocnej kompresji i przyśpieszenia fabuły, żeby się zmieścić z końcówką.
Wydanie Egmonta w twardej oprawie rewelacyjne.

Super premier cycle!
J'étais pas très fan au premier coup d'oeil des illustrations un peu vieillottes, style années 90. Mais je suis très vite tombée sous le charme des multiples intrigues de cet univer dark fantaisie... venu tout droit des terres galloises ! Et puis les illustrations sont vraiment chouettes au final, très colorées, qui donnent un équilibre aux côtés sombres de l'histoire.
Bref, une série très très hautement recommandable.
J'ai hâte de lire les prochains cycles!

Miljöö ja taide olivat edelleen hienoa ja tunnelmallista. Tarinassakin oli hyviä käänteitä, mutta jotenkin kaipasin tähän päätökseen vähemmän paikallaan pyörivää draamaa ja enemmän dynaamisempaa menoa.
Sarjan oudot ja koomiset ”uikutkin” oli saatu lopulta keskeiseen rooliin tarinassa, mutta jotenkin ne silti tuntuivat päälle liimatulta koomiselta fantasiaelementiltä. Ne eivät vielä tässä neljännessäkään albumissa istuneet luontevasti mukaan muuhun maailmaan.

Bellissimo. Da sword & sorcery fantasy si passa a high magic fantasy. Una storia davvero bella, con un paio di colpi di scena niente male. Due maestri del fumetto francese al lavoro, e si vede. Chapeau.

After the third volume ended on such an unexpected cliffhanger I was rather looking forward to where Rosinski and Dufaux were going to take this next, and I’m pleased to say they don’t disappoint. Siobhán is now under the complete control of the sinister Gerfauts, twisting her away from the path of fairness and mercy to a much darker one where she is the pawn of Lady Gerfaut. Frozen out, her friends and mother watch on hopelessly as Siobhán is married to Gerfaut’s son. The consummation of that marriage will help secure the Gerfauts’ position with an heir.
In an act of open defiance Kyle of Klanach defies the Gerfauts and where once Siobhán would have protected him, under the dark spell she condemns him to death, only for Lady Gerfaut to postpone that death with the promise of torture. Siobhán’s salvation is looking hopeless and so her mother looks to take the most desperate measure of all.
Defying your expectations is what you want from any narrative, otherwise you’re just being served up what you’ve devoured before. Rosinski and Dufaux manage to acheive this, turning the story on its head and leaving you unsure as to where it will go next. This is a series that has improved book by book and one I’ve grown very fond of. I don’t know if there’s a plan for any more, but if not, this is a perfect package in itself.

This is the fourth album of Jean Dufaux and Grzegorz Rosinski's series Lament of the Lost Moors, and the closing chapter of the second two-album arc, following directly from the cliffhanger in the previous album,
Lady Gerfaut
.
Séamus narrates most, if not all, of the narrative, and opens with a mystery involving Siobhan's funeral, and then goes back to where the last album ended to take us to the point in the story. This sense of foreboding creates an interesting narrative tension as we follow a spellbound Siobhan towards what we can only assume to be her end. At the centre of the action, beside Siobhan herself, we find the Gerfauts to whom she has been bound by dark magic, and Kyle of Klanach, who would be her friend in different circumstances.
Drawing upon the mythical world they have set up, Dufaux and Rosinski delivers a fine conclusion to this second arc, as well as the first cycle of the series. At this point, I only hope that Cinebook will continue their publication of the series and provide us with its second cycle.
