When new student Trula Twyst comes to Riverdale, her mysterious and quiet nature doesn’t mix well with the squeaky-clean façade of Riverdale High. Tormented by her past and with a keen interest in Behavioral Psychology, she sets her sights on dismantling the traditional high school hierarchy from within. How? By a simple game of Truth or Dare… This horror one shot is smart, sexy, and for fans of movies like Escape Room, Saw, and Girl, Interrupted.
Truth or Darrrrrre! Always a stupid game, I thought. And I never understood all the angst that went along with it. Bitch, I am not going to potentially hurt and/or humiliate myself on purpose. Someone dares you to eat something gross? My answer is no. What's the worst that can happen? I just lost? Oh nos! And fuck no, I'm not telling the truth if the truth is embarrassing. God gave us the ability to lie for a reason. Use it. Basically, this whole comic's scenario is based on the fears of people who played this game with all the earnestness of a toothy youth pastor.
Trula Twyst is the new student with a dark past, and she's set her sights on Jughead. Sort of? I honestly don't get what her end game was other than she was crazy and wanted to cause chaos. But there's a somewhat cool cameo at the end of the comic for longtime fans of Archie.
Horribly paced, poorly thought out, and the resolution is someone tells a serial killer its not cool to kill people because you had a tough life and it works... also the illustrations are ugly and look like a Choices Game.
It's a fun read, but it's way too short. Love the atmosphere, love art, love the vibes, but wanted it to go on for a bit more. Not even like...a full graphic novel more...just...a bit more.
Felt very very rushed to me. I understand it was a one shot but maybe it was a mini series and it was more fleshed out it could have been better but as is my opinion
