Fredi is a passionate witch with a scorching hot secret. Every time she has a sexual thought, green fire blasts from her fingertips. Gus is a gorgeous lycan who scares women away with his wild wolf-shifts. Not the best way to find relationships.

Both have vowed not to date until they get themselves under control, but a witchy friend thinks differently. The pair get tricked into sharing a frosty pitcher of “Hoodoo Blue” and fall prey to a wayward love potion that has them blurting out every lustful thought. Worse, it won’t allow them to walk away from each other. They’re stuck together until dawn under the devilish effects of a time-released hoodoo that makes them do outrageous things. For everyone’s safety, Fredi is forced to take Gus home and tie him to her headboard and only some very witchy lovemaking can calm the storm.

Fredi and Gus might find themselves on the set-up date from hell, but even a hilarious cascade of disasters can’t keep a plus-sized blonde witch with attitude, and a hunky lumberjack of a lycan from seeing the other would be the perfect mate.

Sometimes books sit in my review pile for a while waiting for me to crack the proverbial spine open and delve into the world that the author has taken great time and thought into creating for their characters. I'm not exactly sure what caused me to keep pushing this to the back of the pile of "must read books" but it lingered there for far too long. And now I'm looking forward to reading more by this author because the story was told with a light touch that I found charming.

As most single people are fully aware, first dates have a scale from "I'm shocked it went so well." to "Who in their right mind thought that he or she would be a good fit for me?" to "I'm so embarrassed because (fill in the blank here) happened." Fortunately for us readers we are the recipients of an "I'm so embarrassed" first date between Fredi & Gus. The cause and effect were delightful and completely believable if you are as big a klutz as I am.

There were moments that I really wanted to step into the bar and experience one of these drinks for myself. May I suggest Ms. Leon create the Hoodoo Blue drink for a convention or just for your readers and post on your website. Because I would love to have been sipping this while I read the book. Just a thought.

The writing is tight and the story moves at a brisk pace which allowed me to read it between working on laundry and Saturday morning chores. This is definitely a world that has potential and I would definitely enjoy a repeat visit to the bar for more hijinks.

Final Thoughts: Wonderful introduction to this series and Ms. Leon's work.

Burning Love!

Federica De La Cruz is a witch with a serious problem, whenever she has lustful thoughts, she shoots flames. What's a girl to do, become celibate, so as not to burn the town down? Fredi thinks just that, don't go out with any guy, just stick to rescuing kittens and witching them good homes.

Her BFF Estele has other plans for her though in the form of a yummy lycan named Gus with a full moon problem. If she can get them together to have a drink called Hoodoo Blue all should fall into place!

What fun it was to read how these two manage to get through a night of Estele's famous Micky, man my belly hurts from laughing at the antics Fredi has gotten herself into and the shrunken talking head just blew me away!

A TREASURE TROVE OF MAGICAL GOODNESS !!!
Title: HooDoo Blue
Series: Sorcery By The Sea
Author: Katalina Leon
Designation: Book One, Standalone Novella, NO Cliffhanger
My Rating: FIVE MAGICALLY DELICIOUS STARS*****
So, a witch and a lycan walk into a bar.....Yeah, yeah, I know - it sounds like the first line of a bad joke but Hoodoo Blue is no joke! It's an uproariously comical, laugh out loud funny, fantastically awesome novella by Katalina Leon and I loved it! I read this story last year when it was originally published but the story has since been revamped, re-edited and expanded with more side-splitting humor and irresistible hotness, and she's even added a beautiful new cover. Leon is a gifted storyteller and has dazzled us yet again with her extraordinary imagination and outrageously delicious wit. I've been a Katalina Leon fan for several years and she never fails to deliver a delightfully entertaining read. The story is exciting, funny, imaginative, unique, romantic, sweet, heartwarming, and sizzling hot. The dialog is smart, snarky, funny, well executed and flows beautifully. Yes, the book is exceptionally well crafted and the narrative is beautifully written in the third person but it's the cast of larger than life characters that steal the show in this paranormal romantic comedy. They are captivating, engaging, sassy, sexy and downright hilarious. If you love your romance filled to the brim with heated attraction, steamy passion, outrageous humor and a liberal splash of magical mayhem, then this is definitely the read for you! What did I love about this book? Duh...is that a trick question?!? I loved everything! What didn't I like? Not a darn thing! Would I recommend this story? You bet and I am! Will I read this author again! Abso-freakin-lutely!
When dangerous wiccan green energy plasma bolts begin to fire uncontrollably from her fingertips every time she has a sexual thought, beautiful curvaceous witch Fredericka Del la Cruz knows she's in for trouble. Sure, she's a witch, but this is so not normal - even for her! There's no way she'll ever be able to date again, especially after what happened last time. She's still doing community service for that fiasco! But in her defense, that guy was such a jerk and deserved her wrath, although no one except her magically challenged best friend and fellow witch Estele seems to agree. Nope - no more dates for her! And unfortunately, it seems there'll be no more orgasms in the near future either - last time she almost flooded the kitchen. Good grief, a wet dream would most likely result in her house burning down! Oh gracious! Apparently, her bungling bestie Estele doesn't get the memo! She has plans for Fredi - and those plans include a handsome sexy lycan named Gus, a magical hoodoo spell and a surprise hookup at an enchanted cocktail lounge called the Voodoo Hoodoo! Oh my! Sparks fly! Attraction builds! Desires burn! Passion ignites! Literally! Good Golly Miss Molly! I laughed so hard, tears streamed from my eyes! Beautiful saucy witch who has a seriously unlucky track record with men along with dangerous magical control issues - check! Handsome sexy wolf with an unfortunate shifting problem and control issues of his own - check! An inconvenient full moon - check! Magic, mayhem, a spell gone wrong, humor, romance and just a little comical angst - oh yeah, in spades! Heated attraction, fiery passion and dreamy romance - you bet! That and a whole lot more! Leon grabbed me on the first page and held me totally captivated until the very last line! If you love saucy humor and supernatural romance with a twist, then you will LOVE this book! Don't walk, run to one click Hoodoo Blue by Katalina Leon! Fantastic entertainment and an awesome read!

Every once in a while I find myself dving into a book with if I'm honest very low expectations . I do like this authors work but wasn't really sure if a story featuring a love potion would satisfy my romantic soul. Yes I want romance but I need to believe the couple genuinely do have a great connection and as luck would have it there is most definitely a few sparks flying around between these two!
Fredi the witch has a somewhat unique problem and it's having dire consequences on her now nonexistent love life. A well meaning friend tricks her into a blind date but we all know how badly they can go! The guy in question is Gus a Lycan but it's the full moon and that poses a huge problem for Gus. Now all this is enough to wreck their meeting but add in a certan pitcher of a magically infused cocktail and it's truly a recipe for disaster!
From the first page Fredi is written as such an engaging and caring heroine. She came to life in my mind as such a charming and funny character and I easily warmed to her. This is a woman who knows who she is and is unafraid to embrace all that it entails. Her recent problems aside she stil lives her life true to what she believes. From the first encounter between this couple it's very obvious that Gus would really really like to get to know Fredi much better but as the night progresses how much is real chemistry and just how much is the Hoodoo Blue? Fredi may harbour reservations but Gus is a strong male who believes in grabbing his opportunity. I loved that he has a sensitive side and is not written as a cave man but a man that could really take the time to woo his very lucky lady . Yes it gets steamy but it's a quick fun read full of humour. Also the author cleverly starts with a scene involving kittens and then just before the epilogue she reprises the idea in such a sweet manner . Well done Ms Leon for such an engaging read even if poor Gus had to suffer embarrassing uncontrolled shifting ( absolutely hysterical!) and I look forward to more of your writing with it's mixture of humour and heat.

Written For Confessions From Romaholics

Take a witch and a werewolf, mix it with a powerful love spell, add some dirty talk and you’ll have the receipe for the perfect hoodoo blue cocktail. Of course, it should come with a warning: never trust another witch who sets you up on a blind date that will end with you wearing an orange safety vest and picking up trash on the side of the highway every weekend for six months! You never know what could happen next: it could go worse than wearing something that doesn’t fit your vestimentary tastes or you could find the one that can actually put out the green fires you start… occasionally… with a sexual thought.

The curvy witch and the gorgeous lycan, Fredi and Gus, are the perfect match, in spite of their vows to no longer date until their little problems are under control. Yep… good luck with that, because one witchy and naughty friend thinks otherwise. A yummy and frosty cocktail mixed with a love potion has them blurting out every lustful thought right from the first blind date. And to make it worse, it won’t allow them to walk away from each other until the effects disappear. Hmmm…. what remains to be done? Go home together, of course, and let the magic happen.

This short novel is a wonderful read with a sassy and witty female character and a hot shifter male that can bring some magic into your life for the time you read their story. It has a funny dialog and a very nice storyline. I really enjoyed the read and I can’t wait to see what other books are in this new series.

Fredi and Gus have both sworn off dating until they can get themselves under control but one set up from hell later and all bets are off as they just might change their minds in this charming and quirky paranormal romance.

Fredi’s secret is taking a heavy toll on her love life as she has no control over her witch fire when she gets hot and bothered and Gus finds that women are turned off by his increasingly wild wolf shifts.
The reader can’t help but get caught up by their story as a well intentioned friend uses a little “Hoodoo Blue” and love potion mix to set up the blind date from hell, one that literally causes sparks to fly in every direction and some other interesting side effects that force Fredi to take Gus home and tie him to her bed. The characters are strong, compelling, a little quirky and charms readers right into the story while the fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers hovering on the edge of anticipation to see what happens next.

The chemistry between Fredi and Gus is quite combustible even without the magical intervention but the relationship requires that they manage survive that intervention throughout a red hot night of explosive passion. The well written scenes and details easily capture the imagination and bring this fun romance to life and the fascinating world has some interesting and different elements that ensure a quick enjoyable read.

This is my first time reading this author and what drew me was the story line. As soon as I opened it up I was very glad I ventured in. With paranormal being one genre I pick often because of all the wonderful characters and extraordinary things that go on this author was no different. I met two wonderful characters-Fredi and Gus. Fredi is a witch and Gus is a Lycan and thanks to a set up by her friend that meet at a bar both for different reasons so they think then they are stood up but keep on chatting with each other. Thanks to a specialty drink they think they are having before they go their separate ways thanks to her quirky friend they will have a change of plans. Fredi has had her share of mishaps lately that this author has given vividly described to us that you can not do anything but fall in love with this character. She has a personality that is infectious and this author has even more fun in store when these two spend the evening together. Humor and heat done splendidly for reading enjoyment with a storyline that is perfect match. When the evening is all said and done they will both come away with much more of a gift then they expected from the onset-Love. Received a copy for a honest review.

I received this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

HOODOO BLUE is one of the funniest romances I have read! Fredi is a witch who has problems with her temper and it has caused her to catch things on fire when she thinks sexual thoughts. Gus is a wolf shifter who wants a mate but cannot find one because he scares women when they find out he's a shifter. Fredi's friend, Estele, decides these two are a good match and does what she can to get them together.

I have not laughed so hard or so loud when reading a romantic comedy as I did with HOODOO BLUE. When Fredi describes her date with Estele's cousin, Giles, I lost it. I could picture it. When Fredi meets Gus for the first time, I could picture that also. The shrunken heads are a nice touch also! The sex is hot! Estele was right; Gus and Fredi are perfect for each other.

HOODOO BLUE is a perfect read for a cold, rainy Saturday afternoon. It is quick but so much fun. I loved Fredi and Gus. I cannot wait to read more of this series. I look forward to more books from this author.

Witch Frederica De la Cruz, and lycan Gus Odindon both have issues that need resolving and have no intention of dating anyone. They share a pitcher of “Hoodoo Blue” and are forced to spend time together.

If you’re in the mood for a story that is going to make you laugh, go no further, you have found your book. Hoodoo Blue is a very funny story that kept me giggling.

Fredi and Gus have hilarious issues that kept me amused. Okay, if the issues were happening to me, they might not be so funny but in this story they are. Fredi is having trouble controlling her magic and keeps destroying things around her. While Gus, is about to turn furry because of upcoming full moon. Due to a time released spell they need to stay within a certain proximity of each other. The result is entertaining.

Both characters are quirky and likeable. The story is well-written and easy to follow. I happily finished the book in one sitting. This is a great book to put you in a good mood.

This is a fun, snappy little paranormal romance, but instead of a meet-cute, we have a meet-disaster. Neither Gus nor Fredi thinks they are in the right place to date, but a good-hearted friend with a penchant for mischief and spell casting gone awry thinks otherwise. And when the spell goes on, the brakes on the brain and the lips definitely goes off. There’s some rather fun repartee and some sizzling smexing, followed by a sweet happily every after. :Sigh: I just adored Gus, he’s too precious for words. The only reason I am not rating this higher is that some of the dialogue and the inner monologues were a touch clunky and in a few places, repetitive. But overall it is a fun read and I am rather interested in finding out what kind of hi-jinks Estele is going to get herself into when it is her own love life on the line.

I received a ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.

Gus is a Lycan who hasn't had much luck when it comes to finding his mate. Fredi hasn't had much luck in love either, but she's sort of become the laughing stock of the witch world thanks to her uncontrollable powers, and her quick temper.

Thanks to some meddling from a friend, Gus and Fredi get Hoodooed and are forced to suffer the effects through a night. It's funny, cute, and fun to read. The conversation, and banter is fun and makes you smile. Plus it's not really predictable like I thought it was going to be. I really enjoyed it.

*I received a ARC by the author for a honest review*

Fredi is a witch who has become the joke of the witch world because of her unmanageable powers. To top it off she's refrained from any form of sexual excitement as she can't control herself. Gus is a lykan who doesn't seem to have any luck finding a mate due to his furry side. Until he sets eyes on Fredi. They are set up by a friend who only wants the best but who ends up causing all sorts of disasters.
It's was a sweet story. I loved the characters and the concept but I found it dwelled too long on parts and it was repetitive in places. But it's a little different to other shifter/witch stories I've read. It was enjoyable!

This is such a lovely and funny love story. Fredi and Gus are great characters, they are both very unlucky in love department. Both dealing with their own problems and issues. They get set up and meet in a bar. And a set of mishaps and disasters happen. And they are so so funny.
The story is written very well, there is sexual tension right throughout, sex scenes are hot and steamy. I very much enjoyed it.

Liked the magic combined with lycan powers. However the sex was a lot more graphic than I usually tolerate but somehow it didn’t distract from the storyline but made the connection between Fredi and Gus seem all that more real because of their struggles, then ultimate surrender. I look forward to reading more about how their life progresses, how they learn to combine Fredi’s strange magic with Gus’ need to shift during the full mood. Gives a new meaning to ‘that time of the month’.

Review Courtesy of April Hollingworth

This is a wonderfully fun book. The characters are brilliant and what flies out of their mouths is pretty hilarious. This is a sexy and sweet novella, and a must read. I loved it.

Opening Scene:

Fredi gazed into the depths of the crate and whispered in her softest, most reassuring voice.

The Review:

Fredi is a passionate witch with a scorching hot secret. With the slightest sexual thought, even a small one, green fire blast from her fingertips. Things are getting out of hand. There’s only so much a frustrated girl can do about dampening down her urges. She’s determined to gain control of herself, even if it means staying out of the social scene indefinitely. Meeting Gus definitely doesn’t help her control herself.
Gus is a gorgeous lycan, his wild wolf-shifts scare away women. All he wants is to have a relationship, something his increasing lack of control isn’t helping with. He’s determined to get control on his wolfy ways before he scares off another woman.
A friend has other ideas though. She thinks Fredi and Gus will be perfect for each other, and the best way to gain control is together. Setting them up, she tricks them into drinking a frosty pitcher of “Hoodoo Blue.” It should have been a simple thing, except the spell takes on a life of its own. Things go from crazy to surreal quicker that Gus can howl.
Can Fredi and Gus realize that sometimes a little Hoodoo is exactly what you need to find your perfect mate?

Notable Scene:

“What’s your name?” The man’s rich voice burned with the same slow fire as a swig of dark rum.
“Frederica De la Cruz.” Her throat tightened. “But everyone calls me Fredi. I have insurance, but there are other ways we can take care of this.”
He allowed his gaze to drift toward her plunging neckline, but he seemed to catch himself and his attention immediately returned to her face. “I’d be very interested to hear about those other way’s.”
“I meant I’m a witch. I can hex-bond the paint. I’ve done it before. It will be a perfect match. You’ll never see the damage, but it will have to be another time. I don’t have my wand with me.”
A crooked smile lit his face. “You’re very up front about being a witch. You don’t seem to have any reservations about telling a stranger you’re a member of the enchantment community. It’s gutsy and refreshing.”
“I’m not ashamed of being a witch.”
“I didn’t mean to imply that you should be. I meant it was refreshing that you told me up front.”
“Oh.”
“Ummm.” He stalled. “I’ve had a few misunderstandings in the past, myself.”
She moved a step backward to put a little distance between her and his formidable build. It was impossible to disguise the disapproval that crept into each word. “Are you a warlock?”
“No.” He tilted his head, and his eyes flashed an iridescent shade of golden-green before briefly glowing amber.
She should have known at first sight he wasn’t a warlock; his build was too robust. “You’re Lycan?”
He grinned a devastating, bright smile “Yep.”

“Giggled throughout the entire read”

HooDoo Blue (Magic and Mayhem) Book #1 Katalina Leon
What a delightful short little read. Wasn’t sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised.
Fredi a witch with a temper and has an issue with flaming green balls of plasma coming out of her fingers. If she’s mad or if she’s feeling amorous. Which by the way can really suck.
Estele is Fredi BFF and a novice witch. Her spells don’t always do what they’re supposed to. Her intentions are good and she wants her BFF to be happy.
Gus a lycan who has control issues when it comes to a full moon and manages to scare away all the ladies. Cracked me up.
Basically this humorous romance starts out letting you know the disastrous chain of events that occurred when Estele fixed her cousin up with Fredi. Night started out fine until he tried to put the moves on Fredi. She chased is butt all through the city of San Buena blowing out windows and everything else including the seat of his pants. After this little stunt she was forced to do 6 months community service picking up trash in the streets.
After six months of being a recluse Fredi takes a call from her BFF Estele and somehow gets rooked into going out to a bar under the false pretense of a Surprise Party. Now how Estele manages what she’s actually done was beside me. She got Gus there also under false pretense. When things changed Fredi and Gus decided to go ahead and drink the pitcher of HooDoo rather than waste it. Oh and did they drink it. The specialty drink had been tampered with (by Estele of course) so while Gus and Fredi were talking they would blurt out their inner most thoughts. Like what they would like to do with each other. I never laughed so hard and trust me the green plasma balls were flying.
This is the perfect feel good humorous read while you’re waiting for your next angsty release. HAHAHAHA is that even a word angsty??? I’m really curious how this series Magic and Mayhem is going to play out. Do yourself a favor and pick this read up you won’t regret it.

# OF STARS 5/5 Genre: Paranormal Pages: 70
Overview:

ARC Review:
Fredi is a witch who has issues with her powers when she gets to emotional. She wants to hide away from the world, from love, from any form of emotion till she can get her powers figured out. But will she be able to do it or will she fail?
Estele set Fredi up and put a magic hoodoo elixir of some kind in a mixture at the bar she was at. What kind of side effects can they expect? What will the outcome be? Can a werewolf and a witch really be mates? These are just some of the questions to pop in my head half way thru the book but will they be answered?
Holy cow I knew it was coming but I wasn’t expecting to be like that and am pleasantly happy. I love the book but I really love the way she ended it.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I have read several of Katalina Leon's books and do enjoy them each time. Can't go wrong when you write great Shifter/Witch romances, right?! Most of the books are shorter, so you can read them in one afternoon. If not, I am sorry, because I get sucked into her stories and can't put it down until it is done.

In this tale we meet Fredericka (AKA Fredi) De la Cruz, a beautiful witch with a problem. If she thinks of anything, I mean anything, in a romantic or erotic nature that her hands will shoot fire. How horrible is that?! She has sworn off the opposite sex and anything intimate until she gets her fire under control. Well until her friend tries to intervene on her dry-spell....

Gus Odinson, a big, dark and deadly Lycan, that is just walking sex on legs. However, since a teenager, Gus has had issues with his shifting on full moons. He has not control really, but comes to a point that he has to use all his will power to hold his control in when Fredi walks into the bar. Oh Boy, the chemistry between them is intense. Gus is incredibly drawn to Fredi in more ways than one.

Under innocent intent, Gus and Fredi find themselves, in pure lust with either other. However, they are finding out that something is wrong. They conversation under no aide of a brain-filter, is absolutely hilarious and super HOT! Watch as Gus and Fredi work through the night and what control they have over their personal issues.

You will laugh. You will get turned on, but man you do get your HEA.

Title: HOODOO BLUE
Series: Magic and Mayhem #1
Category /Genre: Paranormal Romance
Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content
Received from: Katalina Leon (in exchange for an honest review)
Grammar/editing: ungraded – book received as an unedited ARC / errors excused

This is the first book in the Magic and Mayhem series. There is no cliff-hanger, so I don’t know yet if we will need to read them in order.

This is a short, humorous, sexy story featuring a passionate witch with a temper, a novice witch with good intentions, and a lycan with a moon-lust problem. Estele, tricks Fredi and Gus into a blind date without even telling them they were going on a date. She also manages to slip them a little loving spell in their Hoodoo Blue drinks. The effects are unique and fun for the reader!

I needed a little something light and frivolous to read while I was sick. This really fit the ticket! There’s nothing like lots of giggle right out loud moments to take your mind off your own worries. I think Fredi and I could be good friends. Hunky Gus is a furball with a heart of gold, especially at the end – le sigh!

This is the first book I have read from Katalina Leon. We met in a mutual chat group on Facebook and she offered the book to me as a gift. I truly hope I will be able to read more from her soon. There are a few titles that have me intrigued just based on the title and my personal quirks.

I received an ARC of this book. This book was so funny. I laughed so hard. I have several different types of books I like to read and this one was mixed with 2. I love witches and I also love werewolves. I so love the fact that she put the two of them together.
Fredi De la Cruz was a witch who had put relationships on hold until she got her magic under control. She had not been with a guy in 6 long months. She would not even allow herself to indulge in sexual thoughts due to blue flames that would shoot from her hands.
Gus Odinson was a wolf shifter who during the full moon could not control himself. He could not find a girl that could handle his wild wolf shifts. He pretty much tried to stay away from women. He just felt like there was not one out there for him.
Fredi’s dear friend decided to put a spell on Fredi and Gus during a full moon. Fredi and Gus could not stray too far from each other due to this spell. Fredi feared she was going to set Gus on fire and Gus was scared he would do something to scare Fredi off.
This is a funny story about a sexual adventure between a witch and a werewolf. Will Fredi be able to get her magic under control? Will Gus be able to get his wild shifting under control? Will the two find true love? Read the book and find out. You will not be disappointed

This is hilariously adorable! From page one I knew I was not going to be able to put this down. It’s a crazy situation to begin with but having friends like these makes you curious about your enemies.

So… the whole set up is that this is technically a blind date. Of course no one included in the blind date is told that it is a date! Which makes this even more hilarious.

From the start you know that Fredi and Gus are going to have some sparks. In this case it is quite literally! I love how the story moved and unfolded even as I was starting to think that them getting into this predicament is ridiculous. I wanted to know how in the world they were going to handle the situation they found themselves in and by that time I did NOT want them to get out!

Really cute, very easy to read, romance. I had no idea what was going to happen while Fredi fought her witchy “set everything on fire” powers and Gus’s turning into a werewolf, but I was excited to find out.

I just have to say, on a side note… the way Katalina Leon describes Gus, I really want picture books. I miss them! Why do kindergartners get all the fun? Sexy cowboys in books should be the EPITOME of a picture book. K, thanks!

Hoodoo Blue is a funny PNR laced with good intentions gone wrong. The Blonde Bombshell witch also known as Fredi hasn't had the best luck with dating swearing it off because with every dirty/erotic thought she has green plasma flies out her fingertips setting things on fire. Gus is a Lycan shifter who hasn't had the best control of his shifting lately. When Fredi's best friend laces the Hoodoo Blue mix with a special potion to keep Fredi and Gus together and talking because she knows they are perfect for each other it all goes wrong. First they blurt out everything that comes to mind and then they can't move far from each other and that radius keeps shrinking not to mention the fact that Fredi keeps shooting green fire and it's a full moon so Gus isn't in control with his shifting. This is a funny funny story I enjoyed it immensely.

Thanks for allowing me to ARC for you once again. Love the book!!!

There is only one way of describing this book and it is - WICKED FUN READ !!! This book had me laughing from start to finish. I loved how insecure both of the characters were when is comes to love. Both have terrible past dating experiences that they have to work through to be open to even allowing themselves to hope for love. If that isn't enough of a challenge to work through they also have to survive having drank a hoodoo potion that makes it so they can't leave each other and they say anything that pops into their heads about the other person. Let's just say some very lusty things come out of both their mouths. LOL I really loved this book. Hey everyone you need to read this book! Trust me you will be happy you did. Thank you Ms. Leon for another great read.

If you are looking for a wonderfully touching and funny read, Hoodoo Blue is for you. It wasn’t deep, it wasn’t bloody, it wasn’t off the deep end – it was just a great story that had me laughing and cheering these two on. Fredi is a witch with “issues”. Gus is a lycan who is all wolf. To say that chaos ensues is a bit of an understatement but it is a hilarious ride. I really liked both of these characters.

If you want to have a fun evening read, this is a book for you. Katalina Leon is a new author for me and I was so very pleasantly surprised. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review however it was on my Wishlist to purchase (from the description alone) and I will purchase it as I truly did enjoy it.

At the beginning of this you meet Fredi, a witch, who seems to be a klutz and has very bad luck. You also met Estele, another witch, who is Fredi's friend and wants to see her with a man. Estele has a problem with her magic always going wrong, and Fredi has a problem with green fire flying from her fingers every time she gets sexually excited.
Estele gets Fredi to go to the bar one night, and makes sure Gus, a Lycan who Estele thinks would be great for Fredi is there. She has the bartender give them a pitcher of Hoodoo Blue, which she has bewitched.
I won't tell how the story progresses from here, other than to say it gets really steamy. The story is well written, and will have you constantly guessing what will happen next.

This is book one in the series and I can not wait until the next one is out! This was a laugh out loud story of Fredi a passionate witch who for the last little while has had her powers go funny, when she thinks of being with someone.Fredi’s best friend Estele sets her up saying she wants to meet for a girl’s night out.In the meantime Gus a werewolf with a very passionate sex drive is afraid of hurting a woman, is to meet his buddies at the same bar! Their friends do not show up and Estele has put something in the Hoodoo Blue drink mix that they share, the bartender does not know about it.There is a Full Moon and these two can not be more than a few feet away from each other. What happens? I was gifted a copy for an honest review barwatts@telus.net

This is the first book that I've tried of this author, and I have to say I enjoyed it. I liked the premise of the story, that alone had me in fits of giggles, but the story itself was refreshing and the characters lovable. The writing was smart and witty and fun, with some wonderful laugh out loud moments. I found the writing had fast past comedic timing which made the overall story very entertaining. It was at times charming and then at others smolderingly sexy. I loved Fredi, she was feisty, confident and sexy & a perfect match for the sweet, hot & hairy Gus. I'll be looking for more by this author.
