Reformed from his days as a bank robber and killer, Preacher rides the badlands with his crew of misfits, doing God's work and spreading the good word. He's not sure everyone can be saved, but he's determined to try. Despite his friends, which include a three-legged dog, a mute Apache and a flatulent Englishman, he gets lonely on the trail, so it seems a gift from above when Hawk shows up, trail worn and needing some good grub and a friendly face. Hawk is a scarred cowboy with a past he can't remember, and he thinks Preacher might be the answer to the itch he can't quite scratch. He's been alone a long time, and finds it hard to trust, but Preacher seems to bring out the best in him, helping him become the man he didn't know he wanted to be. Together, with the help of Preacher's old friend and mentor, Jett, and Hawk's amazing horse Fred, they face an evil like the world has never seen. They ride to the very mouth of Hell itself, all but losing themselves to forces they're not sure they can beat. Can they survive Redemption's Ride? This is a previously published work. The publisher has changed.
Texan to the bone and an unrepentant Daddy's Girl, BA Tortuga spends her days with her hounds and her beloved wife, texting her grandbabies, and eating Mexican food. When she's not doing that, she's writing. She spends her days off watching rodeo, knitting, and surfing Pinterest in the name of research. Following their own personal joys, BA and Julia heard the call of the high desert and they now live in the New Mexico mountains. BA's personal saviors include her wife, her best friends, and coffee. Lots of coffee. Really good coffee.
Having written everything from fist-fighting rednecks to cowboy daddies to werewolves, BA does her damnedest to tell the stories of her heart, which is committed to giving everyone their happily ever after. With books ranging from hard-hitting BDSM, to fiery passions, to the most traditional of love stories, BA refuses to be pigeon-holed by anyone but the voices in her head.
Another dusty pb book that I found behind my dresser in the cat-stash zone. Don't even remember buying it, which means it's been back there since early spring cleaning 2016.
Classic battle between good and evil, set in the Old West. One of my fav tropes--love conquers evil, and love wears many faces. Love is a gift, and if you believe in the strength of that gift you can conquer demons and devils--for yourself, and for others. (Yep, I'm a romantic mush pile)
This was very different when compared to the other works that I have read by Tortuga. It was much darker, but I enjoyed seeing Hawk's struggle for redemption.
This is easily one of my favorite B.A. Tortuga books. It's long, plot-heavy and full of a variety of characters questing in a dark and paranormal spin on the Old West.
