Sometimes the devil lurks in paradise...

Office manager Grace Hinton is used to working behind the scenes at Forge Brothers Security. She knows that the team can’t function without her, even if her long-time crush Benjamin Forge would never be willing to admit it. But when her childhood friend Katie goes missing on spring break, she can’t bear to stay at her desk.

Solving a mystery at the beach surrounded by rowdy college students isn’t exactly Ben’s idea of a great time. He’d much rather hide in his computer cave with the air conditioning at full blast, but even he has to admit he could use some practice in the field—even if it means spending time with Grace and her limitless enthusiasm for driving him crazy.

As the puzzle behind Katie’s disappearance begins to come together, they realize that even the darkest secrets can sometimes hide in plain sight.

Serve. Protect. Redeem.
Forge Brothers Security is a clean and Christian romantic suspense series. Each book is a standalone and can be read in any order. Tropes for Forged in Secrets include grumpy sunshine, friends to more, and she falls first.

“Just because you’re good at putting up walls doesn’t make you invincible.”

Canadian author, Kendra Warden, writes fantastic Christian romantic suspense. Her series, Forge Brothers Security, features private security operatives and highlights protection, serving and redemption themes. The Forge brothers pledge to protect and serve, even if it means putting their hearts on the line!

Where book one featured Cameron Forge, this book features the office manager, Grace Hinton. I love that Warden crafted this protagonist with a heart of gold and enough determination and foresight to keep the operatives focused. She’s no damsel in distress! She’s working with her long-time crush, Benjamin Forge, the resident tech nerd at FBS as they head to South Padre Island at Spring Break to locate a missing person. They inadvertently stumble into more than they expected and Grace and Ben learn to lean on each other and God.

I saw myself in Warden’s characters because I, too, struggle with doing everything myself so that I don’t have to risk anyone letting me down. I’m also guilty of building walls. It was wonderful to be reminded what can happen if we’re willing to relinquish control!

I love Warden’s writing style. The frequent switching of POV allows me to see inside the characters’ minds without the repetition of scenes.

The faith thread is woven throughout this story and showcases two gentle souls who strive to put God first in their relationship and in their work.

Some of the reminders I received:
✔️Choose empathy over judgement
✔️Choose to trust in God’s love when you don’t know what to do
✔️Choose to offer mercy

I’m looking forward to Asher Forge’s (Ben’s twin) story next in Forged in Deception!

I was gifted this copy and was under no obligation to provide a review.

Forged in Secrets by Kendra Warden
Book 2 in the Forge Brothers Security Series
Blog Post: https://bookloveramanda.blogspot.com/...

I really liked this one! Ben and Gracie worked together to find her missing childhood friend, Katie, and there was so much suspense going on! Lots of working the puzzle out if you will - what happened to lead to Katie's disappearance? Gracie is the office manager for the team and they have worked together for a while - she helps keep the team afloat and as a grump, Ben is keeping his feelings at bay - trying not to let anything come up, but as time goes on, he realizes he can't keep them hidden.

Really enjoyed the characters, suspense and the reliance on God in this story. Looking forward to book 3!

Read if you enjoy:
- Clean Christian Romantic Suspense
- She Falls First
- Grumpy/Sunshine
- Friends to More Trope
- Private Security

Content: panic attack shown on page, kisses only, ptsd discussed

You can read this one as a standalone or after reading book 1, Forged in Peril.

Forged in Secrets is a wonderful addition to the Forge Brothers Security series and has grumpy/sunshine and friends to more tropes. I enjoyed Grace and Ben's story which involved them heading to South Padre so they could look into Grace's friend Katie's disappearance on spring break. Grace has PSTD, and Ben has some baggage from his past and has struggled with his faith in God for many years.
Filled with action, suspense, and twists and turns, this romantic suspense story will have you turning the pages as quickly as you can until you get to the end.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All

I did not want this book to end. I was hooked from the start. I learned so much about Ben. His story is one I never saw coming. And Grace! So much more than a front office girl. Without giving away spoilers - I found myself completely confused, shocked, sad, and empathetic towards Craig. Definitely not what I had expected. Betrayals, secrets, and seemingly well intentioned choices that had “catastrophic consequences”.

I was hooked on this series from the prequel novella. Reilly and Lauren’s story was amazing. And then Cameron’s and Bristol’s story. 😭

I cannot recommend this series enough.

3.5. There were some unanswered questions and this book didn’t hold my attention like the first in the series. The writing felt choppy.

I appreciated that Grace seemed to be a deeper and more complex character. I especially liked that she didn't compromise her values because of romantic feelings. She held Ben to a higher standard and was willing to let go of the relationship if their values weren't aligned. She also was willing to communicate rather than let misunderstandings fester. I also appreciated that the wrap-up/ rescue wasn't an instantaneous hero "save the day."

Oh how I anticipated this book and how I loved being back with the Forge Family!

I already knew I would love Grace from the mostly brief encounters in book one. She is so sweet and funny, honest, caring and understanding. I loved how she trusted in God in the most dangerous situations, how she relied on Him and let Him take control instead of letting her anxiety control her and especially how she - very firm but also gently - encouraged Ben to do the same - to put his trust in God rather than himself.

Ben was much harder to read and since he is mostly pretty closed off I didn’t know much about him when I started to read Forged in Secrets. To be honest I sometimes felt completely bewildered by how he acted and I am amazed that Grace didn’t run away from his almost hot and cold behavior. He opened up eventually but getting there was confusing at best, especially because back home, he completely refused to acknowledge not only Grace’s feelings for him (whereas everybody else knows she’s in love with him) but also his feelings for her. Now on this special mission he takes her hand, allows her to feel hopeful, without talking to her, without there being an obvious reason for his assessment that they shouldn’t be together to have changed, only to act cold and distant again. He obviously struggled with a lot of guilt and never dealt with what happened in the past. His reasoning for wanting to be with Grace one second then pushing her away the next because he felt he didn’t deserve her wasn’t always logical. But then, when do emotions and humans in general ever are?

He needed Grace’s patience and I loved seeing how she helped him to forgive himself, to ask for forgiveness from God and to move forward.

As in the previous books I thought it was just the perfect amount of hints and new information here and there, coming from multiple POVs. We get puzzle piece by puzzle piece and I found myself totally immersed in the story, trying to piece everything together. But there’s always a little clue missing or a new question forming until we finally get the full picture in the end. This series is full of action, suspense and even though the criminal actions are clearly presented as wrong, we see characters I would describe as morally gray, driven by desperation, grief or even love for others. We see human beings, not monsters, still not out of reach for a loving and forgiving God and seeing how Grace offered mercy and forgiveness, talked about the gospel and sowed a seed for a relationship with God was just beautiful.

You don’t need to read book one or the prequel novella to enjoy this one, but I assure you you will want to if you like to read Christian romantic suspense - this series is just so good!! And once you get to know one Forge brother you will want to get to know them all!

* Thank you to the author for letting me read an advanced copy of this book. I leave this review voluntarily and the expressed opinions are my own.

Forged In Secrets, by Kendra Warden, plunged me into the deep-end of happiness before stream-lining me into danger and intrigue. Warden’s words tossed my emotions on a whirlwind of action, mystery, and emotion. Benjamin Forge is a multi-tasked Forge brother who keeps his feelings and traumatized days to himself. He doesn’t trust easily. Yet, somehow, the office manager for Forge Brothers Security, Grace Hinton, has begun to breach his wall of trust. When dangerous times enter Grace’s world, Ben seizes the opportunity to help her, as a friend.
Somehow, two very different people must learn to trust and believe in one another to solve the mystery before them. Overall, it takes time for them to learn to work together in the field. However, it soon becomes a reality that two of them is not enough to get answers. Tales are told, innocence is shattered, yet life goes on for the young Spring-Breakers that are living heartily on a Texas beach. Yet, no matter how hard they delve into the lost or missing that no one seems to find, answers are elusive and farther away day by day.
Warden paints her story with words and the scenes come to life as each sentence passes your eyes. Within the words, fear and a tinge of hope capture the essence of a time when dreams could have been made. As Grace and Ben seek to find an innocent young-adult girl, memories of their own times of struggle and fear give them the courage to not give in. Memories seem to shape who they are, but it is a truth that gave Ben and Grace the freedom to know that they are not in control of their destiny – God is.
As this author wraps the reader in her words, the reality of faith, truth, and hope are beneficial in creating a future that encompasses tomorrow’s horizon. I thoroughly enjoyed Forged in Secrets, as it became an almost permanent part of my hands for the entire day. Warden grabbed my attention and held onto it throughout the book – from beginning to end! I give this book 5 out of 5 stars!! In my opinion, the story-telling, as well as the dynamics of the words, kept me enthralled and searching for the truth as well as a happy ending!

Genre: Christian romantic suspense
Content: panic attack on page, one instance of crude language (d-bag), kisses, gunshot wound on page

Recently, I won a paperback copy of Forged in Peril from a giveaway by @meganbookshelf. I read an ARC copy of that book and really enjoyed it. Winning that giveaway reminded me that I hadn’t read the next book in the series yet so I remedied that over the weekend.

Grace and Ben work together (along with almost all of Ben’s brothers) at Forge Brothers Security. It’s common knowledge that Grace has feelings for Ben. When an assignment on South Padre Island comes up, the two are forced to work together…alone. What could possibly happen in a situation like that? 😉

I’m really enjoying these romantic suspense stories right now because I know I’ll get the HEA that I want but WOW, is it a journey to get there! I highly recommend this one and can’t wait for Asher’s story!

Favorite Quotes:
✝️ "In a healthy relationship, you don't have to be perfect to be loved. You get to screw up and you still get to be forgiven.” …It was similar to what their father often said about the mercy of Christ and his special love for those who carried a heavy burden of serious sin. He met them where they were, but He didn't leave them there. Jesus knew all of their brokenness and chose to love them anyway.

😂 She wanted to dive into his arms and tell him she loved his infuriating, stubborn, handsome, stupid face. But that could wait.

❤️"I love you, Grace. I'm done holding back. I want you to have my whole heart. All of it. Stomp it to pieces, bury it in the dirt, toss it into the Gulf of Mexico—so be it. It's yours."

"Even after all that they had been through together, were there still secrets he wasn't ready to bring into the light?

Grace normally works in the office, but when a family friend goes missing, she has to get involved. Ben normally also operates behind the scenes, but his presence makes the most sense due to other team assignments. Grace is thrilled to finally have time alone with Ben. He is not so sure. Secrets do abound in this book.

Figuring out exactly what was going on was a bit challenging. Characters had varying motives. I appreciated the different angles of the case. The "Forge Brothers Security" individuals do appear in the prequel and first book in the series. I am glad that I read those first, but one could still follow along with the storyline if this book was read first.

In a story where the focus is on secrets, honesty is another important theme. So is moving on from disappointment and unmet expectation. Another favorite quote was "In a healthy relationship, you don't have to be perfect to be loved. You get to screw up and you still get to be forgiven." Many times, we do deserve a second chance."

Faith is another important element. Grace has strong beliefs. Ben is on his own journey. I appreciated how they had to evaluate the spiritual side of their relationship.

I did get to read an early copy of this book. I really wanted to read and review it as I had enjoyed the first books in the series. All opinions are my own.

Forged In Secrets is book two of the Forge Brothers Security Series. This was such a suspenseful read. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't stop reading. I just needed to find out how it was all going to end.

Grace has had a crush on Ben for quite a while and she has faith that one day he will smarten up and notice this. She is a strong woman who has an even stronger faith. I enjoyed her complete faith in knowing that all would be alright if she kept her hope alive. This was a refreshing look at life and bringing optimism into even the toughest moments and thoughts.

Ben is dealing with a lot of guilt in his life. Something happened in his past and it has made him think he is a bad person. He has lost his faith and thinks he isn't good enough for Grace, so he maintains his distance from her. It was great seeing Ben working through his thoughts and emotions and reembracing his faith and becoming stronger with that.

This was a great suspenseful read. I found you didn't really need to read the previous books in the series to understand this story. There are some characters mentioned but overall you can still understand the plot.

Do you like clean, contemporary novels? With Christian romance and a dash of suspenseful thrills? Then I highly recommend the "Forge Brothers Security" series by the amazing Kendra Warden!

The Forge Brothers series is clean, it's Christian and it has Romantic suspense—all bundled into one thrilling read!

I was nervous testing the waters in the romance genre, specifically romantic suspense, because it can get a little…*ahem*…spicy. But because this was marketed as Christian, I took a chance and I loved it!

Even without finishing it, I could (and still can) confidently say that Kendra is a beautiful writer with
a clear understanding of her faith and who God is. For my first "romantic suspense" read, I am blown away!
This novel released Wednesday (June 26) and if any (or all) of it's categories interest you, go for it!

When I finished the novel, my first thoughts were "Wow!" and "I can’t wait to discover more about the Forge Brothers!"

I am honored to have been trusted to leave an honest review of this novel—and to have a chance to join Kendra's street team! Mrs. Warden, I look forward to working with you in the future!

Forged in Secrets by Kendra Warden is a chilling disappearance mystery with tensions running high.

I was excited to read this book after the author’s first release and boy oh boy did it have a different vibe. The setting up of the novel had me trying to guess what happened with the mysterious disappearance of her friend. There was danger, and I felt like I was grasping at straws to try and figure out what in the world was going on and how the simple pieces that were provided were connected. When I thought that the book was lagging a bit with the tension between the main characters, the author came in with such a plot twist, I was shocked that I had to read the last bit of the book so quickly.

This novel has addressing trauma, opening your heart up again, and trusting again. Throughout this book as well the author addressed a variety of Christian themes, prayers, talking about God, and maintaining a certain amount of space between a man and woman (if that makes sense) and I thought it was nice to see. It was also nice to see the communication between the main characters.

I recommend this book if you want a second chance lover romance, with a curve ball mystery novel.

Is a sweet clean Christian romantic suspense with no cliffhanger.
Some of the lines I really like ------ “Like herding cats?” ----- “It’s always so amazing to me that God lets us take part in the work of creating. Like, He created the universe from nothing with only His words, and yet He allows men and women to come together and bring new human beings into the world. It just blows my mind.” ---“You’re short-circuiting my brain. It’s dangerous.” -------- She was exhausted by the all day, every day task of hiding away her fear, doubt, and anxiety deep within her where no one ever even tried to look. ----- “in a healthy relationship, you don’t have to be perfect to be loved. You get to screw up and you still get to be forgiven.” -----
Who kidnapped Katie? What does Jade know? All of these and other questions will all be answered.
I loved Grace and Ben's story and I'm sure you will too. I was hooked from the first pages. I can't wait to read her next book.I received a free ARC and this is my honest opinion.

Although this book can be read as a stand-alone; the second book in the Forged Brothers series gives a quick intro for plot/players then jumps right back into the action as it left off in book one, Forged in Peril.

This book follows up on the story that unfolds between Ben and Grace as they race against time down at the beach at South Padre Island TX trying to locate a girl missing from a massive Spring Break gathering. Together they must learn to trust each other and temper their growing attraction in order to get the job done and bring Katie home safely. Plot twists and turns and high-level corruption continue to run rampant for the crew at Forge Brothers Security.

Ben’s struggle to trust anyone but himself – even God - is challenged and Grace’s faith continues to grow as she learns to work as a field agent, seeing and reliving parts of the harsh world and the evil that exists in the hearts of man.

Warden has given us another fast paced and exciting suspense novel with romance and faith elements that are realistic and well done.

Wonderful Christian romantic suspence novel by Kendra Warden. This was book 4 in the Forge Brothers Security series but is self contained and can be read as a standalone. This one focuses on Gabe, the eldest of the Forge siblings and founder of FBS. He finds himself getting drawn into help Demi, a childhood friend, as she gets threatened after overhearing a conversation she shouldn't have.
Demi, a widowed TSA K-9 Handler is independent, strong, kindhearted and a bit of a hot mess at times. Her dog Koda is dverything you want a trace dog to be and more. Valor, a puppy found in the airport and staying with her until properly homed is a handful and a half, but loveable enough to overlook his shortcomings.😉 The secondary characters are equally as compelling and well flushed out (for their station). When the threat to Demi seems to intensify, they also realize the issue may be bigger than they initially suspected. The suspense will keep you engaged and invested as they use every means at their disposal, including their faith, to untangle the web.

This next book in the Forge Brothers series was just as good as the first two. I enjoyed reading about more of the characters from the series, and their story was fascinating and full of danger. The plot was engaging and suspenseful, the characters were realistic and easy to sympathize with, and I couldn’t stop reading! I guessed where the story was going and who the villains were, but there were plenty of other surprises along the way. Grace and Ben’s banter and other interactions were funny, but also sobering at the same time. Just as with the rest of the series, serious and heartbreaking topics were discussed tactfully and with compassion. Biblical truths were seamlessly woven into the story as well. I highly recommend this book and I am looking forward to reading the next one in the future!

Ben + Grace

Grace has it bad for Ben so I was super happy with the forced proximity that happened in this book! These two get to work a case together out of town to try and find her missing friend. I enjoyed this Christian suspense!

Favorite quotes -

But here she was with him, heading out for dinner on the beach, looking completely at home in her own skin and ready to take on whatever and whoever came at her. She was gorgeous. And no matter how much he tried to deny it, he was in big trouble.

Aside from all of the reasons that they would never work, this was dangerous, and stupid, and they’d regret it. But he wanted her. He was beyond denying it, or pretending that if he just kept his distance that their feelings would just fade away.

And though he’d be able to shower away the lingering salt, and forget the fear they’d faced together, he knew he’d never forget this little corner of the world. It was where Jesus had helped a blind man to see.

My favorite thing about Kendra Warden's books are the perfectly crafted characters. I absolutely adored the FMC, Grace. She is the type of Christian woman I aspire to be. Even in the midst of her anxiety and fear she never wavered from putting her trust in God. This is the opposite for Ben, the MMC, who struggled to forgive himself of his past sins. This resulted in him holding himself back, not only from his relationship with God, but from Grace as well.

Overall, Forged in Secrets was a great follow up to book one. It had everything I was looking for; A security operative MMC, suspense, romance, and most importantly, Biblical truth about God's love for his children.

Special thanks to Kendra, for letting me read her book a few days early before its official release! My review was voluntarily given and 100% authentic.

Forged in Secrets by Kendra Warden 4 out of 5 stars. I read this book on Kindle. I would reread this book again and highly recommend it.

“Grace loves God, and she believed He was looking out for her. He knew that, and he wanted that kind of faith that always seemed just out of reach.” This quote right here is why I’m enjoying these books so very much. Kendra has such an amazing way of making the characters, faith and journey so realistic and relatable.

Forged in Secrets is written from multiple points of view, but mainly from the MMC and FMC. I was hooked right away by the story. The pacing of the book and the seamless inclusion of Ben and Grace’s faith was flawless. There were a couple of minor typos.

Highly recommend for anyone 12+. (Kidnapping is a major part of the plot and gets intense.)

Ben Forge and Grace Hinton are given the case of a missing childhood friend of Grace’s. Is it just a matter of her just wanting to have a good time at Spring Break and not telling her parents, or is something more sinister happening?

I liked that there was a case to solve and I had some of the information provided throughout the story. Grace was the epitome of her name as Ben shared his past with her and she helped him let go of his guilt and move forward.

I didn’t enjoy this one quite as much as the prequel and book 1, but I am looking forward to reading the next story of the Forge brothers. I am curious as to what cases and love interests there will be for the other brothers.

I voluntarily reviewed this complimentary copy of the book. All views are my opinion in which I was not required to write a review.

When Grace’s childhood friend goes missing on spring break and the police do not take it seriously, she asks the Forge brothers for help.

Ben, the gym enthusiast/ computer nerd brother gets put on the case for Grace’s friend. There’s a few problems with this, Ben hates the beach and sand. Also, everyone knows Grace has a massive crush on him. So going down to spring break with Grace doesn’t sound fun to him.

While Ben and Grace are down on South Padre Island, they realize there’s way more going on than just Katie disappearing. While working so closely to Grace in the field, Ben is having a hard time keeping his feelings a secret.

I really enjoyed the story of Ben and Grace. The mystery and tension in the book had me hooked and trying to figure out what was going to happen next.

I love, love, loved, this book and could not put it down!

There was so much depth to the characters of Grace and Ben; their backstories and what they have been up against, but also in their friendship, and the possibility of more. Reading about their relationship development gave me all the feelings of giddiness, frustration, and all the things that come with the possibilities of new love.

As Grace and Ben try to figure out what is happening between them, they are also trying to find Grace's childhood friend Katie, who has been kidnapped on San Padre Island. Trust me when I tell you to clear your schedule for a day to read this book because it will keep you on the edge of your seat and you won't want to put it down!

Kendra did it again! I loved this book so much! It's the second one I've binged this month, and it was filled with action, suspense, and romance—I truly didn't want it to end. This book had everything I wanted: grumpy/sunshine dynamics, beach vibes, a Private Security MMC, Christian suspense, and friends-to-lovers. Kendra has a way of beautifully weaving faith and God's love for us through the pages; she had me hooked from the start!

When Grace's childhood friend Katie disappears, she requests the help of the Forged Brothers security team, where she works as the office manager. Along with Ben, who she has admitted having feelings for, they head down to San Padre Island to uncover what happened. What they find is bigger than they imagined, but together with the rest of the team, they bring to light some dark secrets and discover the key to the puzzle.

Best if read in order but can be a standalone. Coworkers and friends since childhood, Grace and Ben are sent on an assignment in hopes of saving a family friend of her's. She's had a known but unspoken crush on him for years. He's pretended not to notice and done everything he can to prevent his feelings from being discovered. Will this joint assignment prove too much and force them to vocalize the truth? Why has he been resistant? What happened to her friend? Can they solve the case before anyone else disappears or gets hurt? How will their relationship stand when they return? Still friends and colleagues or as more?

Great Christian romantic suspense

This is a well written multiple pov (but mostly just the two leads) third person romantic suspense book. With heavy Christian themes throughout, the story follows Grace and Ben as they head on assignment to find a missing person as a part of the forge brothers security team. This book is absolutely a standalone (I haven't read the others in the series) but does have some characters you would know from previous books playing a part in the story to give through readers some fun cameos. I appreciated how the author handled Grace's PTSD and Ben's guilt and secrets coming out to haunt him throughout the story.

Another excellent book in this series. Ben and Grace were awesome and very likable characters. And it was cool they'd known each other for most of their lives, and worked together. I find it always adds a different aspect and feeling to a story when that happens, as opposed to couples who meet and fall in love over the course of the story.

Great plot, and the author did a great job of hiding who one of the bad guys was.
There was some great Biblical truths and thoughts throughout the book, and Ben had to get with the program with God and Grace.

Loved the book, and am looking forward to Ben's twin's - Asher's - story.

Forged in Secrets by Kendra Warden was another thrilling ride in the Forge Brothers Security series. A friend of Grace goes missing and it’s up to Ben and Grace to find her. Going on assignment together brings their relationship to a turning point and I loved watching it happen. I enjoyed the suspense and loved the message of trusting God. A message I needed reminding of. I also love reading about characters whose faith is a natural outflow of their life. I can’t wait for more in this series.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC from the author. No positive review was required. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
