About the author

ELIZABETH M. HERRERA is a shamanic healer and author of life-changing books. Her stories encourage people to stretch outside their comfort zones and reexamine their own beliefs.

She inherited her rebellious spirit from her father who was raised by his grandfather—a full-blooded Apache who smuggled sugar and flour from Mexico into Texas, exchanged gunfire with Texas Rangers and crossed paths with Pancho Villa.

Elizabeth was raised in a Christian home, but lost her faith in her early twenties. For over a decade, she searched for something to fill the void, eventually discovering Native American spirituality (shamanism). Through this spiritual practice, she unexpectedly became a catalyst for healing and miracles. These events led her back to a belief in a higher power.

Always drawn to the spiritual side of life, Elizabeth began her shamanic path in Michigan where she learned to shamanic journey with Stephanie Tighe (a certified Sandra Ingerman instructor). Elizabeth continued her studies through the Foundation for Shamanic Studies for shamanic journeying, soul retrieval, and death and dying (psychopomp), but her major source of learning has been from her spirit guides, who offer limitless guidance and lessons on living a more spiritual life. To learn more, visit her healing website at ShamanElizabeth.com.

Elizabeth is the author of Shaman Stone Soup (Memoir, Spirituality), and Earth Sentinels: The Storm Creators (Contemporary Fantasy), Dreams of Heaven (Spiritual Fiction), and Of Stars and Clay (Science Fiction & Fantasy).

This was a very interesting book. It covered how to connect with your spirit guides and God (Source), how to manifest, how to avoid negativity, and many other things. The exercises at the end of each chapter were very helpful. The author recommended keeping a journal, and listed sixty questions to consider when journaling. It is easy to see how passionate the author is about the subject, and I highly recommend this book.

The author is a shamanic healer and teacher and also a student of A Course in Miracles, which she discovered is the perfect companion for shamanism. She helps us not only by teaching us the miraculous manifestation journey but also sharing her own journey. Some of the Core concepts are: : “The mind is an incredible source of power that is constantly creating; All thoughts contain power… when combined with strong emotions and beliefs… Forgiveness and healing are necessary to remove the blockages; Miracles are your divine right ..Thoughts are more powerful than actions;’- she also wrote that: ‘The best way to receive miraculous results is to rely on the guidance of the Divine and divine helpers for all of our decisions as we move forward with manifesting the life of our dreams.’
Some of the most important messages I found for many of us: ‘As I walked out the door toward the gate that would lead to my freedom, I knew if I didn’t leave my bitterness and hatred behind, I’d still be in prison.” Nelson Mandela’. Also, she explained it differently: ‘When you don’t heal your past, you create a future that aligns with your negative thoughts and emotions. To correct this, the best course of action is to let the Divine heal your past and help you let go of what is no longer serving you… Don’t hesitate to forgive others because when you do so, you are healing yourself.’
She also includes in the book Chapter Questions, which help us to our own path deeper and we are also invited to do journaling and collect our reflections for 60 days.
What I found as a miracle in my own life as well that the support, guidance and love in the universe is just amazing- with a quote: “What you seek is seeking you.” Rumi

I received this e-book in a giveaway so I gave it a try. As an agnostic, I will skip the whole "connecting with the creator" section. I do  acknowledge, however, the positive outcomes of keeping positive thoughts and an open mind; as well as the importance of self-reflection.

Nonetheless, I find the idea that we are responsible for EVERYTHING that happens to us kind of "victim-blamy". Author mentions an slaved person that was able to be freed because of manifesting, which left me wondering: were the thousands of other slaves just pawns of the white owner? Was the white owner just "manifesting" better than the slaved? It just sounds awful. Author says bad things might happen to you because you don't know how to manifest or because it's your destiny so it seems like an excuse, doesn't it?

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I picked this up because despite not being religious, I want to explore my own spirituality more and this book was a great start. The questions were helpful and really made me think about my own life and beliefs, and there are great exercises and anecdotes throughout as well.
