This is the second book in the Trouble series
Note: This book contains mature and sensitive content and is not suitable for readers under 18.
Dee can usually be found in her own world in the early hours of the morning, writing and breathing life into her characters. She loves to write New Adult/Contemporary fiction and understands there is nothing better than a bad boy with a good heart.
After the Prologue, I knew that I would love this novel. It's written in dual 1st person POV, which is awesome. I love the writing style and the characters. I got hooked from the very start!!
I like the flow of the story, it ain't cheesy. I like that Noah likes her but didn't end his man whore ways, coz there are some stories with guys who totally went from being a man whore to a love sick puppy.
Not gonna say much about the story, just that I love it!! can't wait to read more novels from Dee Bridle!
4.5 stars maybe. This one was a sneaker. Set in Australia, I thought this would be just another book about a girl, horribly abused by her father (and mother and boyfriend) and now coping with the world by trying to ignore everything and everyone in it. But, Noah, one of the all time greatest book boyfriends, takes an interest in her and tries to lead her back to the bright side. He is surrounded by a group of interesting and great friends. Slowly the girl starts to open up and find out there is life after abuse. But then her evil father shows up again.
This book threw in everything. Horrible torture and abuse, dysfunctional father/son relationship, MMA fighting, great sex scenes, witty dialogue, and a wonderful love story. None of these various things were really explored in minute detail. Most of the time that was welcome, but once or twice I wanted to know more. Also, maybe there was one or two too many angsty, I don't belong here, moments from the girl, but overall a very good read.
This is the second book in a series, however, it could be read as a stand-alone. It is a suspenseful page turner, and another wild ride from Dee Bridle.
The book has a good flow and plot. The writing is crisp. The characters are well developed, and I enjoyed the main characters in this second book more than I did in the first book. I liked how gentle and caring bad-boy Noah could be. The characteristics of Ivy's and Noah's relationship were positive, and while there were a lot of negative things that happen to them, the relationship was a bastion to each of them.
Both Ivy and Noah are affected by their overbearing fathers. Noah, along with his friends, seem to vent their frustration over their situation with their respective parents by fighting and partying. Noah's tattoos and bad-boy reputation are a facade for his heart of gold. Sadly, Ivy's situation is much more serious. Her abusive father has forced her into hiding and living a life on the fringes of society. While Ivy is damaged by her past, she is not a whiny, sniveling damsel in distress who is waiting to be rescued. I found it interesting that all the young adults in the book seem to come from upper-middle class to affluent parents and they seem to be rebelling against their parent's status quo.
Romance readers will appreciate the HEA.
This "fast and furious" book will have readers knocking on Dee Bridle's door for the next installment in this series.

Escaping Trouble is the second book in a series and tells the story of Noah and Ivy. Ivy comes from a horrifying past. Noah is a tattooed womanizer who doesn't want to end up working a desk job. They meet over a dropped muffin and Noah is intrigued by the tattooed beauty who doesn't fall at his feet like so many other women. Ivy doesn't let anyone in, and with a past such as hers, why should she? As Noah slowly immerses himself in Ivy's life he learns that the terrifying past she's lived through isn't over yet. Together can they keep Ivy safe and end up in each other's arms or is Noah too much for Ivy? I love Ivy and Noah. Although by themselves they seem a bit broken, together they make each other better. They accept each other despite what everyone else sees as shortcomings in them. This book is a perfect second in the series and I truly enjoy that these characters are not cookie cutter conformists to society's "norms". I am looking forward to the next in the series.
Dee writes fantastic stories about characters you can truly imagine running into in the real world. They're messed up, have serious issues, and aren't perfect, but they have amazing hearts and truly understand the meaning of friendship.
This book is about Ivy and Noah.
Noah is the playboy that's always looking for a quick lay. He's recently started going to college and is trying to make something of himself... so he can get out from under his father's influence.
Ivy is the quiet girl that has a horrible home life. She keeps to herself and works to stay alive. All while trying to hide the little money she makes from her drug addicted mother.
This story is incredibly sweet and very heartwrenching. Dee will make you laugh and cry and continually root for the couple. I truly enjoy this series and can't wait for the third book!
WOW again!!!! What can I say but damn this book was also freakin good. Dee Bridle you are awesome and I love your books and seriously cant wait for book 3 to read Will and Janey story. I said when I read book 1 that I love Zac and Ava as one of my all time favorite book couples and now I have to add Noah and Ivy as well. The story was super intense and i loved every word in this book. Noah is a bad ass but with a huge heart when he falls in love and i loved everything about it. I felt so bad for Ivy but Im so happy that she had Noah to protect her and love her. Again thanks Dee for a great book.
it feels like I've waited forever for noahs story, I seriously fell in love with him in embracing trouble!!! I absolutely love this series... I hope the next one comes quick!!!!
I love this series so much <3 This book was so heartbreaking, but Noah and Ivy's story is so beautiful. He is perfect for her! And she is perfect for him!
wow what a great read. I really rooted for her, these are characters you want to do well !! I will go back and read the first one and I can't wait to read will and janey!!!
GREAT BOOK! Excellent character exploration, great writing, interesting plot line! The writing was clear and created a great connection to the characters. The dual-character narration lent a lot of depth to the story. Each character had their own problems, and were able to help each other. The plot was detailed and intricate, without losing its emotional potency. Quite simply, I adored the characters. There were great background characters, with just enough to make the story interesting, but not overwhelming. It was a good length, enough to make you feel like you truly got the whole picture. There was a lot of character development, no sudden or unexplained changes in character.
SUMMARY: Ivy has had a difficult childhood. She now attends college, living off of the money she makes each night, trying to pay for books and school. She's afraid to go home- a word she uses lightly- and trusts no one. Noah has always felt like an outsider. He's never fit in with his family, never lived up to his father's expectations. Noah sees this tough girl, a girl who wants nothing to do with him, and is intrigued. He tries his best to connect with Ivy. Can she ever really trust him? What really clouds her past? Can Noah stand up to his father? Will they trust each other?
the not-so-best parts: This really was a great story.... I think we could have learned a little more about Noah's past. It would have been interesting to learn a bit about the background characters. It was a little strange how Noah depended on his family so much, yet really hated them. Aside from that, though, it was REALLY a great read.
the best parts: I love Noah! The epitome of a sweet and good guy- that's what really made this story great. Yes, the characters made mistakes, yes, there were problems they had to face. But they really cared for each other. I appreciated that their relation developed over time, that they truly learned to trust each other and care for each other. I also loved the glimpses of the background characters- who were depicted much better in this book. And Ivy- a GREAT female lead. She's strong and tough, but has her own problems. Just because she's bad ass doesn't mean she isn't a good person. Also, finally, a girl who can PUNCH. That's right- no slapping here! *side note: there is violence in this book. I appreciated, however, that it was not in a situation where it presented a danger to the characters/was out of hand. That wasn't stated well.... it just seemed like a need to protect, rather than loss of control/temper. VIOLENCE is bad--- but sort of sweet ;) READ THE BOOK!
All in all, read this book if you like a book with good writing, an interesting plot line, and story with a little mystery and a lot of discovery. Well developed, well thought out: a nice story of learning to trust and over come obstacles. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I am glad i read this one first in the series. Noah is a gem of a character and an absolute book boyfriend. He was a Bad boy until he meets Ivy. He falls for Ivy and doesn't fight the fall. Ivy, my strong sassy girl. She is so independent, hurt by people who were supposed to be her support in life. She is a lost soul who tries to stay afloat while girls her age are partying or shopping.
Noah is her knight in shing armor and this was one heck of a story. I liked it.
Ivy did get on my nerves but i wont say she was annoying as the threat was real and she was keeping a secret which could kill her and hurt Noah so she did what she thought was best.
