She doesn’t belong here.

But with her estranged sister missing—and likely under the control of the guy who killed their mámá—Mari has no choice but to enter the country on an unregistered boat in the dead of night. Now she has forty-eight hours to find her sister, take revenge on her mother’s killer, and escape before the authorities even know she’s there…

But there’s nothing simple about it. With few contacts and a trail of cryptic clues, Mari and Detective Tony Garcia—along with her photographer—are caught up in a maze of lies, deceptions, and a sinister undercurrent of Brujería. Witchcraft.

Every lead draws Mari further into a world of shadows, and it soon becomes clear that her sister isn’t the only young woman who’s gone missing. But there’s no one here they can trust. And as they close in on the horrifying truth, one thing becomes clear…no one will let them leave Cuba alive.

All The Missing Girls by Linda Hurtado Bond is not listed as a series, but it is. The first book, All The Broken Girls made Linda a must read author for me and I can hardly wait until she comes out with the next book in the series. They are fast paced mystery, suspense, thrillers that kept me flipping the pages.

Mari, an investigative journalist, Tony, her detective friend and love interest, and her photographer, Orlando, are on their way to Cuba. They may be the main characters, but there are plenty of peripheral characters that shine. They will be entering the country illegally to find her sister, Izzy, who she believes has been kidnapped by Raul, the man who killed her mother.

They were going to make a documentary about finding Izzy, until they find young girls are going missing and the fodder for the documentary grows. It doesn’t matter what she has to do, but Mari is not leaving Cuba without her sister. As they dodge the military and those who want to shut them up, the danger rises.

Whoa…as I read along I quickly figure out where the story was going, but it was such a grisly shock when I got there and Linda took a step further, making it even more shocking than I thought and shivers ran up and down my spine. I hate confined spaces. I love when an author can take something that seems predictable and ratchets it up a notch.

Each book has two mysteries to be solved, one which ends in the book, but it leaves a cliffhanger type ending for the ongoing mystery that will take place in the next book. I can hardly wait to get my hands on Book III, The Phantom Pirate of Gasparilla.

Three o’clock pm, Friday, September eighth. The clock starts ticking. Again

Incredibly mind-blowing and frightening thriller!

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Marisol is a reporter and her sister has gone missing in Cuba. Under the cover of night, she and her two partners take to entering Cuba illegally via boat in search of her sister Izzy. Through unexpected twists and turns, Marisol finds out that her sister is not the only one who has gone missing in the last couple of days. While in Cuba and on the search, she and her team take to documenting for a Netflix documentary. They don't expect to find out that Izzy is not the only girl missing, she's 1 of 4. But will they find her and more importantly will they make it out of Cuba undetected?

This book had my heart pounding out of sheer fright for these characters. Being a Tampa-born girl myself, reading this book brought me back to the Tampa atmosphere. I loved every minute of this fast-paced thriller and cannot wait for the following book. This book was full of mystery, and unexpected turns, and had me clutching my pearls because I just did not expect it to end how it did. I can tell the author weaved a very intricate web of a storyline with this story because it felt like I was in the investigation into the disappearances myself. Closer to the end of the book and what is the climax, this book turns into a horror movie. Being that the authorities are unreliable in Cuba, this story took off in a way that I was expecting to have a horrible end because I am Cuban and have heard many of horror stories of the gov't following people around and doing whatever they want with people, especially people who aren't supposed to be there, like our group of main characters in this book. Read this book, you will not regret it!

Vibes: House of Wax, Saw, Netflix's Lost Girls

Thank you to Linda Hurtado Bond, Entangled Publishing, and Netgalley for the eARC of All the Missing Girls.

This was my first Linda Hurtado Bond book and I was thrilled that I enjoyed the book as much as I did! I didn’t realize going into this that this was the second book in the series but I don’t feel like I was missing key points of information that was critical to this story. It felt like there was history I don’t have but not enough to where this plot didn’t make sense. I do have plans to go back and read the first book and am also looking forward to the next in the series.

The pacing at a few points was a bit slow for me, but not slow enough to pull me away from the story or make me want to put the book down. The pacing would also pick up again relatively quickly. I absolutely loved that I was immersed in Cuban culture and that the author wove facts about Cuba, its culture, and spiritual belief system (in this case Santeria) into the story in a way that I felt contributed to the education and understanding of the reader without feeling like info dumping.

The plot line was compelling and the characters were complex. There was action, some romantic tension, friendship, family, the weight of guilt & responsibility, culture, suspense, and tackling of some real tough, real life issues that deserve far more attention. I am so glad I had the opportunity to read this and would recommend you get your hands on a copy if this sounds like the right thriller for you!

4.5 stars!!!

What I didn’t know before reading this ARC is that it is Book 2 in a series. I’m inclined to say it is an interconnected standalone series because I didn’t have any issue following the story at all and it felt like a complete story until the very final chapter where I became aware there must have been another book with more story to read.

I enjoyed this book. You are dropped right into the action, covering a few days in Cuba. The journey was intense and captivating. I was trying to piece things together has the story progress, attempting to play detective before things were fully revealed lol.

I wouldn’t say the book has a MAJOR plot twist but the story is jarring.

Thank you NetGalley, Entangled Publishing, and Linda Hurtado Bond for allowing me to review this ARC!!!

What lengths would you go for someone you love?

Set in Cuba, this is a suspenseful mystery/thriller with supernatural elements. I loved the original plot which is filled with lies, deception & sinister characters. It started a bit slow for me, picked up along the way & wowsa on the final twist which was a complete surprise!

This is the 2nd book in the Mari Alvarez series, however it can be read as a standalone. I would recommend reading them in order.

Book 1: ALL THE BROKEN GIRLS
Book 2: ALL THE MISSING GIRLS
Book 3: ALL THE CAPTIVE GIRLS (Coming 2/17/25)

Favorite Line: “My abuela is the one person who planted seeds of happiness in my soul and watered those seeds with love and reliability.”

Thank you to NetGalley, Entangled Publishing, LLC, and Linda for the opportunity to read an ARC in return for an honest review.

I was given the opportunity to read the ARC for this book - totally unaware this is the second one in a series until I reached the end where it mentioned the third book (thank god because the cliff hanger has me wanting to read it!) I enjoyed this story on its own despite the fact that I may have missed some story building from the first. I liked the characters, and the storyline kept me wanting to figure out what happened next! Would definitely recommend it to others.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for an advanced readers copy of All the Missing Girls, in exchange for an honest review.

The story begins with Mari's urgent mission: she needs to infiltrate Cuba illegally to find her estranged sister, who has gone missing under suspicious circumstances linked to their mother’s violent past. The stakes are high, as Mari recognizes that her sister is likely in the clutches of the very man who murdered their mother. With only forty-eight hours to navigate the challenges of a foreign land and uncover the truth, Mari’s resolve is palpable.

Bond does an excellent job of painting a vivid picture of Cuba's landscapes and cultures while immersing readers in Mari's turmoil. The combination of Mari's fierce determination and her budding partnership with Detective Tony Garcia creates a dynamic duo that propels the narrative forward. Their investigation leads them into a tangled web of forgotten pasts, local cryptic clues, and a chilling atmosphere filled with Brujería, or witchcraft, which adds a layer of mystery and intrigue.

As Mari and her team dig deeper into the shadows of Cuba, they discover that the issue of missing women extends far beyond her sister. This broader theme underscores a harsh reality, emphasizing the danger and vulnerability that many face. Bond skillfully intertwines social commentary with thrilling suspense, ensuring that readers are not just entertained but also engaged with the deeper issues at hand.

What stands out in *All the Missing Girls* is Mari's character development. Readers watch her evolve from a woman fueled solely by revenge to someone who begins to understand the complexities of her family’s history and the dangers that surround her. As secrets unravel, Mari's journey becomes as much about self-discovery as it is about saving her sister.

The pacing of the narrative is swift yet deliberate, keeping readers on the edge of their seats while maintaining clarity in the writing. Bond’s prose is accessible, making it easy for readers to engage with the plot and connect with the characters emotionally.

Ultimately, *All the Missing Girls* is a compelling read that blends mystery, family drama, and a touch of the supernatural. Linda Hurtado Bond crafts a story that is not only thrilling but also poignant, tackling themes of loss, sisterhood, and the struggle against unseen forces. For those looking for a book that combines action and heart, this novel delivers on all fronts. Whether braving the oppressive heat of night in Cuba or navigating the complexities of familial love, Mari's journey will resonate with anyone who has fought for the ones they love.

If you like suspense/thrillers, *All the Missing Girls* will leave you breathless and wanting more.

I received an eARC for my honest opinion.

Wow, I didn’t know that this was book 2 of the Mari Alvarez series, and now I need to read book one. This book will take you on a ride through Cuba with Mari, Tony and Orlando. They’re all there looking for Mari's sister Lizzy who sent a text to her sister using their own code, saying that she needed help and couldn’t leave on her own. This book has everything that I love in mystery books; it’s a thriller, with twists and turns throughout the plot, it has perfect amount of suspenseful moments, look through the eyes of what people in Cuba dealt/deal with (of course not everything in the book is real), I loved that even though this was a mystery/thriller you will find a small amount of romance in the book and it doesn’t take away from the plot at all but for me it added another layer of the story. I found that the author’s writing was easy to read and flowed, I liked that pace was fast, and there was something new on every page.

I found the characters to be well developed, and easy to connect with or to relate with. I liked that with Mari, you will find a smart, determined, resourceful female character, she is also loyal to her family and friends. She will do anything it takes to make sure that her sister is safe, even though she is still mad/hurt with the truth that she found out in the first book. You will see that Mari will do whatever it takes to bring her sister home safe. While she is out looking for signs of her sister, she finds out there are other missing girls, all around the same age. The journalist in her, can’t help but find the missing pieces to where her sister is and find the other missing girls while is at it. I liked that she is smart, but at the same time you have the need to find the truth as well, so you will see a side of her that will push at topics that are not talked about in Cuban culture.

I will be reading the first book now, and I can’t wait to find out what is going to happen in book three after the ending in this book. This author is already on my top list for mystery/thriller books.

I want to thank NetGalley and Entangled Pub for the opportunity to review this book.

ebook Review – All the Missing Girls – Linda Hurtado Bond
I’ve been a longtime news watcher of Linda Hurtado – a Tampa Bay television news anchor – but now I’m an interested reader of her psychological crime thriller series, Mari Alvarez, who’s a female TV news crime reporter. Linda blessed me with an advance ebook version of the second book in the series, “All the Missing Girls” and after reading, I will go back and read the first book, “All the Broken Girls.” Although the second book, All the Missing Girls can be read as a standalone, it was done well enough to spark my interest in reading the first book in the two-book series. This thriller takes readers on a tumultuous journey to Cuba, to rescue Mari’s abducted sister from the man who Mari also believes killed their mother. The story thrusts the reader into some truly terrifying scenes, including a sinister encounter with “Brujería”, which is Latin Witchcraft. The tale also introduces readers to the Cuban dark side of “Santeria” – an Afro-Cuban folk religion developed from the beliefs and customs of the Yoruba (West African) people that incorporates some elements of the Catholic religion. All this was very intriguing and fascinating to me. The book is well researched, mystically plotted, and suspensefully told. Main protagonist Mari Alvarez is sharp, determined, clever, and devoted. I found myself rooting for her from the very beginning. Hurtado Bond’s knowledge of Cuban culture is authentic and commendable; she writes vivid, precise, and realistic descriptions. Surprisingly, I enjoyed this book. I really didn’t know what to expect, but I ended up being captivated by the convincing narrative. The ebook is authentic and easy to read – 350 pages – with good, shadowy undertones in an impressive Cuban setting. Thank you again Linda for my advance e-copy. I’ll be adding the paperback version to my library. A faithful watcher, and now reader as well.

ARC Review to All The Missing Girls by Linda Hurtado Bond
* * * * *
An epic thriller/mystery just buzzing with tension and sharp energy where you did not know what to expect next, and diving right into the chaos head first.

Under the black moon, our girl Marisol and her team enter Cuba illegally to find her missing sister...only to find out dear Izzy is not the only poor young woman in danger.
Chasing a man who could be a murderer with guns raised.
Finding bodies and bleach and blood.
People in her way who are lying or keeping secrets or just straight up strange.
Bullets and explosions and epic get aways!
Broken girls can turn into warriors.

Did not know what to expect when going for this book, but my nails are now just about chewed off. At the beginning of chapters, we are even given a countdown! That's one way to build up suspense!
Now I need to got back to All The Broken Girls because damn!
Was entranced by the authors writing with their description of events and details which just pulled you into the deadly shadows and had you feeling all that was felt by our main characters as they stepped into danger. Even at the end of chapters you cold be left to a small cliffhanger! Of course, towards the end, stuff just gets crazier on who takes sides, truths coming out. Then...DUN DUN!!!!

Book: All the Missing Girls
Author: Linda Hurtado Bond
Rating: 4/5 stars

This mysterious and suspenseful thriller was a 4-star read for me!
The short yet adrenaline-filled chapters, the twists, and suspense throughout all made this read incredibly enjoyable. Although the beginning of the book started off a bit slow, once the background knowledge of Cuba and Cuban culture was established - it was a fast-paced race against the clock to find the main character's sister who has gone missing.
I enjoyed that the knowledge that was provided to readers was done so in a tasteful and educational manner that really strengthened the plot of the book.
The characters in the book are well written, and I found myself reading quickly through the chapters to find out what happened next. The twists kept me on my toes as I was reading, and the ending of the book leaves readers with a nice transition into the third book that will be released in the future.

This novel is the second book in a series, but I read it as a standalone and will definitely be going back and reading the first book.
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a thriller that focuses on the storyline taking place during a time crunch.

I will preface this review that I believe in order to fully benefit from the story in this book, you should read book 1, All the Broken Girls. I don’t think it would be a successful standalone as you miss out on background that I believe is pretty crucial for story and character development. In book 1 we learn about Cuban culture, but in book 2 we are “taken” to Cuba.

Overall, this was a fun and twisty read. I enjoyed catching back up with Mari, Tony and Orlando in this book and learning more about the side characters we met in book 1. Mari and Tony’s slow-burn and tension-filled relationship is evolving, as well as her investigate skills as they seek out the whereabouts of her sister, Izzy. During their search for Izzy, they learn of many other missing women and begin to place the puzzle pieces together in order to complete a mission of not only saving Izzy, but the others. With the government turning a blind eye to the missing women, and omissions and lies told by those they find to question, it seems like Mari, Tony and Orlando are playing a dangerous game and the costs are high.

I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Thank you Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for providing me an ARC to read and review.

Thank you to @entangled_publishing and @authorlindahurtadobond for the gifted e-book.

This was a thrilling and suspenseful ride.

Mari Alvarez, a television reporter in Florida, sneaks into Cuba to rescue her sister and bring her mother’s murderer to justice in the states. With her videographer, Orlando, and her Cuban-Anerican police detective friend, Tony, they embark on a journey to find her sister before they have to meet the boat to take them home. They have 48 hours to find her. What they find is that her sister is not the only girl gone missing. As they investigate, they find the truth, and it is darker and more disturbing than they could have imagined.

Despite not knowing there was a prequel, All the Broken Girls, I found this book thoroughly engaging as a standalone read. The suspense heightened as the clocked wound down, with the intriguing depiction of Cuba and the deep exploration of its cultural practices. Mari emerged as a resilient, resourceful heroine, and her steadfast bond with Orlando and Tony is heartfelt. The tantalizing conclusion set the stage for the sequel, "The Phantom Pirate of Gasparilla," promising another exhilarating race against time.

If you enjoy suspenseful thrillers, this book is a must-read! This book will be released on August 19.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for gifting me a digital ARC of the new book by Linda Hurtado Bond. All opinions expressed in this review are my own - 4.5 stars!

Mari is determined to get into Cuba to find her missing sister, whom she fears is under control of their mother's murderer. Along with her cameraman and a detective, they enter the country illegally in the dead of night, with the clock ticking on how long they can stay. They soon realize that they are being watched and may not make it out alive.

While you can certainly read this as a stand alone, All the Broken Girls is a great book that I would recommend reading first. In that book, Mari is on the hunt for her mother's killer. In this book, she is still hunting for him, but now she fears her sister may be in big trouble as well. Just as in the first, the author's real life anchor job makes Mari's story more real, and I loved the Cuban plot line once again. This one definitely has a creepy, scary vibe to it, as Mari realizes that her sister is not the only missing girl. The reality might be one of the creepiest things I've read, but there's also a touch of romance. It ended on a cliffhanger so I can't wait for the next book!

Book: All The Missing Girls by Linda Hurtado Bond
Themes/Tropes: Thriller, Twist and Turns, Unlikely Heroes

Mari Alvarez is a reporter that heads to Cuba with her friends Orlando (documentarian) and Detective Tony Garcia after receiving a note that her sister Izzy needs help. Mari has been dealing with the murder of her mother at the hands of Izzy’s boyfriend Raul and the recent death of her grandmother. Meanwhile in Cuba she finds a darker mystery when girls start to go missing. Mari must race against the clock to not only find her sister but also to rescue the other broken girls as well.

This is the second book in the series but it easily stands alone. There is some call backs to a the previous book (I am assuming since I did not read that one) but there was nothing that drew my attention away or made it so I couldn’t enjoy this one. It is a thrill ride of a mystery that kept me guessing the whole time and I simply couldn’t put it down wanting to know what happens next. There are some twists and turns that I enjoyed and this is one I would recommend for those who love to read a good thriller.

The book "All the Missing Girls" by Linda Hurtado Bond isn't officially part of a series, but it actually is. After reading the first book, "All the Broken Girls", Linda became a must-read author for me.These books are fast-paced mysteries filled with suspense and thrills that kept me eagerly turning the pages. Additionally, even though this is the second book in the Mari Alvarez series, it can be enjoyed as a standalone story without missing any important information.

I really enjoyed being fully immersed in Cuban culture in this book. The author skillfully integrated facts about Cuba, its culture, and spiritual beliefs (specifically Santeria) into the story in a way that felt educational and enriching without overwhelming the reader with information.
This author really has a knack for infusing every page with mystery and magic. The unexpected ending leaves readers on another cliffhanger, indicating that there will be more to come.

I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series, "The Phantom Pirate of Gasparilla".

I went into All the Missing Girls with no prior knowledge of Linda Hurtado Bond's writing, as this was my first experience with her work. I also didn't realize that this book was the second in a series. Although it reads much like a standalone, I felt I might have been missing some key points.

This thriller, narrated by Mari Alvarez, takes us on a harrowing journey to rescue her sister Izzy from Cuba and from the man Mari believes killed their mother. The story plunges us into some truly terrifying scenes. I don't think I ever want to encounter a tourist attraction like Oshunvilla again—yikes!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was well-written, and the twists and turns made for a wild ride. I particularly loved the Cuban setting. The descriptions were so vivid that I felt as if I were actually there, which was incredible, especially since I have never visited Cuba.

Thank you to Entangled Publishing, NetGalley, and Linda Hurtado Bond for offering me the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

They took her sister. She'll take revenge….

Mari Alvarez is a crime reporter in Tampa and has been in some tricky situations, but she never expected to find herself illegally sneaking into Cuba. When her estranged sister goes missing she feels like she has no choice. Detective Tony Garcia and long time friend Orlando Jones is there to help but they are on their own. When they discover her sister isn’t the only woman missing, they start to realize then chances of them getting out alive aren’t good…

This dark thriller will have you on the edge of your seat! It’s fast paced from the very first sentence and has great twists and turns. Mari is smart and resourceful and I was immediately rooting for her. They end up in some darker corners of Cuba and this book definitely takes a dark turn!

I really liked how the author wove Cuban culture into the story. I didn’t realize this was the second book in the series but it can definitely be read as a standalone (I’m going to go back and read the first one!)

Both Mari and Tony have ties to Cuba and things they need to take care of there, so when Mari’s sister goes missing the two go there on a secret visit with Mari’s cameraman, Orlando. While she is a reporter and Tony is a detective, they are essentially alone in their rescue mission in a foreign place. They have a limited time to find her sister and to complete their other tasks, and the race is on. As they are uncovering her sister’s steps, Orlando is there to record everything they see, including the others who do not want them there and to solve the disappearance of her sister. Their quest leads them to Oshunvilla, and it seems like everything is tied there: it turns out there are even more missing girls. This book made me think I need a secret message for my sisters too. While this mystery does reach a solid conclusion, it does end on a cliffhanger that seems like it will be the next case Mari and Tony will work on.

This is an interesting story about Mari, a reporter, who is searching for her missing sister in Cuba. Since she is unable to enter the country legally, she and two friends, with the help of some contacts, enter the country illegally. While there, we learned a lot about the culture of Cuba and the types of things the residents viewed as important. Someone always seems to watch them as they search for Mari's sister. One thing that becomes obvious immediately is that many young female tourists have gone missing recently, and they all have some similarities. There's some background information on Brujeria (witchcraft), an important aspect of the story. I don't want to give too much away, but Brujeria and the god's people pray to play a large part in why there are so many missing people along with a heartbreaking story. This story had the perfect amount of suspense to keep you on your toes.

In All the Missing Girls, crime reporter Mari Alvarez travels illegally to Cuba to search for her missing sister. She finds more than that when she discovers there are a number of missing girls. Dealing with the local culture and superstitions, she tries to navigate her way around with the help of some local friends. It's all very tense right from the start.

I really liked this. While there were a few slow spots, it moved along quite nicely and had a good level of action sequences. I did like the insight into Cuban culture.

This is the second book in a series about crime reporter Mari Alvarez, but it works well as a standalone and it made me want to read the first book in the series, so that's a good thing.

Overall, an engaging mystery / thriller with suspenseful atmosphere throughout. I found Mari to be an interesting character and wanted to know more about her. There is a cliffie, so beware you will be left wanting more.

If you are in the mood for an on-the-edge-of-your-seat, up-all-night thriller, All the Missing Girls is the book for you! Television reporter Mari Alvarez sneaks into Cuba with her videographer and her friend, a Cuban-American police detective. Mari's mission: Rescue her sister and bring the man who abducted her to justice. Mari soon discovers that her sister isn't the only missing girl, and the truth about what's happening to them is darker than she could have imagined. Mari is the best kind of heroine - smart, determined, resourceful, and loyal - and you'll root for her from page one.

The book takes readers to parts of Cuba that tourists don't see and introduces the dark side of Santeria's religious practices. It is the sequel to All the Broken Girls, which I highly recommend as well, but this book is easy to follow even if you haven't read the first.

Talk about thriller! Immediately we are dropped on a boat as we follow Mari Alvarez on a quest to find her missing sister.

However, Alvarez has 48 hours to enter Cuba, illegally, to look for her sister who she believes was taken by her mother’s killer. She is joined by detective Tony Garcia and photographer/longtime friend Orlando Jones as they try and untangle of web of lies and deception.

What they uncover is terrifying and leads them on a wild chase through Cuba.

This book is action packed and definitely leaves you feeling anxious and eager to understand what is happening. Umm also, that ending?!

My understanding is that this is Book 2 in the Mari Alvarez series, but I believe they are somewhat stand along. I didn’t find myself feeling like I needed to read Book 1 first, but I will definitely read it before Book 3 is released!

Thank you Entangled Publishing for the ARC!

This book is gripping from beginning to end.

The writing is well done, the pace is fast, and the research that went in to this story is top notch. I love how the author can literally take us to Cuba in an authentic way.

I love how the story is so clearly thought out and there is development in all the right places.
The characters reel me in. I think Mari is my favorite and she grows the most. She is determined and resourceful. She will stop at nothing to find the truth. This is true grit and I can relate to her quest.

There are so many interesting and thrilling moving pieces in this story, it literally kept me guessing from beginning to end (which is tough to do!).

I didn't know there is a book one, so I'm going to check that out...right now!

Can't wait for more!

I did not know this was book two of a series, but it worked well as a standalone novel. The story jumps right in to Mari's sister, Izzy, being missing in Cuba. Mari and her friends, Orlando and Tony. illegally enter Cuba to record a documentary and find Izzy.

This book was very entertaining and I was able to read it in just a few hours. It was intense and suspenseful, and right when I thought the author had enough, there was yet another twist waiting to happen.

I'm surprised I was able to figure out the main villain and their means of action. The author was very clever by crafting a nightmare-type situation, and she did an excellent job describing the scene. Not only that, but she perfectly set up the third book. I'll definitely be back for more!

Thank you to Linda Hurtado Bond, Entangled Publishing, and NetGalley for the eARC. This is my honest review.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Unfortunately, this one is a DNF for me. I think the premise sounds intriguing and there's no issues with the writing. For me, the story was hard to follow and get into. I read through to chapter 6 and had to stop because I continued to feel confused about what was going on. The story jumps right in and the pacing is quick so you get a lot of information right away. There were many characters introduced so quickly that I'm still not really sure who some of them were or whether they were important. For readers who enjoy a quick paced book, definitely give it a try. Maybe after a while things start clicking and making more sense.

What would you do to find your missing sister? Join Mari, Tony, and Orlando as they enter Cuba under the cover of darkness and have only 48 hours to find Izzy and return to the boat dock. Almost immediately things begin to go sideways, and they find that Izzy isn’t the only missing girl. There’s something evil in Cuba and many forces are working against them as the time runs out.

Can they find Izzy and the other missing girls in time? You’ll never see what’s coming in this spine-tingling thriller! It will keep you on the edge of your seat as you race through to find out what happens next! While it’s the 2nd in a series you can definitely read it as a standalone. Loved this book and hated to see it end!
