I am older than the target audience for this book. I remember the Care Bears but I think I was older than their target audience when they first came out, so I really didn't know much about them until I read the introductory pages of another Tale from the Care Bears book that introduced the bears and what they represented.
In this book, Timothy is acting out at school and Friend Bear helps him understand why school is important and find ways to make the lessons interesting or relatable and how to make friends (by smiling rather than making faces).
My elementary school library had three or four of these books. I tracked them down on eBay to see the covers, but I can't find the plot descriptions. I know I really loved these books and can still remember where they were kept in the library.
A very cute story, involving Care Bears, one of my daughter's childhood favorites, and teaching a principle of learning by using your imagination, and excelling in good behavior. A great book for kids, especially if they are having a bit of trouble in school.
