Hidden Desires
After a string of disastrous blind dates, Cayden Riley has sworn off of women. A somewhat cranky woman to begin with, she really doesn't like people much, but loves working at her pet boutique, "The Fuzzy Belly Deli." Brooke Hewitt thought she was happy in her relationship with her stockbroker boyfriend, until the day she and her dog, Fred, wander into "The Fuzzy Belly Deli." There, she meets Cayden, a woman that Brooke can't stop thinking about. Brooke has never questioned her sexuality, but there is something about Cayden and she just can't shake it free. The encounter changes both Cayden and Brooke, disrupting both women's lives- in many ways.

I love animals. All animals. I have a few dogs and a cat. The cat is mean. (And shady) One dog is iffy. I work in animal care for the last 15 years, of course, and love my job, even when it is a poop fest.
I started writing with fan fiction, way back in 1999, after becoming tired of reading the exact same stories with new character names. A friend of mine suggested that if I am tired of it, I need to write my own. So, I did.
I wrote without an inkling of actually publishing. There wasn't even a *seed* of an inkling. It was purely for fun, and as I picked up more fans, for their enjoyment.
I am a breast cancer survivor, and I am always there to help and assist my friends with their diagnosis, as this disgusting epidemic continues.

Green eyes stared into blue... Blue eyes gazed at green... Small blonde... Tall brunette... This is going back to the good old days of lesbian fanfic. I feel now fifteen years younger!

Cayden and Brooke were so funny, I was smiling and laughing throughout the whole book with their antics. A very well written romcom with interesting MCs and supporting characters. Read this book years ago and I can’t help myself to read it again lately. Definitely reading it again in the future😊

The writing style makes what is a fairly simple plot feel overly long, I've seen the same general story play out on half the pages. Too much time spent on the protagonists being horny, having sex or fantasizing about sex, but that's my personal taste. The best friends act a bit too quirky and come across as unnatural a lot of times, like you're watching a sitcom. The romance's development feels off as well, at least in one spot: one moment one of the characters still has misgivings and vehemently refuses to pursue a relationship, in the next she does exactly that and tries to learn how to woo her princess. It doesn't make a lot of sense.
Still, it's nice and funny and heartwarming in enough places to be enjoyable.

So funny, loved it from beginning to end.

It's too long and repetitive. Nice story but should have had a dramatic editing to cut the story (at least) half shorter.

The first time I read this, I liked it a lot. Now re reading it a couple years later... Brooke's mom ruined this for me. She was so damn annoying I found myself being forced to skim any part with her in it. Sadly it ruined a lot of the story for me.

I like the playfulness and assertiveness in their romance but I did find the writing unnecessarily long and repetitive. Also I asked myself repetitively how old Brooke is because her character on many occasions behaved like a child...I don't know if that was to be or just bad writing
