Are they looking for ward to their very special day?
Ten little princesses all shout, "Yay!"
Ten little princesses set off on a journey to a magical fairy tale ball. But on the way to the ball there's a dark and spooky forest, and a wicked witch, and a big bad wolf, and a sneaky troll, and a hungry giant! Will any of the little princesses get to the ball on time?
Meet all your favourite fairy tale characters in this perfectly princessy adventure: Little Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, Snow White and more! With lots of things to spot and count on every page, this bouncy rhyming story from the creators of the highly acclaimed Ten Little Pirates is perfect for sharing again and again.
Taj, age 5: I love this book so much that I want to see all of these princesses and I know I’m going to see the princesses cause I’m going to Disney World.
I got this book for our library to add to the always popular Princesses collection - in fact it is a great fun read that references lots of traditional tales, has a lovely rhyming structure, and cute illustrations. the shiny, sparkly cover doesn't hurt either. This book is always popular with princess loving girls - and boys - who can't choose just one as their favourite: Snow White, Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty, the Big Bad Wolf, the Frog Prince, Beauty and the Beast, Jack and the Beanstalk, The Three Billy Goats Gruff and more are referenced, and this is a great mentor text for our K1 Stories unit of inquiry, encouraging children to retell familiar tales in their own words.
I love all things princess, and this board book is a very cute addition. I love how quirky it is and how the rhymes are (almost) perfect.. I just can't get paw and four to rhyme perfectly and have it sound natural. And coupled with Rickerty's drawings I spent a lot of time just looking at this book.
Terrible! The princesses get eaten or kidnapped one at a time, or just follow a perfect 🤴 in a second. It's supposed to be against this cliché, as the last princess alive asks for help and kinda saves them all, but no, it simply doesn't work.
This book also tries to be diverse, but at the end, the only surviving girl is a blonde-haired white girl.
Terrible. The princesses get eaten, poisened and whisked off by handsome princes. Would be fine if there were a version where princes or knights get eaten, poisened or whisked off by beautiful princesses. There isn't.
Encouraged counting backwards. My daughter had it dissed by the 3rd time. And we loved the illustrations, great fun, colourful and diverse! I would recommend to aged 2 and above for a fun bedtime story.
Ten Little Princesses is absolutely brilliant. Although it's just a counting book it successfully weaves in ten classic fairy tales, giving you the opportunity to explore more stories with your child in the future. The illustrations are very simplistic but sweet.
Muy divertido y al final todas tuvieron una fiesta me encantó el final, al final pusimos mi niña y yo la canción de la chona y empezamos a bailar junto con las princesas del libro y fue el toque más divertido para pasar la hora de cuentos.
Ten Little Princesses are on their way to a fancy ball when one-by-one, page-by-page, each princess falls victim due to a stereotypical princess fate. One after the other, the princesses come face to face with (the good) charming princes, frog princes (and the bad) poisoned apples, big bad wolves, hairy beasts, giants, dragons and trolls! This book is very clever and honest-to-goodness funny. The book is filled with easy, sing-songy text that rolls right off the tongue. On top of all that, this is also a top-notch counting book, as we count down backwards from 10 happy to 1 lonely princess, which is not something many counting books have to offer. This book has superb illustrations by Simon Rickerty that are vibrant and comical and silly-scary and friendly all at once. This book was so perfect, we of course had to read its “brother” book, Ten Little Pirates! Read more at www.diapers-and-daydreams.com
A clever little story linking to classic fairy tales. I read this to my 4 year old granddaughter and she loved it, reading some of the words. We even sang the opening of the book to '10 green bottles' tune. This would work well with younger children too, who could count the princesses as you go along. Entertaining.
Ten princesses are off to the ball on their ponies when one by one they are picked off. Brownlow has taken classic countdown formula and combined it with a witty combination of fairy tale characters. Everyone from the Big Bad Wolf and those dangerous apples to the Beast and the Giant atop his beanstalk make an appearance. Can a Fairy God Mom save the day again? Perfect book for any pink, princess, fairy tale fan.
We got this book a few months ago and my 2.5 year old daughter asks to read this every night. She loves counting down the princesses each page and making the big noises written on each page. It is a cute book with cute illustrations.
