Agile is one of the most popular software development methodologies used by organizations all over the world. It is characterized by adaptability, flexibility and self-organization, but what does it mean to truly "be" Agile instead of just "doing" Agile? This book offers in-depth commentary and explanations on the Agile methodology's foundation, the Agile Manifesto. Larry Apke, a seasoned Agile coach, uses his own experiences to provide a clear, understandable path to implementing and succeeding with Agile for organizations and individuals.
Steps through the Agile Principles, one by one, offering thoughtful commentary on each. It wouldn’t be the best introduction to Agile, but as a quick refresher on the original concepts — at arm’s length from any particular methodology (though perhaps a little too heavy on BDD at times) — there’s as much distilled into this book as into many ten times the length.
A Great Primer to Agile approach for product development
Easy to read. Was able to pick up core principles of Agile quickly. While there are many other books about this subject, use this publication if you just want the straight facts without fluffy talk.
A short reading of the Agile principles. Does not discuss in detail and most explanations given are of the "I once knew a team that..." kind. Feels like a coach trying to sell you a course.
The author gave very elegant description of the agile manifesto which is very clear and straight forward, but in many occasions he mixed it with his personal preferences and opinions. But still the booklet delivers what it promised in its title.
