“She was the endless darkness between life and death. Bitter, and consuming. A poison I couldn’t stop drinking, and a cold lake I wanted to drown in. Their souls were one, but Isolde had taken everything Evlyn’s life had to give and sharpened it into power.”
Isolde: Being pulled from the wreckage of an elven ship by bloodthirsty sirens, I was now surrounded by an entirely different set of creatures with claws and teeth. Achelous, the Father of Sirens and son to the blood mage Medea shines a light on Caspian’s hunt for the mythical blade, the God Killer. His finned daughters are nothing like how I had imagined them, they’re worse, and they are weary of my foul magic. Achelous is reluctant to join the war on the continent, but when the siren’s home is attacked by the Elf King, he’s Helbent on revenge.
Everyday the darkness grows louder and more corporal, and I swear that I can feel its frigid breath on my neck when it whispers its sweet promises of power and revenge. After traveling with Cadmael, the messenger god who followed me overboard and onto the Elven ship, and the siren Thelxi to the City of Souls, we find out that Silas’ depravity knows no bounds.
If we usurp the treacherous Queen Athalia who will sit on the Arramorian throne? Who will be the voice of humans, in a war wielded by villainous gods and wicked creatures?
Death: Watching Isolde die the first time was painful, and every other time was like ripping my heart in two. She now knew that I had taken her first life in a twisted deal with the darkness, but what she didn’t know was the depth of her attachment’s powers. This ancient, unfathomable being is manipulating her in front of my eyes and all I can do is plead with her to push it away. To not take the deal I did.
The greatest fear of a creature who’s claimed power is that someone more cunning and vicious will steal it from him, and Isolde just might be that creature, but she still doesn’t know the whole truth. Her world with Caspian is a lie, and the truth might not set her free.
“Living with my partner and an array of animals in New Hampshire, I enjoy traveling the world and writing stories that make your heart hurt and question your morals. I was influenced by the rise of Anne Rice, dark southern gothics, and epic fantasies by Carissa Broadbent. I spend far too much of my time reading Dramione fan fiction and thinking of new ways to break hearts.”
A Secret Shared With Sirens is book 2 in the Gods From the Oblivion series by Ariella Isabella. I loved the first book and could not wait to read this one as well! This book is written in a way that I can really feel the emotions of our characters, especially when major events are happening.
This book has a lot of development with the overall plot and I love that we got to see more of Achelous, the Father of Sirens in this book too. Low key loved the banter between him & Isolde early on! Isolde is full of her sassy energy, with a side of rage that makes me love her a bit more. She is on a mission and does not take kindly to those keeping things from her.
And then we have DADDY DEATH…omg I’m such a freaking simp for him. I loved him in book 1 and I literally want more of him always. The spice with his shadows always has me panting and I can’t get enough! He is so possessive over Isolde, but to a fault at times.
While I don’t normally love books where the politics of the world are a big focus, I literally could not stop reading this book and wanting to see how things would play out. It becomes clear that Silas is doing way too much, but how will the alliances play out to remove him from power and try to make things right…only time will tell.
What to expect: -Shadow daddy & mommy -Unique magic -Blood mages -Man eating sirens -Reapers and undead soldiers -Political intrigue
Thank you so much to Ariella Isabella for letting me beta & ARC read this book! All opinions are my own!
First, I need to stop starting a book series that isn't done being published yet...ugh!!!! With that said, the book was amazing!!! The characters are phenomenal, the storyline never falters, and you don't want to put the book down. Isolade drives me insane with her antics and piss poor choices in the name of revenge, but damn! I'm already looking forward to the next book (2026), which just means I will have to (happily) reread the 1st two books again!
Thank you for the e-arc Ariella, if I thought the first book was intense, nothing could have prepared me for the rollercoaster ride that is Isolde's quest for vengeance. A Secret Shared with Sirens picks up immediately where A Secret Shared with Death left off, plunging Isolde into peril as she finds herself separated from both Death and Caspian.
We delve deeper into the complexities of Isolde and Evlyn’s characters and soul, and the darkness that continues to grow within Isolde. As she grapples with her inner turmoil and unrelenting thirst for revenge, she faces a powerful internal struggle—torn between her desire for Death and the haunting connection she shares with the brooding fae king, Caspian, who has marked her.
The cliffhanger at the end was nothing short of mind-blowing, I'm not sure how I'm going to wait until 2026 to find out how the final book resolves everything!

Firstly, a huge thank you to Ariella for giving me the opportunity to be an ARC reader for A Secret Shared with Sirens in exchange for an honest review.
Aghhhh, where to start?!! I loved it! A Secret Shared with Sirens is absolutely fantastic - I devoured the entire book in about 3 days. It takes place immediately after the events of A Secret Shared with Death and we’re back with Isolde following her capture by the Father of Sirens, Achelous.
Isolde is still on her path for revenge against Silas for the massacre of her village and trying to secure alliances with Caspain and the Fae to enable her to protect Arramore. Meanwhile, Malek/Death wants to protect Isolde from the growing hold the darkness has over her and stop War on the continent.
Everything steps up a notch and I’m here for it. The Gods are choosing sides, more secrets threaten to come to the surface which affect the potential for new alliances…or enemies, and Isolde has her own internal battle to contend with as the darkness continues to whisper in her ear, promising her power and retribution…
Isolde needs to keep her wits about her as she navigates the court politics and attempts to win alliances to achieve her goal. She’s already shown she’ll do what it takes to survive, but in a world where men hold the power, is she manipulating them or is she merely a pawn in their endless games?
I loved the further exploration of patriarchal oppression in this book and how Isolde tries to manage in a world, much like ours, that is not made for women. I really identify with Isolde and I love her as the FMC and protagonist. My heart broke at times with her:
“I took a deep breath, steeling my nerves. Trying to swallow down the rising sense of panic. By the time these males were done with me, would there even be any of me left?”
ASSWS has me on the edge of my seat throughout. I adore the characters, the plot, the politics, the magic…I don’t know how I’m going to manage to wait until 2026 for the conclusion of Isolde’s story!
A Secret Shared with Sirens is released in January 2025!
4.5/5 stars 2/5 spice The best way I can describe this book is a dark melancholy feeling paired with feminine rage. Okay I might not be selling it with that description but once you read it you’ll understand. It was a pivot from book one in the sense it really let you see more of the raw emotions that got each of the main characters to this book. Isolde killed me at some parts, I wanted to scream at her but that’s the wonder of Ariella’s writing. You really feeling all the emotions and imperfections of each character. Is Isolde flawed… absolutely, infuriatingly so but you feel so much for her. Maybe it’s just me and I know people will dislike her but I love a character that is hard to love, that makes mistakes and isn’t the perfect FMC who swoops in and fixes everything. Instead Isolde is a struggling person with deep grief that’s bled into rage. She is willing to sacrifice everything including herself to seek justice. It was hard at different points to watch Isolde’s pathway with the darkness but I didn’t want to put this book down. I feel like this book hurt in different ways and the loss of some characters heartbreaking. Speaking of other characters you’ll fall in love with the side characters and if your like me will love the sirens. And we can’t forget Daddy Death who is still dark, and dirty. God I’m hoping her gets a HEA, and we get more spice with his shadows. There’s so much more captivating parts added into the story line such as the darkness, more of the mad king and so much betrayal. I’m so anxious to see what happens next because again we’re left with so many more questions. Secrets are leading to more destructions and it will have you screaming.
This is the second book in the Gods from Oblivion series, a dark fantasy romance about a human woman (with magic) in a world of gods, elves and fae. There are numerous very dark elements to this story, as well as a few spice scenes, so please read the trigger warnings.
Tropes and themes include: ✨Shadow daddy & mommy ✨Love triangle ✨Antihero FMC ✨(Almost) everyone is morally gray ✨Possessive & overprotective MMC ✨Political intrigue
Rating: 4/5 Stars 2/5 Flames
The Lovely: I love the MMC, Death, not only because he’s a shadow daddy (duh) but for how imperfect he is when it comes to the FMC. You can tell from his POVs he does love and care for her, genuinely does, and wants to protect her. But, he’s absolutely horrid in how he shows her those feelings, still driving her away. I love the tension this creates between the two.
The Mundane: This second book felt like a very different vibe from the first book. Book one was full of angst and trauma, with a good heap of romance, whereas book two felt lighter on the romance and didn’t pack the emotional punch. I can see one reason for this but can’t elaborate without spoiling. I’m hoping in book three we return to that emotional romance that I loved book one for.
Recommendation: I received an advance review copy and my thoughts are my own. Well, the FMC is still a ball of fire and possibly even more angry than before. I definitely wasn’t expecting the final twist at the ending and I have a fair amount of rage at a certain character for continuing to keep secrets. Like, really, this could have been prevented buddy. Ugh. I am anxious to see how the “situation” is fixed, hopefully in book three.
Without being rude I am so glad this book is over. For my kindle saying its 455 pages it felt like a 700-page book. It took me an ungodly amount of time to read it, and I had to take a break and read another 400-page book in between that was only 400 pages. So, I am unsure what is going on with the pacing of this book was it was ALL OVER the place. One moment I was enthralled with the story the next it was like trudging through quicksand. I do not feel like any of the characters developed very well and Isolde was the exact same no matter what her character seems like it won't grow. Isolde's story felt stagnant, and it was extremely frustrating that she falls flat each time. The other characters have some growth. She consistently makes bad decisions with no forethought that her actions have consequences. I am unsure at what point is she going to learn her lesson. I would like to continue the series because I think it does have potential, but I think if book three continues on this same track I am not sure I will continue. I feel like nothing really happened in this book except for the last 100 pages. There was a lot that could have been cut out and more plot events could have been added.

In A Secret Shared with Sirens, the author builds on the dark, brutal world established from the first book while delving deeper into the history of the gods and the secrets that divide Dꫀׁׅܻɑׁׅ֮th, Isolde, and Caspian.
Isolde continues on her mission for vengeance and her unwavering determination of saving the mortals. She’s still reeling from the truths uncovered and remains frustrated by being kept in the dark.
I loved the supporting characters introduced and their storied pasts and colorful personalities. The connection Isolde shares with Dꫀׁׅܻɑׁׅ֮th and other key players is so nuanced and I can’t wait to see how everything falls into place in the next book!
Thank you to the author for the ARC opportunity! This is my honest and voluntary review
I think this series has a lot of potential, and overall the book kept me engaged. By the end, I did feel a bit confused as the romance aspect doesn’t really seem to be there in any leg of the love triangle.. and sudden love square(?) adding a possible sapphic love interest in the mix — which I am not against at all, but it felt very out of left field.
I found the Darkness one of the most intriguing characters. I’m really curious to learn more about it (him? Them?) and the origin story of how it came to be with Isolde. I also like Malek and his “I’ll burn the world for her” vibes. The banter between the characters (both main and side) was fun.
While I understand ARC copies are unedited proofs, I hope a lot of editing attention goes into the final copy as there were *numerous* formatting and spelling errors. I don’t usually factor this in my rating, but it was much more than is typical and at some points detracted from the experience or caused confusion.
Overall, I’m interested and invested enough in the story that I do want to continue with the story.
Thank you to the author for providing an eARC, thoughts and review are my own.

Rating this 3 stars when I absolutely loved book one in the series is a bummer. The first book was such a great introductory novel and I was anticipating this one from the moment the last one ended. Unfortunately, it fell so flat overall.
Isolde basically spends these 450 pages galavanting around the kingdoms causing destruction. In this entire book she doesn’t grow as a a character and that frustrated me. Even terrible characters have transformations. Isolde sees what’s happening as a result of her actions, on top of multiple people telling her what will happen if they do what she wants and she still doesn’t understand.
I really hope the next book is the last because I don’t know if I can continue the series if that one fizzles out like this one did. This also felt way too long for the amount of plot and story that we got. It took me 19 days to finish whereas I usually finish a book in 3 days or less. There seemed to be too much filler for me to want to pick up often.
I adore all of Isabella’s work so if you’re seeing this review and are thinking about starting her work I would recommend giving her novellas a start. My favorite is “The Blood is Life.”
Thank you so much to Ariella Isabella for this ARC!!
I’ve been the biggest fan of Ariella ever since I signed up for A Secret Shared With Death. The first book had me in an absolute chokehold the entire time and this one was no exception!
Isolde continues to be a badass and I just love her so much. She’s impulsive and the definition of feminine rage. She will do whatever it takes to get what she wants. She’s extremely driven and I admire her so much for it. I think she’s one of the most complex and diverse characters I’ve ever read.
Once again, I’m obsessed with Malek. I love him so much. He’s another one of those complex characters who keeps you guessing but as always, I’m a sucker for the tortured bad boy.
This book had me on my toes and at the edge of my seat the entire time. I absolutely loved the addition of the sirens and all the new characters that were introduced! We also got quite a bit of background on Evlyn in this story which of course was fascinating.
Omg where can I start with this review?! I LOVED this book. A Secret Shared with Sirens is to die for. Absolutely dynamic. The power balances are chefs kiss and I am HERE for the FMCs path for revenge while battling her own inner demons (literally)
The Gods are getting involved like never before and Isolde needs to learn how to navigate court politics if she wants the war to swing in her favor.
My heart shatters for Isolde as over and over again it is shown that everyone around her views her as a pawn in their own game or a prize to be won while shes still trying to figure out who she is and what SHE truly wants despite everyone else's influence.
Finally, a huge thank you to Ariella for giving me the opportunity to be an ARC reader for A Secret Shared with Sirens in exchange for an honest review. Reading this book is a highlight for my year and it's going to be difficult waiting to learn how you wrap up this beautiful trilogy in 2026
I was so happy to be back in this story with shadow mommy Isolde, especially after that cliff hanger in book one!! Isolde is such an amazing FMC who continues to surprise you with how strong and resilient she is after everything she goes through in this story. I love Ariella’s writing so much and I loved seeing how she wrote Isolde’s character (no spoilers🫢) in this book. It was done so so well! We got some great new characters! Thelxi and Cadmael 🥹🥺 God of Death was very prominent in this book and I was here for it 🤭 In typical Ariella fashion she left us on a cliff hanger again and I need the next book 🙃 thank you
I read this as an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Ah! No! I don't want to wait again! This is torture! This series has me hooked and won't let go. There are so many players involved now and so many secrets I was so hyped and BAM to be hit with that ending. I feel like if my heart could scream, it would. I feel like Isolde is going to go through so much more. I Definitely want to see more of Caspian, I don't know how to judge his character yet. I'm so curious about his end of the story. It definitely has me anxious. She is also very stubborn but I see why. Uhg. Those damn whispers
A Secret Shared with Sirens didn’t work for me. While the world-building remains intriguing, the plot felt convoluted, and the characters lacked the development needed to keep me invested. The pacing issues from book one persist, with too much exposition and not enough payoff. The romance felt forced, and the stakes didn’t hit as hard as they should have. If you loved the first book, you might enjoy this, but for me, it was a struggle to finish.
This is the second book in a series and picks up right after the events of Secrets Shared with Death. I got to read both of them back-to-back. i loved that in this book we get Malek POV it really added to the story and kept it moving along. Isolde is fighting for her purpose and this book ended with a bang. I can’t wait to see what happens next. it’s going to be epic.
I normally love a strong-willed, independent, feisty FMC but for some reason Isolde rubbed me the wrong way.
The MCs aren’t likable. The FMC is too short-sided and the MMC thought the best way to protect his love is to hide her/keep her ignorant. No thank you.”
I did like some side characters and I will probably still read the third book because I have this thing where I need to finish a series even if it’s not a fav 😩
I have been chomping at the bit to know what happened next for Isolde and I was so excited to ARC read A Secret Shared with Sirens, Book 2 in the Gods from the Oblivion series and we pick right back up from the ending of A Secret Shared with Death.
Isolde will do whatever it takes for revenge on Silas and to claim Arramore. She must work with unlikely allies, trust no one and deny her feelings towards Death after learning his betrayal.
Isolde is not afraid to use womanly charms to get what she wants but when she uses herself towards Death and Caspian, will it truly end with the results she desires? Death only wants to keep her safe but Caspian has his own agenda.
More and more truths are coming to light and Isolde is truly in the dark on a lot of things while she struggles with the darkness within her. When she is finally close to what she desires, her world gets turned upside down yet again and we are left with a consuming cliffhanger.
“Will you continue to sacrifice the world for a soul you can never have?”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️
What you’ll find in this book: - Dual POV, Gods and Monsters - Shadow Magic, Underworld - Political Intrigue - Man-eating Sirens - Magical War - Anti-Hero FMC - God of Death
Oh I could talk about the continued world building in this book for hours, Ariella has done the most incredible job of marvellously continuing to develop this dark, cruel and beautiful world filled with magic and bargains. Steeped in Gods, monsters, magical and political intrigue this book grips you in a vice from page to page.
The dual POV in place works to only enhance an already amazing story, which definitely centres around Isolde predominantly. We get to read as Isolde continues her quest for revenge which at the start of the book has lead her into the arms of the sirens. From this point onward we travel across multiple different realms and locations with Isolde’s continued character development and her interactions with the darkness lying within her. Having said this the book wouldn’t be what it is without the whole other array of characters that we meet within this story, both those we know and those that are new to us. With Deaths POV also being in place, we get the flip side to this amazing story, providing us with context to the reasons behind the decisions he has made. Death has a no nonsense attitude but in this book you feel his desperation and his gentle side, providing a beautiful contrast to Isolde’s revenge driven nature.
Page after page the story flowed beautifully, with multiple new characters, interactions and information reveals the pacing was perfect for the dark and gripping tone of the story. The story followed a progression that to me natural when it comes to the situations of the characters, however I didn’t not see the ending going in that direction. Having said this it was absolutely perfect when it comes to taking me by surprise and providing us with a cliffhanger that left me craving more.

Thank you to the author for the e-arc! I can’t wait to read the rest of this amazing story. Book 1 was a rare 5 ⭐️ read for me and I’m sorry that that wasn’t the case here. Overall I did love this book, and Malek is shaping out to be one of my favorite book boyfriends. I love the dynamics between him and Caspian also. The only thing I did not like in this book was unfortunately Isolde. She was all over the place with her behaviour. She was going from 0 to a 100 all the time with no reasonable explanation, and she made many plain bad decisions before thinking. I hope she gets back on track of being smart and cunning as she was in book 1🤍 That’s all, can’t wait to read more about this world Love, K❤️
I hate that the premise is good. If it was as bad as the editing, i wouldnt have had to read the sequel too. Unfortunately, the idea was good. Unlike the editing, or the dialogues.
The FMC is still as annoying as in the first book. Useless, selfish and juvenile. I cant recall exactly how old shes supposed to be, but she seems to have the reasoning skills of a 15 year old.
The author spent 3+pages describing an unimportant castle, but 2 books in, im still not quite sure what the Oblivion is. A theme that seems pretty damn important.
”I’ll never be able to let you go, Isolde. I need you—like the stars need the blackness of the night sky. There cannot be one without the other.”
Book 2 continues with a really cool and unique world building! We are introduced to new gods and demigods with lots of secrets and betrayals coming to light. Death continues to be my favorite part of the story and my favorite POV chapters. He is fighting to keep Isolde and this world together to the best of his abilities despite so many people pushing back. Isolde…. Oh Isolde. I have never come across a character that is written SO WELL but is so damn unlikable. She is incredibly frustrating and needs a damn therapist lol I found myself sort of wishing her POV chapters would end because she was making such horrific and selfish decisions — this may be what pushed me to more of a 4 star rating. But again, she is SO WELL WRITTEN, and I think it’s more than okay to have a FMC that is like this to add to the storyline. I was crazy on edge with the ending, so much was happening and at stake. And it was quite a cliffhanger! Despite my frustrations, I will 100% continue this series because some serious shit is about to go down.
In short: drama, magic, and enough plot twists to leave me spiraling.
This is book 2 in the Gods from Oblivion series and I was here for it all! Okay, let’s start with the obvious—Death (yes, that Death) is chef’s kiss. He’s broody, possessive, and hopelessly bad at showing emotions. You can feel his love for Isolde in his POVs, but wow, does he need therapy. The tension between them? Electric. Think of Violet and Xaden from Fourth Wing and you have very similar characteristics!! Speaking of Isolde, she’s angrier, fiercer, and ready to burn it all down for revenge—and I’m rooting for her. 🧜♀️ This second book has a different vibe from the first—less angst, more secrets, and a lighter romance punch. Gods are picking sides, dark whispers are tempting Isolde, and court politics are messy in the best way. Is Isolde playing the game or just another pawn? Although I feel like she has this all planned out, only time will tell!
I highly recommend this series if you love: – Dual POV – Gods & Monsters – Shadow Magic – Underworld – Political Intrigue – Magical War – Man-eating sirens • • Special thank you to R&R Book Tours and the author for having me on this thrilling reading tour! 🥰🧜🏼♀️
A Secret Shared with Sirens picks up immediately where A Secret Shared with Death ended…wet and dark…and not in a sexy way. Isolde finds herself in the clutches of the sirens in a dark ass cave — separated from Death (#teamdeath) and Caspian (meh). Cavernous, dark, and unnerving is both how the siren cavern is best described along with Isolde’s state of mind when that pesky “Darkness” starts talking to her.
I love Isolde and how fierce she is, and understand a lot of her decisions are spurred on by her anger and overwhelming desire for revenge - but sometimes I want to shake the shit out of her, tell her to pop some Xanax, take a breath and chill. Then I’d hug her and tell her to go get her broody Death boy because I’m Team Death. Because if I’ve learned anything in my life, it’s that I will always go for the broody, possessive, walking red flags that absolutely suck at showing/expressing their emotions. Luckily we get Death’s POV in this book so even if Isolde doesn’t know what he’s thinking, we do.
The wait for book 3 is going to be rough but worth it. Thank you to Ariella for the ARC!
I need book three for answers, stat. As with the first book, I really enjoyed the world-building in this series. The romance took a back seat to all of the politics and secrets winding their way through the plot. We get to see a lot more from the sirens in this second installment and I was so here for it.
I loved the addition of Cadmael and Thalxi. Malek continues to be broody and obsessed with Isolde while working to stop a war. Sometimes, I just wanted to shake some sense into Isolde, but I was rooting for her. The characters all have their own goals, and clashes build up a lot of tension in the series.
Getting to see chapters from Malek's POV was so welcomed; it really added more depth to his character. Isolde was also more introspective in this book, and her mental anguish and thought process dragged me in from the first chapter.
This book is for those who love Gods and monsters, political intrigue, magic, revenge, shadows, and twists and turns that want you to know what happens next.
I really enjoyed this one! It kept me engaged from beginning to end. It is told in the dual POV of Isolde and Death. It is book two in the Gods from the Oblivion series and picks up right where the first left off. Isolde is still full of rage and wants revenge for the killing of her village. She is rescued by bloodthirsty sirens. In a world full of monsters, her darkness grows, and she learns more about her power. She must decide what to do as she could be the end of everything. I still have a love/hate vibe with her but still found myself rooting for her. Death is in love with her and he is possessive, moody, and can’t share how he feels in a good way. He wants to protect her and stop a war.
There is political intrigue, more secrets, morally gray characters, and I can’t wait for book 3 to see what happens.
In this instalment we get a deeper look at the lore of the Oblivion and the gods. I was really looking forward to finding out more about the character who appeared in the epilogue of A Secret Shared With Death so this met my expectations and I loved it. Seeing more interaction between Isolde and Death was rewarding, the spice really got going pretty early on and it was a dark delight. I felt this sequel was much darker than the first and more introspective for Isolde. She is warring with herself, her desires AND those around her about what steps to take next.
Ah! No! I don't want to wait again! This is torture! This series has me hooked and won't let go. There are so many players involved now and so many secrets I was so hyped and BAM to be hit with that ending. I feel like if my heart could scream, it would. It definitely has me anxious. She is also very stubborn but I see why. Uhg. Those damn whispers
