When “they” found him, it was in the middle of a Mexican desert burying a body…

Still, it's not the worst thing Adrían Delgano has ever done during his time as an enforcer for a major Brazilian cartel. Yet, the fact remains that someone took him down with a tranquilizer, abducted him, and then dropped him off in a Moroccan villa surrounded by armed guards around the clock.

And he doesn’t know who “they” are.

However, the idea of being part of a weaponized, vengeance-seeking, ghost unit is too tempting to resist. Plus, it comes with million-dollar payouts, access to weapons, combat training, and the villa's private chef, Sayeda, whose entire identity he's pretty sure isn't real.

Yet, he finds himself wanting to be her hero, her protector.
Two things he's never been.

Things take a mysterious turn when, while shopping in a Moroccan market, a fortune teller steps into his path and delivers an ominous "It’s through your first love that you’ll find your true love."

nooooo

I didn’t want this to end. What a story and not at all what I was expecting. Brilliant and I’m so excited to learn about the Omega team. This was a great introduction and love the cameo of the alphas. This book makes you want to go back and read the whole series as although it can be read alone it does tie in to the other books as the teams, Alpha, gamma, omega and Delta (unknown team) are being controlled by an unknown organisation known as Central. The first 9 books (yes nine!) focus on the Alpha Team. The A team. But in the final book they learn they are not the only team and that’s where Adrian Delgano comes in. He’s a part of the Omega team but we also learn of a Gamma team. The series is so worth reading. Strong men, each with their own story and strong female love interests. And then there’s Giorgio Pozza! There are no words to describe him except you won’t be disappointed. Silent but deadly and oh so possessive. Iydktgtk

I also got a little confused with this book. At one point, I had to take a break and read something else. It wasn’t a terrible story, it just felt disjointed. I’ve tried to get into K. Alex Walker books but it’s hard. I’m not sure if this is much of a romance book either. Lots of violence and action, but I had trouble getting into the characters. I did like the drops of humor here and there though. But still, I don’t feel any motivation to read more of this and continue on to the next book of this story. It just didn’t grab my attention or interest. Adrian and Sayeda’s story requires you to really pay attention or you will end up confused like me lol

Talk About Confused

*****Spoilers*****

I was confused from start to finish while reading this book and have even less clarity after reading the extra stuff that came after the book ended. Delgano was nabbed from Brazil where he was an organized crime runner and taken to Morocco to join an elite militaristic unit. He's not sure who took him but they have a proposal for him. It's not evident what that proposal is for much too long after the story begins. What we to know is that he's isolated except for guards holding guns on him wherever he goes in the house he was brought to, a girl who is supposed to entice him, Hannah, who is also cousin to the chef, Sayeda. Sayeda is cloaked from head to toe but not for religious reasons and she regularly lets real details about herself out to Delgano. Sayeda is only at the villa to make Delgano's meals and has a backstory that's connected to why he's taken. Sayeda becomes much more to Delgano and he to her throughout the story. We learn that Sayeda's mom didn't raise her but seems to be trying to keep Sayeda alive by hiding her because some other unhinged assassin operative has a list with Sayeda and Hannah's names on it meaning they need to die. is also a therapist who tries to get into Delgano's head. In the end, I'm sitting here wondering WTF.

Too much about this book is secretive and clandestine, so much so that it loses it's intrigue and gets annoying. The whole time I was reading I kept waiting for whatever shoe was going to drop that would give me a clue and be able to tie things together. Delgano and Sayeda spend a lot of time together, she makes him breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. Delgano is a virgin who can't get past the arousal stage with a woman because he has some mental trauma related to his mom. He knows he likes women and he really wants to, but although his body gets ready, it dies when it comes to penetration every time. We learn that Delgano requires an emotional connection to do the deed but the one they picked out for him isn't it. For Delgano, Sayeda is it and she's also a virgin. They admit their feelings for one another, then they trust, and Delgano joins the group, and he goes on missions and training. Sayeda and Hannah are in danger, Delgano thinks Sayeda died but she really didn't, instead she's using a contact to help her stay ahead of the assassin. People pop in and out, weird relationships form, Sayeda and Delgano don't find one another again on the end. Instead, he finds Sayeda's twin sister Ayesha somehow some six years later and has a thing for sis or something. I don't know. This book was doing too much and not enough at the same time.

Anyway, my review is probably as jumbled as this book made me feel but it's only fair I think. In any case, I wouldn't read this one again and don't want to try and continue to untangle the web that I suspect will be subsequent books.

A slow burn

In this slow-burn tale, Adrian's journey unfolds like a delicate dance between life and death. From the moment he awakens in a mysterious Moroccan house surrounded by guards, what begins as an irksome kidnapping swiftly transforms into a complex web of alliances and survival instincts. Adrian, a seasoned enforcer, finds himself thrust into a world where every decision could mean the difference between breathing another day or meeting an untimely demise. Enter Sayedah, the chef shrouded in mystery. As Adrian navigates the treacherous waters of his new reality, their unlikely bond blossoms amidst the chaos. Sayedah becomes not only his confidante but also his light in the darkness, where he finds himself embroiled. There is also Hannah and the shadowy figures behind his captivity pulling the strings. Adrian's path to self-discovery is paved with danger at every turn. Just when you think you have a handle on where the story is headed, a twist of fate throws everything into disarray. The climax is as heart-pounding as it is unexpected, leaving me on the edge of my seat and hungry for more. In conclusion, Adrian’s story is a thrilling ride from start to finish, taking me back to the future and bringing me to the present. Connecting the dots of why Adrian is so fixated on Ayesha. With its intricate plot, dynamic characters, and moments of sheer hilarity, it's a must-read for anyone craving adventure and intrigue. Don't miss out on what promises to be an unforgettable installment of the series.

4.5 ⭐

Man, I didn't realize part two didn't come out yet. That's ok. I just have to wait a month... I just have to wait a month... 😆

This was good! It took me a minute to settle in because I felt like I didn't know who to trust. But later on things started to become clearer.

I also felt like it took me a minute to connect with the MCs for the same reason. It felt like they were under the light of suspicion for a minute. 🧐

But then when I got them, I was all in for them. So because of how things came together I bumped it up from 4 to 4.5 ⭐. The ending wasn't how I thought the story would go so I'm more than ready for book 2!

Delgano

While this book leaves a very tantalizing web of unknowns, it encumbers my full understanding of what happens next…

Mora, as it appears, is in an all-knowing powerful position to mislead at her discretion…. Now the question arises, “Is she playing cards to keep herself safe or she really wants her daughter free from the clutches?”

Sayeda has been running and has an angel for protection…. Will the team be able to reconnect herself with her heart?”

Adrian was pilfered from his home to join a clandestine group to serve others…
Will Adrian be able to pull off the perfect obedient servant only to reach the perceived untouchable? What will happen when Adrian learns the truth about Sayeda’s survival…

Well-written intricate cliff-hanger…. How long before the next gem drops? I see some similarities with a few nuggets you dropped. I have to revisit the series to see if my suspicions are accurate…

Oh my, forgot to mention Hannah… Where did she resurface once she healed? Will she be in search of Dear Aunt Mora…

Absolutely a page tuner from start to finish. I awwed, I cried, I screamed, especially towards the end of the book. So many twists and turns kelt me on my toes and jumping out of my bed.

I felt all of the emotions. I loved Adrian and Sayeda's intro story. It was heartfelt until obstacles got in the way. Mora deserves the worst type of pain. She and Central all going to HE double hockey sticks.

I love how everything towards the end truly started connecting. All of the pieces were laid out and it built a beautiful beginning love story as well as build the foundation for many other parts of the series as well. Adrian always had a big role in the series since early on, and he's just getting started.

I can't wait to see him go against this fake enforcer who's a part of the same Cartel he was in and get Sayeda back. I hope Sayeda opens up to him again, full on. I need the extra out of the way! And I also need a scene where Gio takes out Novi.. it's actually so necessary.

I'm truly excited for The Enforcer. I need this book with the quickness !!.

Enjoyable

What a captivating story with amazing characters that are enjoyable with a relationship that is entertaining and drama filled. The couple has a sizzling chemistry that burn up the pages. The story is full of vengeance and suspense that I really enjoyed. This is a must reads by this author. It makes me a fan. It a has strong and brave woman and a man who will fight for his family even if it's consider as right or wrong. Of course their steamy connections. There are interesting twists with so much excitement it will keep you on the edge of your seat. This is a little slow but fast paced at the end especially this story, but I'm happy that I enjoyed reading this author. It's intriguing with a enjoyable plot it will keep you turning pages until the end. I enjoy every moment of the couple's relationship they are the kind that I can't put my reader down until I finished the story if you are like myself you will enjoy it because this is definitely a excellent romance!!. This is the kind of story that has you cheering for everyone.

Review of Delgano at bottom of page!

I really, really, really don't like repeating myself but I feel that some of you are sleeping on K. Alex Walker—for those in the backrow—this phenomenal author's name is ... K. Alex Walker. She is on my shortlist, drop everything, buy it, read it authors. She DOES NOT disappoint! She knows how to keep her readers on the edge of their seats and best of all she knows how to put all the pieces of a story together—she's flawless!

Her Angels and Assassins books should be made into movies. The Angels refers to the future wives of the assassins and the men in their lives. These guys are the GOOD BAD guys. Men you call when you want the best of the best on your six—yes, I learned this phrase from this series. They are brothers-in-arms, military men working together for an elite Black Ops/Paramilitary Ghost Unit. Who ya' gonna call?! The Assassins!

Yes! It's required that you read all the books in this series before you read Delgano, it will enrich your knowledge of the characters, their relationships and their respective backstories.

Here are the A&A books in order:

The Wolfe (Book 1) - Taylor & Gage
The Protector (Book 2) - Dez & Larke
The Anarchist (Book 3) - Julien & Ari
The Dark Knight (Book 4) - Gio & Mo
The Shadow (Book 5) - Mike & Xara
The Darkest Knight (Book 6) - Gio, Mo & Aleski
Hidden in the Shadows (Book 7) - Xara & Mike
Requiem for Love (Book 8) - Joel, Ayesha, Adrian, Josiah, & Theo
Delgano (Book 9) - Adrian & Sadeyah

Here's the AMZ link to these books: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09SBR9NX8?...

My Favorite Characters
My favorite assassin/babysitter is Gio, he is certifiably crazy and I love him!
My favorite angels are Ayesha & Xara, they are both total sweethearts!
My favorite kid is Theo Savea, he will steal your heart!

I would be remiss if I didn't at least mention that Joel was previously married and has a sort of prequel story that I believe overlaps with Requiem. Suffice to say, I don't like Sydney, she didn't deserve Joel because she's fake & phony, she's also a liar and cock-blocker who tries to keep Joel hanging on when his attention is straying elsewhere.

A Fighting Chance (Novella) - Joel Lattimore
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C2ZSMDCN/...

Adrian Delgano makes his first appearance in Requiem, he is Ayesha's former lover, yes—Ayesha actually had good sex after the death of her husband. Ayesha eventually ends the relationship but continues to be friends with Adrian. Adrian continues to hold a torch for her despite the threats and presence of Joel Lattimore. When Joel becomes the man in her life, he is not happy to discover her connection to Adrian and the two men become quasi-enemies (not really). They do come to an understanding and when Adrian risks it all to make sure Ayesha and her kids are safe, he becomes so much more to both Ayesha and Joel.

Now on to Delgano ...

This is Adrian's origins story and we meet Adrian (he's 24) after he's been kidnapped after the completion of a burial job. He wakes up in a heavily guarded house in Morocco and he's given a choice—live or die. He is thirsty and hungry and his hungry for him (he's NOT interested) female handler Hannah introduces him to the in-house chef named Sayedah.

He's intrigued because Sayedah is covered from head to toe with only her eyes visible. Over the coming weeks, they banter and quibble and slowly they become friends. Sayedah helps him overcome a painful past and he becomes her protector. Meanwhile, Hannah and others train him to become an even better assassin. When he discovers the pay-scale he is definitely onboard.

In a pivotal scene, Adrian and his team members are given a task that's a fools errand and they rush back only to find out ... I'll leave it there, so you can read it for yourself.

Lastly, a guess this is a new thing with this author where she writes one hilarious scene in her story. Unless, you're a total sourpuss, when you get to this scene you will know. Just thinking about it makes me laugh my ass off. I look forward to more Angels and Assassins stories in the months/years ahead. Don't sleep on this book or this series.

Highly, highly, highly Recommended: Read It!

New character to this series, I was excited.
However, that excitement turned to some thing else...pure confusion. This book had me on a roller coaster. I was really engaged with the mystique of the H/h, Adrian & Sayeda, how they meet and evolve. It has suspense, mystery, definitely a love story with some good unexpected surprises with them as characters and their back story, and was absolutely a page turner. Getting to know the 2 MCs was great, however the storyline around them was more convoluted and confusing the more I read. I have read the rest of the series (except for the last Joel/Ayesha book). Love most of this series, even read a couple books several times. With this one- I dont know who are the bad guys, how Adrian or Sayeda got connected with the main group of the series, how he ends up involved with Ayesha (old character in a different book), what's up with "the list"...you name it. I normally enjoy this author's books, and love this series, but I was disappointed with this one. This storyline was so confusing for me. It felt all over the place without good connections to the series. I don’t even get where we are in the story or who the MCs are at this point. It felt like someone lost the end of the story that would summarize and lead you to the actual cliffhanger. But it could just be me🤷🏾‍♀️, chose for yourself.

Adrian, an enforcer for the Chamas Cartel in Brazil, is kidnapped in the middle of what could possibly be his final enforcement. When he awakes he finds himself in another country in surrounded by strangers who are offering him a chance at somewhat different path in life. After some thinking and of course some time spent with a mysterious beautiful woman, he decides that maybe this new path might not be so bad.
Sayeda was only suppose to provide meals for the brooding but sexy man. After their first encounter she found that she liked being around him more than not. Once they get to know each, against those in charge wishes, Sayeda and Adrian find comfort in each others arms. Unfortunately the powers that be will do everything they can to make sure that stay apart.
Delgano, which is book 9 in the Angels and Assassins shares Adrian's story, and although it's not necessary, I recommend that you read the previous book so that you can better understand what is going on. Be warned, this is a slow to build story but when it gets warmed up the story line is captivating to the very end. This story does end leaving you with more questions and hopefully they will be answered sooner than later with book 10.

A decent introduction and addition to Angels and Assassins universe

This book was good but the 'beginning' 60% was better than the 'ending' 40% in my opinion. I was confused quite a bit, this could be all due to me. However, I think what I am experiencing is the author is writing in a way that that's as convoluted and confusing as the secrets being kept. Of which, threw me off a bit.

One the other hand, the romance between Sayeda and Delgano was really well done, it had everything you could ask for and you can feel the chemistry between these two characters.

As this this book 1, there are still a lot of open ended questions, like who is the making the list? I strongly suspect it's Mora. When did Delgano join the other Angels and Assassins? What happened to Trevor and Lee? And the big one, of which will definitely be answered in book 2 is how did Sayeda end up with a Chamas enforcer?

Overall, this book is good but there is something missing. I wish I could explain what it was but I don't even know myself. It just didn't read as smoothly as other K. Alex Walker books

Eager more…

Oh this was an exciting book. I loved Adrian in the previous stories. As usual Ms. Walker blends the characters into each story seamlessly. I love each and every one of them. The lighthearted joy they get in being together. This story gave an insight into who Adrian was. Sayeda was a wonderful character full of strength and courage despite what she had gone through. I enjoyed the thrilling adventures.. I also like that there is new characters that can be brought into future stories. I like that Sayeda was the one who could break through Adrian emotionally and physically. They had a passion that was really sensual, scorching hot, and spicy 🌶️🥵🔥🌶️🔥🌶️🔥. Kept me breathless😮🗣️. I like that he couldn’t identify the fact that he was capable of truly loving someone until Ayesha. But then he saw Sayeda again. I highly recommend the entire series of Angels and Assassins to read. I look forward to reading it in the future. Right now I have other books of K. Alex Walker to read.📖🥰

Missed the Mark

This book didn’t resonate with me. I liked the first chapter, as it tied in nicely with book #1 and how the phone call (an eye for an eye) impacted Gage’s life. I liked the end of the book as it helped to explain Adrian’s fascination with Ayesha. Everything in the middle was exhausting.

This was a lot of backstory on Adrian and it was unnecessarily lengthy. Given the fact that Adrian over-shadowed Joel & Ayesha’s story in book #8, I just became annoyed. I wasn’t sure if Hannah was friend or foe and could’t understand why Sayeda was always a target. My lack of understanding may have been my fault, since by this point I was skip-reading just to move the story along.

I’m sure introducing and linking characters across books over years is challenging for an author, but I feel this book was overly wordy, complicated and lacked continuity.

I think the sneak peek at the end may help support book 9, so I’ll wait and see.

🙆🏾‍♂️

So many questions!

That ending...

Who are all the players? I feel like I missed something. That wasn't a cliffhanger but I'm absolutely ready for the next release.

Initially I thought focusing on Adrianna sexual urges was an of choice but I think it shows that childhood trauma has a way to impact intimate relationships. Sayeda had her own needs and desire but they went at each others pace and checked in on each other. I get it trying to humanize an assassin giving him a complicated past, a dangerous job, but still have a desire to want to be loved and be apart of a community. The ragged group made parts really funny but their aliases confusing at times.

Update based on other reviews you should read the Angels and Assassin series to help orient to the other ops in the book.

This book has been a long time coming for me. I could not wait to see how the author was going to deal with Delgano's obsession with Ayesha and Joel's inclination to put Delgano out of his misery. Especially, in light of Delgano's new standing with the team and his place in Ayesha's heart. But, wow! The story gives Delgano's background and his past with Sayeda and sheds more light on the connection with Ayesha and some crazy underhanded family mess going on. I absolutely loved how the story came full circle to the present when Delgano's past crosses his path and it literally all hits the fan as some hard truths now need to be faced and some serious business needs to be handled. This was the perfect set up for what's to come and I'm here for all of it.

hard to finish

This book for me was a miss. ⭐️/5 🌶️, the story line didn’t make sense and you don’t find out why Saydea covered her face. Is it because she has a weird secret twin? And what happen to Ayesha. And why are they a secret. And why is Novi trying to kill Saydea. It’s to many question and no answers. Didn’t like how it was love a first sight but she didn’t want to show her face but was willing to give herself to him? Then all of a sudden Atlas know Adrian and the team? I honestly didn’t like the plot I feel like it was rushed and random events was happening. And who died in the car!? I’m left with so many questions and tbh I’m fine with not continuing this series if this is the way it starts off. Because geez I’m lost.

Stream worthy…

Wow, this book is definitely ‘Stream TV’ worthy. I’m ready to renew/buy my subscription.

I have to say the chemistry between Adrian and Sayeda and their storyline is really well executed and flows so well you can smell the coffee. And definitely can feel the connection.

This book has real intrigue, action and excitement mixed with a touch of humor. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m very excited to see what’s coming next.

Confusing towards the end

I chose this book on a whim, not realizing it was a part of a series. It does have a got plot and storyline, but it ends on a cliffhanger with several unanswered questions leading up til the end. I'm sure it will come together but I still don't know why Adrian was "recruited" to Central or Mora's involvement. I read the first few chapters of the second book and I am just as confused because it jumps back into the storyline with new characters but doesn't really explain who the new characters are, which is difficult to follow. For this reason I'm not interested in reading the next book.

Can't wait for the sequel

As a patron of Ms Walker, I got a free version. Not doing it in the future. Because this woman deserves all of my money. This book is on fire. Unfortunately, it is a prequel but it ties into so many parts of Ms Walker's other works. You will love Sayeda and Adrìan. I'm hoping there will be some unveiling of Sayeda's father. Somehow in Ms Walker's universe, I have no recollection of the man. But this book will get you hooked. And if you have not read all of her other books, you will hopefully start now.

Following this series Delgano is a character that has been introduced but is not really known. This story is his back story, how he came to join the team he’s on and a relationship with a woman named Sayeda. Sayeda seems like a straight forward character but still waters run deep. I would recommend this for the back story, for getting to know more about the characters who come together and interact in these tales. Ready for part 2!

Let me first say that i absolutely love this author however, this book was just okay to me. I really could not connect with the storyline as it seemed to extend a bit too much and to long. However, towards the end things seemed to become intriguing and held my interest. I'm not quite sure I understand Adriano and Ayesha relationship or especially with Ayesha's husband in the picture. I will continue to support Ms. Walker.

I am pleased as punch to have read Adrian's backstory. I will admit I didn't like him for Ayesha in the other book. However, the author has skillfully brought all of the pieces together. Which gives you insight into what and who he became. I am looking forward to seeing him reunite with the one who originally caught his heart. And I would love to know she survived her "death" that her treacherous mom set up. This entire series has kept me spellbound. Excellent read!

Amazing

I read this book in one day it was so amazing to learn more about Adrien. The story of how he became a member of Omega now makes so much sense. Now I understand why he loved and protected Ayesha so much she was redemption for what he thought he let happen to Sayeda his true love. I still can’t believe how terrible of a person Mora was to her own daughter and niece. I can’t wait for the next book in this series the snippet has me anxious to know what happens next.

This can't be read as a stand-alone, it took me a moment to connect with the continuation of this series 🤔. This is Adrian's storyline, his beginning, training, and why he fell hard for Ayesha 😲. I need the next book asap, there's some serious connections going on, wew lawd 😳. It's a good read, slow, but you gotta stay with it 😉.

At first I was becoming confused with the back and forth but I am looking forward to the novella that will follow this story of Sayeda Price and Adrian Delgano! I am also hoping that the "sisters" Sayeda and Ayesha will meet each other soon and the mystery of their biological connection with be explained. I am wondering if Sayeda's mother is also Ayesha's mom. That woman is crazy. So many questions about the relationship! Looking forward to the next book!

I cannot wait til August! I've been sucked in and although we're familiar Adrian...whew. I've had to scan the recesses of mind for the bits I can remember about him all the way back to Dez and Larke's story, which is if I'm not mistaken when he first appears and gasp when all those little tidbits since make "sense".
