It’s a bad idea to fake marry your grumpy minotaur boss on reality TV, right?
But when ratings are down and he catches me snooping on his computer, I open my big mouth and... well... I might have come up with an idea to rescue the network, but I didn't take into account what it would feel like to be his. Even if it's not real.
Now we’re stuck together on a romantic island on my dream honeymoon, with only one bed!
He’s the monster husband of my dreams. He’s controlling, yet tender. His knowing smile and monstrous good looks make my mouth dry and my panties… not! I used to wish he’d notice me. The problem is all he seems to notice about me are the ways I annoy him. While all I notice are the ways he’d be perfect for me.
Can we save the network and his job—and mine? More importantly, can I keep from falling desperately, madly, painfully in love with him? Because that would be the worst mistake of all!

I had lots of high hopes for this one but sadly it didn't hit the mark for me. Ronan is not the type of MMC that I enjoy reading at all. I appreciated him helping Justine feel more self confident about her body and her kinks. I felt bad for her for feeling like her high s*xual drive and wants in the bedroom were bad or not normal. And he did help her become more confident in that aspect.
I'm all for a grumpy monster male but his behavior throughout the whole book was just gross. Gaslighting the FMC into thinking things were her fault that weren't at all, using her for s** even though he knew she wanted more from the relationship, not being upfront with her about her job being on the line because of their relationship, acting like a whiny child when she actually did stand up for herself and cut contact with him, and trying to buy her forgiveness with trips and expensive gifts.
The entire time I wanted to shake Justine and yell at her to grow a backbone and not let him walk all over her and bully her into things she didn't want! She let him get away with some really horrible behavior towards her and forgave him way too easily. The groveling I was promised was not what I would call groveling, or at least it wasn't enough for me. She forgave him way too easily and quickly.
The MMC's behavior aside, the spice was actually very nice. It was a little unbelievable in parts (ex: when he made her 💦 like 6 times in a row) but it was nice seeing him make sure she had pleasure before his own needs. And I love when the big monster bois lose control during the spice!
Overall it wasn't a bad book just not the type of MCs I enjoy reading.
I want to preface this review with the fact that I am not a fan of the fake dating trope. In my reading experience, it’s usually cheesy or too outlandish of a scenario that usually doesn’t grab me, but I am a fan of forced proximity and Minotaurs so when the ARC for this came up, I signed up immediately hoping for the best.
Admittedly, the premise for the fake dating wasn’t crazy and made sense. The MC’s have a strong grumpy/sunshine relationship so that definitely helped raise the stakes and bring depth to their story and romance. This is definitely a slow-burn but there wasn’t too much tension leading up to it because he’s so grumpy and in obvious denial of his feelings.
Which brings me to my point of why I only gave it 3 stars: she forgave him much too quickly despite the total hypocritical ass he was being towards her for 90% of the book. The change of heart his character had was overnight and, frankly, his “grand gesture” while very public, was a total cop out response when compared to his hurtful actions and words. Yes he had a scare which helped adjust his perspective but it was just too convenient for my tastes.
Spice is good- but there’s more degradation than there is praise, although he is very body positive and does his best to raise her self-esteem.
This was a 5 star read for me until the 80% mark when things started to take a shitty turn and he tried to do the whole “this is all I can give you” bullshit. She did stand up for herself eventually but literally broke the next day so that was wack and it pissed me off.
*I received this book as an ARC and I am leaving this review voluntarily*
I was really into the first half of the book! He was grumpy, stubborn, a bit asshole-ish but I was holding out on him coming around!! It just took way too long for him to come around, and it felt like he just kept getting worse. I get that he is supposed to be grumpy, and I know I was warned that he would be an asshole but I feel like it was a little too far for my tastes. Up until the last 20% of the book, it just felt like he only wanted her for sex and everything else he told her/did for her was just so she would keep sleeping with him. I just feel like he was a bit manipulative. I get that he had trauma and stuff like that makes people act not so great but I don’t think it should excuse his actions. I usually really like grumpy MMCs but I like the type of grumpy where they’re not mean or assholeish, just hard to crack.
I was proud of Justine for saying no when she did but if it were me, I would not have let it go on for as long as it did.
I did think the spice was good and I liked that he made sure she was enjoying herself and put her first. That is his only redeeming quality to me lmao. Honestly I thought I would like this a lot better than Ami Wright’s kraken short story (the only other one of hers I read) but I really didn’t. There’s just not that sparkle in it for me like I feel about other books I really love. Maybe she’s just not for me

The amount of times I screamed at this girl to STAND THE FUCK UP! I enjoyed this up until about 84% in. The MMC was a piece of shit and the MFC was a total pushover.
Grumpy/sunshine trope only works if the grumpy isn’t emotional abusive to the sunshine. At one point I thought the best friend was about to do her job and talk some sense into the MFC and nothing which was disappointing.
This book was a huge disappointment. This isn’t a book boyfriend, it’s an actual man and I don’t want that negative bullshit in my books.
I absolutely loved the first half of the book. The adorable interactions had me giggling and kicking my feet. I loved the reality TV setting. I was on the edge of my seat to see where this couple went next. I couldn’t wait to see how they grew closer. This was shaping up to easily be a 5-star read.
But just over halfway through, it’s like a switch flipped. Once the cameras were mostly gone, the facade fell away. The MMC completely changed into this horrible, manipulative beast. He suddenly developed a temper problem, screaming at people and threatening to break things. He was closed-off before, but he became downright cruel.
He purposefully leads the FMC on, acting as if he’s the perfect husband and would do anything for her happiness, to get what he wants from her. He showers her with gifts and compliments, but once they’re finished in bed, he immediately shuts her out again. It’s heartbreaking to watch her get her hopes up over and over, only for him to slam the door closed in her face every single time until the very end. He forces into the box that HE wants their relationship to be without any concern for her own wants and needs. I did not enjoy these developments at ALL, and nearly DNF’d this book because of these scenes.
He’s also completely self-aware of his abusive behavior. He frequently expresses guilt and shame, but then continues to manipulate and gaslight her anyway. It’s truly sickening. I read romance books to ESCAPE self-centered, narcissistic men like this MMC. I’m devastated that he changed so drastically in the second half. I was so looking forward to the ending, but I’m left frustrated and disappointed.
When he eventually does come around, it’s for all of the wrong reasons. His change of heart is near instantaneous and he doesn’t do anywhere near enough groveling for my tastes. His explanation of his behavior and apology isn’t even done to her face. Pathetic. He doesn’t deserve the FMC or the happy ending.
The spicy scenes are also insanely unrealistic. Eight times in quick succession? Don’t make me laugh. Or vomit.
This book is also marketed as an office romance, but…where’s the office? They leave the workplace only a few chapters in and it quickly becomes a fake marriage/forced proximity on a tropical island story. And they never return to the same office. A small complaint in comparison, but I adore office romances and this was very clearly NOT an office romance.
Justine's an assistant to the CEO and when they needed to boost the ratings, the minotaur boss agreed to enter a reality TV show which he will need to get married. Of course, Justine's the bride after the girl was a no-show so, they did enter the reality show as a married couple.
I didn't like our main male character, he's basically the grumpy and rude boss. He wanted to do whatever he wanted and if it's not followed, he threatened their jobs. He's basically throwing money at Justine to 'spoil' her or fix things, but there's no proper communication between them unless it's too late. He's aware that he can do whatever because people catered to him because he's the boss.
Justine's employed under him as she's the assistant and I didn't like the power dynamic over that, and there's no communication between that. Ronan constantly reminded Justine about establishing boundaries, etc but he's the one blurring the lines.
Overall, I understand why people love it but I just didn't vibe with it, and I found issues that I cannot get past.

The good: He dirty. There is a lot of smut and it’s goooood. When stuff goes wrong, it’s his fault (I hate having to watch the FMC be in the wrong or apologize 🤷🏼♀️) but a lot goes wrong. A lot.
The bad: I really dislike how rude and cold Ronan is; especially at first. His POV helps but I hate that he expects her to sleep on the couch and is mean to her about his nightmares. He also forces her into doing the show even though she says no. Then he is so cold to her during the filming in between being actively antagonistic. And she excuses all his bad behavior. I hate that. And that’s only the beginning! He forces her into a situationship even after she tries to break it off and gives her false hope by misleading her with what he says. He’s AWFUL. Even his grovel at the end was lukewarm for me.
I also got annoyed he would refuse a mate because he may have a heart condition? Huh? Okay so get the medical results before making that choice???
And it felt quickly written and not edited for plot holes and story flow. There was talk about her being his fated mate early on. And that that was why he couldn’t get involved. But then they get more involved and no talk of dates mates when they become physical or he can’t stop thinking about her? then he talks about imprinting? Huh? Finally at the end he mentions she is his fated mate with no insight as to how he knows (except that being mean to her was causing him chest pain I guess?).
Also. She was so weak and pathetic for him. I mean, she’s 24 so I get it, but it hurt to read after a point. Also she says no to renewing vows the second time to spare her heartbreak but then goes with him to paris? He made no further promises soooo what about the heartbreak girlie? Have some self respect, friend.
And when he finally finds out he isn’t sick NOW he wants her? And he does it by going on the show that illuminated her embarrassment and heartbreak? Publically? Instead of calling her and telling her he is okay and not in the hospital? Fuck right off.
Ultimately I hated the MMC, he didn’t make up for his terrible behavior by the end, and the book went on for too long.
Monster (Minotaur). Grumpy/sunshine. Boss/assistant. Dating show. Fated mates. Huge cock. Monster peen. Squirting. “Hot Minotaur daddy” and “traffic lights” nicknames. Sucking toes. Proposal. Lame grovel. No OMD/OWD. No cheating. Breakup. Talking about marriage and babies at the end.

I loved the premise of this book; super up my alley!
I was a bit disappointed with the way Ronan treated Justine. I wanted him to cherish and adore her, and it was feeling more like he was just using her for s*x at times while playing with her feelings until he realized he wanted to be with her. I kept hoping that I'd get the redemption I wanted for him, that he would have a big moment where he realized he was being the worst kind of grumpy, and I'd get my groveling. There is some groveling but I didn't feel like it was enough to excuse any of his behavior. I think, in this case, he was just too much of a Grumpy Bosshole and didn't show enough vulnerability/emotion.
Justine is so sweet, she is so sunshine, and I appreciate that. I can see where she was just so lost in her feelings for Ronan and kept hoping that If she stuck with him, he would open up and return her feelings, but I was upset that she let him treat her the way he did at times.
Now, there are lots of bits I really did enjoy. The book is hot as heck, and I LOVED that Justine was learning to love her sexual wants and that there wasn't anything wrong with her drive or how often she wanted to do it. Her ex (not in the book, just mentioned a few times) seems like the absolute worst! There is A LOT of spice, and it was all really good.
I'm looking forward to the second book in the series and I really enjoyed the little peek we get at the end of the book! I think in this book, the MMC just wasn't my kinda guy, but I'm excited for the next.
I am thankful to have gotten an ARC copy of this book in return for my honest review.
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to receive an ARC for this book.
Justine is the junior assistant at the media company that airs her favorite reality show. Ronan is the ceo of said media company trying to keep rating up. Due to unforseen circumstances they end up on Married for A Day together. Will they say yes at the vow renewal ceremony?
This was the perfect little spicy monster rom-com. Justine is quirky and driven. Ronan is a bosshole with a caring side just for Justine. He shows her how to love herself, and she teaches him how to love another. I do wish they took the fated mates part of the story a little more serious.

I usually love fake dating but this one unfortunately wasn’t for me. I just don’t think the MMC treated the FMC very nice and both characters lacked personality.
I read this almost in one sitting and absolutely adored it.
Justine is the junior assistant to her Minotaur billionaire boss. He owns a media company and rating are tanking and he’s at risk of the board selling their shares. To help boost ratings, he agrees to go on a reality dating show.. and Justine becomes his bride!
Lots of forced proximity, boss/employee dynamic, grumpy/sunshine.
ARC Review Justine and Ronan are so cute! I loved Justine's inner monologue. She's a redheaded, awkward, clumsy, romance reader. I am also all of those things so I really related to her. Ronan was the perfect grump, up until he realizes how much he also adores Justine. He's just afraid of his feelings for a while and pushes her away. This had me swinging my legs with cuteness, heart ache for their individual denial of feelings, and joy when it happens! A great cozy read with tension and spice!
Loved this book! Fake dating to a whole other level!! Made me laugh so much throughout ... who doesn't love a grumpy man!! More so if he is a monster! So good
This truly could have been great but Ronan was the actual worst. He wasn’t grumpy he was just an asshole. He did not grovel enough for how much of a prick he was. Super unfortunate really.

❥ 𝑱𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆 She was sweet but sometimes kinda cringe with her clumsiness. Still I liked her and her character.
❥ 𝑹𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒏 He was a big asshole at first but I understood his insecurities and the way he deals with problems. He develops in character and fights for Justine.
✥ 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌 This was a good monster boss romance. I liked the paranormal aspects combined with a ceo romance. It was entertaining and fun to read. The writing style is fluent and easy to understand. Justine and Ronan are a great match. They‘re cute together and had good tension. The reality Tv-show thing was well done and not one of these common tropes you read about everytime. The plot is good with some drama and a lot of couple time. Overall I enjoyed reading and had a fun time with this book.

~ STORY 📝 ~
I really wanted to love that book. I really did. I loved the tropes, I loved the monster, but I gosh I don't love the MCs.
FMC deserved better + look like she needed to heal (and grow up a little) by herself before having any type of relationship. AND the fact that he is her boss and is older makes me feel like she's being groomed.
MMC is the kind of man you could meet on Tinder (minotaur and billionaire points aside) and the whole point of romance books for me is to NOT deal with real men kind of BS 😂 He's not the worst, I understand where he's coming from but understanding doesn't mean I forgive him and FMC shouldn't have either in my opinion. 🤷🏽♀️
~ SPICE 🌶️ ~
Spice is neither slow nor fast & it's pretty well written too with a soft dom minotaur helping his little human to have more confidence in herself and what she wants. 🫶🏽
👉 Size difference 👉 Lots of fluids 👉 Dirty talk 👉 Spanking 👉 Big O's overload

This is an arc review. Thanks to the author for the advanced ebook copy 🙏💖
FMC is immature and unprofessional. At 24? the immaturity isn’t totally surprising, but the unprofessionalism is beyond idiotic and made her unsympathetic and one-dimensional as a character. There are better ways to give your young FMCs innocent joie de vivre than just making them impulsive idiots who all share one brain cell but no common sense whatsoever. (Can you tell I hate this trope? Ugh!)
MMC isn’t just grumpy; the author goes WAY too far with it and he’s actually mean, hypocritical, bullying, has anger issues galore, and is just interested in using the FMC for sex without actually communicating that to her. Think of a red flag, he’s probably got it. IF PEOPLE ARE SO AFRAID OF IGNITING YOUR TEMPER THAT THEY HAVE TO CONSTANTLY TIPTOE AROUND YOU, THAT IS ACTUALLY ABUSIVE. Really, really not something I want to read about in my romances.
I’ve generally enjoyed the author’s Monstrous Deals series, but I’m not sure I want to chance the second book in this one based on the first.
I tried to get through this. I really did. And then I finally decided to give up and stop torturing myself because abuse disguised as romance is bullshit.
I liked seeing Justine’s confidence grow and slowly learn to speak up for herself.
By the end, Ronan was sweet to her, but I do think for most of the book he is the grumpy bosshole minotaur.
Some comments I have Justine knows that she can’t do fwb but he can’t offer her more than that. I think I’m conflicted because on one hand…I think he stated his expectations clearly and she can decide what to do with it. But on the other hand….I do wish he was selfless enough to let her go when he knew he couldn’t offer her more.
But at the end of the day, they’re both adults and I think it’s fair that he told her where he stood and gave her the option to decide how she wanted to proceed.
I do wish girls didn’t have the mindset of “I can change him” though. If he tells you xyz then you have to go forth with the understanding that xyz is all there is (and if things change in the future then a conversation can be had).
Thank you Ami and Behind the pages for the arc. My opinions are my own.
I will start by saying I definitely think this just wasnt the book for me. I love monster romances but the characters annoyed me to my very core. If I wasn't being annoyed then I was bored out of my mind. I think that the story would have been good if the main characters just had different personalities. Which is why I think the book just was not for me.

👀Tropes: MMGMB is a Monster bully romance with Dual POV. It has office romance, fake marriage, unequal social status, stuck together (one bed/room), a touch of fated mates, age gap, a little slow burn, major grumpy/sunshine, and a little size difference tropes.
☠️CW: Explicit sex, there is mention of panic attacks and death of parent (past mention off page)

✨Initial Reaction: The first post I saw about another Minotaur Book had me jumping up and down and I'm so happy and honored I was chosen as an ARC reader. Per other's initial reviews while chatting with other ARC readers, I was real worried about how much of a bully the male main character, Ronan, was going to be to the female main character, Justine. This is my first Ami Wright book, so I wasn't aware of her writing, so it had me on my toes.
✨Final Reaction: I loved reading this book! Very very good and had me staying up very late to find out what was going to happen after each chapter. Ronan is SUCH a jerk. I cannot believe how many times he played our poor poor girl Justine. Just over and over, I wanted to slap his stupid big furry face. I also wanted to slap her too, don't get me wrong. I needed her to stand up for herself and stop getting run over emotionally. FINALLY, at the end, we get some action from her, standing up for herself and simultaneously getting a HEA.
💖Quotes: "Mr. Kernos feels big and impenetrable. And, even though things have been going well lately, I'm terrified I'll stuff something up and annoy him. then I'll end up right back where I was a few days ago. About to lose my job." - So many people can relate to this in their working world
"It's a bed. A freakin' bed! No, it's more than that. It's only one bed. like in all my favorite romance novels. What the hell am I doing here and how is this my life" - Same girl, I would be thinking the same thing.
"What the fuck did they do with my junior assistant? This woman isn't her. This woman is fucking girl-of-my-dreams material" - Fuck off Ronan, it's not all about looks.
"Don't look at me like you want to climb back in my lap and bed for more" - 🔥
"Then her hands find my horns and babygirl learns what they were made for" - HOLY SHIT I'M MELTING
Series: Grumpy Monster Bosses #1 Rating: 3 stars - I liked it
Ronan is struggling to keep the ratings of his reality TV shows up. When Justine suggested he participate in their most popular show Married for A Day, he doesn’t like it but agrees in the hopes it will save his company. When it is time to film though, Justine finds herself being the fake wife and quickly realizes she likes Ronan.
This was a fake marriage romance between a boss and his assistant. The chemistry between Ronan and Justine is there from the beginning and I enjoyed their relationship overall. The sex was very steamy, if a bit unbelievable at times, but still a good read. I do enjoy when the monsters lose control and can’t seem to keep themselves away, even when they deny their feelings.
Justine was a sweet woman who was led to believe she was abnormal because she liked sex and wanted more than just missionary. I really liked Justine and how she grew confident in her sex drive and expressing what she wanted in love and sex. But there were a few times I wished she had pushed back against Ronan’s actions more. It also seemed like she was easily swayed by expensive gifts and traveling, instead of pushing for an actual apology.
Unfortunately, I do have some issues with Ronan and his actions. First though, I did love how Ronan helped Justine become more confident in her sex drive and voice what she wants. I am all for a sex positive story with lots of kink approval. My issue with Ronan is that he isn’t upfront with Justine from the beginning. He doesn’t disclose information about her job when she is forced into being on Married for A Day, is frequently rude to her, and tries to buy her forgiveness with trips and expensive gifts instead of a decent apology. I think one of my biggest issues though is that at times it felt like he was just using Justine for sex because he refused to consider a true relationship with her. Also when he does finally apologize, I liked that he was public about it but I also was expecting more groveling in private.
While I did enjoy this book overall, I have issues with some of the things Ronan did. I will probably be reading the next one since Wright’s writing is enjoyable and I liked the idea of this world. I also want to see what the other grumpy bosses end up being like.

Then her hands find my horns and babygirl learns what they were made for.
And just like that, she’s back on her monster madness.
3.5/5 stars! 4/5 spice because yeah I think I need to read some sweet fluffy romance now.
This book was so silly and unserious. It was spicy, wildly fun, and I couldn’t put it down. Look, if you’re curious about the world of minotaurs and want something other than Morning Glory Milking Farm (which was ALSO super sweet along with the absurdity, check my review) this would be a nice place to start.
It’s a billionaire romance with his assistant putting on a fake marriage for a dating show. Really, other than the mention of hooves and horns HeS jUsT LIkE AnY oThEr BoOk MaN!!
But i’m serious when I say this was just fun and spicy as hell. I definitely want to read other books by this author when she makes things that are absurd but also wonderfully addictive.
Ronan is everything you want in the grumpy stubborn-as-a-bull man. He wants to have his cake and eat it too (pun intended) I thought their adventures were really fun. I enjoyed his dynamic with Justine & it made sense for him to be frustrating until the end. I loved the scene where the gossip show with Tabitha (a werewolf) calls him out for his shit.
If i’m anything it’s being a girls girl.
Justine was sweet, her character has trauma with her ex’s. I would have liked to see a little bit more back bone from her, more groveling when it came to that third act. But she was just too kind to have any sort of true fight with him. He taught her to use her voice and not listen to ex relationships and I enjoyed that.
Some frustrations in this book were moments of dialog. They would say something and leave it kind of open ended and then it would just jump to another scene which made flow a little choppy.
And of all nicknames to give a FMC, Traffic Lights was probably the most out of pocket i’ve ever read??? 💀
If you want unserious, spice and maybe a little adventure with a minotaur this was really cute! 🐮
I was provided an advance copy of this book for review consideration. Special thanks to the author, Ami Wright.
If you've been around for a while you'll know I love a good minotaur romance. I was not disappointed! This one has it all.
If you like paranormal romance, reality television, grumpy/sunshine, fake romance, dating the boss, and only one bed, THIS IS FOR YOU!
We have Justine, the forever blushing assistant to Ronan. She is incredibly clumsy, awkward, and LOVES reality TV. She's also a bit of a nymphø, which is great news for our MMC, quite frankly.
We also have Ronan, a hunky Minotaur and Justine's grumpy boss. He's incredibly against romantic entanglements due to ✨trauma✨ but can't seem to keep his lusty eyes off Justine.
Justine gets bullied into participating in the "Married for a Day" reality show with her boss and they have to pretend to be strangers. We get to watch the behind the scenes of the filming as they jump through hoops and totally not fall in love.
This MMC is so freaking grumpy and I love it. He's a bosshole and absolutely as stubborn as the bull that he is. The FMC is sweet and awkward and I want to hug her lol.
Honestly, I absolutely loved this book. There was plenty of spice and it was HOT! This minotaur loves to eat iykwim.
It was sweet and spicy, a little bit of angst with a smidge of grovelling and a whole lot of grumpy bosshole and you get a fantastic recipe for a paranormal romance.
I can't wait to read it again.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book, and this is my voluntary, honest review.
If she was mine, I could never deny her. Not for long, anyway. I'm already backing off the bed as I whisper my answer. "As you wish."
Justine is Ronan's junior assistant, and they work at a television studio. Her favorite show is Married for a Day, but Ronan's senior assistant wants to cut it. She convinces him and the board to try a new format, and ends up being Ronan's match for the show. Ooops. Cue all of us smirking.
Ronan is definitely a Grumphole/Bosshole, but when he realizes he's fucked up ooooh, it's sweet. There were times when I was like I know a Ronan in real life, but then something spicy would happen and I couldn't see them as that grump anymore. Justine is an idealist with a romantic streak that's two miles wide. And this was cute. I dug it. I really did like how he worked to help Justine feel more comfortable in her sexuality, but I would have liked him a little less grumpy.
I'm still going to read every one of the books in this series.

Those tropes am I right? wink, wink!! I love monster romance especially when the fmc comes into her in more than one way, haha! Anyway...Justine Delany works hard as a junior assistant for Mr. Kernos aka Stern Minotaur Daddy Ronan.
The ratings are plummeting and Ronan is scrambling to come up with ways to boost the ratings as well as save the sinking ship which is Bullseye Media.
He enlists Justine for help, takes her advice to join Married for a Day show and they get married.
How did they end up there, and are the feelings real or just to save the company?
You need to read this if you love groveling, all the spice, and feel dang proud of Justine for standing her ground!!
