The only thing better than church lady made food is a good joint and a better orgasm.
And when all three are delivered by a sexy priest?
Talk about a holy trifecta.

I know demons are supposed to be terrifying and evil. Some might even say cruel and heartless.
But the thing is, I don't like it.

The constant scowling and the raining of fire on people, it really isn't good for my mental health. Give me fluffy bunnies and a good cuddle after a long day and I'm a happy guy.

The problem is, I am a demon and I'm really freaking bad at it.

When my dad sent me to earth for a week to learn from humans how easy it is to be horrible, it sounded like a crap trip to me.

But I met a man there and he's not just any man. He's a priest, and he's as bad at his job as I am.

We're gonna help each other out. He'll teach me how to be bad and I'll... ah, dammit.

The only thing he's going to teach me is that I can fall in love with a human.

What could be scarier than that?

My Saintly Demon is an MM romance that features a marshmallow demon and a jaded priest who make an unlikely pair in this thought provoking and steamy novella about a demon who just can't be bad and seeks comfort, and a priest who needs balance between his want for the forbidden and a desire to find acceptance for who he really is.

My Saintly Demon is book one in the Horns, Hexes and Heathens series by R.M. Neill. This is a sweet, steamy, short read.

Charles is a priest who has lost hope. After being embarrassed and hurt by someone he trusted and thought he loved, he is being forced to leave his church. And he’s using some unhealthy ways to escape his broken heart. Charles really is a good guy and has a deep need to please. As you get to know his history and why he became a priest in the first place, it was pretty heartbreaking.

Dave is a demon who is also pretty bad at his job. Because he’s not bad at all. He’s kind and likes looking at pictures of bunnies and other fluffy things. So Dave is being sent to earth for seven days to learn how to be bad. Of course, he lands in the church where Charles is.

These two have an unexplainable connection and they just go with it. Dave knows that Charles needs help and he can’t leave him alone to deal with whatever is going on. Their journey begins which has many surprises in store for the two of them.

So, as I said above, the only words I can think of to describe this is sweet and steamy. Because both of these guys have big hearts and yes, there is plenty of steam included. I’m sticking with four stars because it is cute. It’s a pretty quick read. It just didn’t make me feel anything for the two of them as a couple. I didn’t connect with them or swoon.

What a wonderful read this book was! I had so much fun reading this story and I absolutely fell in love with both the MCs.
Charles is a priest who has been indulging in all sorts of things lately... sex, drugs, alcohol... You name it. He's gay and is tired of suppressing that part of him. He is still a believer but he is very disappointed in the Church. Dave is a demon who hates torturing people and just, in general, being a demon. His father sends him to the surface to try and become better at his demon role. From the first moment these two met sparks flew everywhere. The pull between them and the chemistry was undeniable, they were just like two moths going straight to their respective lights.
Dave was such a sweetheart and not capable of hurting a fly. He was a teddy bear and a possessive demon all at the same time and I loved those two sides of him. Charles was lost, not knowing what to do with his life and Dave was like a breeze or fresh air that came into his life at the right time. They were the two parts of a whole that made their lives perfect. I laughed so much with Dave and his view of humans, which ironically made him look very human too.
I loved the storyline, the background plot regarding a certain bishop and both Dave and Charles. The story is very well written and it doesn't leave anything without explaining, even though it's a short book. There are new beginnings, a steamy and truthful romance, a world full of different creatures and some secondary characters whose stories I want to read! There is also a twist in the story that I did like very much and some naked-under-the-moon shenanigans that were hot as hell (very appropiate if you think where Dave came from).
Read this book, you'll love it and will have a great time!

Holy cheeseburgers! What a fun book! I loved meeting Dave the demon and Charles the disgraced priest.

RM Neill covers the span of human emotions in this book—Dave is sweet and fluffy, but also really possessive. Charles starts off in a very dark place, but he’s incredibly funny, and his love for life comes through in every scene. The banter is great, the emotions are deep, and there is a TON of steam. This novella truly has something for everyone.

Because the book is so much about being true to yourself and finding your place, the midpoint plot development of is a brilliant touch. (Also, while this story works on its own and comes to a satisfying conclusion, I’m really excited to learn more about Xavier. He was a great addition to the cast, and his spin-off story is sure to be amazing.)

I've been wanting to read this one as soon as it was released, and I just now got around to it. A fluffy demon and ex-priest fall in love? Yes, please. I'm really glad I finally got around to it, but it wasn't *quite* as good as I hoped. The dirty talk was some of the best, and I loved both Charles and Dave; however, with the book only being about 200 pages, things moved quickly. There was more instalove in this than I really liked (instant lust/attraction? Give me. Instalove? Meh not so much). I think that if this book were longer and we had a bit more time to see their relationship progress more naturally I would have found their relationship a bit more believable. For example, Nonetheless, it was still a good book overall, and it is a good intro to the paranormal subgenre.

Loved the idea and the start but for me it sort of lost its way. Insta love and a massive missed opportunity in terms of exploring the theme made this a bit mediocre.

My Saintly Demon is RM Neill’s contribution to the Possessive Love multi-author collaboration. It’s a M/M romance featuring a marshmallow demon and jaded pair. This novella (198 pages) is told from a first person, dual point-of-view. It does contain religious themes and substance abuse, so please review the content warnings and take care of yourself while reading.

Dave knows that demons are supposed to be these horrifying, evil creatures. They’re supposed to crave and promote all the forbidden desires humans have. Except Dave’s not exactly good at being a demon. He’d prefer fluffy pet bunnies and a good snuggle any day of the week. When Dave’s father issues him an ultimatum and he’s sent to Earth as punishment, he meets Charles. Charles is a jaded priest that’s lost his faith in the institution he’s taken vows to serve. In some ways, he’s as bad at his job as Dave is. Could this unlikely human/demon duo find the balance their seeking with one another?

Again, I fail at the whole demon thing. I'm likely the only demon ever that has graciously talked someone out of sex and snuggled with them instead.
Sometimes a hug is better, you know?

Dave and Charles were adorable! This novella was short and sweet, but it had lots of steam and romance, with a guaranteed happily ever after. When we meet Charles, he’s so angry and hurt after his ex betrayed him. Now, he’s being forced to leave and he’s not sure what he’s going to do. His first meeting with Dave (which is a demon name I’m here for) is unexpected and spicy, and I love the instantaneous connection they have.

There are some fun side characters we get a chance to meet - particularly Xavier in their safe house. The author mentioned we’ll eventually get his story, and I’m excited for it. I love how the author blended the paranormal romance elements with your typical contemporary romantic elements. Dave and Charles both go through some pretty personal revelations in this book, and I love how it brought them closer together. There was also an element of found family which is always bonus in a book.

If you’re looking for a short, sweet paranormal M/M romance read, My Saintly Demon is perfect!

I will do whatever this man asks me to. "You will always be the beautiful mess who entered my life when I needed someone to see me. It doesn't matter where you came from or what you are."

I received an ARC of this book from Indie Author Creative and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Sinful priest & sweet demon

A quick faced paced romance featuring a sinful priest & a sweet demon.

It was cute watching these opposites form a bond so quickly. Dave is sent to the human world & given seven days to prove his demonic side. He arrives at the church Charles is being forced from due to his sexuality.

Both souls are trying to find their place in life & end up finding each other instead. They are exactly what the other needs, in the exact moment they needed someone.

This is a multi-author shared world series. One of the side characters is getting his own story outside of this series (X), so I hope we get to see more of our demonic/priest lovers again.

Well, opposites attract in the opposite way of what you would think. When the priest is the wild and dirty one and the demon is the sweet and cuddly one! What a fun read that keeps you enthralled the entire read. A great add to this combined universe and not what I was expecting from a rm Neill book! Job well done. I hope you try future books with this type of feel in them!

This was a really fun read.
The story is about Charles and Dave.
Charles is a priest that is pretty fed up with holding himself back, so he gets a bit out of control with all of life's "forbidden" fruit. Dave is a demon that isn't happy about being a demon and everything that comes with it. He's sent to the surface by his father to learn to embrace it more.
These two hit it off right away. I absolutely adored Dave. He's my favorite kind of "baddy," possessive but a bit of a cinnamon roll as well. Charles truly needed him and it's obvious these two are matches because they balance each other and, without sounding cliche, truly rounded each other out.
It's a short, quick read. It's very well written and, for such a short length, still hits you in all the feels. The romance is wonderful, the steam is there, and it has plenty of side characters to love.

I will absolutely be picking up more from this author!

A priest and a demon- I never knew I needed this

I love everything RM Neill writes and for as different as this was from her other books I loved it. It still has incredible writing. Fun and sweet moments. The way Dave and Charles save each other was spicy and sweet. I can’t wait for X’s story.

My Saintly Demon by R.M. Neill

ARC REVIEW

My Saintly Demon by R.M. Neill is part of a multi-author series, Possessive Love, but can be read as a standalone.

« demon x human »
« marshmallow demon »
« a jaded priest »
« protective & possessive MC »
« low angst »
« he’s mine & nobody fucks with what’s mine »
« horn play during sexy times »
« HEA »

Dave isn’t good at being a demon – he is far too nice. When Dave fails to follow through on an order of killing a man, his father sends him to Earth for a week as punishment. His father tells him he must learn to be less apologetic and more demon-like if he wants to return home. Charles life is a bit of a mess. He is still devoted to his religion but not the church. He is tired of hiding who he is for everyone else in hopes for their love and acceptance. He tries to cope with the hurt with sex, alcohol, and drugs. Dave asks Charles to teach him to be bad and more demon-like. Along the way they end up of having quite the adventure - Dave becomes very protective and possessive of Charles and finds out more about himself than he bargained for.

“I’m your worst nightmare. And you picked the wrong person to fuck with today. Nobody threatens what’s mine.”

This story is equal parts tender, funny, and hot! I loved X flirting attempts with Charles to get under Dave’s skin and have his possessiveness of Charles come out. Dave and Charles have intense chemistry, but they are also able to be vulnerable with each other. They are both hurting in their own ways – Dave has struggled his whole life to be what his father wanted him to be, and Charles has been trying to be something he wasn’t because he so desperately wanted his foster parents’ love and approval. Through love and acceptance of each other Dave and Charles fit perfectly together making them whole on their own and as a couple.

“Earth was to be a punishment, but it turned out to be the sweetest reward instead. He was not a missing piece, but an addition. Someone who enriched my entire life. I could be strong on my own, but together we could do so much more. Spending forever on earth never looked so good.”

As someone who is queer and has difficultly with how religion at times can be used as a weapon of hate this story really spoke to me. Charles speaks to this when he says, “There’s a reason they refer to members of a parish as a flock. Sheep follow commands without question. Led from place to place with no thought of their own.” That really resonated with me and the importance of critical questioning and critical thought and not blindly following what we are told or are expected to do.

I thoroughly enjoyed this paranormal romance that was low angst, sweet and spicy with a guaranteed HEA.

This is a lovely little demonic read with a twist. It's one for the “possessive but in a nice way” crowd. Mind the TWs, especially for addiction if that’s one of yours. The story begins with a major downward spiral for MC1 but soon shifts into another form of obsession with the all-wrong but so-right MC2. Want to know more?

Father Charles (yes, that’s right!) has had it with the hypocrisy, the hiding, the suppression of self. He’s spiraled low and about to leave his church and calling. In fact, he’s been betrayed and dismissed, and has to vacate. So…what does it matter if he shares one wild moment in the church kitchen with the shockingly s3xy man he seems to have conjured right out of his imagination?

Only, this demon—Dave! LOL Dave the demon, love it—isn’t what Charles expected. In fact, Dave’s here to learn to be more demonic, less kind, less sweet. Corrupting Charles should be a great first start, but, soon they’re swapping spit and other things while Dave’s helping Charles start anew…and feeling very possessive, very inappropriate Things he has no business giving in to while he’s trying to learn to be bad. He’s just so BAD at being bad!

Oh well! These two are adorable when they get going, and it’s a charming little ride to a sort of halfway house for paranormal folks who find themselves with nowhere to go. Dave’s father has been sitting on a huge secret that might just be the reason for Dave’s struggle with being evil, and other secondary characters are there for these two when Stuff gets real. It’s a fast fall into Feelings but a fun read once it gets going, and I was rooting for these two to find their new place in the world. Feathers and all. Together.

It’s pure entertainment (apart from aforementioned TWs!), and I enjoyed meeting these two and plan to look for stories about other characters. I wonder if Dave’s dad gets a book?!

HEA. Priest-demon, sweetly s3xy possessive love (well, one’s more so than the other, but, it worked for me), no cheating or emotional cheating. Recommended.

My thanks to Booksprout and Indie Author Creative for the ARC; this is my free and impartial opinion.

I’ll acknowledge up front that I’m not usually interested in a Christianity-based religious crisis of faith by a white dude, but I offered to read this ARC after getting to know the author in a group chat. To my surprise and pleasure, Neill immediately gives the reader an explicit and sympathetic reason to care about the immediate cause of Charles’s troubles. Then, she deftly layers in the more complex reasons for Charles to re-examine his entire life, which began long before he finds a demon in his church’s kitchen.

I was also quickly hooked on the trope reversal of cinnamon roll demon and porcupine (soon-to-be) ex-priest. Of course, issues of morality and good versus evil are mainly in the eye of the beholder, so Charles isn’t exactly as “bad” as he tries to be, though Dave is definitely as good as he seems. The characters find kindred souls in each other, not due to their similarities or differences but because of the personal journeys they are undergoing. I may have predicted a significant element of Dave’s character development early in the book, but that did nothing to diminish my enjoyment of the story. I was still excited to see everything unfold and learn exactly what part Charles would play in it all.

Though this book does dig into themes of the Catholic church’s views on homosexuality, Charles’ nontraditional characterization significantly lightens would could have been an otherwise heavy-handed narrative voice. That balance keeps this book at the level of sexy romp it promises to be while not shying away from the message it wants to deliver. Despite the themes, this story was low-angst and actually quite sweet—and definitely creates a high bar for any of the other books I read in this shared-concept series.

This is the second book I’ve read in this multi-author series and a fantastic addition to the group. A different take on the theme and all I have to say is wowza! This was funny, sweet and steamy and I enjoyed every page of this read. There are some topics that may be sensitive for some readers so definitely read the author’s note.

The characters were such a wonderful surprise and definitely not what I expected at all. It was a fun role reversal for a disillusioned priest who is traveling down this chaotic spiral of drugs and alcohol after being told to leave his position with the church and a sweet, fluffy, rabbit video watching demon. Charles has been betrayed by the people he trusted and cared for and meets Dave at a low moment. Dave has been told that he’s not demon-y enough and sent to earth for a week to figure out how to be bad. It seems like an unlikely pairing but it definitely works in this opposites attract story.

Dave is such a great character-he’s funny in his observations of people and his approach of being a demon. He doesn’t quite fit and he’s just good. He supportive of Charles and unbelievably sweet and I really enjoyed his individual story arc because it just seems to fit with the character he is when you first meet him. I loved the HEA for these two and thought it was well earned. Charles is in a better place emotionally than when we first met him and Dave seems to have found his place.

Great secondary characters in the book as well and certainly added to the storyline. I’m curious as to X’s story and Mike’s also got some history there and hoping to see them in future books! I read a complimentary copy of this book and this is my honest and fair review.

This story!! Dave and Charles were such a fun couple to read. A priest that has gone completely against his collar and a Demon that is softer than a marshmallow and cares more about humans than himself.

This story had me sucked in the minute I started reading it. I didn’t put it down until I hit “the end” late into the evening. We have a priest who is struggling with his priesthood and a demon struggling with being a, well…demon. When the two meet and have to help the other out it’s just a fun, fun story to read. A lot of laughs (as RM always does) and a lot of emotions. And when the characters fall in love, they fall hard.

Charles is a priest who has a lot to fix in his life. He’s struggled and been severely hurt. He still loves and is very dedicated to his religion. The church itself, not so much. I loved the way he stayed dedicated to it even though he fell for a demon.

And Dave, the demon that has so much love in his heart just doesn’t quite fit in down under. Way under. So his father sends him up for a few lessons. Dave learns a lot about himself while on Earth. Dave and Charles end up having quite the adventure and meet some very cool characters along the way. Ones I hope we see more of. But the chemistry of Dave and Charles… fire! Burn the planet fire.

This was the second paranormal romance for RM and she knocked it out of the park. We have an expression that our kindles catch fire on the steamy scenes. I’d say RM had my Kindle blazing hot and exploding over and over again with this story. Her writing skyrocketed with this one and I’m extremely excited to see where RM goes from here. She really set the bar high for herself now.

Dave is not the demon his father wants him to be. As a punishment, Dave's father sends him to Earth for a week to try and learn to become a better demon. Everything changes when Dave meets Charles and they become each other's saving grace.

Dave and Charles have an instant connection with each other but their relationship also progresses so naturally. I love how sweet and possessive Dave is with Charles. There is definitely a lot of electricity between Dave and Charles. I loved it when I finally had my "Ah ha!" moment and the title of the book finally clicked for me, lol. I can not wait for X's story and hopefully a few more from this world.

Dave and Charles had me laughing out loud, swooning, fanning myself, and even tearing up. Their story came right at the right time for me as I was starting to fall into a reading slump and they brought me out.

MY SAINTLY DEMON by R.M. Neill, part of the Possessive Love series, is Charles and Dave's mm, paranormal, religious, possessive mc, forbidden, priest/demon story told in the dual first-person point of view and ends with a happily ever after.

Be mindful that this book contains voyeurism, exhibitionism, alcohol & drug use, violence, and homophobia.

My Saintly Demon - Feathers and Horns

‘Charles turns his head to find me still standing in the doorway and he cocks his head in question. I tap the space over my heart and nod. He smiles back, holding my gaze a little longer than normal, and a filthy image flashes behind my eyes. I gulp a lungful of air and stare back at Charles. He winks and turns back to X.’

Ah My Gosh!!!! Whew, did R.M. Neill succeed when she choose to drive off on another literary path with her Priest and Demon romance? Why, yes she did! And we have been BLESSED with a STEAMY stroke of genius!

{{{5 Star FIRE}}}

Charles, as a despondent priest, feeling he is being held captive by the strict and hypocritical actions of those he must bow down to, has become a broken man. Having to hide his broken heart and romantic feelings leads him to excessive use of alcohol and drugs, and he finds himself no longer in charge of his flock.

Dave is a demon who must prove himself to his influential Underworld father, by creating chaos in the human world. When he finds himself coming out of the Charles’ church's closet, literally and figuratively, he finds a priest that he might be able to use to achieve his goal.

Following these two on their journey of enlightenment makes for a VERY STEAMY read! What you will also get is a sensitive understanding of fairness and the need to allow people (and demons) to live their own lives. This story is funny and tender, while keeping the MM heat to a maximum and I loved every second of it!

My Saintly Demon by R.M. Neill is a sweet and satisfying quick read, featuring a romance between a soft and cuddly demon, and a priest who is leaving the church.

First, the trigger warnings: There are substantial religious themes and criticisms of the Catholic Church, along with significant drug and alcohol use. That said, I enjoyed the overall message of finding balance and your place, and this doesn’t read like a heavy or angsty book. The larger themes are balanced by some terrific humor and the joys of a demon who is bad at being, well, bad. Said demon is Dave (the name!), who is sent to earth to figure out how to be a better demon. There he meets Charles, who is leaving the church after a disastrous affair. He’s a bit broken, and all Dave wants to do is help him — okay, maybe he wants to do some other stuff, too. But can this mismatched pair make it work when Dave is supposed to return to Hell in just a week?

This was a fun read. Dave is hilarious, and I loved how his soft side didn’t keep him from turning into a bad-ass protective and possessive demon when Charles was threatened. Charles is a bit harder to love, as he is a hot mess, but I appreciated his struggles and his ready acceptance of Dave. If you’re looking for an unusual twist on demon romance with some hot horn action, look no further.

The premise of this story really intrigued me. Usually priest stories are about them fighting to remain pious and their inner struggle. Nope, not here! Although Charles did actually like being a priest, he didn’t like having to hide being himself and many other issues that forced him to leave the faith. And normally you don’t see a demon that struggles so hard to be demonic (like ever?) but Dave is such a sweetheart you can’t help but love him. Although, he definitely has demonic tendencies and can get pretty scary if he needs to (scary lite?).

Dave and Charles find each other at low points in their lives and quickly become engrossed in each other (seriously, so hot). Not only is this story spicy, but it also has growth and closure for both characters. Dave figures out why he struggles with his demonic nature and Charles finds a way to help people that does not involve the church that turned its back on him.

I am a very petty person and very much would have liked some payback for the bishop, but that doesn’t jive with Dave’s demonic vibe so I understand.

I am looking forward to reading X’s story!

I have been waiting for this multi-author series for awhile now. If you have a love for demons and for happy endings, I recommend My Saintly Demon to start with. It’s a head turner to be sure.

Charles is a priest about to leave the church. He is upset and drowning his sorrows in all of the sins available to him. Dave is a demon who is not very good at demon’ing. Do you know what Dave is good at? He’s good at being naughty with Chuck.

This book is so very good! R. M. Neill brings us to a darker world in which the institutions and people that should be good and those that should be bad are flipped on their heads. We get to see Mike again from Baking with a Ghost and just like then he gives a helping hand to Dave and Chuck. Dave is the cutest demon and I really enjoyed his character. Charles/Chuck broke my heart with his sadness and pain. He is the kind of character that I fall in love with. He is broken and yet he doesn’t give up. He may give in to the need to fall apart, drown his sorrows, but then he gets up and with help from the admirable Dave he finds his way. Now I want to make my way to the rest of the books. 😊

Dave and Charles are quite a pair, a demon who worries over the well being of bunnies and a priest who must hide his true self under the protection of his robe. RM Neill has such a gift for pulling the reader into to the plot and connecting with the characters which makes reading her books such a pleasure. This was excellent addition the Possessive Love multi author series, I’ve enjoyed all the stories I’ve read. They are an unlikely couple for sure, but this demon and his priest have common ground, both are outcasts. Dave has been banished to Earth by his father and Charles is about to be removed from his parish post. Dave is a bad demon and Charles is a terrible priest. I loved their unexpected personalities, that was a fun and unexpected twist. Dave is the sweetest demon you can imagine and Charles loves embracing his very human vices. There’s also a lovely emotional underpinning that I loved. Dave is dedicated to figuring out his priest’s secrets and finding a way forward together. Dave is an absolute delight of a demon, this was such a beautifully written and charming read. Loved it!

Dave is really bad at being a demon as he is far too kind and prefers fluffy bunnies and cuddles. His Dad sends him to Earth for a week to learn from humans how to be cruel. Dave ends up in Priest Charles' house although he is bad at his job as he prefers to smoke weed, drink alcohol and have orgasms. Charles is about to be removed as a priest and has less than a day to remove his belongings and leave. Charles agrees to help teach Dave to be bad but all he really does is teach him that he can fall in love with a human.

I enjoyed this story with the priest who is struggling with his sexuality and goes off the rocks and Dave who wants to be a better demon but just can't be horrible to people. The two men do have some discussions but a lot of the book describes their sexual exploits. I did enjoy the house they ended up living in and they did end up having a great relationship. Easy to read and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

A funny, whimsical, and emotional story. Behind the fun, the story focuses on being who you are and learning to be happy in your own skin. Charles, a disgraced priest is in a dark place and prays for help. Enter Dave the Demon who is… adorable! 😂
The whole story flips what you expect on the head. I love how the portal to the demon world is in the church of all places 😂

I’m not religious in the slightest, we’ve never got along me and the church. So, I loved how she got down and dirty about it in the first few pages.

“There’s a reason they refer to members of a parish as a flock. Sheep follow commands without question. Led from place to place with no thought of their own.”

I love the concept of a home for misfits. It sounds like fun. I’m looking forward to reading about X and even Faustus.

My only small criticism is that the storyline moved at a mile a minute and somethings, I felt, could have been done a little deeper. Like the whole Matthew thing. I wanted to see him get some sort of comeuppance.

This is part of the multi-author Possessive Love series. This was such a fun almost role reversal of a book, with a demon who's bad at being bad, and a priest who's bad at being good.

When we meet Charles, he's a lost soul, when he's the one supposed to be saving souls, he's also kind of a lost soul himself. I did love the idea of that kind of role reversal, and I'm all for something a little different. I did feel for Charles, especially as his story unfolded, he never really had a chance, or anything for himself. I do love that the demon is called Dave, it's so un-demon like but it suits him. There is an instant connection between the two, it's hot right from the start. For the most part I enjoyed the story, and the relationship between Charles and Dave. The sub plot with Dave and his father and finding out what Dave really was, was really good too.

I just didn't warm to X, and I don't know why. Maybe if we get to know him better, that will come. The nature of these stories in series like these is that they are short and sweet, and this is definitely that with a nice HEA for Dave and Charles.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

This is a short but packed with goodies story. There is a nice amount of world building, an awesome premise with Luciferesque banter and vibes, it’s fast paced, sweet, steamy and a touch angsty.
Both characters are interesting and layered and very easy to connect to and you’re sort of rooting for them from the get go. I absolutely love Dave - he is as sunshiney as a demon can get without being OTT. Charles is embracing his humanity and his agency and I absolutely loved that for him. Their chemistry is inventive and intense 😄.
There is a ticking clock counting down an expiration on their time together and loads of unanswered questions they are trying to figure out as these two navigate their way to an HEA.
I throughly enjoyed this amazing opposites attract, paranormal, touch him and die story! Excited to read X’s story next!
