Understanding Your Brain is an informative book about the complexities of our brains. Some features include: dreams, optical illusions, ESP, memory, and the subconscious. What I loved most about this book was its format. Quizzes appear throughout the book, which keep the readers engaged and allows them to test what they've learned about their brains. The readers are able to make genuine text-to-self connections. I could use this with an older class for a science lesson on the human body and the brain. It's also a great resource for research projects.

Nice overview for young readers. Easy to understand with a lot of illustrations. Some information
Ion not quite up-to-date ( e.g., missing info on número-genesis), but still well done. My 5th grader is using this book in school, and, knowing my interest in "brain science," thought I might like to read it. I did (read it and like it).
