Perfect for fans of Phoebe MacLeod and Portia MacIntosh.

Remember the number one never fall for your best friend’s brother . . .

To boost her social media following, blogger Sophie needs a new plan.

So she teams up with her best friend’s annoying brother, Marcus. He may be gorgeous, but he has a special talent for getting under Sophie’s skin. And he makes no secret of the fact he sees Sophie’s career as frivolous.

Marcus needs to promote his new business, so they’re both getting what they want. What Sophie doesn’t want is the T-shirts that cling tightly to his muscular arms and make it impossible not to stare.

As Sophie and Marcus clash, their plan turns into a catastrophe. She doesn’t know how much more of him she can take.

Until Marcus sends Sophie a thoughtful peace offering as an apology. He’s even referring to her blogging as work, without sounding sarcastic.

Now Sophie is finding it harder and harder to deny that she’s beginning to see her best friend’s brother in a new light. And wonders if she has more than one reason to be interested in their partnership . . .

This friendship-packed and laughter-filled opposites-attract, enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy is perfect for fans of Phoebe MacLeod, Portia MacIntosh, Laura Carter, Sandy Barker or Rachel Dove.

Make It Up to You by Lucy Keeling is a 2019 Choc Lit publication.

A thoroughly modern romance!

Sophie takes her online make-up tutorials seriously. However, her viewer-ship numbers, hits and follows have hit a plateau. She needs to do something to freshen up her videos before her enterprise spirals downward.

When her friend, Pam, suggests she work with her brother, Marcus, to create a garden backdrop for her videos, Sophie is reluctant. But Marcus also needs a little exposure for his business, so it seems like a win-win situation. What could possibly go wrong?

Well, for starters, the two mix like oil and water. Despite that, they are deeply attracted to each other. Then Marcus inadvertently finds himself on camera making a big impression on Sophie’s audience, stealing a little bit of her thunder. This is NOT what Sophie had in mind to boost her numbers!!

As anyone who has tried their hand at making a little profit from YouTube videos or from blogging can attest to, it’s not all fun and games. Just like anything else, to make it profitable, one must put some work into it. Sophie has a hard time getting people to take her work seriously, though. Marcus is not aware of how much effort Sophie puts into her tutorials and how fragile her occupation can be.

After a bit of a rocky start, the two eventually wind up working well together… in more ways than one. However, Sophie isn’t sure if she wants Marcus to be a part of her personal life AND her professional life, as well.

This is a fun madcap romantic comedy with a timely premise. The characterizations are well drawn, if a bit hyper and shallow at times. However, that leaves plenty of room for character growth. The momentum is a little uneven, lagging in some places and a bit too frenetic in others. It is also mildly fluffy, without a lot of serious depth- which is not a criticism, just an observation- since we all need a break from heavy reading at times.

However, the author did a great job of capturing this time frame in a young adult’s life, the friendships they have, the parental expectations and pressures, as well the stress of carving out one’s own niche in a highly competitive and ever evolving climate. The chemistry between Sophie and Marcus is stormy, but hot and steamy. The story is hilarious at times and is definitely a mood enhancer!

Overall, this is a light, sexy romp fans of contemporary romance and Rom-Coms will love!

‘He seemed really lovely. When we spoke online he was really polite, really attentive… When we met up he was in a smart outfit and really well put together… I hadn’t noticed the woman he came in with and didn’t notice her for ages as she was sat behind me. Anyway, long story short, it was his mother. It was also his mother I’d been chatting with online and she coached him through the entire date by signalling behind me… and I know all of this because afterwards she came up to me and explained who she was and would I give feedback on his performance. On the plus side, he paid for both drinks, well presumably with his pocket money.’ Sophie was speechless for a minute. ‘Oh, Jesus, Pol how the hell do you find them?”

My Review:

I enjoyed this amusing book, the humor was crisp, the majority of characters were interesting and appealing, and the storylines held my interest and piqued my curiosity – I am eaten up with it to know Mya’s secret career. This wily author is such a tease and cleverly left lots of breadcrumb trails for subsequent books. Yet I found myself tapping my little foot in consternation, as I had no love for the main character of Sophie. Sophie’s tedious self-involvement and mono-focus with her social media profile and YouTube videos were annoying to me, she was driven, selfish, and a rather thoughtless user. I did, however, enjoy most of the other characters and I fell into a swoon for the sweet, patient, and sexy Marcus. I coveted Marcus’s adoration and attention to Sophie as I wanted to steal him for myself.

In addition to providing my entertainment for the day, Ms. Keeling added to my Brit Word List with hench – Brit informal for a man with well-developed muscles; and mither - to fuss over or pester someone. I would most definitely mither over a sexy hench.

Sophie Timney is a Beauty Vlogger. She loves Vlogging and being an influencer but her follower numbers have stuck and she is worried that her videos are becoming boring. Without her numbers increasing she can’t get companies to sponsor her and grow her business. She is also fed up with having to use artificial light for her Vlog as her garden is a total mess, so she has to keep the curtains closed.

She lives in a shared house with her mysterious but rich friend Mya. To make her videos more fun her friend Polly has an idea, why not let gardener Marcus have some air time on her Vlog as he is trying to build up his business, in exchange he can landscape the garden, with a little of Mya’s cash too.

But how on earth are a beauty vlogger and a gardener, albeit a sexy gardener, going to work together?

Make It Up To You is a fun, even hilarious at times book about a beauty vlogger and a gardener trying to work together on their videos.

The book is a quick, light-hearted read that I read in one sitting. The writing was fast-paced and the characters were mainly a delight to spend my time with, sometimes Sophie felt a little OTT and self-centred, at others, she was a sweetheart. They were all perfectly realistic and I just adored Mya, I wanted to know what this mysterious woman did for a job too.

The book is about friendship and romance and Sophie had no shortage of lovely friends. Marcus was your typical book boyfriend, good looking, sweet, rough around the edges. There are also a few kittens for cuteness overload too.

If you are after a truly modern-day book that will give you a ‘pick-me-up’ then this is the book to read. It is a fantastic read that hooked me in and had me not wanting to put it down. It’s a little cheesy in parts and there were no big twists or turns, but it was pure enjoyment the whole way through.

4☆ A Fresh, Fun and Witty Rom Com!

Make It Up To You is a Fun Romance, where Romance pops up where you least expect it!
This is the first part in a fresh new series!

Sophie is very passionate about beauty products, so much so she's set out to make a career out of becoming a Social media Beauty Influencer with the hope to have her own beauty brand etc...

But ratings and followings are becoming stale and she's fresh out of ideas.
When a disaster video gets uploaded by mistake, Sophie is devastated.

Her best friend Polly, comes up with an exciting idea that could potentially get Sophie back on track.
She suggests a project, not just any project but one involving her gardener Brother Marcus.

But just how can Marcus's gardening skills influence Sophie's ratings?
I guess you will just have to read it to find out 😏

Lets just say Marcus makes quiet an impression and not just on her followers, but on ice queen Sophie too!

I really enjoyed Make It Up To You but it took me a few chapters to work out who was who, and how they was connected.
It does eventually slot into place and once i connected the dots i enjoyed getting to know each of the characters.

Make It Up To You is a quirky, fun Rom Com that not only is witty and funny, it also gives the reader an insider's look at how tough and hard bloggers etc... work and how much passion they have.
The Characters are Entertaining.
The plot is fresh, fun and endearing, I'm really looking forward to the next instalment!

Thank you to Rachel Random Resources for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I picked this up as a light, fluffy read as a balance when I needed a break from a serious more hard hitting book. The story concerns Sophie, who is working hard to promote her online vlogging of make up tutorials. She receives criticism from her mother that this is not a proper job. Sophie is determined to prove her mother wrong. So when her friend Polly suggests incorporating a garden designed by her brother Marcus into her work space and social media Sophie has reservations. Part of the problem is having Marcus Bowman in close proximity. They seem to rub each other the wrong way and yet there is an undeniable attraction. But when he joins into her make up and videos the views and comments start to increase. However that's not all that is increasing. So is the attraction between them but Sophie decides she cannot afford to be derailed from her work by any man.
I liked Marcus but found Sophie too self obsessed to really care about. I did wonder too why her friend Mya's job is shrouded in mystery but I'm guessing that will be covered in another book since this is book 1 of a series. This book is amusing and frothy, but over the top at times. For someone supposed to be professional and work oriented, Sophie makes some careless mistakes.
I'd suggest this story is aimed at a much younger readership than me. Not being a fan of reading about the sex life of others, I didn't appreciate the detailed sex scenes. Others might like them I guess.
All in all it was enjoyable enough when not being too over the top and trying too hard. Others may well love it. For me, it fulfilled the need at the time of a foil to the other book. Doubt that I will read the next book in the series though.

Desperate to turn her fledgling social media makeup channel into a career, Sophie is fully prepared to work herself to the bone to make her dreams come true. She really doesn’t have time for a love life, but somehow, landscape gardener Marcus is managing to insinuate himself into her heart as well as onto her vlogs.

Sophie and Marcus are very believable as a couple, and Sophie has a wonderful group of supportive girlfriends in Mya, Paige and Polly. I know absolutely nothing about makeup or vlogging so probably can’t comment on how ‘legit’ that aspect of the story was, but it read fine to me as someone who is ignorant of either.

Charming and rather funny, though not really enough to fit into the romantic comedy classification, I’d call this a light-hearted contemporary romance. The only place this book was at all let down was in the line editing. The dialogue felt at times quite clunky and I noticed a few misplaced commas, extra ‘that’s which could have been dispensed with, and several times ‘pallet’ used in place of ‘palette’. I enjoyed the read; the storyline was fresh and interesting, but the editing did bring this one down to a four star rating for me.

This is a light-hearted romantic comedy which stars make up tutorial vlogger  Sophie Timney. She's looking for ways to increase her number of followers and views and one of her best friends, Polly, suggest involving her brother, Marcus. Polly sees it as a great way to help Sophie and also a way to help promote her brother's gardening business, the only problem is how they seem to irritate each other so will they be able to work together?

This is an enemies to friends to lovers and sibling's friend romance packed with humour and angst.  I particularly enjoyed him being used as a model that Sophie used some new make up on.... The gardening proves a great excuse to spend time together but with accidental damage, innuendoes and growing attraction as well things certainly aren't going to go smoothly for this pair. With this argumentative couple and lots of funny situations along with some delightfully cute kittens, this is an enjoyable story to escape into for anyone who enjoys contemporary romantic comedy stories.

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.

Wow!! This was one sizzling read and I'm still a little hot under the collar after the chemistry between Sophie and Marcus!! Where do I go to find a gardener like Marcus!!?Serious book boyfriend crush!!

Sophie and Marcus have known each other for years. Marcus' sister Polly is her friend and he's always seen Sophie as high maintenance! With a blossoming career on YouTube as a make- up vlogger, she is totally focussed on raising her profile and reaping the rewards. You just wish sometimes she'd step away from the camera sometimes and have a bit of fun back in her life!

When the idea of using Marcus in the videos, it's hoped to raise the profile of his gardening business and when he appears on camera her numbers shoot up!! Could this be the start of big things ... for both of them!!
I just loved how much fun this story was! Using the vlogging aspect really made it feel up to date, and any mention of gardening gets a big tick from me so it was great to read things from such different business and career viewpoints. Marcus was kind of stuck in his ways on how to advertise his business, so having Sophie there to advise him on the benefits of using social media was an eye opener for him.

Sophie gets a little too obsessive at times over the numbers watching her channel, and even her parents want her to get a 'proper' job! But she's very determined to make things work - I just loved how Marcus makes her see that there's more to life than getting videos uploaded and watching subscriber numbers! The chemistry between them is there for all to see - even more so when there's a camera rolling and filming their time together!!

Loved every single page!! Really excited to read more from this author in the future!! More hot gardeners please!!

Do you ever have those moments when you read a book that has been sitting on your TBR for a while, and then you kick yourself for not having read it earlier?
Well, I had that revelation as I became more and more engrossed in this wonderful debut by Lucy Keeling.
I have been following her progress for a while, but, ashamedly I hadn't managed to read one of her books.
Knowing that book 3 (yes, three, that means I still have another to catch up on!) comes out in less than a week, I felt I simply had to get caught up on the Friends series (not the TV one, obvs!) and so I did.
I must add, as an aside, that Lucy's book came at a time I really needed something to keep my spirits high, put a smile on my face, and generally help me feel good.
And Just A Boyfriend did exactly that!
Sophie is a wannabe social media influencer. She's got her five-year plan, and, as long as she sticks to what she has mapped out, she'll be a wannabe no longer, but, the thing is, her plans don't really involve life in it, as well.
Because, other than work, there is a whole host of other entities that can affect your future plans, including your friends, family, kittens, and men. Specifically, romance with said men.
Romance is a no-no, right now. She has no time for it. But why do feelings keep creeping up on her?
Especially for a certain male who happens to be the brother of one of her best friends?
Such a fun story, with plenty of laugh out loud moments, and cringe factors, where I buried my head in my hands, peeking out that the words that followed, in case that awful thing I thought might happen actually did...
Sophie is surrounded by a fantastic supporting cast, including Paige, her friend and employer, as well as a new foster mum for four gorgeous kittens, Mya, another friend, from uni, as well as her landlady, a woman with a few mysteries of her own, and Polly, Sophie's childhood best friend, who also happens to be the one with the hot bro!
Marcus, (said hot bro), is a gardener and oh, he is such a cute character! With strong feelings already attached to his sister's best mate, he takes on a job, landscaping her garden, not knowing whether he will be able to face Sophie every day.
Oh, I really did love it! Sweet, sexy and sassy, all rolled into one story, and I am so excited to dive into the next one, to find out what is in store for Polly!

It’s not often I’m at a loss for words, but miracle of miracles, this is one of those rare occasions *snorts*.

You know how they say never judge a book by its cover? Well, I present Exhibit A *points at MIUTY book cover* as evidence for the defence. Coz this story took me on a ride I did not see coming. Who knew such steamy deliciousness lay within? *shrugs* I was quite overcome *wafts face* – just W-O-W!

Beauty blogger, Sophie, is a girl with BIG ambitions. Trying to crack the beauty influencer market is no mean feat. Nothing and no one are going to get in her way. It takes hard work, planning and dedication (something she has in spades), but at the end of the day, it’s a numbers game. As in social media followers, likes, views, shares etc.

Stuck in a rut, she grudgingly agrees to a partnership of sorts with her friend’s brother, Marcus (hubba hubba). I freely admit I was left slightly perplexed and scratching my head at what kind of collab a makeup vlogger and gardener would come up with. Intrigued, you will be.

I honestly have not belly-laughed or snort-giggled so much in ages. If I wasn’t lol’ing, I was swooning, if I wasn’t swooning, I was threatening to knock sense into certain characters. My sound effects whilst reading were something special, I’ve gotta say.

Ugh, I honestly just loved everything about this book. The characters and the writing just swept me away and I have never been as glad to find out it’s the start of a series. I think this is one of those times that after each book I’m going to be saying, “They are my favourites.”

I’m showing my age (shut it), but for some reason I kept thinking of the 90’s series, This Life, as I was reading. Everyone has a story to tell. Just obviously with more laughs.

Lucy Keeling is definitely one to watch, and as such, she has just gained a new stalker – I mean fan!

In the mood for a Romantic Comedy that will not only tickle your funny bone but give you all the romantic swoons that you could ever ask for? Then look no further than Lucy Keeling’s new release, MAKE IT UP TO YOU.

Marcus and Sophie may have far different reasons for pairing up to work on Sophie’s make-up tutorials but they (and Sophie’s viewers) certainly are enjoying the connections that it’s obvious they make together. Now getting Sophie and Marcus together in a romantic sense might take a bit more but it’s not out of the realm of possibility that they might just be perfect for each other offline as well. Marcus definitely has the interest and the intent to bring Sophie further into his love life – now Sophie needs to take a few risks beyond what eye shadow color to use today.

I laughed until I cried, gave more than a few sighs, and completely enjoyed MAKE IT UP TO YOU. I don’t purposefully read Rom-Com often (stories with humor, yes, but not specifically looking for Rom-Com), but I do know what I like and I really liked Marcus, Sophie, Polly, and kittens – let me say that again, Kittens. So yeah, I had a blast and I’m hoping for another book real soon for there is more that I need to know.

Looking for a few laughing out loud moments and a tender love story as well? Then you should be picking up MAKE IT UP TO YOU, now.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher, Choc Lit. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

I’ll admit I jumped for this book on the basis of the cover, and boy I’m glad I did!!

We begin meeting Sophie and a group of friends, her friends laughing, her freaking out and I’ll admit it now, I sputtered at what had happened and KNEW the comedy was going to be right up my street!!

I loved reading about Sophie and her work, and did feel for her as she agonised over how to grow her followers. Cue possibly my only road bump in this book-the premise. I spent around ten percent of the book saying ‘but gardening?!’ until I made myself let it go and moved onto appreciating the potential for her business and his to clash, which it did very well!!!

I’ll admit I loved Marcus, in particular when his ‘on screen’ persona came out!!! The scene was well set for me, the comedy gold, the romance so feel-good, as were the clashes. I worried that there were characters I hadn’t met properly, but it turns out this is the first of a series that I’ll definitely look forward to following so I’m sure I’ll be meeting them soon. Thanks so much to Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for the book in return for an honest review.

A cute read but I couldn’t get through it, I felt like there wasn’t enough context for me to be emotionally invested in the characters. A short and sweet summer read with an interesting and new premise of a gardener and an up and coming social media influencer. Not my cup of tea, but that doesn’t mean it’s not someone else’s!

So...I have alot to say about this book, and not because it's my 100th book of the year, but for both good and bad points that are good in reading reviews as an author.
So we'll start with the positives: I loved the premise. A social media influencer who is focused on breaking through, is determined and passionate about her job, about her goals. Yes, we need more characters like this and especially female characters that are determined to get whatever the fuck they want.
The minor characters are hilarious, Mya just made me laugh at her never revealing what her job is (makes me want to actually find out now what in the living hell she actually does!) and I loved the relationship between Marcus and Bailey, being the cheeky kind of chaps that are charming but also show real human emotion instead of just being your tropey dark and brooding type.
So, positives: good story line, charming side characters and a motivated MC. Now let's go to the negatives.
The MC also sucks. Motivated, yes...but she is a bitch for the sake of being a bitch, and that was where my gears were grinded.
You can be a focused woman and a career driven one without being a dick, and in one chapter where she speaks of having to do and missing editing time because her best friend and love interests Father is IN HOSPITAL FOLLOWING A HEART ATTACK...that was it for me.
My sympathy at her being overworked and overwhelmed just went, bye bye, because who in their right mind thinks like that?
And don't say someone passionate about their work, that shit just made me mad and made me like her even less than the low standard I held for her before.
Now this was my other thing which had nothing at all to do with the story, more on the publishing side of things; the editing of this book wasn't good. I found myself at several points highlighting grammar errors, spelling errors, multiple times where a comma was missed and it rendered the sentence unbearable to read in one breath.
To me it seemed as though it came straight from online to print, no editing, no snipping, no read- throughs...it was a put off and something that for sure is on the publishers side of fault than the writers; they are paid to look over for corrections before the final print, and this was clearly not looked over very well.
I liked the book, I really did and I will certainly be reading more of this author, but I do hope it is edited more to show off her skills as a writer than just left full of mistakes.

I have discovered there is no better recommendation than from a favorite author. Previously entitled Make It Up To You, this LOL romcom is a fun everyone-can-see-it-afraid-to-commit love story sure to tickle your funny bone.

Always in control, Sophie is a social media influencer and bartender just trying to make a go at make up videos, but her numbers are falling and she needs to improve her following. So when her friend and landlady Mya tells her to try posting a garden make over for her home, Sophie reluctantly agrees. It's her friend Polly's brother, Marcus, and he's always getting a rise out of her...and there's the time he kissed her last year. But she didn't want a relationship. She just wanted to succeed at "bringing her passion to life". But Marcus looks so good working in the garden with his shirt off...

Marcus has it bad. After Sophie rejected him last year, he can't help but push her buttons to see the sparkle in her eyes and the blush on her cheeks. She's fascinating and beautiful and he can't help be attracted to her.  In the meantime, he will do anything to get her to commit to his future game plan.

Who would ever think making a man over on social media would be so hot?! There's lots of chemistry between Sophie and Marcus and told in both their points of view it is delightful watching them come to terms with that attraction.  However, I'm not a big fan Sophie at first because she comes across as a self-obsessed workaholic who is just rude and hostile towards Marcus who, in my opinion, doesn't deserve it. I had to laugh at how Marcus eggs her on and playfully antagonizes her, because it's exactly the way my husband gets under my skin. Marcus is hard-working, amusing, and sweet who definitely deserves a medal for putting up with Sophie's unwarranted animosity.  What can I say? Love is blind.

In addition, I love Sophie's supportive and candid friends Paige, the kitten mom and reverse psychologist, Polly (Marcus' sister), the serial dater, and Mya, the woman with a secret job. I also enjoy Bailey who is definitely hiding something and the calm and wise, Joseph. I can't wait to hear more about their stories.

I enjoyed this pleasant and playful romance because of the interesting social media influencing aspect, the entertaining characters, and humorous situations such as Sophie's uncut contouring video.

So the premise of this novel had me intrigued; how on earth can a make-up blogger and a gardener work together?! The idea of two such different personalities and career paths crossing in a mutually beneficial way seemed more than a little hard to believe but I was more than willing to give it a try. Thankfully, Lucy Keeling seems to know what she is doing!

Make It Up To You is obviously a light-hearted rom-com, but it was nice to see such a strong, ambitious female lead character. Sophie Timney is a make up blogger who has a very clear plan for her blog, which will ultimately culminate in her being able to quit her bar job to focus on her chosen career path. She has grown her blog with her make up tutorials, but despite her planning, she finds her number of followers stalling. When her best friend Polly suggests that she teams up with her brother Marcus, a budding landscape gardener who is also seeking to increase his business, she is initially sceptical. Particularly considering their shared history. What ensues proves to be a lucrative business arrangement for the both of them. What Sophie doesn't plan for though is her rising feelings for the very attractive Marcus. Their easy-going, comfortable relationship has the potential to seriously impact on her plan. The plan that she won't allow anything or anyone to sidetrack.

Make It Up To You is a really light, fun novel about two equally ambitious characters, some fab female relationships, and highlights the great things that can happen if you occasionally deviate from your life plans. This novel is perfect for those cozy Sunday afternoons in front of a roaring fire with a nice glass of wine. If we have to put up with the changing seasons and weather, then we may as well open up our imaginations to a shirtless Marcus working in Sophie's garden!

I'll be honest, I bought this book in order to make up the numbers for a multi-buy deal in the bookshop and so I wasn't expecting a lot, but was pleasantly surprised!

This book made me laugh out loud a fair few times, and was a sweet love story that was easy to follow, without skipping over the stress of trying to maintain both a relationship and a job. It is also fairly short so is a good one-day read for those days where you don't feel like starting a long book.

What I really was not expecting however, was how descriptive this book was regarding certain adult activities (I bought this from the book section of a kids arts and crafts store so it came as a bit of a shock!), and although I didn't find all of these scenes to be all that realistic, it was certainly still enough to get you a little hot and bothered as Sophie (the main character) might say!

All in all, for a book I bought on a whim I was pleased with my random purchase, and will be recommending it to a few friends for sure!

If your looking for a cute easy read romance book then this is prefect for you.
And at only 245 pages it is nice and quick too! Before starting this book I was in a reading slump and everything I started just didn’t draw me in ( the problem with being a mood reader !)

I fancied a nice romance read with nothing too complicated or heavy ( it ends with us I’m looking at you ) and thankfully I saw this one on my shelf and gave it a chance !

The author says at the back of the book that she wants to provide happily ever after books to provide a little light relief from this crazy world and wow she delivered ! I think I may have found a new favourite romance author to add to my list .

There are so many lovable characters in this story besides Sophie and Marcus . And I think everyone deserves a little Marcus in there lives ! There’s a little bit of spice but not too much. I personally never felt the story dragged which made for an entirely enjoyable read and one I’d definitely recommend .

I’m giving this a 2.5 because I didn’t hate it. That being said the writing wasn’t great, it was very amateurish at times and had way to much detail in places so I found myself getting bored. Also the way it’s written makes everything that happens feel so unbelievable. It’s just not smooth and too drawn out. No body acts like that.
You could have cut half the words and put in a few extra plot points, that would have cleared it up but still made it the same length since this is a very short book.
Also I kinda hate Sophie and there’s no mystery in how either of the main characters are feeling because we’re given their every thought right from the get go. It’s clear they already love each other so it’s not a true enemies to lovers type book. The enemies bit of that, by the way, wasn’t even last longer that a few pages so if your hoping to get your kicks out of watching to people who genuinely hate each other, this books not it.

Omg this book was lovely to read. Full of suspence every now and then but the last bit had me in tears. Good on you Soph wanting to get your career sorted before the love life. But as Mya kept telling her theres only so much a guy can take of being pushed away but you have a keeper there as not many guys or girls would allow you to come back to them after being pushed away to many times. Oh and Lucy had me laughing so much about the accidental sex tape between Soph and Marcus so glad it wasnt a live feed or the makeup company wouldnt have loved that one haha. The book reminded me of 50shades but I have to say I loved this one better as it was not cull of sex or sex scenes as its more realistic … sorry E L James

3.5 ***

🔸️I did really enjoy the book, I enjoyed the bickering and the banter and I like that it was set locally to me.

🔸️A beauty vlogger and a garden landscaper what could happen right?

🔸️Plus a bunch of functioning chaotic adults just living in unison trying to get through life 😂 We have all been there!

🔸️This was lighthearted, funny but a little predictable but all the same a nice easy read.

🔸️it has cute little kittens and a lot of cuppas in it which is a bonus!

🔸️ plus the extra bit of spice

🔸️ I think I kind of guessed what was coming at the end but it was cute and we were all rooting for it.

This was a new author to me and will read more by her as was such a warm read with great characters and the plot gets you hooked as well and full of romance and friendships and blogging.
Polly does make up tutorials and she needs more views so suggests to her friend Sophie that she involves her brother Marcus who is a gardener. She thinks joining forces will help them both out as he wants more business as well. Problem is Marcus gets under her skin but the views and comments start to increase but then she realises that her viewers like Marcus but problem is so is she but she won’t admit it. Will she be able to admit it in time or not.

This is a really fun and light romance book that can easily be read in one sitting. The story definitely lacked depth, but I don’t think that this is a book that was intended to be taken too seriously. It was nice to read something less intense and dramatic, and even less problematic, for a change.

The book was well-paced, funny, and romantic, but most importantly, realistic. I really liked all of the characters, despite Sophie annoying me from time to time.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading it and I am looking forward to reading the next two books in this series!

I really wanted to like this book but i just couldn't stop disliking the main character, she was shallow and uninteresting, i couldn't wrap my brain around how selfish and self involved she was, honestly those two stars are only there because of Marcus, he deserved a better heroine, literally anyone else in the book would have been better, not his sister cause ew, kept hoping for a redeeming quality from her but we are only told she has them from her friends, hopefully cause they seemed like awesome people, i just couldn't feel it on the page.

Such an entertaining romcom book!
Loved the modern feel with the blogging concept, and the fabulous characters too.
Great chemistry between Sophie and Marcus, he certainly sounds the perfect gardener! Loved the build up between them.
I’m so intrigued to know what Mya’s job is! I hope she features in a future book by this author!
Overall it’s an impressive first novel, and I for one will definitely be looking out for more from this talented author.

Picked this up from a free book stand as it seemed like a pretty lighthearted read. Overall it was that. However, I didn’t really get the chemistry between Sophie and Marcus. Also, there were constant references to a kiss that happened a year ago, but neither of them actually discuss it. Sophie later abandoning Marcus while his dad is at the hospital didn’t seem like a proportional response to the situation and he just forgave her? I liked Mya’s character and the cats were pretty cute.

Not my favorite. I didn't particularly enjoy the writing style and the storyline felt way too cliche to make me continue. I did manage to make it through, but it wasn't the laugh out loud comedy it's claimed to be. Though I will read the second book in the series, on account of having already purchased it.
