Dana Gray knew few things for certain. The earth was round. Death was inevitable. And Jake Shepard didn’t do promises. Until now.
With a serial killer unleashing a Grim Reaper murder spree in D.C. it will take everything Dana has to fight for the life she’s always wanted. She has seven days to stop seven murders and she has to do it without Jake Shepard and the FBI.
With her friend and protégé in the D.C. Reaper’s sights, Dana is pulled into a psychiatric web of lies and occult rituals that even she can’t solve. Is this a political strike or something more sinister? She’ll have to race against time, trust past betrayals, and open old wounds if she hopes to save everyone she’s afraid to admit she loves.
C.J. Cross grew up in a snowy little Northeast town, cutting her teeth on true crime novels to stave her love of all things mysterious. The writing bug bit her early and she found her way into the publishing world, writing 50+ books under various top secret pen names over the years.
Now relocated to a place where she can safely trade in her snowshoes for flip flops, she's found a reason to dust off her old Criminal Justice degree and she's turned an old passion into a new flame, writing compelling thrillers novels.
When she's not writing you can usually find her drinking bourbon with fellow authors or spoiling her rescue pup.
This was indeed my favorite so far...... My only disappointment, the "the were together and then were not" just wish the.author would make.up their mind about the romance, kind of getting old
I have enjoyed the first four books in this series. As I looked at the fifth book description and then realized that this selection was not a part of kindle unlimited I was upset that there was a $4.99 charge to purchase. I already pay a monthly charge for kindle books. I am sure Dana and Jake will solve the case in New Orleans and they will live happily ever after, but I won't be paying extra to read about it.
What the heck! I just can’t with this! First off I’m upset and disappointed in the direction but absolutely genius! I still wished for a different outcome! Poor Dana. She has just lost so much!! Love this series though. I know this review is passive-aggressive! lol 😂 love and hate!
I kind of hated it. I've spent 3 previous books becoming invested in these characters and I feel like this one is so far from where the author started. I skimmed half of it bc 2 of the main characters kept waffling between suspicion and protection for the 3rd character. I don't think I'm going to keep reading the series now, to be honest.
This series kept me on the edge of my seat. Great twist with Claire. I wanted Dana and Jake to get together so I was very disappointed in the ending. Hopefully...another book will come out. I would recommend this series to all who like murder mysteries.
Loved this book to the very last page. Never boring, never lulls in the dialog or descriptions. It was hard to quit reading at night just to sleep. Enjoyed every minute of it.
I loved this series. The epilogue though really threw me a twist I never anticipated.
Would have loved to see the love story fully play out in the end including the tasks that needed to be accomplished. That part was disappointing. I love happy endings.
I must admit Dr. Gray is an odd person. But I must admit there further I get into the series the more interesting I the story gets. I'm sure Dana and Jake will reconcile there differences a d get back together.
This story started off a little slow but suddenly took off and left me burning to understand what was going to happen. Until the last page, the story twisted and turned. It is a wonderful read that requires you to think.
This was a thriller to end all thrillers. So full of suspense. It kept me guessing until the very end and beyond. The epilogue set up the story for the next book.
Such a great book, the first three were great and this one was just as great. I didn’t want to put it down, any chance I got I was reading it throughout the day. A most read.
