I've agreed to work for a Demigod. My job? Find the spirit of his mother and release her before his vengeful father finds out and kills us all.
Have I lost my mind?
Thankfully, I don't have to do it alone. Kieran has brought in help: a Necromancer who loves to flirt with danger. Bria can help me find the clues to free Kieran's mom.
She can also help me learn my potent and extremely terrifying magic.
But as we work deeper into magical San Francisco, we uncover a minefield waiting to explode. I'm learning that there are far worse things than death.

Basic Plot: Alexis seeks to fulfill her contract to find Kieran's mother's selkie skin, while learning more about her powers.
I like all of the characters in this series. The teenagers are hilarious. Alexis herself is the very picture of a hot mess doing her level best to keep it together. The six all have distinctive personalities. Bria is a hoot. Even Kieran is fun in his way. I love the dynamics created depending on who is around at any given moment. The story is developing at just the right pace, and I like how all the puzzle pieces of Alexis's life are coming together.
Alexis accepted the contract with Kieran. He brings in Brea, a necromancer, to help train and work with Alexis. Brea is... unhinged. she is a necromancer, so that fits perfectly. Mordecai gets to train with the six and Jack to prepare himself for his first shift. Daisy becomes a special interest for Zorn. He starts straining her to become an accassin. Alexis learns more about Kieran's mother and father dynamic and how he keeps spirits trapped on the mortal plane. Alexis gets different "training exercises" and Brea gets her in trouble too, that makes Alexis find the location of the skin of Kieran's mother. She is set free and Kieran terminates the contract with Alexis. They 'say' goodbye to eachother, where Alexis experiments with her soul-reaching/touching power, on her and Kieran. It's new and powerfull. She keeps working with Brea, to save a spirit she met before, despite Kieran wanting her to stay safe and anonymous. While she figures out how to free the spirit from the cage that has been setup to specifically target buildings to trap souls/spirits, thing run amis. The connection made between Kieran and Alexis shows what it can do for them both and he gets her and Brea out of trouble. Once Kieran suggests for Alexis to flee and hide, Alexis tells him she is in the fight to defeat his father and she isn't moving.

I bought this series as the Dramatized version instead of the regular version ONLY because it was only 1 book each. Compared to their normal (cash grab scheme) splitting them into 2 or more parts, which I hate that they do that. I only want 1 book per book. And because they were on sale. Otherwise, their prices are outrageous.
Pros to this version: 1. Each character has their own narrator, which is something regular audiobooks need to be doing. 2. The rearrangement of the scenes and paragraphs seemed necessary as the original writing seemed all over the place and the author should think about editing the original to match the dramatized version.
Cons: 1. They completely rearranged the whole thing. I can't follow along in the book. 2. Their "sexual" noises (moaning, kissing etc) are sooo fucking fake and just disturbing. They did cut out most of the sex scenes which I was glad for because skimming through them, they seemed stupid.
@ THE COMPANY--- IF YOU ARE GOING TO REARRANGE THE WHOLE BOOK, U NEED TO COME OUT WITH A SCRIPT TO FOLLOW ALONG.
And this one showed much more of Kieran's accent. It seems it comes out more when he's tired or his emotions are high and the voice actor for him was really good. Also, I forget how much Zorn speaks despite being described as the quiet one.
Also, I love Brea so much. Choo choo! The voice actor for her is so dang perfect I cannot handle it. She was the result of a lot of the times I almost laughed. I had to try so hard not to laugh. She is amazing and I'm so glad she will be around for the rest of the series.
4* This dramatized version was available on Libby so I listened to it after reading book 1 on my kindle. This was quite entertaining with all the different voices and not sure if I was a fan of it but I did like that the story continued on so I was able to follow it fairly easily. If you did read book 1 then I would suggest reading this next one fairly quickly so everything stays fresh in your mind.
Továbbra is nagyon jó a sorozat. Most jutottak csak el a főszereplők oda, hogy együtt vannak és ez nagyon tetszik. Van egy olyan érzésem, hogy még lesznek ellenségek is a sorozat folyamán. 4⭐️
The series is still very good. The main characters have only just now gotten to the point where they are together and I really like that. I have a feeling that there will be enemies throughout the series. 4⭐️
I liked this one even more than the first one. Great development of storyline and characters. New characters like Bria are so good. She's the necromancer brought in to help, but sometimes she just helps to get Alexis into trouble. I'm excited to continue this series.
4.25 ⭐️ Graphic Audio is amazing! Looking forward to see what challenges the characters ahead. Glad there was some resolution but not as much danger as I expected with the way the characters were talking or acting like there would be. On to book 3!
Not sure of my opinion on this series yet. I’m listening to the graphic audio books and I do find them to be slightly immature. Maybe a better series if it’s read physically. It does make me laugh though so there is that.
This series has been so fun so far. I love the graphic audio. It really showcases the banter and humor of KF Breene’s characters. Can’t wait to start the next one 😻
Love, love love this series! Comedy, action and romance. I’ve been listening to the Graphic Audio. The FL’s voice is very annoying, however I pushed past book 1 and am over it completely.
