Thera, daughter of Ares, God of War, is being used as his pawn to start a war between the Trozens and the Centaur Race.
When Kyros, second son of the deceased king, jumps in front of Ares' beam, he unknowingly volunteers to father Thera's child. Ares plan was to impregnate her with the seed of a centaur and send her to marry Kyros' evil brother, Pittheus, hence starting a war between the races.
Thera is thrilled her father's plan is ruined, but Kyros does not share in her happiness. Cursed by Ares, he is man by day and centaur by night. He keeps his secret from Thera, knowing how much she hates centaurs, and not even sure of the race of the baby. But as their relationship develops, his secret which could destroy them all hangs heavy over his head.
His heroic act brings them together, but his dark secret threatens to tear them apart, in Kyros' Secret.

Thera, goddess of sensations, daughter of Ares and Aphrodite, is a disappointment to both her parents. She isn’t beautiful nor does she want to kill.
Kyros late father, the king of Trozan wanted to unite the Trozens and the centaurs. But now his brother is king and Kyros has been cursed by Ares.
Now the two of them are caught up in a plot by Ares to start a war between the Trozens and the centaurs.
I usually love stories about the ancient pantheons. Going into this it seemed a little off and I wasn’t sure yet if I was going to continue this series. But it wasn’t that bad, but there’s an awful lot of emoting, indecision and regret for the decisions finally made. Situations were either too easily solved, comical or illogical. There isn’t a single character in this that seems to have and sense, except maybe Chiron. But even by the middle of the book I knew what was going to happen and wished they’d just get on with it.
Fave scenes: the snake, the weaver’s hut, Mars’ reaction to Pittheus’ reaction to Thera being pregnant and the rose colored shawl.
Very cool story about the Greek gods and their interactions with people. Not all of the children of the gods want to be gods themselves. This is the story of one who chose mortality for the love of a human.
I found this story interesting and it usually don’t read this type of story but I couldn’t give up the story once I started it. It would be nice to have their lives continued a little longer.
This was everything I wish for more.... She finally get her man and her life that she dreamed of ❣️ I can't wait till I see what happens in the Oracle or Delphi ❗❓
One thing that is a given is that when the Gods of Olympus get bored they cause trouble. They also have this nasty habit of doing what ever they want to get their way. Thera, the daughter of Ares has no wish to help her farther start a war and can't believe he would use her to do it. Kyros the second son of a king is cursed by Ares and he will do anything to stop him for accomplishing his goal. Prejudice is not just a human trait and Kyros has a tough job to change Thera's beliefs if they are going to stop Ares. I enjoyed the different combination of god interactions and had to laugh at how human they acted sometimes. This was an interesting concept and I think Ms. Rose did a great job pulling us into this mythological tale. The story was easy to read, was well written and kept your interest right up to the end.
It could be a real Greek myth. Full of drama and betrayal. The objectifying got old fast. Awkward dialogue made parts of this into a farce. It ended up being too ridiculous.
Kyros has been cursed by Ares, when he hears about another curse so he thinks is about to happen he jumps in front of the beam from Ares and Thera but what happens surprise's even him.
