Book Review: Pieces of Us by: Vi Summers

Breathtakingly beautiful novel with all the feels… seriously have a box of tissues with this one.

I’m not kidding when I say all the feels… Laughing, crying, happiness, joy, sadness, loneliness, loss, and despair . The first part of the book has laugh out loud moments and adrenaline and then takes a turn. In the roller coaster of emotions you have him this book is amazing like if you need a good cleansing meaningful read this one is for you!! Eloquently written and beautifully executed you like I said have all the feels that rock you to your core. A well balance of the ups and downs we all experience so you can really have empathy for the characters in the book.

Kasey is a funny, strong willed, rebel so it’s absolutely hilarious to me she wound up with a cop but he balances her out for sure! Reed is also so freaking strong and is somehow able to cope in the life after the tragic accident.

This is a story that doesn’t have a moment of a slow down and it’s beautiful!! I devoured it and highly recommend you read it!

Oh my goodness, make sure you have a box of tissues with you when you start reading this book. First, I was chuckling so much that I had happy tears in my eyes, and then the next thing, my tears had changed dramatically. The writing is so poignant and intense that you feel everything so clearly. This story has an excellent balance between the lighter and darker elements of life. I found it very thought-provoking, and all of the relevant feelings came alongside it.

Kasey is such a strong woman with a terrific sense of humour, she’s a bit of a rebel and dating a cop doesn’t dissuade her from her plans. Reed is another strong character, thankfully, because he needed a lot of strength to cope with the disaster and aftermath of Kasey’s accident. Without spoiling anything, I can say Reed showed himself to be made from sturdy stuff and holds family dear.

I literally found it so hard to put this book down as it is so good. The story flows smoothly, and there’s never a dull moment with everything happening. I love how relatable the story is because Kase doesn’t immediately jump back into Reed’s arms, and there is no quick solution. Reading about Banks and Simone, as well as Reed and Banks’ mum, was good. Bring on book three!

So when I asked Ms Summers if I would need shares in kleenex to get through this book she assured me that although I might…it wouldn’t be an ugly cry….with relief I can wholeheartedly agree with that statement!!

While this story has many moments of sadness, uncertainty, unfairness and pain it is also laced with wonderful humour, loads of sass, steam and best of all hope!
Yes Reed and Kasey are dealt the worst of luck with the situation they find themselves in and yet somehow they come out stronger and with a richer life than they could have imagined!

Ms Summers is such a great story teller, I love this family, with all their banter and realness. Reed is just the most wonderful man…how he steps up and deals was so admirable….I got a little testy with Kasey but still understood her reluctance. The author approaches this subject with a sensible head….there is no quick fix!!

I loved the epilogue!! Just perfect for this pair😊😊

Oh, what can I say? Vi Summers is an author new to me and this book was wonderful.
The action and characters grabbed me from the first page. Lots of love and laughter had me falling for the protaganists Reed and Kacey as well as their friend and family.

When disaster strikes in the form of an accident there are n seemingly insurmountable obstacles in the way of them continuing to build a life together. But Reed is there to support Kacey even as she pulls away at first.

When further tragedy hits Gatling Falls Reed struggles can Kacey be the support he needs?

All the emotions were in this one, love, despair, devastation, fear, humour, grief, more love; it all came through the pages clear as day and in felt them all with the characters.

I'm excited for more of this series and am keen to read more from Vi.

Hold onto your emotions because this one will take you on a rollercoaster. Vi writes a beautiful story…I enjoy reading the amnesia tripe but boy does it pull at your heart strings. Can’t even imagine.

Kasey and Reed’s story is amazing. They are destined to be together forever, making plans and living their best life. But in one moment everything can change forever.

I love how strong Reed is and how never gives up, he keeps pushing, fighting and proving his love for Kasey…even though she doesn’t remember him.

Kasey is strong..but also terrified that she cannot remember her past. She has an amazing supper system (including Reed) that helps her heal, recover and accept her new life.

Although serious in nature, there are many lol moments, great banter and love that cannot be denied.

Reed and Kasey's story is a second chance romance that is overflowing with love, hope, passion and so much emotion. A story that is filled with drama, banter and family support. As you dive into their story you will find it hard to put down as you devour each and every word. This author has a way of ensuring that her words wrap themselves securely around your heart and have you feeling each and every emotion soul deep. An utterly captivating romance that leaves you feeling nothing but happiness.

Given this ARC for a honest and personal review

Well this book started out HOT and I loved it and then it ripped my heart out and jumped on it. Finally I was able to put it back in my chest and rebuild it.
I loved it

So this is the story of Kasey and Reed. Who met when Kasey was arrested by Reed and the chemistry just flew with these two unfortunately this was not to last when tragically they were ripped apart. There are funny, teary moment and so much hotness.

As someone who is a trusted(hope so at least) ARC’s reader for this author this has been my favourite one so far it is so easy to read and flow so well the chapters are short and easy to pick up and put down which is great for this mothers head somedays.

Pick up a copy of it on release day you will not regret it.

A steamy heartwarming story.
I loved the heartache, the family aspect, the closeness of the Gatlin Family.
I couldn’t put this book down. Am absolute ride, that I'm so happy I went on.

I fell in love with Kasey and Reed. This is a story about second chance love but with a massive twist. Reed and Kasey were perfect for each other and were looking at a wonderful future together but fate intervened and it looked as though all would be lost but there is a huge twist and they both have to overcome some obstacles to get their HEA. This book really had it all but it was the emotional aspect that had me reading like an obsessed person to get the answers that I so desperately craved. Lots of good moments but also some emotional moments. My first book by Vi Summers and I can confidently say it won’t be my last.

Kasey and Reed’s story first begun in Your Echo when Kasey first came to Gatlin Falls to visit her best friend, Simone. The two started a long distance relationship and Kasey was ready to move into Gatlin Falls when she met with an accident. The accident changed everything.

I have to say, I found myself going through the waves of tears and calm throughout this book. There’s a mix of sweetness and sourness like all other relationships - a combination of multiple feelings. I love the strong family support that they receive. Plus, Reed’s never ending love and patience for his girl had me falling for him too!

Their story is making believe that falling in love for the same person a second time can actually happen.

This is the first book that I have read from this author. This book was absolutely amazing. It was heart wrenching, touching and loveable. I absolutely loved the storyline and the characters. There was amazing chemistry between Reed and Kasey.
Reed and Kasey meet when she gets arrested with her best friend. Instant chemistry. But one night and an accident changes everything. Reed realizes just what he is missing when Kasey ends up not remembering him. But life changes more than just that. Will Kasey come back to him or will he lose her? I absolutely loved this gripping story from beginning to end. There are tender moments, sad moments, funny moments and aww moments.

This is my first read of Vi Summers.

This is a beautiful story about two people who lost so much and gained something so much more in return.

One fatal accident turned Kasey and Reed's life into a tailspin.

When Reed goes into the hospital to find out what happened, he's met with something that will
hurt him forever. Kaseys in a coma.

When she comes out of the coma, she remembers everyone else but doesn't remember Reed.

He is devastated and hurt, but he's bound and determined to try and win her back.
Will he succeed?
You will have to find out..

I liked this book.
Had some laughs and made cry a little bit. I really enjoyed reading it. It was written really well.
The two main characters seemed like they were meant to be together. The chemistry was undeniable.. It was an easy fast read read. Finished in one sitting...

***Deserves more than 5🌟!***

Welcome back to Gatlin Falls with PIECES OF US from amazingly talented author Vi Summers!!! Oh my heart, I fell in love with this family of brothers the moment I set my greedy eyes on YOUR ECHO, where we first met Constable Reed Gatlin and Kasey Quinn as secondary characters. Even then, the flirtatious chemistry between them was so strong I couldn’t wait to read their story.

Ms Summers took the plot from 0 – 100 in only a few sentences and to say she came in hot is one hell of an understatement!!! She shared just how intense the relationship between Reed and Kasey had gotten, where the heat, love and laughter fairly emanated from the virtual pages of my kindle. Seriously though, once Kasey had teased Constable Reed Gatlin upon her speedy arrival into Gatlin Falls, then her getting to Reed’s place after his shift later that evening, I thought even my tablet would want a cigarette for itself! 🔥🔥🔥

I’d just settled into the hot loving romance of their story when Ms Summers ripped the rug of happiness right out from under Reed, Quinn AND me, that I was propelled into abject despair.

BUT, I love amnesia stories, and I knew that Ms Summers would bring about the one of most beautiful and amazing stories I’d ever read about (hopefully) re-discovered love. And I believe she’s done just that.

I can’t even begin to describe the depth and breadth of emotion that she can infuse into her writing. I am in awe of her writing talent. PIECES OF US was crammed full of feeling and I ran the gamut from tears to laughter, sometime both at once. I’d be crying into my paper towels while letting out a snort of surprised laughter, then continue with the crying jag before lapsing into that warm fuzzy feeling that comes with just being at one with the characters.

Reed and Kasey were perfectly written, both as individual characters and together as partners. My heart broke for them. Her accident might have ruined them, but her Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) just could have finished them off if it hadn’t for their strength and Reed’s consistent and unconditional tenacious love. Her recovery and re-discovering of love and motherhood wasn’t magical, it was hard. Step-by-each-gutting-step, their future was fought for and I hoped it worked out. Becoming a single father and fighting to keep the other half of his soul tested Reed to his very limit, and it was family and friends who stepped up beautifully. The characters Ms Summers has created are very real and relatable, and this series is now compulsory reading for me!!!

If you’re into second-chances, small towns, local cops, single fathers and amnesia tropes that give you ALLLLLLL the feels, even ones that will have you squirming in your seat (🔥🔥🔥) then this is for you. Seriously, just go get it. And it deserves more than 5-squirmy-hot-wrenching-tearful-laughing-Stars🌟!

Wow, this was a really good read! When I read the blurb, I was like “Dang, she went from small time felon to finding her forever man! Wonder if that could work for me?” lol So I was totally prepared to laugh and even though the blurb also hinted at some tragedy, I wasn’t fully prepared for all the questions and sorrow I felt. What do you do in this situation?? The author didn’t warn us of the little twist in the blurb, so that threw even more questions that I just had to find the answers to by reading as fast as I could. This book will make you laugh, cry, get sentimental, protective, and downright mad at life in general because sometimes life just sucks. Just hang in there and you’ll find that HEA. Now I’ve gotta go back and read the first book in this series as this is my first book with this author and I really need to know about the other Gatlin brother!

In the blink of an eye everything can change and this story is proof of that. Reed and Kasey’s story is an emotional and beautiful journey that I couldn’t get enough of.

The chemistry between Reed and Kasey is something else. These two go through a lot and even though it all you can still feel it between them. Reed is also just extra swoony, so he is easy to fall in love with…mulitple times. I felt for Kasey throughout this story, you can feel her pain and her struggles at time and it would be hard for anyone in the same situation.

If you’re looking for a single dad, second chance with a twist, small town romance check this one out.

Vi Summers is a new author to me, and I am surprised I have not come across more of her books before. This may have been my first book, but it won’t be my last.

Pieces of Us was en entertaining, well written story with characters you cannot help but fall for. This is Kasey Quinn and Reed Gatlin’s story and it ticked numerous boxes for me.

This book was heartbreaking and heartwarming and I found myself both smiling and tearing up at times. What do you do when the love of your life doesn’t know you?

It was emotional as Kasey and Reed fought to get their life back on track.

This is Kasey Quinn and Reed Gatlin’s heartbreaking and heartwarming journey. From the moment I picked this book up I was captivated because I needed to know how this couples story panned out. What do you do when the love of your life has no idea who you are…..you fight.
This book touched me on so many levels, I cried, I smiled and I cheered as I watched this couple fight to find their memories and their love.

I LOVED THIS STORY!

First, I love these characters.

Reed is the kind of man that many women would want. Kind, loving, loyal and patient.

Especially when things did not go the way he was expecting them to.

Kasey battled within herself and her mind because of the accident.

The night changed Reed and Kasey's lives.

I know several people who have had different kinds of accidents, and they had the same diagnosis as Kasey's and Vi got it right. I felt every single emotion and worry.

And the book had several steamy parts.

Great Book

This is the second book , in the "Gatlin Series." I'm defenity, reading more. This was the first book, I read, from this author. This book was Great. I just couldn't put it down. 💓 Lacey and Reed.

I expected to cry & that there would also be great spice and it did not disapoint, especially given this was a new to me author. I haven't found Amnesia books great before as I've found them rushed & pushing for reconciliation too quick but Reed manages his own frustrations & expectations to allow Kasey time to recover for herself first.
The emotional journey is woven throughout; from an opening spicy scene dropping straight into tears, which remain in phases, to the very end.
The steamy scenes are great, varied, vocal and with a balance of fantasy & the realities of life.
