“You’ve got me all wrong.” Inspired by his nine-book Conversations with God series, many people have asked Neale Donald Walsch to find a way to deliver the most essential pieces of God’s message to us in a more succinct way.
This concise text details and expands just what we need to know about life and how to live it. Bringing his many conversations over the years into sharper focus than ever before, Walsch in What God Said encourages readers to cast aside religious and cultural trappings. To experience life as fallible—and human—beings, open-minded, open-hearted, and all-embracing, and to build on, broaden, and enrich our Ancient Story.
But to move forward on this ever-expanding and encompassing spiritual voyage means not only understanding what Walsch considers the most important insights of his Conversations with God, but also applying them in the most practical ways. And so Walsch has included solid suggestions on how to apply each of the 25 Core Messages in daily life. Should humanity begin carrying these messages forward, starting today, we can change the world.
Neale Donald Walsch is a modern day spiritual messenger whose words continue to touch the world in profound ways. With an early interest in religion and a deeply felt connection to spirituality, Neale spent the majority of his life thriving professionally, yet searching for spiritual meaning before beginning his now famous conversation with God. His With God series of books has been translated into 34 languages, touching millions of lives and inspiring important changes in their day-to-day lives.
In addition to authoring the renowned With God series, Neale has published 16 other works, as well as a number of video and audio programs. Available throughout the world, each of the CwG dialogue books has made the New York Times Bestseller list, Conversations with God-Book 1 occupying that list for over two and half years.
The With God Series has redefined God and shifted spiritual paradigms around the globe. In order to deal with the enormous response to his writings, Neale created the Conversations with God Foundation, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to inspiring the world to help itself move from violence to peace, from confusion to clarity, and from anger to love.
Neale's work has taken him from the steps of Macchu Picchu in Peru to the steps of the Shinto shrines of Japan, from Red Square in Moscow to St. Peters Square in Vatican City to Tiananmen Square in China. And everywhere he has gone-from South Africa to Norway, Croatia to The Netherlands, the streets of Zurich to the streets of Seoul, Neale has found a hunger among the people to find a new way to live, at last, in peace and harmony, and he has sought to bring people a new understanding of life and of God which would allow them to experience that."
This is a great summary of the 25 core principles from the Conversations with God Series (9 books total). I thought this was a good refresher and practical guide to applying each of the 25 principles in my daily life. I would NOT recommend reading this book instead of reading the entire 9 book series but I would recommend having it around as a handbook to dip in and out of from time to time. By reading this book without reading the entire series you'll get a great overview of the core principles but you miss so much more. I can't stress enough that this book should be read as a companion to the full series not as a supplement. With that being said, here are a few of my favorite principles from the book, all of which completely changed the way I think about myself, God and humanity as a whole.
CWG Principle #1 - We are all ONE All things are one thing and all things are apart of the one thing that is
CWG Principle #2 - Theres enough Its not necessary to complete over, much less fight over your resources, all you have to do is share.
CWG Principle #4 - God talks to everyone all the time The question is not who god talks to. The question is who listens
CWG Principle #9 - There is no such place as hell and eternal damnation does not exist
CWG Principe #10 - Death does not exist What you call death is a simply a process of re-identifcation. It is the illusion of our separation from God that is over NOT life...we have come home. (this one is a tear jerker read "Home With God" the last book in the convo with God series to get the totality of this message)
This is one of the best series of books ever produced.(Speaking of the full CWG 9 book series) You don't have to read far nor do you have to agree with everything in them to see that. A truly aw inspiring work.

This book along with all of Neals books can change the course of humanity. For a moment forget everything you've every been told about God and life and just be open minded for a change.
I am a huge fan of this author's work. The first three CWG books and his "you got me all wrong" books are among my favorites. But this book just has a lot of the same stuff that is in those books. Unlike his other books, there isn't much of a message in here. In fact, I felt like I read 377 pages of a commercial where the author promoted all of his other books. He admits that he does this towards the end, but that doesn't make it ok. I actually couldn't wait for this book to be over and that is a rare occurrence when I am reading something written by Neal Donald Walsch.
I love the peaceful feeling I get when I read his books. I like this version where it summarizes the 25 core messages. This book brings light in a darkened world.
Walsh himself says these spiritual messages get repetitive and he's right. But somehow that repetition strengthens the messages and gives them their power.
I didn't think I could get through a 9 book series, so I bought this one that summarizes it. It took me 4 years to read it because it was a lot to think about and digest. In retrospect, the 9 book series might have been faster. I think his last chapter probably should've been closer to the beginning of the book, but maybe he did that on purpose so we'd take the ideas more seriously and not so easily dismiss things that were a real mind-blowing concept.
There's a lot of concepts I really love and appreciate and there's some that I really struggle with. I will probably start reading the 9 book series to get more clarification on it and decide more carefully what I think about it.
Really enjoyed this one. Yes, it is a repeat of many of the ideas from his other books, but for me good reminders, and it is condensed from the other books.
I haven't read all the books, this one inspired me to go back and both re-read and find the other books he and God have written.
I like the Conversations - they fit with my long term views of life and humanity. If we all took more of this to heart, I think we would be more loving and generous to one another. (I still have a lot of learning to go!)
This is the third book I've read by this author. I like how he teaches us some things repeatedly in his books and then adds new things to these teachings that God has given him. My favorite teaching is that we are one with all others. He mentioned being more aware and I found more awareness from meditating and highly recommend this book as well as Meditation For Dummies.
This culminates all the Conversations with God in a concrete, 25-thing list. So, for the cheapo, 'I-read-the-ending-give-me-the-spoilers' kind of person, this is your book. The other books can provide more background but this is the distillation. BTW> I love spoilers, they only help me decide if I should spend my time reading the book/books in the first place.
There were some good insights and interesting principles for sure but I found the book very repetitive and hard to finish. I think if I would have tried reading the book slowly, over a longer period of time I wouldn’t have burned out as fast. Interesting stores and takes.
What God Said--or at least a communication from a source of wisdom and insight within us that is the birthright of every person.
Cast aside religious and cultural trappings, we are urged. Walsch has included solid suggestions on implementing the 25 Core Messages listed in the book.
Walsch believes that God's primary message to us is "You've got me all wrong!"
From Core Message #1--We are all One, #6--There is no Right or Wrong, #9--There is no such place as Hell, #12--Love is all there is, #17--There is no such thing as Absolute Truth, to #25--Ours is not a better way, only another way.
Finding this one a hard read... Would rather read the previous and various "Conversations with God" by this author...BUT ONCE I GOT INTO IT: WHOA! Profound, deep chocked-full of insights from what I see to be as Conversations with God. Kudos Neale Donald Walsch!!! "We stand a better chance of disappointing our own parents than we do of frustrating the expectations of a NON REQUIRING God."
Amazing!! Expanded on so much I was already thinking. Especially, loved the how-to-apply-this-today sections at the end of each chapter! Truly makes me want to read several other books in the series, but I'm going to reread this slowly now. (My first reading, I couldn't put it down, trying to limit myself to a chapter or two a day! But always wanted MORE!)
Whether you believe Walsch is talking to God or not, you know when you read these words that they are true. Read with an open mind and see how much resonates with you. Ideal for those looking to rekindle their spirituality without the burden of dogma.
I savored this thoughtful and thought-provoking book in small bites over many months. Walsch presents a new way of looking at God that works for me. Highly recommended to anyone in search of ways to live a more spiritual and more loving life.
My first encounter with CWG. Many good concertos are presented with practical applications. I'll be thinking about this one for a while. I even posted the core concepts on my cube wall at work.
