Sometimes following your ambitions means losing your heart.
When Celeste McMillan graduated from college, she hit the ground running, prepared to overcome every challenge and climb the corporate ladder at record-breaking speed. But then a client assaults her, and her boss forces her to take a ten-day “vacation” in Hawaii.
Kanoe Anakalea is intrigued when he meets the pale-skinned, redheaded haole on his favorite surfing beach. Celeste is intelligent and adventurous, sexy and sweet. Even though sun, sand and sexy surfers are as foreign to Celeste as the L.A. corporate world is to Kanoe, their sexual chemistry sizzles.
As they spend sun-warmed days and plumeria-scented nights in each other’s arms, they find themselves falling hard. Yet love is out of the question. Kanoe is rooted in his island home, and Celeste’s future beckons in L.A. As the clock ticks down, Celeste realizes that letting go might be the greatest challenge she’s ever had to face.
This book was previously released as 10 Days in Paradise by Dawn Halliday. It has been revised and re-edited.
Contains a combustible situation near a volcano; steamy scenes on beaches and in lava pools; hints of voyeurism, exhibitionism and bondage; and some very creative uses of a surfboard.
3.5 Stars - 3 Flames Are you planning on going on a vacation with some girlfriends or maybe even by yourself? Then this book is totally for you. A true vacation romance fantasy that’s easy to read and just the right amount of hotness.
A young up and coming business woman (I use “woman” loosely since she’s 21) is forced to take a vacation in Hawaii while “things” blow over at work. From the moment Celeste approaches her vacation rental, her “real” vacation begins thanks to the hunk of a specimen Kanoe helping her with her bags.
Kanoe isn’t what you would expect for a local surfer, and Celeste learns the hard way that you can’t judge a book by its cover (nor first impressions). Clearly the sexual chemistry is there between the two, but between family and work drama, can they actually enjoy each other time together? Even for the short period of time they have?
So, my thoughts? Typical girl meets boy. Boy is hot and the girl is pretty/sexy. They fall in love…and YEAH, HEA. I think the thing I liked most about this one though is that there wasn’t a Millionaire/Billionaire who comes and sweeps the girl off her feet. This was a “real” job and “real” life type of story….turned into a “real” fantasy. Didn’t understand that? Whatever. You will once you read it…LOL
Would I recommend it? As an easy reading stand alone, yes. Who knows, maybe this fantasy really could come true in real life.

Oh this one just hurts me to write it because I absolutely love Ms. Haymore. I've read and loved everything she's written. It was just boring, and I had to speed read the last half just to finish it.
Celeste is an up and coming young business woman. When one of her clients makes and advance on her, she advances on him with a slap in the face. The client is furious and threatens to take their business to another firm when Celeste's boss steps in and suggests that she takes a 2 week cooling off period. Her boss suggests that she takes a 10 day vacation to Hilo, Hawaii. Celeste is not one to fight a vacation so she sets out to Hawaii in hope of cooling off and letting everything blow over.
What Celeste does not expect is to meet Kanoe. Kanoe is a true Hawaiian that has deep roots there. When Kanoe meets the pale, red-headed woman, he knows there is something special about her. As their relationship blossoms, the sparks between them fly off the pages! Jennifer Haymore knows how to write steamy romance for sure!
Will Celeste be able to leave her job behind for Kanoe or will Kanoe be able to leave his heritage? Someone is going to have to give and you will have to read this one to find out! Lots of romance and steaminess in this one!
Received digital copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This novel was poised as erotica, however I found that it did tell a strong story. She builds up a history between the characters, and doesn’t shove them into bed the second they meet. I will say however, Jennifer does a fantastic job with the hot and heavy scenes which are splashed throughout the book. They are worth the wait I promise!
Celeste is a business woman through and through, she doesn’t let any man stand in her way. She is fresh out of college with an ambitious career ahead of her, but has to take a vacation to Hawaii. Here is where she meets to lovable Kanoe. Kanoe comes and sweeps the strong willed Celeste off her feet, as she has never been to Hawaii and is your typical tourist. One failed surfing attempt is all it takes to drag these two together, and they make one hot couple.
While yes, this is novel has some definite erotic tones, Jennifer is able to built a dynamic between Kanoe and Celeste. Kanoe while a macho surf man, has a side that is soft and vulnerable. He’s been burned before and refuses to let any woman get in his way. He battles with himself throughout the novel, it’s like his is wanting Celeste to fail.
Celeste doesn’t want to give up her job, but she finds herself quickly falling for Kanoe. What’s a girl to do? Leave the pantsuits, skyline, and high heels behind to stay on an island? Or does she go back home to a building career and many opportunities in the future?
I’m going to the dark side here, and saying hot much I loved the surfboard and lava scenes. Holy cow…WOW!
Jennifer, great job on bringing together two characters who would never meet. They created a unique story (a hot one) and I was in tears at the end. I wanted so much for their love to last, I re-read sections over and over because they were so good. I would love to see these two continue onto another book in the future, I see so much opportunity for them.
In the end I was highly satisfied with this read. It didn’t drag, it pulled the reader through the book…and let’s face it I felt like a voyeur looking in. Fabulous, hot, exhilarating read!
Never Let Me Go is a beautiful, romantic story of love between two total opposites. Superbly written, it is a gentle yet steamy romance, which really draws you into the story. I absolutely loved this book and will be checking out more stories by Jennifer Haymore.
Celeste is forced to go on a ten day vacation after she's assaulted by a client at work and responds by slapping him. Celeste is young, ambitious and a real workaholic so she really resents have to take a break from her career. When she arrives in Hawaii she meets gorgeous local man Kanoe. He loves to surf and dances the hula - but there is much more to him than his surfer boy image suggests.
There is a strong connection between Celeste and Kanoe and they are soon spending all of their time together. But Celeste is only in Hawaii for ten days, so the future looks bleak. I loved both of these characters, they are well rounded and I really felt like I knew them both. The story was told from both of the main characters point of views, so we were privy to all of their thoughts and feelings. The emotional journey that this couple go through is a pleasure to read.
I loved the Hawaiian setting of this book. I know nothing about Hawaii and the culture of the islands, but the author described it beautifully and really brought this exotic setting to life. I also liked the little snippets of Hawaiian language, it added to the atmosphere of this book.
Never Let Me Go is a beautifully written love story that gets five out of five stars. Highly recommended!

I have read a few of Jennifer's books and i loved them, this one is totally different style we are getting from Jennifer Haymore non the less its a good book.
Celeste McMillan has now graduated from college, she is preparing to overcome all and every challenge and climb the corporate ladder at a break neck speed. But then something crushing happens to her when a client assaults her. So her boss makes her to take a vacation in Hawaii.
Kanoe Anakalea is ever so intrigued when he meets the pale, red headed "haole" who so happens to be on his favourite surfing beach.
Celeste is super smart and loves adventure, and of course she is sexy and kind. Although all this is foreign to her but just as the L.A. corporate world would be to Kanoe, their sexual chemistry sizzles so bright.
know they spend there days in the sun and the nights in each others arms, they have found themselves falling hard for each other. Yet there love is out of the question or is it ?....
Kanoe is rooted deep in to his island and his home, and Celeste her future beckons bright in L.A. Know they both have some decisions to make.
Will Celeste and Kanoe love be strong enough to survive this?
I enjoyed this book and loved how both characters are so different but yet they work well together, and compliment one another.
Im so glad they were able to over come everything and be together.
This book is a great summer read where you can drift of in to he world of love and passion as well as some sun sea and sand.
Celeste is on the fast track, wanting to become a partner at the firm where she works. After being hit on by a client and responding by slapping him in the face, he becomes angry and threatens to take his business elsewhere. Celeste is forced to take vacation time so her boss can smooth the situation over. She ends up in Hawaii, where she meets hot surfer, Kanoe. The two realise there is a connection and serious attraction that neither wants to admit to the other, fearing it is one sided. Spending time with Kanoe makes Celeste realise she hasn’t been happy. Kanoe usually steers clear of mainlanders, but there is just something about Celeste.
I really enjoyed this book. The character development throughout was great. In the beginning the use of Hawaiiann lingo was slightly confusing but I soon picked up what was meant and came to enjoy it. The steamy scenes were hot! They weren’t rushed, they were descriptive and you could almost feel the connection whilst reading them. You are drawn into the romance in the story and not even half way through I was hoping for a certain ending for Kanoe and Celeste. An ending I got!
Whilst I was very happy with the ending, an epilogue would of been good. Just to see how they both adapted to the big changes in their lives.
Celeste is on the fast track wanting to make partner at her firm. She gets hit on by one of her top clients and returns his advances by slapping him in the face. The client becomes furious and threatens to take his business to another firm, Celeste's boss suggests she takes a 2 week vacation to let the situation cool off. Celeste flies to Hilo, Hawaii to catch her breath and do some thinking and meets gorgeous surfer Kanoe. Sparks fly! There is definitely a connection that neither one wants to admit nor can either one resist.
Loved this book! The character development was incredible. I didn't feel their story was rushed and read the book in one sitting. Had to know how it was going to end. The hawaiian lingo slowed me down a bit, but definitely gave the readers an authentic feeling. Steamy oh so steamy scenes!! What an amazing one with Kanoe's surfboard. :)
4 stars! Exotic lands and heated passion abounds in Never Let Me Go! Celeste McMillan has focus only for her job and climbing the ladder to success, but an "incident" results in an unexpected vacation. Will the heat she finds in exotic Hawaii prove to turn her "only work counts" philosophy? Jennifer Haymore brings the heat in this contemporary romance that certainly sizzles like a hot lava flow!
A lovely and sweet romance. Normally I get annoyed when the plot has the heroine give up here entire existence to live with the hero. In this case though, she was unhappy with her life and really found herself. I liked the story.
Never Let Me Go is a nice romance where an unhappy girl finds a man that makes her happy with the life she is living. When your life is not going right, you need to do something to change it like the girl in Never Let Me Go.
A unique setting (Hawaii), and some steamy but slightly unrealistic sex scenes (how did the surfboard not tip over??). I'm sure this would go out just fine in any library's mass market section, but would be best bought for an eBook lending collection.
