Ribs located! Penalty activated if you refuse. Proceed with quest? (YES) (no)

But the ribs are in the middle of a barbarian village.

Historically speaking, fireball would fix–

Charred bone. No.

Time to do this the hard way.

BoooOOOooones, trekking through barbarian lands to find dragon bones is not as fun as it sounds, they marrowly escape, yes all the bad bone puns, Niran can’t help himself, dragon ribs are big, Niran has more bones in his workshop than a collector, whole story is just mindless violence and fluff, and fireballs

The best thing about part 2? ... The cover.
I'm really sorry, but that was soooo boring.
It would have needed more of this:

Muscling open doors was a no in his book, but it was impressive to watch Devan putting his sexy muscles to use.
Fanning his face with one hand, Tan purred, “Husband, not in front of the children.”
Devan gave him a smirk like he could tell how much that display of strength had turned Tan on. As soon as they had anything approaching privacy, Tan would show him just how much.
😳💞😳

I liked the ending and I really hope that part 3 will be better.

Short and pretty much as expected. Continuing off from the apprentices getting discovered to the strategy of bonk. I did like how Devan and Tan are in their honeymoon phase. I need more chaos from the apprentices. They seem like little powerhouses.

I love this! the whimsical characters and epic scenes

Rating: 4.5🌈

Need a smile? A absolutely feel happy to the , well , bones , reading experience? Look no further than A. J. Sherwood’s latest serialized book, How I Took the King on a Bone-a-Fide Quest of Piracy, Piemu and Profit : Bone 2 (How I Stole the Princess's White Knight and Turned him to Villainy.

Now on chapter 8, the epic adventure is really about to start, especially since Tan, his necromancer brother Niran, and Devan, have accepted that their tiny charges, the powerful budding sorcerers-in-training, Lesia and Zi Rui, are coming with them.

That together, with a chatty sentient dragon skull, Steve, in search of his bone body. And barbarians everywhere! And it’s fabulous and funny! With fireballs.

And always over way too soon. But that’s the way of serialized fiction. It’s a quick, addictive tasty morsel that leaves you happy with the bite you had and wanting more. As this one does.

Bring on chapter 9!!!!

Love these covers.

This installment felt a bit scattered all over. Tan, Devan, and Niran set out to find the missing bones of the sentient dragon skull Steve, along with their uncovered stowaway apprentices, Lesia and Zi Rui. First they find Steve's hoard, then fight off a group of barbarians. Quickly after, they locate one of Steve's bones, his ribcage to be exact, being used as the roof of a shrine in a nearby village. In between we're treated to some truly awful puns from Niran, some flirty moments between Tan and Devan, and some... awkward parenting scenes with the children.

My problem was that the adventurers are awfully quick to rush in and destroy the barbarian shrine. these adventurers are the ones who are acting like barbarians in doing so. Granted they're not killing barbarians, but... still. If the barbarians did this to the kingdom peoples, how would things feel? There appears to be no remorse for their actions and makes me dislike them. It's an uncomfortable thought, a lot of colonial attitudes to process here.

2.5 stars.

Four more days to the next episode Bone 3, Sob!

I love everything about this except that I have to wait 4 more days for the release of the next episode. Then there are three more episodes after it. That’s a further six weeks, always supposing they are released as planned. I want them now! Give me! Give me! This is sooo good.
Seriously - it is good. It’s just the wait for each release that’s trying.
Still not sorry I didn’t wait for the whole thing to be published before starting however, so the torture is all my own fault. lol!
Bring on Saturday and Bone 3.

Still amusing

I am enjoying these more than the novellas. Tan is adorably bonkers, Devan pretends to be the long suffering sane one but is equally inclined towards bonking, the kids are starting to take after Tan, plus we get Niran along for more comedy on this adventure. I usually loathe anything short because I read too fast to be happy with what amounts to a 15-20 minute read. But I've let a few of these build up to read together so I can immerse myself in the zany longer.

I have loved A.J. Sherwood for a while now, but I'm getting increasingly bothered by the callous slaughter of people in the recent books, including this one and Dealing with Mapinguari and Dogged Engineers. Treating the "barbarians" as less than human is already squicky; having the characters launch an attack unprovoked and making it so lethal... it's just not necessary when the characters have magic! Give your characters a big stun spell or portal the attackers a mile away or a big magnet that captures all the lethal weapons or...

Going to leave this series for a while.

So many bones!

I just absolutely love returning to Devan and Tan’s world and their wacky adventures. This is a pure crack installment to their latest quest where they are looking for Steve the dragon’s bones while thoroughly corrupting Tan’s two apprentices. The following was my favorite quote from the book:

It was probably a bad sign for the quest if the voice of reason was a talking skull.

Fireballs and Barbarians

This book finds Devon and Tan in the barbarians land, off course the kids aka apprentices are smuggled along by Niran (Tan’s brother). They find Steve’s rib cage, which they store at Niran’s castle with him being a necromancer, he’s best to put Steve back together. Niran realises he has Steve’s tail too, so one less bone to find. Devon and Tan do see a creepy skeleton at Niran’s.

Good second part. It's always a pleasure to read about Tan, Devan and the others. However this book was more... Let's say, relaxed? Than the others.
There is still humour and shenanigans obviously, but the fact is these series is half the length of the original (50 pages instead of 90) and that leaves me feeling the books too short.
I will wait for boon 3 and 4 to be out before reading them and I'll have around 100 pages long story to read XD

Let the questing begin!

The adventure starts off in barbarian lands and overall gets off to a fairly good start! It was fun having them go deeper into barbarian territory as in the first arc of this serial they only ever stayed on the very edges and borders, not really going in, so we didn't get to see much of this neighbouring nation. Between that and the amusement of the necromantic issues as well as apprentice issues it was a fun read with a good start to the quest!

This is another arc to the overall Villainy series. The serial is just as funny and ridiculous as the first story. Tan and Devan have another adventure and Tan's apprentices just add to the overall enjoyment. Not to mention a dragon skull named Steve. What more can you want from a set of serial stories? I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

How I T the K on a B-A-F Q of P, P and P: Bone 2

As ever 5* , now I just have to wait 13 days for :Bone 3.
And as always just as much fun. Laugh out loud in places as Steve grows (pun definitely intended) so does my affection for him.
I can’t wait to see Fa’s reaction though when she hears they went on a quest without her (evil snigger on my part)!

We are on a Bone Hunt!

I love that Niran turned Serenity into a skelemaid. Tan is right, she deserves an eternal life of servitude as a minion of a Necromancer.

I have mixed feelings about Zi Rui, on the one hand I love her affinity with skelebabies on the other hand I don't want her to go with Niran. We'll see how that plays out.

Bone puns. Devan is once again forced to be the responsible one, Tan and Niran are the magical superpowers (mostly) keeping everyone safe, Steve is just excited to get more bones back, and the apprentices are all about the fireball. This is another wonderful entry in this latest season of AJ Sherwood's cracky fun serial. I am eagerly awaiting the next installment.

Okay

A big bone has been located in the weirdest position ever. It's up to Tan and Devan's crew to device a questionable plan to retrieve it.

I'm always up for more Tan adventures. However, I didn't enjoy this as much as I did the previous one because it didn't feel as interesting. Maybe it's a me thing, I think I'll wait till the series is done before I read it again

Tan & Devan

Fantastic! I could read these stories forever and never be bored. Their quest brings them to the Barbarian lands in search of Steve’s bones and hoard. The hoard found, which turned out to be the mother load, they find part of Steve and get to bonk barbarians. Overall a successful trip so far. Can’t wait for more!!!

Liked the book but did not love it. I think the introduction of the second apprentice caught me off guard in a negative way because, at least with the first one, I had some good story behind him. It's still an ok read, but I liked the first part of the series best. Onto my next adventure, Happy Readings!!!!

Loving these guys. A great inclusion of the apprentices and Niran. Love that Zi Rui wants to be a Necromancer and therefore hangs onto Nirans every word and Tans reaction to that is priceless. A little friendly brotherly competition.

Going on an adventure!

I absolutely loved it! How much mischief can Tan, Niran, and the apprentices get into under Devan’s supervision? Turns out quite a lot. And fireball solves a lot of problems. Honestly! What do barbarians need with a dragon rib cage anyway.

Love Niran and Tan's relationship, love the addition of the apprentices, love Devan just being so done with it all, but needing to continue because....well, shinies.

It's funny, so very funny, and highly entertaining.

I recommend and am definitely continuing onward!

Rib tickling

Hoard located, the quest continues now to find the bones. Unfortunately they're in the centre of a barbarian village. The jokes keep coming and if Tan has his way, so will Devan

Everything makes me happy when I read this, the dialogue, Tan and Devan, Niran, the apprentices, even Steve.

Of course, I'm continuing on. Can't wait for more adventures! ❤️

Love this series😍😍

This is such a brilliant series and this book is no exception. Steve the Dragon is such a brilliant and hilarious character and as for that little twist about Serenity, well I certainly didn't see THAT coming. A must read in my opinion.

A fun continuation of the first part, where Tan, Devan and Niran sets out to find the dragon skull Steve’s missing bones. We also have a couple stowaways in the form of Zi Rui and Lesia. I just love them all so much.

So far I'm loving being back with the crew but I do wish each installment was closer to the 90 page length that the first half of the series was rather than the 50-ish pages were getting now. Even for short interconnected novellas, it just doesn't feel like enough to build out a good plot/storyline
