Never piss off a woman who knows how to use a tire iron ….

Jordan

Boxer-turned-artist, who has a thing for fast cars manages to fuck up everything he touches, case in point the very reason he finds himself at the beginning of his quest, with a borrowed busted up ’67 fastback Mustang. But maybe this will work to his advantage, what better place for this mess to happen than in the city with the best body specialist in the area...

Sass

Sass can’t believe the mess she finds herself in, how could she have smashed the wrong car?!? It was supposed to be the no-good-two-timing-douchebag-friends-with-benefit partner Carlos, but nooo, it happens to belong to the blondie-hottie-City-boy… She can’t confess now, then everyone will know about her and the good for nothing Carlos… all she has to do is keep her distance from Jordan, fix his car and get him the hell out of her town, no one has to ever find out right!?! Can guilt make your horny??? because just being around him makes her want to jump up and take him for a ride.

They keep their own agenda’s to themselves and stay away from each other but there is no denying the pull between them. Agreeing to a strictly wam-bam-thank-you relationship, they never really fully enjoy their time together, sure the sex is the best they’ve had, but those few times when they do get of just sit and talk just makes them feel even worse for keeping their secrets.

Mustang Sassy was a fun-car-wreck to read, with many casualties as multiple cars were hurt during this book. It started off with a bang, literally, but then things slowed down a bit after, getting caught up in the guilt and lies that drew them together in the first place. Sassy was a girl who was blind to her appeal, simply happy to be the brains behind the car and Jordan wanted nothing more than to prove to his family wrong. But together they showed each other just how they are perfect they are, at least for each other. As much as they both enjoy living life in the fast lane, sometimes taking a slow steady ride is just as pleasurable.

2.5* out of 5*

Just as she is beginning to let her guard down, she catches yet another boyfriend cheating on her. Well, this time she will be sure to get her revenge, one that involves an iron bar and a certain car. She goes bat crazy on her ex’s car, only to have it sink in the next day what she’s done and that she could possibly go to jail for her behavior. The chance of that i actually pretty big, seeing how she has vandalized the wrong car!

How does she know? Perhaps it’s seeing her ex’s car at work in perfect condition. And the real victim happening to walk in next to said ex. Victim’s name: Jordan Carlyle, one of their rivals, but he introduces himself as Jordan Michaels, as he is undercover using his vandalized car to spy at their shop.

Jordan makes Sass nervous and the guilt lays heavy on her heart. She should have maintained her distance from him but somehow they always end up together. Eventually she decides to fix his car free of charge, but she lets him think he will be paying. That was a compromise for her cowardice in not telling him the truth. Oh! and another thing she tells him is that the ex will be the one doing the fixing, while she will actually be doing all the work.

Jordan begins to feel guilty as well, as he starts to develop feelings for Sass. But he can’t risk telling her the truth, he is in too deep already and he desperately wants to prove to his family that he isn’t a failure.

The majority of the story has the both of them dancing around the truth, and it probably felt longer than it actually was. But it drove me crazy and as a result I got bored, not a good sign. Also I didn’t feel the chemistry, I think it had to do with me not being able to see them as a couple, and not liking Jordan, who came off just too selfish. In my opinion his behavior would only get him deeper in trouble with his family and certainly when the truth would come out with Sass. The saying “what goes around comes around” came to mind here.

Not that I know much about cars, but what stood out for me were the few moments where their enthusiasm showed, for example, when they were discussing building cars and pouring over Jordan’s sketches. Also their visits to Milli (Sass’ old English Lit teacher) were funny and were moments I enjoyed. The story’s start and other moments now and again showed promise as to how the book could have been like all round. But looking back at the whole tale, I’m sorry to say that it just didn’t live up to my expectations. Pity, as the concept of the story was pretty interesting.

Posted on What I'm Reading

So, last night I finished Mustang Sassy by Daire St. Denis. First off, the first thought that popped in my head was the first line of Mustang Sally. Of course, I had to change it to Mustang Sassy. Anyway, I should proceed with my thoughts.

I wanted to read Mustang Sassy, because the blurb sounded kind of funny. I mean Sassy catches her boyfriend with his hands all up on another girl and she just loses it. Next thing you know she's go through the motions of taking it out on the dude's car. Of course, you have to think of the Carrie Underwood song Before He Cheats. Sassy comes to find out she damage the wrong car. Whoops. What are the odds of having the exact same model and almost same shade of blue in the same area? Nearly impossible. However, strange things do happen. For example, I had one gate guard ask me if I had just got my Civic? I guess my car looked just like the one he sold. Highly unlikely, but not unheard of.

Anyway, Jordan Carlyle wanted to know what Hogan's Restoration and Body Shop had over Carlyle Classic's. So, he figure he would find out who does the best work and basically take them away from Hogan's. Yeah, a bit underhanded, but it's all about survival. So, Jordan gives a fake name and the story goes from there.

Honestly, I thought it was a cute read. I mean you have Sassy who feels kind of guilty on what she has done, but doesn't want to fess up. Jordan who is viewed as the family screw up and doesn't want to come completely clean on why he's there to both parties. Both of them had plenty of opportunity to come clean, but neither of them do. There relationship is a bit interesting too. Where you have Sassy who has a fear of relationships and a lot has to stem from family life. She doesn't want to get to attach to anyone for fear of them leaving her. In a way it's a logical thought and more is reveal on why she feels this way. Even though Jordan is a bit dishonest, he's willing to stick it out and fight for Sassy while past guys never did.

Seriously, Mustang Sassy is a fun cute read. It would be brain candy, something light and fluffy and not overly-taxing. So, if you are looking for something that's not going to stress you out, you might want to give Mustang Sassy a go.

I have just finished this book, and I have to say I loved it!! :D I also read it in one sitting.

As soon as I started I couldn't put it down!

This book is a dual narrative from both Sassy and Jordan :D which was great seeing your two favorite characters from someone else's pov.

Sassy is well, SASSY! She is strong, confident and caring. But unfortunately she doesn't have a good track record with men. This is established from the very beginning when she catches Carlos (her boyfriend) groping some other girl on the dance floor and playing tonsil tennis. So what does she do? She runs never letting him know she's there, until she saw his car and then her crow bar, well lets just say she beat the shit out of it, in anger. :P Go girl!, go!! (I was cheering like a madwoman haha).

Anyway, this is when she meets Jordan, Tall, and broad shouldered, blonde God!!!! Omg, he was an amazing character!!! He's a talented artist, talented in the bedroom (you know ladies!!! There are some hot, hot, hot sex scenes) *Shivers* Not only is he all of those things, he's the owner of the car she destroyed... He just doesn't know it's her. (Talk about revenge backfiring, and slapping you in the face!)

Sassy and Jordan's chemistry burned through the pages. Only problem is poor Sassy has is scared of getting hurt again and making what they have (crazy, hot, monkey sex!!) into anything more...

But the real question is can Jordan break down her walls, and show her what love really is? Awwwwwww, I guess you'll have to read and find out!!! :D

This book has:
Independent, kick ass female with a love of cars
HOT, sexy man, with a need for said female
Passion for cars (don't worry!! I know nothing about cars so you'll get it!)
Lies (but will they break what they've made?)
Deceit
Love
A page turning plot!

So, get reading!!! :D

Mustang Sassy is a book about deceit, misunderstandings, revelation and reconciliation. I would say it's an emotional read as we follow Sass and Jordan's roller-coaster journey through tough times.

What caught my attention about this book was its title. Mustang Sassy just has a nice ring to it and then when I read the blurb, I thought it would be an interesting read with all that wrecking the wrong car thing after witnessing her boyfriend with another girl and how to get out of the sticky situation. The beginning chapter focuses on Sass and her messed up thoughts the moment she saw her boyfriend with another girl and she just lost it. This girl needs some anger management problem! She only realized that she got the wrong car back at the workshop and that the car she smashed belonged to this hot guy Jordan Michael. Despite knowing that fact, Sassy wasn't able to confess about her wrong doings and that dragged on, followed by some misunderstandings. What's the deceit about? You'll have to find out by reading the book.

I couldn't really relate to Sass at the start of the book with all her irrational thoughts and that one major anger outburst but it was still amusing to read about her. As the story progresses, I slowly get to know more about her and understand what made her this way. The deceit and misunderstandings left me frustrated and annoyed at times but it resolved pretty well in the end with a twist that slapped the truth across both characters' faces. Love how Sass learnt the truth about her past and how it propelled her forward and how sweet Jordan was. Overall still an enjoyable read! The chemistry between Sass and Jordan is definitely sizzling!

well first thing's first... good job with the book cover, it's an eye-catcher.
This could be considered on of those "star-crossed" lover kind of book, but the characters aren't aware of it. Well Jordan's aware, but he still doesn't know the whole story that's going on.

I'm glad that Sassy knows how to stand up for herself when she's being used. I like her revenge-drive... Just too bad that luck was not on her side :P

It was interesting to see how Sassy and Jordan try to maneuver around each other because they just have so much that their hiding from one another.

Review....Mustang Sassy

The title and cover photo caught my eye first. Yeah, I know you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but I often do. I'm hopeless that way.

We meet Sassy Hodges at a bar where she discovers her boyfriend cheating on her. So angry and hurt, she goes into the parking lot and totally destroys his classic mustang. Returning to her job at her father's classic car restoration shop the next morning Sassy discovers she has a huge problem. She's destroyed the wrong car. Oh. Shit.

Jordan Michaels saunters into town on the premise of being on vacation and is waylaid when his car is vandalized. He's actually there to try and recruit Hogan's restoration export to work for his family business, Carlyle's Classics.

This story starts off with two huge lies. Jordan doesn’t know that Sassy is the one who actually destroyed his car and Sassy thinks Jordan is just a poor guy in the wrong place at the wrong time. These two have an immediate spark for each other which I found believable. It started with just a look at each other. You know the "hot damn, that one is hot, let's get to know each other or make out like crazy" look. Sassy's problem, even though she finds Jordan extremely sexy, is her guilt for what she did to his car and knowing he's only in town until the car is finished. We are led to believe by the author that this stems from an earlier, hurtful relationship but later on we learn that Sassy has always had these issues with men. Never understood why, her father raised her after her mother passed away.

I both liked and wanted to slap Sassy at the same time. She's a 23 year old and still thinks like one. Her "sassiness" often came across as an immature bitch rather than a woman who is standing up for herself. Her redeeming quality was her love for Millicent, an old family friend and former teacher, who is in a nursing home. I think I will like Sassy in about ten years, when she's older and her sassiness grows from immature bitch to a woman standing up for herself in a man's world of car restoration.

Jordan made this book really enjoyable for me. He was sexy, knew what he wanted and went after it without all the alpha male crap. He too had his hang ups, his guilt for lying to Sassy, his feelings of unworthiness in the eyes of his family due to all of his former screw ups. He was so sweet and sexy. He had just the right level of aggressiveness during sex, the kind that has you wanting more and more without rolling your eyes and thinking, "Really. Who does this kind of shit?”

There were some bumps along the way. Sassy discovers some things about her past. Jordan comes clean about his true intentions. Sassy gets pissed because he's been lying to her the entire time. WTF? Did she forget about the crow bar she used to beat his car to hell and back?

I struggled with the rating for this book. And not because it wasn't good. There were a few editing issues that drove me crazy and Sassy needed a good kick in the ass. But, I did enjoy the story. It was well written and the sex was wonderful and smokin' sexy. So just because there were some things that totally irritated me, I gave it a 3.75. I will read more by this author because really did like the way she writes.

Mustang Sassy
By Daire St. Denis

Sass Hogan is hell on wheels… She works at her father’s vintage auto restoration shop and she doesn’t take anything from anybody. When Sass decides to stop by the local bar for her birthday she sees her so called boyfriend dancing with Tori “Double-D-Cup” Hunter - she loses her mind and all of her senses. She does the only thing she can think of to get even with him. She takes a tire iron to his beloved 1967 Mustang Fastback. The revenge is fleeting and bitter sweet – especially when she realizes it wasn’t her boyfriend’s car she totaled – the vehicle belongs to tall, blonde and handsome stranger Jordan Michael. Facing up to her mistake proves harder for her than she would like but making it right is her only mission. Good thing she is on of the top vintage car restorers out there. In a twist of fate, it turns out that Jordan Michaels has a story of his own. He is in town for one reason and one reason only. To scope out the competition at the local auto restoration shop and steal their lead restorer. But why – and who exactly is Jordan Michaels? Little did they both know that with one fatal blow of the tire iron – their lives would be forever intertwined!
Sass Hogan is the epitome of tom-boy. She knows her cars, she likes to drive fast and she knows what she likes. A short list of men that have hurt her has led her to a few simple rules. No dates and no sleepovers. Seems like simple rules to follow. But Jordan Michael’s is making it hard for her to follow them – making it hard for her to concentrate even. Sass becomes beyond frustrated in every sense of the word and her frustration flows from the page – gripping you – the reader. I fell for the character of Sass within the first few pages – she is feisty and sassy and everything in between. She is strong willed and in self protection mode. And exactly the way she wants and needs to be. Or so she thinks.
Jordan Michael’s has a secret – he isn’t who he claims to be. And he is in town on his own agenda. But some maniac took a tires iron to his car and he must now stay in town and wait while it gets fixed. Jordan doesn’t seem to mind – this all gives him more of an opportunity to stakeout the competition, Sass’ fathers’ restoration shop. Jordan is complex and compassionate. And the scenes with him and Sass at the cabin are some of my favorite.

The sub characters of Sass’ friends - Libby and Millie are just as wonderful. I wish we would have found out more about Libby and her life and what became of Millie.

The story has a hint of “Taming of the Shrew” tendencies and also hints at it in the story. I found this a highlight of the story that only added to the intricacies. The story line was quick moving and never once did I falter reading it. I read it all in one sitting and wished that there was more to the story and that it hadn’t ended at all. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

This book gave me all the feels! Laughter, love, lust and even some tears. The characters were well-built and the storyline was very real.
The main female character is Sassy and yup, that is her real name. Cool right? She steps into the local bar one evening and finds her boyfriend snuggled up to some other woman. Of course, she sees red and sets on a mission to sabotage him. She takes a tire iron to his precious mustang. Smashes it to pieces and actually feels quite an accomplishment. Until she goes to work the next morning at Hogan’s and the poor soul whose car she smashed shows up to get it fixed. It is then that she realizes, she hit the wrong car!!!
Now Jordan is known as the black sheep of his family. Always screwing up and he feels like he will never live down that he set his families shop on fire. His real love is drawing. He is on a mission to gain back his father’s approval, so when his car is smashed to bits, it makes it even easier to hit the competitor and find out what they truly can do. Under a guise of someone else of course!
These two are equally f’d up. Sassy has never lived down the fact that her mother left her as a small child and it seems that every time she falls for a guy, they always end up leaving. So she has made up her mind….she will not fall in love and no sleepovers. They are too intimate. Sex only! Jordan has had girlfriends in the past, the last one turned into a crazy stalker. The last thing he is looking for is a relationship but one look at Sassy and his heart starts doing crazy things. He needs to calm it down so that he can complete his real mission.
I really enjoyed this storyline and the characters felt very real. Their circumstances were sad and it was great reading about these too lonely souls that maybe could find love in each other. That was not such an easy task.
I loved getting the perspective from each of them with dueling POVs. At one point, they both were thinking that the other knew their secret. It was actually a little comical at times. The sex was intense and there was plenty of it!
I did really enjoy this book and thought the ending was really sweet. There were some points though that I felt that the story got drug out a bit but for me it just showed how much change Sassy had to go through to realize what she wanted and some things about her past.
Thanks to Entangled for allowing me to review this book!

Sass catches her boyfriend cheating and in a moment of rage she destroys his car. What she doesn't realize until it is to late is that it isn't his car but a strangers. Jordan doesn't know what has happened to his car but he has to get it fixed. He wants the auto body place Sass's dad runs to be the one to fix it. H doesn't know who or why his car was destroyed but it has to be fixed. He has another motive and that is to check out the shop and maybe steal some talent for his family business Carlyle's Classics. He has let his family down and thinks this may be his way back in the good graces. Sass and Jordan grow close and things heat up between them but they both have secrets that will destroy any chance they had.

Sass is an amazing woman who loves cars and loves working on them. She is great at what she does and it is her life. She has a few friends and her father who she loves. She is a very caring person as you see when she works with people who need some company. The one thing that scares her most is falling in love. She has been burned a few times and is scared to take a big step into a relationship. Jordan has disappointing his family and is looking for a way to prove to them he isn't a loser. He is very talented but his family just hasn't seen that yet. He is sexy and smart even if he slips up and does dumb stuff sometimes it makes him that much more real to me.

The title alone made me want to read this book and then when I read the blurb I was hooked. I loved Sass from the start as she is a woman who loves to work with cars. I do to so instant bond. She doesn't take well to being cheated on and I don't blame her. She acts out in a way that will take a man with a classic car to his knees. Jordan takes it in pretty good that his car has been destroyed. Even if the two start off with lies and secrets they quickly see they have something between them that can't be stopped. Sass will have you laughing as she tries to do a few things to keep from wanting Jordan so bad. They both even when they are hiding stuff actually help the other. They bring out the best in each other and show help each others talents. There is plenty of hotness in this book but there is also letting go and seeing no one is perfect. Both Sass and Jordan have a lot to work through and I loved reading about them. This book has a little bit of it all to keep you entertained.

So what do you do when you find your boyfriend playing tonsil hockey with another woman? You go all Carrie Underwood on him and take a tire iron to his car, right?! And come on, can anyone tell me they haven’t wanted to do the same thing? Yeah, I thought so! Go Sassy…oops, guess you should have made sure you were destroying the right car!

What a fun read this book was – filled with classic cars, a sassy mechanic, and a sexy man. This story had lots of heat and angst and was wrapped around a romance that had more obstacles than the final course in that TV show “Wipeout”. Sassy was one feisty character, but she carries some pretty deep emotional scars that she hides well by living fast and keeping her distance from any real emotional attachments. When she meets Jordan there is an instant connection that happens between them, but since Jordan is hiding who he really is and Sassy is afraid to come clean about being the one to destroy his car, their relationship is one that has lots of ups and downs…and not just between the sheets!

Jordan is also carrying some emotional baggage, but I loved how sweet he was with Sassy, especially how he never seemed to tire of grabbing his sketch pad and pencil to draw her all the time! It was so nice to see both Sassy and Jordan come to terms with their issues and realize the depth of their feelings towards one another. And the heat between the two was certainly off the charts! Once their families got involved, all bets were off as to what was going to happen and how things would end up.

The supporting cast of characters, including Sassy’s father Buck, her best friend Libby, and the guys at the garage, all added additional depth and really helped tell Sassy’s story. Seeing Sassy interact with all of the other characters really helped put in perspective all that Sassy has had to deal with in her life and how she was choosing to handle it. I especially loved Libby helping Sassy out by providing her with some samples from her sex toy business – too funny!

I really enjoyed reading about Sassy & Jordan – this story was lots of fun and kept me turning the pages!

I was given an eARC of this book from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Review:

I just became a fan of this new-to-me Author!

What a great story! I am not sure what I expected from the description of the book, but what I read was a fun, sexy, and an emotional story.

There are so many layers to Sass and Hogan. Sass Hogan is a top-notch mechanic and car restorer, whose mother died when she was a small child and has been raised in the shop that her father owns. I like that Sass is impetuous and you feel like she lays it all out there, but she is holding back and protecting herself because she feels everyone always leaves her. Jordan "Michaels" feels and seems to be treated as the little brother, he is a beautiful artist and a car designing artist, but he stifles those talents away to be what his family wants and needs. Trying to prove himself, he gets accidentally caught up in Sass's impetuousness when she takes out her anger on his car instead of someone else's by accident. This sends these two on a whirl-win love affair, but they are both keeping secrets and hiding part of their emotions away from each other.

I was pleasantly surprised by how emotional this book is, especially in the later half of book when secrets are revealed from not just Jordan and Sass, but others around them. I cried when Sass was hurting and learning the truth about Jordan and her mother.

I loved the chemistry between Jordan and Sass, it was believable and Hot! And the intimate scenes were scorchers!

I great read and I cannot wait to read more from this Author!!!

3 stars - A tangle of lies that weaves through some pretty sexy scenes

First Impressions...

I haven't read this author before but I liked the idea of a feisty girl taking her revenge on her cheating boyfriends car only to find out she'd hit the wrong one. In my mind, I pictured him finding her beating his car to bits. That's not what happened.

The Characters...

I'm a very character driven reader. I need to like, feel connected to, or at least understand the characters. I felt that with Jordan. He's the youngest and trying to prove to his family that he's not a mess up. He comes to town to figure out what makes Hogan auto body shop so special, being a little secretive about who he really is. But he's a lot of things that I liked. He's an artist. He's a boxer. He shows restraint. He's sexy. He's an incredible lover. I really liked him.

Sass, not so much. She's had some cheating boyfriends and has some serious issues because of it. For one, she took a tire iron to a guys car. But the truth is that I didn't like her. I found her snotty, moody and difficult. I got that she had some bad things happen in her past with her mom and boyfriends. But she's just too hostile and harsh for me. And considering she doesn't like lying, she's doing more than anyone.

The Story...

The story is a tangle of lies. I'm not big on lying plots. You know it's going to all come out in the end and it's only a matter of time before people find out the truth. Both of them were hiding things. Some worse than others. In the mean time, they fell for each other. Jordan was willing to admit that sooner that Sass but he brought her along kicking and screaming.

What didn't work for me...

Sass, the amount of lying and the sex toys that Libby sells.

In The End...

It took me a long time to finish this one. I kept putting it down. I think readers who really like the angry, strong female characters will like this one. The heat is high and the guy is yummy, so anyone who likes that will probably enjoy it too.

Loved it, loved it loved it!! This was surprisingly a one sitting book, over 350 pages of romance excellence without one paranormal element at all!! There are certain publishers that I will review for because they represent authors I follow, and sometimes, well let's just say the fare is less than palatable. I will do a polite three star, "I got through it without injuring myself" review or I'll email them and say I can do a promo but my review will NOT be flattering. I really expected this to be a politely worded "UGH" review. Well paddle my behind and call me Jethro, this booked rocked the house!

First off, Sassy, OMG, I luuuuurved her!! An expert car mechanic, this girl grew up with a father who preferred to be called Buck, rather than Dad. She had virtually no female influences since the age of six, and her father, let's just say I wanted to hurt him, sympathetic single father or not. IMHO, one word ...... ASSSSSSSS!! He gave Sassy a roof and a job and that was pretty much the extent of his involvement. I would really like to rip into him a lot more, but that would involve spoilers. For such a crappy upbringing, she was remarkably stable. Weeeeell, except for the tee tiny anger problem, which lands her into trouble in the first place. Just think Carrie Underwood....... *snort*

Jordan was just phenomenal! As much of an anti-hero as I have ever encountered, he was a walking, talking screw up of a man. Luckily, he was just pretty enough that he could get by with it. He is trying to recover from one mistake when he steps right into the pile again. The characterization is just one of the outstanding elements in this book. Mustang Sassy is also a truly hot love story. I would have enjoyed it without the spice, but hey, the overt sexiness didn't hurt. Case in point the whole butterfly in the pants incident * incendiary*.
This was , to me, just an absolute PRIME example of what a contemporary romance should be. Engaging, evolving, sexy and memorable. Just a true joy of a read! Brava and extremely well done.

"I'm scared too, you know. I think love is supposed to be scary. Kind of like driving fast."
"When you drive fast, so fast you're on the verge of losing control," Jordan kept talking and kissing. "There's nothing like it..."
"It's exhilarating-- "
"Yet dangerous."
"That's love, Sass"
"Is that how you feel?"
"You better believe it." Jordan said.

"Dammit Sass," Jordan whispered. "I suspect loving you will be the best ride of my life."

I had to fight with this book to keep my attention. Sassy rebuilt cars in a shop owned by her father so there was a lot of mechanic talk that I didn't get. I'm guessing Sass would be the dream girl of a guy that loved cars cause she did as well. She's very spunky and doesn't take crap from nobody. Yet it still didn't keep my attention, I can't really put my finger on it. For one thing, I think the book is too long. I also liked Jordan's character better than Sass; he was on a mission. He had to impress his family and make them believe that he wasn't a screw up. I feel like Jordan's character was more well rounded and more believable. So much happened to Sass and if I were her, I would have freaked out in a very bad way and then had a nervous breakdown, so the fact that she didn't wasn't working for me and I didn't get how she could be semi-fine with everything. She wasn't a character I could have related to, not her job or her personality.

My favorite parts of this book were the cover and the ending. Which turns out that Jordan is pretty sweet, I got a gleam of that the first time Sass and him were together where he wanted her to spend the night to actually be with her but all she wanted was a 'wam-bam, thank you ma'am' sort of deal.

I do however recommend this book to those of you out there that like antique cars or that know anything about cars. Jordan sketches cars and in one he describes it as the sketch that is based on the past, present, and the future. So Jordan is also an artist, so those who like art might enjoy this as well.

Sassy is right! What a perfect name for well...Sassy the girl has lady balls, is smart, good looking and well her thoughts are to die for, "you look good, like you got a date or something." No Way. It took every grain of self-restraint to keep from slapping him. He was accusing her of being with someone else? Of all the dirty-rotten-rat-bast**d things to say." So sometimes first impressions are hilarious, and well Jordan and Sassy's took the cake:
"Fine. There's only one problem," Jordan said eyeing her lovely backside.
"What's that?"
"That skirt you're wearing? When you bend over it doesn't really cover everything."
And Sassy brings out the horniess in Jordan, "he rose to follow her, his stomach rumbling until his gaze focused on the sway of her hips and the way her suit clung to her finely toned body and his hunger for food was forgotten, replaced by another, unexpected, hunger." He gives the best compliments, "he took her hands again and spread her arms, pinning her while he nuzzled her neck. "Why do you have to be the sexiest goddamned woman I've ever met," he murmured." Sometimes Sassy talks to herself in her mind, it's like woman has split personalities, which isn't bad just entertaining, "what the hell was Jordan doing here? Showering, half-naked? Looking hot and available and comfortable and like he belonged." When these two are together it's like they're competing for a damned sex marathon, "Jordan grabbed her hand and through clenched teeth, "Not that. Though, it's not a bad idea." He grinned and kissed her. "I need to show you something else." I love my smart, witty, books that has that little bit of naughtiness and this book definitely had it and i hope to see some of Sassy's friends get their own stories.

You just never know what you are getting into when you request an ARC for a "new to you" author. In this particular case, I truly lucked out because I am now a full-fledged Dare St. Denis fan. Her writing is flawless and Mustang Sassy is the perfect combination of plot, emotion, action and of course, steamy romance.

Twenty-three-year-old Sass Hogan definitely needs an anger management class or some therapy. After seeing her boyfriend Carlos getting down and dirty on the dance floor with another woman, Sass goes ballistic and takes a tire iron to his vintage Mustang and practically destroys it. The following day she finds out that the car she wrecked belongs to Jordan Michaels, a man who is passing through town, not Carlos.

As luck would have it, Sass just happens to be the best auto body technician in town. Sass grew up watching her father Buck and his staff convert vintage or classic clunkers into works of art. Hogan's Restoration & Body Shop is well known for their outstanding workmanship. So Jordan's Mustang ends up at Hogan's to be repaired.

Jordan Michaels is not who he claims to be. He actually works for Hogan's competition and is in town on a mission to prove to his family that he is not a failure. His damaged car ends up being a blessing in disguise.

I really enjoyed this book. Sass and Jordan are extremely likeable, have great chemistry and challenge each other in the most unique ways. I immediately connected to them as individuals and as a couple. Their sex scenes are passionate and hot. Libby, Sass's best friend is a riot and some of her dialogue made me laugh out loud. This is a brilliant book, complete with great characters, a plot that twists and turns in all the right places, and an imaginative love story.

ARC provided by publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I went into this book with hesitations, I'll admit it. I thought it had the potential to be hokey, cliche, and just fluff. I'm a gritty gal. I was all prepared to give my "it's not you, it's me review." I must say, though, I was pleasantly surprised.

Sass is a multidimensional character. Like most of us, she carries baggage from her past that affects her decisions in the present. She presents a hard exterior, but is really a raging fire of emotion underneath it all. I LOVED the smashing of the car! Who hasn't wanted to smash up an ex's car? Through Sass, the reader gets the chance to do so. We see so many sides of her, and so many changes she goes through in the book. It is all believable too. Never once did I find myself saying, "there's no way that would happen..."

Jordan and Carlos were interesting characters to compliment Sass. I liked how neither where exactly what they seemed, though it took time for us (the reader) to figure this out. I spent most of the book thinking Carlos was a sleaze, but then suddenly the whole script was flipped. Everything we thought we knew about Sass and Carlos came crashing down

Jordan went back and forth between sweet, sleaze, broken, comforting, deceptive, and hot. No, I take that back. He was always hot! But again, I was kept on my toes. For a good chunk of this book, I was literally waiting for things to implode. Although his motives may have been questionable in the start, I think we quickly saw he was an honorable man trying his best to please others around him.

I don't want to give away the ending, but it was perfect. It wasn't a total surprise, but it was a slow build up. Little by little, I found myself thinking, "wouldn't it be perfect if..." and then my perfect happened. :)

The title, the cover, and the synopsis captured my attention and I knew I wanted to check this book out. Sass Hogan is 23 years old and knows her way around cars better than some of the best men out there. When she catches her cheating boyfriend with another woman, she decides to take it out on his classic car, only the car wasn't his. Enter Jordan Carlyle, the son of Hogan's competition and the owner of the Mustang with the mistaken identity, using the identity of Jordan Michaels. Jordan shows up at Hogan's to have his car repaired, as if Sass wasn't already feeling guilty enough about what happened, but Jordan has his own agenda to. What neither of them planned on was the attraction between them that turned into a lot more. While their feelings are real, will the web of deception they have both weaved be more than can be repaired?

I liked Jordan's character. He was quite the hottie who despite the initial deception, was a really great guy and I really began to like him as the book progressed. I didn't care as much for Sass' character. She was okay, but I just was not won over by her character or her personality, and though I did like her better by the end of the book, I never really connected with her and found her to be a bit frustrating at times.

Despite the fact that I didn't connect with the characters on as deep a level as I would have liked, I did enjoy the story overall, and the chemistry between them was intense. This is the first book I've read by Daire St. Denis and I would certainly be interested in reading more from her in the future. Overall, I would consider this an enjoyable story, it didn't have that "wow" factor that sucks you in, but it is something that contemporary romance fans would enjoy.

This was the first time reading this author and picked it on what it was to be about. This is a "sassy" fun read and thoroughly enjoyed it immensely. Sass Hogan knows cars something I myself liked messing with as a young person ha ha. She goes out to see someone she is seeing is with someone else and temper temper that she has proceeds to attack his car a '67 mustang fastback. But uh oh later finds out was not his car but one that in the dark looked just like his but actually belonged to someone else-Jordan. Little does she know though he is there with his own agenda but now is kinda stuck there while the repairs are made to the car. This is a fast pace moving book which I like that way no lagging involved. There is humor by the bucket full when the two begin to interact with each other. Sassy and her father run a shop that Jordan is interested in one of the mechanics for their shop business and unknown also to Sassy the father is needing to sell his which she believed one day would be hers. The romance between the builds with a torched heat involved between the two but remember Sassy is not your average girl. The flow of the storyline keeps you going through the ins and outs of these two but when the poop hits the fan can Jordan come out smelling like roses? He has alot of groveling to do to get Sass to come around again most entertaining to read it is. It has been awhile I have two characters quite so entertaining and this would make for a good comedy romance movie. This author knows how to bring it all together at the end with it turning out quite satisfactory for me the reader. Received a arc for a honest review.

I loved reading this story that is essentially a modern day re-telling of "The Taming of the Shrew." It has all the same basic elements of the story, but it's set in a classic car restoration shop. The characters even acknowledge the fact in the story, except they're comparing themselves to another re-telling, which was the movie "Ten Things I Hate About You." I really enjoyed the whole thing. I loved how Sass went nuts on that car and smashed the crap out of it. Sass's instant reaction to meeting Jordan was quite interesting, that attraction that they both felt was good. But they were both keeping secrets from each other. Jordan was there to get the low-down on the place where Sass worked. Towards the end, when everything came out about who they were and what each of them had done - that scene was explosive. Everything that came after that was icing on the cake. The way they found a way to continue doing what each of them loved, but together was pretty sweet. Very innovative also, I thought. Jordan had to earn back Sass's trust and it took some time, but things worked out for the best. Daire did a great job with this story, and I would be lying if I said it wasn't good. It was bloody fantastic from the start to the finish. I loved reading about the cars and the characters. Daire made this story her own, and did a damn fine job of it.

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Okay, with a title like Mustang Sassy…I had to request!

“Took a Louisville slugger to both head lights, slashed a hole in all four tires…maybe next time he’ll think before he cheats…”

I love that song and sing it on the Karaoke at my brother’s house with my sister at Christmas…and this story is just perfect for that song to play. The book opens with Sass doing some damage on her boyfriend’s car…her ex-boyfriend in her mind now since he cheated on her with the town skank. In the morning, she discovers that not only does her ex still think he is “in there”, but the car she destroyed was some guy passing through town. And so begins the fun game of cat and mouse. Who was the mouse…mmmm, hard to say, but if pushed I would say it was Sass. Jordan is a bit of a mouse when it comes to his family but with Sass he seems to want to bring out the claws, wrap himself around her and pursue her with single minded focus. I loved how Sass continued to hid her true self while Jordan gave her the part of him that he never gave anyone.

Together, these two car family heirs made get love and built amazing metal. The most touching parts for me were when Jordan would sketch and the description of how enraptured he was by everything Sass…Broke my heart…loved it! Fun, sassy, spunky book with some nice steam and a great story. Enjoy!

This is the first book that I have read by Daire St. Denis and I absolutely loved it. I truly loved the personality of Sass and the relationship that she had with Jordan. I could not put this book down and cannot wait to read more from this author.

Sass Hogan hides here feelings from everyone. But when she caught her boyfriend in an intimate slow-dance with Tori she decides to take revenge by taking a tire iron to his ’67 Mustang that she helped him customize. That is until she finds out that it was not his car that she smashed up real good.

Jordan Michaels is a screw-up as far as his family is concerned. But he has a plan to prove to them that he can be dependable when it comes to the family business. He is really a Carlyle and his family owns Carlyle’s Classics, which is losing business to Hogan’s, and he is in town to see who the best body work mechanic is, so he can talk him into coming to work for his family. Sass smashing up his car was even better than the original plan he had. The only problem was that he did not plan to fall in love with Sass, especially a love that has been built on lies. What will Sass do when she finds out he’s been lying to her from the start?

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in place of an honest review.

Sass Hogan isn't your normal everyday woman. She has grown up with her dad working and restoring cars. She doesn't know how to be a woman and she has some issues. She knows how to pick all the bad men and the one's that never commit to her. She doesn't really know it but she is the one that sets the rules and pushes everyone away. It is because she thought her mom left her.

Jordan Michaels is a big screw up. Every time he comes up with some idea something always happens to make it go wrong. He has an idea on how to fix everything and make his family proud of him. He takes the old mustang and goes to find out about the competition and if he can get them to come and work for his family. He didn't count on his mustang getting the crap beat out of it.

I really enjoyed reading this story. I could really see where Sass was coming from. I have pushed people away in my life because I never wanted to trust and be hurt again. I liked the thoughts of a woman doing something that a man can do and making it even better. I have always wanted a mustang so I could just imagine driving the one in this book and I know how sick I would be if I found out that my mustang had been totaled by someone.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I can't wait to read more.

I received an ACR of Mustang Sassy in exchange for an honest review.
Blurb: When Sass Hogan catches her boyfriend slow-dancing and doing the tongue-tango with Tori Double-D-Cup Hunter, she pays him back the only way she knows how—by taking a tire iron to his beloved ’67 Mustang Fastback. There’s only one problem. She’s destroyed the wrong car.

Jordan Michaels wants his car fixed, now, and he wants Sass’s auto body shop to do it. But the handsome blond has a secret−he’s really Jordan Carlyle of Carlyle’s Classics, Hogan’s biggest competitor, and he’s determined to prove himself to his family.

As Sass and Jordan get to know each other, the depth of the attraction has them falling in love. But a relationship based on lies will only leave them primed for the worst wreck of their lives.

My thoughts: I liked Mustang Sassy, but it wasn’t what I was expecting. After that great opening I assume the rest of the book would follow suit, but it didn’t. Sassy was not sassy she avoided more the she confronted and Jordan, I don’t think he was a strong enough Hero.
Though I didn’t hate the book, if wasn’t an ARC I would have put it down and never picked it up again. It just didn’t hold my interest.

Mustang Sassy is a great retelling of The Taming of the Shrew, filled with great characters with wonderfully complex personalities that I fell in love with them immediately. I especially loved the way that the author seemed to love the movie 10 Things I Hate About You as much as I do, and I really think that is why I was so in love with Sassy, because of similarities to characters from that movie.

Sass Hogan has had some seriously hard knocks in life, and her dad deals some even harder blows, on the tails of her feeling betrayed by her ‘boyfriend’ cheating on her. This really is a great story where miscommunication kept the story moving along, because they both assume things, but never ask or tell so while us as readers know everything, I enjoyed watching these two interact.

Jordan Carlyle lies, but so does Sass, and together they have this amazing chemistry and when things blow up, it was very well done by the author to get them to slowly rebuild a relationship that fell apart and come together even stronger.

I highly recommend this story, it’s entertaining and kept me reading in one sitting. I will be looking for more books from this author.

I really enjoyed this book. From the title, I originally though that this was a cowboy story. Actually, it is about a custom car business, and Sassy is the one repairing cars. Jordan, is actually an artist and designer, who is a son in Carlyle's custom cars who wants to buy Hogan's custom cars. In the beginning, Sassy winds up destroying a custom car by accident that Jordan is driving, that has to go back to his family's business to be auctioned. Not knowing what happened, Jordan takes the car to Hogan's to be repaired. They get to know each other, and love ensues. In the meantime, Buck the owner of Hogan's and a longtime widower, decides to sell the business and remarry. Sassy is not happy about this. She does not bill Jordan for fixing up the car, even though he does not know why. After Sassy finds out why Jordan was actually in town, she doesn't want to see him again. He asks Buck for a second chance with Sassy, and he gives him one, by letting him work at the shop unpaid. The reconnect at an old age home, Jordan teaching the residents art, and Sassy helping as they are short staffed. They get back together, stay in town, and live happily ever after. A fun read.

I love this book! I read a ton of romance, and every once in awhile I'll read one that totally breaks the mold and hits me with a super fresh voice, and MUSTANG SASSY was exactly that book.

Sass Hogan is the perfect romance heroine. She's equal parts sweet and feisty and her interminable spirit is evident from page one. It's true what they say- hell at no fury like a woman scorned, and in this fast-paced page turner, Sass lets her temper get the best of her in a moment of passion. But hijinks ensue when the damage falls outside of her intended target, and the fun just keeps on rolling.

Jordan Carlyle is Sass's perfect match, and the chemistry between them is smoldering. I loved the added tension of both main characters hiding major secrets, and when shit finally hits the fan, there's much to lose.

Readers are going to adore Sass and Jordan together, and the book has a great sense of setting. Sass is a girl who gets things done without the help of a man, but boy- do I ever adore her with one too.

Honest review for Entangled Publishing
When Sass Hogan catches her no good cheating boyfriend with another woman she figures the best thing to do is to smash his mustang to smithereens. Unfortunately, for her, she smashed the wrong one. It belonged to Jordan Carlyle, but he introduced himself as Jordan Michaels and he wasn’t too happy that someone had the audacity to smash his vehicle, which technically, wasn’t his. Jordan and Sass mad a great couple once she came to terms with the fact that Jordan was the competition and his family wanted to buy out her family’s shop. She felt betrayed, he tried to make amends and she made him work for it. Sass was spirited, feisty and had a lot of spunk. Jordan even though he was looking for acceptance that he could do the job he could eventually handle Sass. Definitely a good story, great characters, lots of humor. Check it out you won’t be disappointed. And another great author to put on your list.

The title and reading the synopsis will have you wanting to read the book (at least for it did for me)

Yes, this is page turning read and everything but it is one of those where there is reasons love it and hate it…

Sass has some issues that I found a bit annoying at times, then add the raging emotions caused her to ruin a Mustang (I cringed when read that part I helped restored 69 and 72 Mustang…) as well as the deceit of the reason of why Jordan is town… This two have some truth telling that they both need to do …

The alternating POVs gives the story a well rounded overview. The author is new to me and I must say I will look at other by her.

Overall the was an ok good read, that I can honestly say is 4 stars. I was given the book for an honest review, Thank you.
