Body Rock #2

Slow Body Rock

Rate this book
From USA Today Bestselling Author Nora Flite He knew he was addicted: I thought it'd be smoking that killed me. Lola is more addictive than tobacco could hope to be. After feeling her warm body, touching her skin... even if it was an accident, I've given up. The monster inside of me is going to consume her. I'm too tired to fight it. And I honestly don't want to. She knew it was risking everything: Why is he trying to mess up my ONE opportunity at success? My very god damn existence? I can't handle this pull between us... a gravity that wants to knot our bodies together and leave me merged. Ruined. I thought Drezden cared about his band, that he wouldn't dare do anything that might break them-- and me-- apart. When did I become the one thing worth losing it all over?

ARC provided by Author for an honest review.

4.5 - 5 ROCK OUT STARS

This book is the continuation just after Hard Body Rock , when Lola wakes up after her first day and night as a full fledge member of Four and a Half Headstones. Things have changed with Drezden. He's more intense, if that's even possible, making Lola that much more confused and uncomfortable around him.

Drezden has decided he want's Lola, no matter the consequences. He also realizes during rehearsals that her fumbles while playing are a result of her reactions to him. But he also realizes that if he doesn't get to her before she hits the stage, he may lose her forever, to the fans and to her coming Rockstar status. Conflicted by what could happen when she becomes famous, he sets out to get what he wants, even if she's pushing him away.

"I don't know what my game is either," he whispers. "I only know the prize."

"You think I don't care? Lola, it's not about that! It's about being willing enough, strong enough, to take a god damn risk!"

Lola was my new addiction, and when she wouldn't allow me to have a hit, tobacco was all that remained.

"When did you become my drug?"
~ Drezden Halifax

I am waffling between giving it a full 5 stars or 4.5 because I don't know (I assume there will be) another book after this. I want another book after this! If she leaves me hanging and there isn't another one then its a 4.5.

I desperately want to know the same things that Lola wants to know...

Tomorrow, will we both be different people? What will he act like tomorrow? What will my life be like now? ~ Lola Cooper

There is a lot of internal dialogue and contemplation in both books of this series, which I don't normally like, but I can honestly say it doesn't distract from the story at all. Actually I think it adds to the intensity of what's going on between Lola and Drezden along with the alternating perspectives. I don't even feel like the other characters are being ignored, which can easily happen when you get so wrapped up in the world of two people discovering each other as well as themselves through there connection.

There is only one real sex scene between both of these books but when it happens the anticipation is so high, you can't help but get a little tingle. It was time and I, as the reader, was ready. All the foreplay before got me to the point I was shaking as much as I imagined Lola was.

I loved Lola's excitement over performing so well that even she knew she'd cemented her place as a Rockstar! I felt like I was at the concert, I was so excited for Lola.

The author did a great job, editing and there were NO spelling mistakes. Shocking I know. I don't see this seasoned authors with books published by established publishers. There were no slow moments when you just wanted to get through it. If anything I was reading too fast to get to what would happen next.

Good Job Nora. I will definitely read more from you, and PLEASE have more of Lola and Drezden's story. Thanks for the read, I enjoyed it immensely.

This was all kinds of delish... the back and forth the do we or don't we? Drezden made his mind up some what quickly but Lola was not going to be the next Yoko, lol! I loved this one as well. Again, the way Nora puts words together makes my brain happy! I'm a little concerned about Lola's brother... I want to hope for the best here but he's not giving me good vibes right now. Fame does crazy things to people so hopefully he'll get his ish together! The various hotel scenes in this one were wondiferous! I won't say anymore if you've read you know exactly what I'm talking about and if you haven't then you should! On to the next...

I was given this book by the author for an honest review.
5 STARS!!!! I loved it! Drez and Lola pick up right where they left off in the first book. Drez has Lola figured out, he makes her mess up with his fierce gaze and vocals directed at her and he will take however he affects her for now. Lola tries to stay strong and is relieved when Drez gives her a break but it won't last long. With her first show done and the fans knowing who she is will Drez lose her, not if he has a say in it! This is a great story that anyone who likes rockstar romance stories should read. I can't wait for the next book!!

Why?? Why did I think this was a two book series? There is another book with no release date on the horizon. You know what that means? The cliffhanger has not been evaded. Just when it was getting good and juicy too. *groans* I really enjoyed the chemistry between these two, but it was a bit too much insta-love-ish for me. They are completely obsessed with each other after two days. Unfortunately, I've gotten good and hooked and I have to find out what's in store for the "morning after". I'm just not sure I'm sold on their relationship. The author's writing style I really did connect with and enjoy. I went in with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised.

I read the first book in the series, Body Rock, as part of a blog tour and had to buy this book as soon as I finished the first because it left you hanging. It wasn't a cliffhanger, but the it was like the book just stopped. I am mentioning this because, Slow Body Rock, ends leaving the story un-finished. In my opinion, Body Rock and Slow Body Rock should have been one book, not two separate books.
Now, with that out of the way - I. Loved. This. Story!!!! I seriously couldn't put it down. I want more, I want more, I WANT MORE!!!

No one had ever walked into my world and toppled it so easily. Why was Drezden so good at it? What made him invade my mind and body with quick-silver speed? Cotton swaddled my brain. My tongue was useless, it held no arguments.
I found myself on the verge of collapsing, or running, or slipping away mentally. It felt like I'd been cornered by a rabid tiger. He was a fucking man-eater, and had said himself he wanted me. - Lola

Lola is kick ass and Drezden is a hard ass! But who doesn't love a rock-n-roll romance!?

It was a mistake to let Lola into the band. No, I admonished myself. She's perfect for the band. She's what we need. It just meant that letting her blossom would send her away like dandelion puffs on the wind.
Unless I can get to her first. If I could curl my palm around her, her floating seeds, then it wouldn't matter. She could bloom, but I would catch her before she flitted away. Before she floated right into the arms of someone else. - Drezden

Don't skip this one, but you might as well buy both books at the same time because you are not going to be able to stop reading! I. CANT. WAIT. TO. READ. THE. NEXT. BOOK!!

Even better than the first!
Nora Flite does it again!

I love that we get to know more about Drez and Lola and their pasts, especially with Drez. It helps explain a little of why Drez seems much older than what he is. Having the characters acknowledge the fact that they have only known each other a couple days and be just as shocked at the speed in which things happen make it work. The music and the connection with the characters that is brought out through the music is amazing to see.

I am also very intrigued by Sean's character. I think there is much more to the story there and I hope to see more of him in the future.

As the story continues things get taken to a whole new level. Drez figures out just how much he affects Lola when he sings and we have a pretty intense moment when he talks about how he could break her and how much that excites him.

The heat rises a few degrees in the second story as well. There is a wonderful and powerful sex scene in this one, thank goodness too I was starting to get worried I would be left hanging and I don't think my poor heart could take it! Only tiny issue was one second Drez was wearing briefs the next he was in boxers. Not a biggie just threw my mental picture off for a second.

I am super excited about this series! I hope to read more from this author very soon!

Simply beautiful! A sexy slow-moving train...this second book is like one gorgeous love song...the lyrics telling the story of Lola and Drezden falling in deep.
I really liked the first book a lot and was left with an ache to find out where they would go once it became apparent Lola would be unable to resist Drezden's advances. She doesn't want to blow her chance at fame and being in the band is her dream come true...but when love and passion is in the mix...sometimes the heart wants what the mind knows it shouldn't have.
I liked this second book even more than the first simply because it focused on the couple and hearing their inner dialogue was like reading poetry...haunting and touching. The sexual chemistry is stunning and Nora Flite is such a brave storyteller, digging into her character's heads and making us feel like we are voyeurs looking inside.
Now I want to know where this new relationship will lead...the secrets that Drezden is hiding behind his scars and what Sean meant by his cryptic advice to Lola... Brilliant!

*****5***** "love in an elevator" stars =)

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Just as Hard Body Rock did, this book grabs you from the first page and doesn't let go. Lola may want Drez, but she also doesn't want to blow any chance she has at being a rock star, so she attempts to set some ground rules with Drez, but of course he's not hearing any of it. While they both acknowledge that whatever is going on with them is happening extremely fast, the heart wants what the heart wants. If you thought the sexual tension in book one was something, clutch your pearls and gird your loins cause it's off the charts in this book.

We got a really small glimpse into Drez's past, we also learn that at some point Lola had to deal with bullies, and obviously there is a lot more to the story of Sean and Drez, and I can't wait till the next book comes out to get more details on all the storylines. I definitely recommend this book!

I found myself already in love with this story from Hard Body Rock. In this second part Slow Body Rock, we find ourselves along for the ride that is Lola's second day with the band. As with that first installment, nothing is ever easy for Lola.
With today being the day that she will be playing on stage with the band, Lola is very nervous. She is struggling with her feelings for Drezden, and also her own demons. Drezden finds himself drawn even more to Lola and is struggling with his own issues. He wants her to do well, but at what cost to himself? The back and forth of their feelings takes us to the concert. Will she do well? Or will her feelings screw up her performance? How will her brother feel about her performance? What about the after parties?
Come along on the journey with Lola and Drezden. It is one heck of a ride! And it is one I hope keeps going on and on. I cannot get enough of these guys, and I can't help finding myself rooting for Lola.

I received this arc for an honest review. I read the two books straight after each other and could not put them down, i was hooked, the books draw you in. Nora does it again, the story follows on from the first and is just as hot. After an accident there is definitely no denying that there s something between Lola and Drezden. He can't forget her, she constantly haunting his thoughts, and she can't forget the look on his face and the way he touched her. Feelings are getting stronger and Drezden craves Lola like a drug, Lola can't deny the connection but can't risk it all. After an amazing show, she's filled with adrenaline and confidence and they both give in to their feelings, but what does the future hold, what secrets do they hide, as they don't really know each other that well. I cannot wait to read more of heir story and find out what their future holds. Another great read. Highly recommended.

Slow Body Rock, the second novella in Nora Flites’ Body Rock series, was a real page turner. I devoured it! This novella was provided to me by the author for an honest review.

In this second novella, the reader sees Lola morph into a glamorous rock star. We also see the connection between the protagonists develop. Drezden perceives Lola’s feelings toward him. Lola wonders why she hesitated to fall under Drez’ charm. The chemistry between them sizzles and crescendos into an amazing love scene. Finally, Lola discovers that Drez and she have a painful past in common.

The first two novellas were quick reads. In the first novella, we are introduced to the characters and the second novella provided us with a very satisfying beginning to a promising romance. I can’t wait for the next installment. I recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a rock group series.

This novella leaves right off where the last one ended. We get to see how the inner workings of the band go. I loved seeing Drez so rapped up by a "kid" guitarist and how quickly he was consumed by her. Lola is trying to stay firm but hell who could deny a hot demanding front man of a band. Sean is still a mystery and i am trying my hardest to find him out. But like with all Nora books my guess is always wrong, which is good because predictability gets boring. i am biting at the bits to read the next one. And thank goodness I don't have to wait! :) This is a gritty lust filled novella that will get your heart pumping. It also makes me want to hear what Drez sounds like. If lola doesnt capture his heart soon im going to try ;)

Whoa!!!! Seriously, if I thought book one was good... Book two is awesome!!!

Seriously, all the angst in the first book turns into some good stuff!! Lola seriously rocks! I can not wait to see where this goes because I have a feeling... That alpha male is falling for a tiger kitten not a domesticated house cat.

One of the best features of this book is how hopeful it is. There's a lightness to this book despite the darker aspects- Lots of deep emotion here!!!

I could go on and on! I really really enjoyed this book! Again, I can barely sit still waiting for the next book... When is that again? Can we force her to write faster?! Lol

This book carries on directly from the last book, which just made me question why the author didn't make it into one longer book than two short books.

Throughout both books I have been waiting for that moment when the author starts to describe their performance, the thrill, the adrenaline and the atmosphere. Let me tell you, she did not disappoint.

The relationship between Drezden and Lola has just got hotter and I can't wait till the next book.

I received it in exchange of an honest review! Why did this book end???? I need more!!! Amazing book and perfect sequel!!! But why is it so short??? I know it's a novella but god it's a torture to not to know what happens after!!! This serie is completely addictive!!! So well written that you don't feel the pages turning! Such a great story detailed with a steamy, tortured, sexy tension in the relationship between two sweet, dark, tormented and marked characters!!! Lola is Drez's drug...and they're both mine!!! Again she did it, Nora Flite amazed me!!! Two thumbs up!!!

Received advanced copy in return for honest review.

I loved Drezden and Lola in the first book but they are even better in the second. Their attraction increases throughout this book. We also start to see how awesome a guitar player Lola is, and start to understand her past. We also learn more about Drez and his life. Drez continues to be hot and shows how proud and possessive of Lola he is. The characters just draw you in and the novella reads so fast it leaves me wanting the the third. Now that is the sign of a good book when its a series.

Once again the author has wowed me with her words... gritty and raw. The way she weaves the music, the talent, the performance into what is happening in reality makes for an intense read. I'm starting to get a better picture of what makes Drezden and Lola tick. They both seem really broken and I can now understand the draw, the fascination they have with one another. Now that they've taken a risk, I wonder how it will play out. On to the next. Ciao!

Loved this book. I couldn't put it down and flew through it, my only complaint was that it was so short and left me wanting more.

This is the second book in the series, picking up where Drezden and Lola's smouldering relationship. The whole story blew me away.

A great instalment and a must read for rockstar romance fans.
