A beautifully illustrated counting book. Cute animals are a great way to get Tot's attention. My version does have rather fragile pages, which kinda annoys her because she can't turn them as easily. That's more something for me to keep in mind than an issue with the book.
What another cute book. The children will get involved by talking about all the different animals in which the book had displayed as well as what each animal had done. We will then discuss on who has and hasn't been to the zoo. What animals in the book can they find at the zoo. What fun it would be to be a zoo keeper and take care of all the animals on a day to day basics. Discuss the colors of the animals and allow the children to draw their favorite animal and we will make a jungle scene and add the animals to the scene. We will talk about the stars in the sky and lay down and pretend its night time and count the stars in the sky who knows we might even see the big dipper!
When my babies are old enough to begin enjoying books, this is one of the first ones I read to them. They like the animals snuggling up with their moms, and they can connect with the idea of going to sleep. This book also introduces counting. And for the adult reading it, it has better rhyme and rhythm than many baby board books and also includes alliteration and assonance, which keeps it a favorite for parent and child as it's read over and over and over....
I liked this book so much, I think that this was a very educational book. This would be a great book to teach numbers and the different kinds of animals in class. The illustrations are very beautiful and I think that the cut out of the stars was a great touch to the book which could help with physical learners.
Jack received this book from volunteers at Children’s Mercy Hospital when we were there for an appointment. I think it was a Spinraza treatment day.
We finally got around to read it and it is so sweet. He enjoyed all the different animals in various climates and the colorful illustrations. Every time we turned the page, he said night night or bye bye to the animals. So sweet. He was also obsessed with sticking his finger in the star cutouts. Lol
I read this cute little book to Mattingly tonight. She really enjoyed it! It's a cute little bedtime story, with pretty night-time illustrations and cut-outs. I recommend it!
It was cute and E likes saying “owl”, I liked the holes fit where the stars were because he usually engages with those BUT I didn’t care for the fact the stars did that on every page even though the story line spread across two. So basically it was counting to 20, not ten, per “section” of the story. Still a good book though.
A neat little book to help kids count their numbers to 10. Great for preschoolers! I enjoyed reading this to my little niece who is 3, she like all of the pictures!
