La Dynastie des Elfes noirs
Parmi toutes les races d’Elfes, les Noirs sont sans doute les plus inquiétants. Tueurs sombres et silencieux voilés de mystère, nul jusqu’ici ne connaissait leurs origines. Qu’ils naissent Bleus, Blancs, Verts, Rouges ou Gris, leur vraie nature ne se révèle qu’après quelques années…
Gaw’er est un jeune Elfe Bleu au sang chaud. If you've ever read the adventures of Drizzt Do'Urden, then you know what Dark Elves are all about (not Drizzt, of course). However, the authors of this French fantasy series have a different idea of Dark Elves. They're not born as such, or rather, they carry a dark gene, whether they're Blue, Red, or Green. This gene manifests itself at a certain point in their lives when they start to mutate and become dark-skinned, silver-haired killing machines.
Our protagonist, Gaw'er, was born as a Blue Elf, but when a Dark Elf recruiter spotted him, he's taken to their citadel to be trained to be an assassin. There he finds enemies and screams that keep him awake at night until he decides to explore their source.
Great art and a solid story with some interesting choices for Dark Elves. I want to see more of this character and hopefully, we'll see him in other issues. Think of this issue as Harry Potter as an Elf with rage issues, with Ron Weasley wanting to backstab him but getting stabbed himself by Harry Potter instead.

In one word: awesome! This entire French fantasy series is top notch, with nary a poor installment. Some volumes, however, resonate deeper with me than others. The Dynasty of the Dark Elves is such a tale.
Among the races of the elves, regardless of color, all possess a "dark" gene. In time this dark nature manifests. Gaw'er is a young Blue Elf with a violent disposition. His father notices it and is troubled, but during a visit to a port city his son is discovered by a Dark Elf recruiter. The child is taken to be trained by the Dark Elves to the Citadel of Slurce, the Fortress of the Dark Elves.
Here he will learn the deadly arts that turn the Dark Elves into master assassins and also he will learn the terrible fate of those who walk the dark paths to become Masters of the Order. No more spoilers.
This was an amazing issue. I loved the character of Gaw'er and the brutal regimen of the Citadel. The lessons learned are harsh and uncompromising. Great artwork and a wonderful story make this volume one of my favorites.
If you like well developed characters, set in a dark and harsh environment-look no further. The Dynasty of the Dark Elves is an issue that you will enjoy tremendously. Highly Recommended.

We finally reach the last, and most mysterious, of all the Elven peoples: the Dark Elves of the Fortress of Slurce.
In The Dynasty of the Dark Elves, which is to me the third best arc in the series although the least consistent quality-wise, we walk into their isolated fortress following a Blue Elf child being taken to the castle by a Dark Elf master and talent scout. Yes, it turns out that a Dark Elf isn't "born" but is made into one at Slurce. Well, technically, they are born Dark Elves, but not as a "race" exactly, like a Wood Elf or a White Elf would. Instead, they're originally born in any of the four races, but have a sort of genetic mutation that needs nourishing and training so they can become the deadly Elves of dark skin and white hair that everyone in that universe fears. Hence why Slurce sends out scouts to all the realms to find those children with the genetic mutation to bring in and train.
The protagonist here is Gawyn, originally a Blue Elf child from a family of fishers and sailors, taken to the fortress to be educated, where he'll excel to the point of becoming a sort of protégé to the dour master in charge. The story exposing the training of the future master assassins is surprisingly good, with a touch of the tragic because it's revealed their status comes at a high price and much torment they're exposed to from Day 1 in class. Due to some unorthodox stuff young Gawyn has been involved in, he has to leave Slurce a bit earlier than thought, but he doesn't go off unprepared because advanced alumnus that he was, he was quite near a master's own skill level when he's sent away. Outside, he has to disguise his true profession, because nobody knows the Dark Elves are really assassins for hire, and find some mundane employment. But he's so terrible at anything not martial, plus still a tad too naïve and hopeful for a master cut-throat, all of which combined will predictably land him in trouble.
The art by Ma Yi is amongst those I like best in the series as well, and I also liked that the palette wasn't exaggeratedly "dark" to suit the atmosphere of the assassin's fortress. I must confess that the physical appearance of the Dark Elves is the one I find the most outlandish, and that I was more into the landscapes and scene sequences than on the peoples themselves because of that, but that's just my taste.

The fifth book in the Elves series is titled “The Dynasty of the Dark Elves”, this is a French series translated into English. As the series say Elves, these are fantasy series, each volume is based on one of the different kind of elves species, this one introduces us to Dark Elves they are the assassins and considered horrible and mean creatures by all. Each of the volumes is standalone and can be ready as such. Each of the five volumes released till now has had different authors and artist.
This was the best volume I have read in the elves series, by focusing on an interesting and dark character and at the same time showing how the Dark Elves are made and trained we get a solid story. The book is a short one at 48 pages and being a page turner, it was one quick read.
The art is fantastic, it’s been improving with each volume and this one is absolutely the best yet.

Great story and great art (sometimes the faces and skin look a bit rubbery/plastic). I hope they return to this character and to the school (a bit of Harry Potter and The Book of the New Sun)...

Sowohl die Geschichte, als auch optisch hat es mir richtig gut gefallen. Ich mochte das Düstere und die Darstellung der Schwarzelfen.

Elfes est une série de BD dont les tomes 7 et 8 paraîtront respectivement en Août et Octobre 2014, chaque tome coûtant 14,50€ et faisant entre 48 et 58 pages. Publiés par les Editions Soleil, les tomes sont rédigés par un collectif d’auteurs et de dessinateurs (comme Olivier Peru pour le tome 3…). C’est une saga BD de fantasy centrée sur les elfes, un tome correspondant à un peuple d’elfes différents. Ce sont donc des aventures indépendantes.
Si j’ai trouvé qu’au niveau dessin, chaque tome se valait, avec néanmoins une préférence pour les planches du tome 3, j’ai cependant trouvé qu’au niveau de l’histoire, le tome 5 était en-dessous. La BD est plus petite et contrairement aux autres tomes, on reste au même endroit… Mais c’était quand même une BD agréable !
Si vous aimez les elfes et la fantasy en général, ces BD sont faites pour vous. Les dessins sont splendides, les scénarios bien menés mais avec rarement des happy end. J’espère que ma médiathèque se procurera la suite !
NB : Un autre cycle de cinq tomes est prévu, qui prendront les n° des tomes 6 à 10 et qui seront cinq nouvelles aventures avec chacun des cinq peuples elfiques.

Premièrement, je dois dire que les elfes bleus sont assez beaux au niveau de la couleur de leur peau. Quant à leurs habits, comment dire : les hommes, ou du moins certains, portent un pagne avec deux manchons en cuir au niveau des poignets et des mollets ; les femmes ont des bijoux en plus et leurs tenues au-dessus de leur taille est très simpliste, un « soutien-gorge » qui ne cache que les tétons mais dans l'ensemble, je dois avouer qu'elles sont très belles.
Après, ici, on se retrouve avec des Elfes bleus mais il est expliqué que tous les elfes ont le gêne « noir » et que parfois, ce gêne ressort. Ici, on se retrouve avec un elfe bleu enfant mais dont la peau deviendra noir quand il sera adolescent ou adulte et dans ce cas-là, il deviendra un tueur et sera formé comme tel. Ensuite, ils sont amenés dans une forteresse et je dois dire qu'elle aurait sa place dans l'univers de Tolkien dans les terres du Mordor.
Bref, les élèves progressent d'années en années et seuls quelques-uns d'entre eux deviennent des assassins de légendes, en quelque sorte mais il y a le revers de la médaille. Ils doivent boire une potion qui retarde l'inéluctable et le pire, c'est ce qu'il advient des plus anciens de ces assassins.
En conclusion, un tome assez sympa à lire et dont j'ai hâte de connaître la suite des aventures. C'est un très bon tome, très sympa à lire et très divertissant. J'ai fort bien aimé les dessins et les couleurs, c'est toujours aussi beau. Un autre tome à posséder dans sa bibliothèque !

Komiks został stworzony przez scenarzystę Christophe’a Arlestona i rysownika Ma Yi. Historia rysunkowa przybliża nam, kim tak naprawdę są Czarne Elfy, których boją się wszystkie rasy Arranii.
Akcja rozpoczyna się w rodzinie Niebieskich Elfów, gdzie na świat przychodzi chłopiec. Przez większość swojego dzieciństwa uczył się sztuki żeglarskiej, łowienia niebezpiecznych shargrenów. Co roku rodzice wpadali w odwiedziny do Pływającego Portu, gdzie załatwiali najpotrzebniejsze sprawy i przy okazji zabawiali się chociaż przez chwilę. Jednak tym razem w wielkim mieście wydarzyło się coś, co na zawsze odmieniło życie dziecka… zostaje oddany Czarnemu Elfowi.
Trafia do Cytadeli Slurce (Fortecy Czarnych Elfów), gdzie przechodzi szkolenie, aby stać się nieuchwytnym zabójcą na zlecenia. W trakcie nauki doskonalone są jego umiejętności władania bronią, ziołami oraz po części magią dusz.
Co do całej historii to nie mogę nic złego napisać. Po raz kolejny uniwersum Świata Akwilonu zachwyca mnie swoją rozmaitością i bogactwem. Fabuła ma stałe tempo, nie zmienia się ono ani nie ma scen budujących napięcie. Zapewne przez to, że jest to powieść o dorastaniu, szukania swojego miejsca na świecie. Pozostałe elementy, takie jak walka o przetrwanie czy szkolenia, to tylko dodatki, które urozmaicają komiks.

Elves: The Dynasty of the Dark Elves is cunnng, inventive, excellent, full of unexpected twists and gripping from the start! It will keep you on your toes guessing which way things are going to go as the characters go on a learnign curve! Elves: The Dynasty of the Dark Elves does not hesitate to put it characters through the wringer and swirl them around! Three dimensional characters, an array of different motivations making for characters working together who you would not imagine, characters who are all distinct, full of heroics from the start, universe turning on its head events, epic level art and epic world building! Old plots continued and new ones set up which raises more questions about where things are going in Elves: The Dynasty of the Dark Elves! Full of adventure and action! Brilliant Crisp High Five! Get it when you can!

I like the way the black elves have no color. They are born in other colors but after sometime they reveal their true nature...
Poor blue elf gets it rather though but seems a real problem kid. That is what the black elves want: a murderer, a fighter...
But things are happening that you don't expect. Like the filling of crystals I'm curious if it comes back in the series because it wasn't finished.

Aquest mola, el fet que hi hagi la possibilitat i un lloc pels elfs corroputs, cor fosc, etc. mola. Que els aprofitin acceptant el que són i siguin útils en el sentit que sigui, en definitiva, que els seu caràcter sigui canalitzat d'alguna manera. En aquest t'hi endinses, no es fa llarg i t'expliquen tota la infàcia el prota, molt bé.

Un tome beaucoup plus sombre que les précédents que ce soit au niveau de l'intrigue ou encore au niveau des dessins. En effet, on découvre ici le royaume des elfes noirs et toute la noirceur qui le caractérise. J'ai beaucoup aimé ce tome, il m'a bien fait frissonner. J'ai hâte de voir comment va se continuer la saga maintenant que l'on connait tous les peuples des elfes. Une bonne lecture.

J'ai apprécié la manière dont la rivalité entre les deux étudiants a été traitée (avec des actions très cruelles) que j'ai trouvé captivante. J'ai aimé en apprendre plus sur les elfes noirs. Cependant, concernant l'intrigue globale, je trouve qu'elle aurait été parfaite en temps qu'introduction ou prequel à une histoire centrale, plutôt qu'en temps que récit à part entière.

Un épisode plus sombre plus brutal encore que beaucoup d'autres. C'est une vision des elfes noir un peu différents des autres versions que nous connaissons. Ce n'est pas mon épisode préféré de la série mais il est intéressant.

Incroyablement noir et palpitant, on ne s’ennuie pas du début à la fin et on en apprend pas mal sur les elfes noirs… Ça a l’air d’être un peuple vraiment fascinant, j’ai hâte de lire la suite.

La Dinastía de los Elfos negros cuenta la historia de Gaw'er, un elfo azul que desde el día en que nació albergaba algo oscuro en su interior. Cuando llega a determinada edad, un avistador de los elfos negros lo descubre y sus padres se lo entregan porque en realidad Gaw'er es un elfo negro.
Tras su llegada a Slurce, la ciudad de los elfos negros, aprende a convertirse en un asesino infalible y su piel, que era azul, termina por volverse negra.
Una historia apasionante y muy dura donde vemos las terribles condiciones a las que son sometidos los elfos que llegan a Slurce para ser convertidos en expertos asesinos y para imponerse sobre los suyos.
Tras su llegada a Slurce, la ciudad de los elfos negros, aprende a convertirse en un asesino infalible y su piel, que era azul, termina por volverse negra.

De nuevo el dibujo me gusta menos que en los dos primeros tomos, pero el guión se ha vuelto a relanzar y supera a los dos volúmenes anteriores.

J'ai beaucoup aimé ce tome de la saga, c'est une très bonne manière d'introduire les elfes noirs. On en apprend beaucoup et rapidement, l'intrigue étant complète et vite achevée. Si le scenario m'a plus, je n'ai pas beaucoup aimé le personnage principal ...
