omfg Bill bought me some books off from my tbr list and this book came free in the package. What a lovely birthday gift! As for the review, who calls their little sister just little sister, doesn’t she have a name? Also, are these characters beavers?

Summary-
The critters in town have lots of chores to do, but have a fun day at the park instead.

Review-
Of the Mercer Mayer books I've read, I like this one the least as of right now. It teaches a bad message to the readers, and has a weak plot. The art saves this from a one star, as it's in my liking.

If I left a list of chores for dad and son to complete and came home to a giant mess, I'd be pretty pissed. Little Critter had a special day but Mom is looking into marital counselling.

I'm a fan of Mercer Mayer for a couple of reasons. I think it is important that not all kids' books have to be heavy and deep into meaning and lessons. Some can just be everyday happenings. Yet every book leaves you feeling that something was learned. I can relate to what Little Critter experiences as a kid. I faced many of these experiences in a similar way. I was blessed.
Another reason I love these books is that they always leave me feeling happy.
A third reason that makes them SO fun is the illustrations. Fantastic! So well done. And finding the mouse and spider in every picture just adds to the fun. Some of the Little Critter books have a frog on every page.
And that makes these children's books so fulfilling, for kids and adults.

Little Critter is a good character for kids. Relatable as Little Critter goes through feelings and situations that are very present every day in a child's life. Another great read, especially in a classroom!

I read this one in the rocking chair with Dad on my birthday. This was the first present I got for my 3rd birthday. Later on, we read it again before bed and I could read back some of the story after only listening to it once!

This is a cute book that shows children that helping your parents is always a nice thing to do. Of course, it was not the way that mom and dad wanted it to be done, and a lot of things went wrong during the day. However, by the end of the day, mom and dad still love him and appreciate that he tried to help them.
