Vegas Girls #1

Uncomplicated

Rate this book
Three days a week I work your everyday nine-to-five. The paperwork is never-ending. The pay is mediocre, and the office drama is simply intolerable. But the other four days a week, I am my own boss.

My name is Jennifer Sunshine and I am a Vegas Call Girl.
My clients range from frat boys on spring break to multimillionaire business men with stuffy wives and less than ideal equipment.

I don’t have a daddy-complex or some kind of sob story.
I don’t need the money, but it certainly is nice.
The only thing I crave is the exhilarating feeling I get from being in control of something. Anything.

My life is uncomplicated, simple even.
That was until he bulldozed his way into my life, and everything changed.
Overnight he makes me realize how much I truly need him.

Three times best selling author Dawn Robertson was born and raised in Connecticut before relocating to Florida in 2013. The same year first novel, Hers debuted as an Amazon Best Seller. Replicating that success with two additional novels in the following years.

The Indie publishing world has grown to love her raw writing style depicting strong
women in real life situations, topping the charts in erotica, romance, and romance-suspense. Robertson has even insinuated that the female characters in her book mirror her real life. But, that I'll leave to speculation.

When Dawn Robertson is not writing she is a full-time Real Estate professional in Florida, and mother of three amazing children.

The only time I actually write a book review is when the book is just some bullshit! What do you get with you put together a call girl, ex-client, club owner/"mobster", a Vegas marriage, insta-love, and an unplanned pregnancy (lol)? You get this BULLSHIT! I read this book, shook my head then allowed my bff to read it, so I can get a 2nd opinion because I thought I was trippin'.

We meet Jenny Sunshine. She has a regular job but she's also a call girl because she likes sex. Okay. Moving on...she goes to a club, makes eye contact with this "mysterious" person who happens to be our alpha male Mathis (club owner/"mobster"). Oh, before then she's only had two drinks & she's already tipsy...see where this is going? Any-who...he forces her to meet him, she blacks out (2 drinks y'all) & wakes up married to him the next day.

Fast forward....she hates him, she's lusts for him, they have sex, he meets the parents, she has an ex-client stalking her and he's all alpha male "she's mine, I'll kill you if you touch her" (yeah okay). We meet the "evil" brother, they don't trust each other...but a couple days later they do & cue the family reunion moment. This is all happening withing about 2 weeks - 1 month I believe. Then she becomes a madame for other call girls, becomes friends with ex-client/stalker, wants to have a baby & gets prego on the first try (wish it was that easy).....she & they live HEA!

Whole time I was reading this, I was thinking...could this be even more cliche'? I honestly feel like this author took bits and pieces from other books and wrote this mess. IT WAS A MESS! There were no character development. I've read some really good call girl, billionaire romances and this is just a pile of shit.

I was so lucky to Beta read this for my 2 friends and favorite authors Dawn and Jo-Anna.

I will say the two ladies have amazing chemistry. I have read books by both of these ladies seperately and I can see their style in this novel but it defo works together. Dawn's ability to write a female lead that is so strong and alpha. She writes strong and likeable females who are kick ass and tough as nails but soft and sassy. Jo-Anna writing ability to write the cocky, jackass alpha males you wanna kick but end up falling into bed with:) See A+B=EPIC writing!!

So this novel is about Jennifer Sunshine. Call Girl Extrodinare. She is totally Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman ....I dont need a pimp. I tell them how much and how long kinda girl. Well she is head over heels in love with a client. But realizes, she is just a whore to him :( So Saddened, she goes out with her bestie to a club. She sees a cocky, DB club owner. She is sooo not impressed but yet of course Nora falls all over herself at the security detail the Guy has.

Next thing she knows she wakes up AND they are married.....OMG SAY WHAT!!!! Strong willed and confident Jenny is not having ANNNNNY of it but alpha male Mathis is sooooo not letting her go.......Mathis is a bad boy from one of Jo-Anna's series and I gotta admit, I didnt like him at ALLLL. When I saw he was the lead, I kinda grumbled. I mean who wants the bad guy to find love?? NOT ME!!! But he is soooo hilirious with his alpha presence and I totally fell for him, especially when he wore his thick coke bottle nerd glasses at night......Well Mathis sees Jenny and was instantly drawn to her. She was spunky and totally didnt give a crap about how rich he was. She just DIDN'T care at alllllll!!!!! WELLLLLL, Mathis may not have been 100% honest about their relationship but he is going to do everything to keep her with him.

As you can inmagine, 2 strong willed, dominate personalities in the same room.....they fight ALOT. She fights her draw to him. He fights his being whipped over this woman but in the end they totally and completely commit to each other. They help each other with their business endevers and they grow very strong and confident together.

Ok so some issues they face....Jenny's client whom she thought she loved....DB of epic amounts. He is defo a thorn in their side and causes alot of issues for the two of them plus one of Jenny's employees. Other issues, Jenny is a bit of a drama queen (which is why you will love her) and has mini tantrums which Mathis (I think secretly loves it) has no problems in solving for her.

This series has so many possibilities with characters and story lines. We really just got a taste of Mathis and Jenny so I would love to see another book but then I wanna see Dean and Nora...I mean whats goingon there!!?? ANNNND then there is Mr. DB Client...ok his name is Jude and Jenny's girl Lori. I gotta say after getting a glimpse of the prolgue for book 2, Jude better get his shit together. Lori is some kinda special and DESERVES an HEA with a worthy man....and he isnt worth IMO....YET!!!

Anyway, if you enjoy either of these authors OR just love strong, confident characters....this is a defo one click purchase for you!!

DNF 22%.

Okay, to be honest, I am super disappointed, this one looked so good! I had such high hopes from just reading the blurb. But, what it boils down to, is that I was REALLY confused by this book.....this just wasn't for me. I know 22% seems early to stop reading a book, but after the utter confusion & stupidity in the beginning... - I knew this wasn't for me, especially after that little surprise, it left me feeling like WHAT. THE. ABSOLUTE. FUCK.

description

Then I decide to skip ahead to see what the ending was all about, hoping this book might redeem itself, & maybe, just maybe I should give it more of a chance, but low and behold

Just seriously confused & annoyed....

description

This book got great reviews from other people, so maybe it's just me, I guess if this is all up your alley then you should give it a try. I honestly loved "Hers" by Dawn Robertson, this one just didn't work for me! That is all.

Disclosure: I received an unedited ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are completely my own.

What a fun ride! Looking for a lighthearted read with some twists, turns, a TON of sex, and a happily ever after? Look no further!

Jenny Sunshine is awesome. She is a straight shooter and isn't afraid to show it. She tells it like it is, even if she is a little hesitant on the inside. She not all tough exterior and it will take that one special person to help her see who she is and what she can be. Although, I can't actually tell you who that is or what that will be.

This book is filled with some pretty wicked awesome characters. From the lovely Irish redhead Jenny Sunshine to holy hotness, Mathis Verlinden. Not to mention Jude who is sexy as sin, but shows a very unflattering side of himself. Oh, lets not forget Mathis' bodyguard, Dean (whom I absolutely adore) and Jenny's best friend Nora (who is such a sweetie). So many great characters and they each have a story to tell. This is most definitely Jenny and Mathis' story to tell, but I truly hope Ms. Robertson and Ms. Walker will bring us more Jude. I'd love to see him 'reformed' so to speak.

Even though Uncomplicated was written by two authors and from two points of view, you honestly wouldn't know it if they didn't tell you. The chapters blend beautifully and the characters mesh so well throughout the entire book. We get to meet some of Jenny's family as well as some of Mathis' family and those are interesting stories, but wait to you read the laugh until you cry stories - although I'm not going to say anything now or you'll know how their story ends.

Just know that this book is now on the top of my 'beach read' list and it is definitely going to be read again very soon.

'Could you fall in love with someone so fast? Was it possible?'

Jennifer Sunshine is a Vegas call girl. She grew up in the bible belt and has lived a normal life, four days a week she works at an office and goes home to her modest apartment. What people don't know is behind the normal southern girl is a secret, the rest of the week she fulfills the paying mans fantasies. She doesn't do it for the money, although it pays excellent. She does it for the control.. and the sex of course!

'But unlike most women I knew, I was perfectly content to be alone. I could totally grow old as the prostitute cat lady without a care in the world, because I wouldn't have to play mom to an overgrown male toddler.'

Mathis, ahhhh Mathis. He is a business mogul, owning several hot clubs, and is in Vegas to open his latest. He grew up in a troubled home and immigrated to North America as soon as he was able, building everything he has from the ground up. But he tires of the emptiness his life holds. Its all become monotonous to him.
So on opening night, when Mathis spots Jenny across the room, he knows he has to have her. Unfortunately the feeling isn't mutual, at least that what Jenny wants him to think.

'There is no way I could let him know that I basically just f* cked him six ways to Sunday in my mind. Although by the smile on his face, he already knew.'

So what happens when you wake up, in a strangers bed? With a rock on your finger? You freak the f*** out of course!! But what makes it all the more spectacular is that while Jenny has NO idea what happened last night, her new husband does, and he's not letting her go!
They have an undeniable pull and chemistry, but they cant seem to stop fighting long enough to truly get to know each other.

'I think I just fell in love with this b! tch.'
'This whole thing was f* cked. I loved him and hated him all at once.'

Will these two from such different worlds be able to figure each other out? Will they stop fighting what feels so right and see what could be? Or will the past tear them apart before they even get a real chance?

Uncomplicated was a truly FUN read! I fell in love with the banter and fighting between the characters, not just Jenny and Mathis but her BFF Nora too. I felt real emotion in some of the dialogue that was so true to me, filled with self doubt and insecurities, nothing about this book felt forced. Mathis is AMAZING!! Sexy, sweet, naughty... just all around perfection. Jennifer was witty, smart, and fiery, they made an explosive couple that was truly addicting. The writing was smooth and flowed, everything about this book was uncomplicated... ahhh see what I did there?!
Ok but seriously, it was a great read, my only annoyances, Jennifer Sunshine... that's her REAL name. I thought it was a call name at first, but no. It drove me crazy! While reading, when it popped up, I could help but mutter, that's not a real f**ing name! Then the word c* nt. Not my personal favorite word and would take anything in its place, but it was used a bit. Small minor infractions and basically I'm nit picking, but I guess when a book is this good that's what you get.

You can enter to win it on my blog here (starting at midnight): http://bookienookiereviews.blogspot.c...

I needed sex like I needed food, like I needed air to breathe. It was a part of my being.

That’s Mathis Verlinden, nightclub owner. He is cocky and brash and oozing with all that alpha-male hotness that I totally lust after. Mathias is funny to me… he totally plays that “I am going to make you want me” game so well. To say he “bulldozed” his way into Jennifer’s life is a major understatement and let me tell you, HE DOES NOT FIGHT FAIR! He is not beyond twisting things around to get what he wants.
I’m a call girl. I have sex with men like you, for large sums of money four days a week.

That’s Jennifer Sunshine and if you ask me, they sound like a match made in heaven, but Jennifer is accustomed to doing things HER way, on her terms and this hot jackass who calls himself “Mathis” is smoking crack if he thinks he is going to strong arm her into doing something she doesn’t want to do. HA! Yeah! That’s what *she* thinks!
Don’t worry, Jennifer, I didn’t take advantage of you last night; even though you are naked. Drunk women aren’t my thing. But sexy women who skip bra and panties are right up my alley

What I loved about Jennifer and Mathias is that they are both very strong characters and watching their battle of wills over the course of the book was quite entertaining. Combine their professions and their personalities and you have the perfect recipe for loads of drama that had me gasping from shock and laughter.

UNCOMPLICATED is a joint effort from authors Dawn Robertson and Jo-Anna Walker and I thought the story flowed seamlessly – which always amazes me how authors are able to do this. Jo-Anna is a new author to me, but I have read other books that Dawn has written and I loved them. I will definitely be checking out more of what the dynamic duo will be dishing out in the future.

***ARC provided via Fiona's Book Reviews in return for my honest opinion***

I love a book that pulls me in on the first couple of chapters, and this book really did that. We meet Jennifer who has a boring admin job three days a week and is a high class hooker on the other four.

Well that's different.

She's kind of in love with one of her clients, who fortunately is hot, young and rich. We are treated to a really sizzling threesome featuring said hot, young, rich client, his hot young girlfriend and our Jennifer in the first chapter and I was in story heaven; I thought I was in for a really entertaining ride (if you'll pardon the pun).

Then we switch to Mathis (yep, that's his name. I had to work really hard to get the sound of 'when a child is born out of my head every time I read 'Mathis', but that's probably just me). He's 28, a mega successful businessman and owner of lots of achingly trendy night spots. He's not interested in relationships but needs to get laid - you know the type. Needless to say, he's also a hottie.

They meet, she's drunk...then it gets crazy. So crazy, I actually checked to see whether I'd managed to accidentally tap my kindle too many times and skipped a few pages.

I hadn't.

I should say at this point, I was still really interested, excited even. A similar thing happened in 'Lick' and that was a solid 4 star read for me, so I had high hopes for a story about two people gradually getting to know one another and finding out their initial intuition about one another was spot on.

Sadly, it didn't happen that way. Instead there were a few scenes that were uncomfortably familiar (first hot kiss in an elevator, hiding her birth control pills) and then everything was resolved. At this point we were at 60% and I was hoping the rest of the plot would kick in and something 'big' would happen. It didn't. The last half of the book was like a very long epilogue. That's not to say it wasn't sweet because there were plenty of 'ah' moments, but I was getting twitchy and a little bored. The sex scenes continued to be hot and frequent, but just not enough to carry the thin plot.

The characters were inconsistent at times too - Mathis particularly veered from being a confident, assured businessman to a pathetic, henpecked specimen of a man and Kyle, her former client improbably became Mathis' BFF.

I'm afraid I was disappointed with this. The story felt unrealistic and underdeveloped. Such a shame when it had such a strong opening.

Don't you looooove the cover!

The synopsis is interesting that's why I was reading CHERISHED by Kelly Elliott a little faster so I could read this one.

It started really good and it's a dual POV which I like!
I was totally caught off guard when....I can usually sense if....then he said...and I was like "WTF?!"
It was totally unexpected!!

Anyways, I like the story, the characters and It was written pretty well though the first few chapters kind of have this...I don't know how to call those but, it's the end of a....scene or something and it ends with a cliff? hell I don't know how to explain it but I kind of didn't like it.

This was book was funnnnnnyyyyyy and sexxxxxxxyyyyyy and just plain old good! It's about damn time we get our female lead that ROCKS! Jennifer Sunshine ROCKS! You will absolutely LOVE her...

Jennifer Sunshine is a high paid Vegas Call Girl, who plays by her own rules. Everything in her life is just the way she wants it - uncomplicated - until she meets Mathis. The Vegas businessman that strides into her life and rocks her world.

Jennifer is at the opening of Mathis' new nightclub in Vegas, when he spots her and immediately wants her beneath him. And Mathis holds no restraints in making sure Jennifer becomes his. And he refuses to let Jennifer run from him no matter how hard she tries. 'I shouldn't drink around this man, it clearly has already proved to be extremely dangerous. Next thing I know I would wake up with a flock of kids or something. It was just how this man rolled.'

One of my favorite moments...was when Jennifer went to confront one of her ex-clients that was causing her and Mathis problems. Oh did I forget to mention that Mathis did not know Jenny was a call girl. Bayybbbeeee you will have to read that for yourself. Sorry but this takes me back to one of my other favorite parts...when Mathis took Jenny to a business dinner and in walks Jude and Lily, and she had just recently slept with both of them. LOL! Anyway Jude was secretly in love with Jenny and that was why he had been a repeat client, which brings us back to her confronting him. She went into his place and stood her ground like the boss she was. She had pictures and info on him that sent him wagging his tail between his legs. And all I could think was this Jenny Sunshine is a damn BOSS! "But, Jude...I won't come again. This is over. If you make good on any of the promises you made to Mathis, I will release these pictures. This file will go to every last business associate of yours, and your fathers. Don't mistake my pity for weakness, Jude. I give one chance. That is all." Two snaps and a twist - Jenny don't play that!

The funniest parts of the book...always involved the shit that came out of their mouth or the things they were thinking. The things they said to each other or to other people was absolutely hilarious. Like when Jenny had to keep her friend's baby and she was trying to figure out what to do with the baby...she thought...'Hooker and dildos? I am a fucking pro! Babies and bouncers? Not so much.' I was SCREAMING Laughing! And when Mathis was thinking about Jenny being pregnant, 'If I had it my way, I would fuck a child into her every year, for the rest of our lives but, I didn't think she would go for that.' I am telling you this book will have you rolling over in laughter!

OMG and the SEXXXXX scenes were HOTTTT...I am not even gone give you a taste of what Mathis has to offer. But I will tell you to read the book - you will be sweating from how Mathis and Jenny were putting it down. 'He was unsuspecting. He was blissful. Completely lost in the pleasure of my mouth on his dick seconds earlier. And I jumped to action. Grabbing both his wrists, I worked quickly to handcuff them to the headboard. It wasn't until I had one fully secured that he realized what I was doing. By then I had the second wrist in my grip and my cunt snuggly against his face. His complaints are muffled as I ride his face. That will teach you to think you are in control!'

I had to leave you with something...I absolutely LOVED this book!!!! I even text my friends and told them I was thinking about becoming a call girl...don't judge me!

Ok, so let me start by saying, if you are looking for steam. Stop right here. Read this book and then come back and read the rest of this. This book is hot. From the very beginning. It doesn’t stop all the way through. You want panty melting heat… whew… this book certainally has it. But there is so much more to this story and I wasn’t expecting what was within the pages of this book at all!

There is so much to this story. Yes, Jennifer is a call-girl, a very high-paid one at that, but there is so much more to her. Jennifer is from a small town in Kansas and her parents are apparently just a notch on the Bible Belt of America. So as much as she loves them, she cannot live in their world. Living in Sin-City she discovers so much more to life than what she is accustomed to. She is used to being bought. She is used to her same bidders and though she wishes that one of her clients will stop with it all and take her far away from what she is doing, she knows she will never be content being a kept woman.

But one night when she is not working, something happens in a bar. She wants to cut lose for a little bit and hang out with her friend. But one glance, one eye-lock later and several shots, her world changes drastically. When she wakes up mmmm… wait what? That’s right, it may have happened in Vegas just like a scene in a movie. But this guy… could she really find more with him than just another date for the night? Could she really need him as much as she is feeling she needs him? Could he be the one to break her from her carreer choice?

Yes, this book was hot but it was also about discovering what you really want out of life. Jennifer thought she knew exactly what she wanted, but a little bit of alcohol and all bets are off and she knows it. She now has to decide what she really wants out of life. Does she want to be looked after by just one guy? Can she really fall for him?

Now, let’s talk for a minute about him… Mathias… he is rich and has a great life. He knows that he can have any woman that he wants and when he spots Jennifer, he knows she is the one. The only one. He seems like such a dominate at points in this book and I thought for a time he was going to go all 50 Shades on Jennifer… but he also had such a soft spot for this woman. He will stop at nothing to make her his. I really liked his character. He was a strong businessman and he had a great will about him, but when it came to Jennifer, all bets were off. She challenged him to be a better man and I really liked him because he knew that he could be a better man as long as she was by his side.

This book was fun, flirty, edgy and sexy as all get out. I really enjoyed the story and I loved the secondary characters too. The secondary characters helped to create this story into just a simple romance to something I was not expecting. This book was not what I expected, but I did enjoy it.

Life used to be UNcomplicated. Now everything has changed.
Uncomplicated tells the story of Jennifer Sunshine, an exclusive Vegas Call-Girl. She is not like the others, all needy and looking for easy money. She just enjoys sex, and she excels at that. She only has sex with her clients. She does not want to have a boyfriend, have kids or get married, WAIT, that WAS BEFORE.

Mathis is an important and businessman, he owns lots of night clubs. He has money, women throwing at his feet. But something is missing, the most important thing.WAIT, that WAS BEFORE.

Jennifer and Mathis crossed paths. Something definitely will occur. Are they a perfect match? Will some events destroy or make them stronger?
One thing I can assure you: you will LOVE the book. I ENJOY every single word of the book.

I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. I WAS ACHING AT THE SEX SCENES, damn Mathis and Jennifer! First of all, I have to say that I LOVE that Jennifer was a Vegas Call-Girl and the fact that she did not do that for the money or because she did not have another choice. SHE FUCKING DOES THAT BECAUSE SHE LOVES HAVING SEX. I FUCKING LOVE HER AND HER RED HAIR. <3

Mathis is THE BEST. He was so understanding with her, so gentle (at times!. I love their  chemistry. Mathis being jealous, submitting, begging....Jennifer begging him to just FUCK HER HARD.

To conclude, have I talked about the sex scenes? Dawn and Jo-Anna, both of you EXCEL at writing them!! I FUCKING LOVE YA GIRLS <3. You are awesome. Cant wait to read more books written by you!

Ladies, grab some tissues, washcloth or whatever you want and DO NOT FORGET A BOB (haha)...because you are going to NEED THEM. It would be better if you do not use panties at all, cause you will be SOAKED all the time

Loving all of Dawn’s work already, this DID.NOT.DISAPPOINT! Right from the first chapter you get your fill of hot sexiness!

So Jenny Sunshine (love the name by the way) is a part time escort, if you will, in Vegas.

Mathis is a big baller, club owner who is opening up one of his famous clubs in Vegas. On his grand opening night, his eyes land on one sexy little redhead that he just has to have.

Jenny’s BF, Nora, drags her to the grand opening of Club Maroon (named for the color but all I can think about was the band) and has quite a few drinks. Ready to go to the bathroom then try and make it out of the club, they get selected to go to the private bathrooms and meet none other than club owner, Mathis Verlinden. After one night, the rest is history right? Yes and no…

So begins the oh-so-complicated or uncomplicated (?) life that changes Jenny Sunshine and Mathis Verlinden! Their story is crazy but not so much if you believe in love at first sight! After just looking at Jenny, Mathis knew she was the one and was determined to keep her in his life by any means necessary haha! But when things from both of their pasts come to stir up some trouble, will their “honeymoon” phase be thrown out the window or can their love guide them through?

Jenny’s a pretty bad ass bitch, taking care of herself – she became a whore for other reasons than your typical daddy issue girls and she really was a strong, confident lady! Until she met Mathis. By no means did she succumb to his European playboy powers, but she did give him a run for his money and loved how their power battle but in the end, they were supportive of one another.

Really enjoyed this story. It was a quick read but had different flavor. Yes he was a brooding billionaire but he had his own secrets. She was a whore but not from having a horrible childhood. They were both great characters and had good supporting characters. Can’t wait to see what happens with Jude and Lori, next in the series!

Since this was a collaboration, I’d love to know who wrote what. Dawn and Jo-Anna did a great job! Different story, great characters and of course, hot sex! Great job ladies!

This book is such a great ride through humor, fun, sexy hero and heroine, twist and turns and a awesome HEA, bloody brilliant!
A modern take on Pretty Woman and its fookin awesome.

Jenny Sunshine is a frickin’ awesome fiery redhead, she is her own person, tells it how it is, she talks straight no messing around, Jenny makes know excuses for the job she has, it is what it is. She not all tough exterior though, all it takes is the right person to show her there are things in life she never knew she wanted until they were put right in front of her.

Mathis Verlinden, bloody hell talk about walking sex, phew, he knows what he wants and goes after it hard. Mathis is very alpha and has a dominant side but he is more than just a bossy male lead, he is totally in love with Jenny which is so very cute, he would give up everything for her.

Mathis and Jenny are two people with dominate personalities and when they get in the same room the sparks fly, Jennifer is no submissive woman so they fight and have disagreements, but hell the sex that follows is scorching hot!, let me tell you the sex is off the charts sexy.
I loved the dynamic between jenny and Mathis and felt they were perfect for each other.

There are some great lines in this book but one of my favorites is from Mathis, “My body vibrated. I think I just fell in love with this bitch.”
There are so many great characters in this book and they all just work together so perfectly, the relationship between Mathis and Dean is cool, then there is the friendship between Nora and Jenny, Nora is such a sweetie, the whole scene with the baby vomit priceless!. I want to know more about these guys and cannot wait for more books.

You would never know that this book is written by two authors, and from two points of view, the words flow and the plot grips you by the balls from start to finish, these ladies ROCK!.

I totally love the hooker finding love concept of this book, this is not you typical romance and im looking forward to more collaborations from Dawn and Jo-Anna.

Uncomplicated by Dawn Robertson and Jo-Anna Walker

Uncomplicated is the story of Mathis and Jennifer. Mathis is a womanizing life-long bachelor who didn’t need anyone in his life except his best friend Dean. He owns many businesses mostly night clubs and has money to spare. He feels something is missing in his life but doesn’t know what. At the opening of his newest club Maroon in Los Vegas he spots Jennifer across the room and he knows instantly what has been missing. Unlike most boy meets girl and fall instantaneously in love, this girl doesn’t want or need any man, well maybe she would take Jude but Jude doesn’t feel the same. She’s perfectly happy with the men she deals with at work.

Follow their journey to see what lengths Mathis will go to, to change Jennifer’s mind. These two are hysterical together with their constant back and forth banter. Their jobs are unconventional and lead to quite a bit of drama and sexy moments. Although this is a unlikely plot I loved it because it’s romantic and erotic and let’s face it that’s why I read fiction. Mathis is a dominant alpha male but Jennifer is no submissive woman. The topping that goes on between the two of them kept me laughing throughout the book and the steamy sex scenes had me running for a cold shower. I recommend having a fire extinguisher handy while you read, it is that hot! Mathis will have you swooning with lines like “My body vibrated. I think I just fell in love with this bitch.” And Jennifer will have you laughing out loud with lines like “Nora, if you don’t stop touching me, I will cut you.” She’s a spitfire! This book also delves into the lives of Mathis and Jennifer’s friends, Jude, Dean, Nora and Lori, which should become books two and three in this series. I highly recommend this book and give it 4.5 stars with 5 hands down the pants.

****ARC Given for a honest review******

From the minute I started this book, I could NOT put it down, and being a mother of a 5 month old that’s HARD! I absolutely adore this book! It’s a modern day tale of Pretty Woman meets What Happens in Vegas except WAY hotter! Let’s talk characters.

We have little Miss Jennifer Sunshine, or Jenny as most people call her, the high paid whore. Typical woman who rebels after growing up in a home of overprotective God fearing parents. Jenny has feelings for one of her clients, and after one night with him and his lady friend she gets her feelings hurt, realizing that she will never be what he wants. So her best friend Nora – who I absolutely love as a supporting character takes her out to a new club, which is where she meets Mathis.

Mathis Verlinden, what can I say about him other than SEX on a STICK! Mathis had me wanting to beg him since Jenny’s little spitfire of a self didn’t want to in the beginning… I found myself panting like I was the one Mathis was talking to. The man oozed power and domination and not normally something I’m into but man Mr. Verlinden can do that all day to me.
Dean – Well he’s Mathis’s best friend and bodyguard, and also he’s sweet on Nora (hope they have a book as well.

Then there’s Jude. What can I say about Jude but other than he’s not very bright. I don’t want to ruin the story for you so I won’t go into detail.
I love how this story is about two complete strangers who have this connection and they know from one look that they are going to be together. They fight and they bicker but at the end of the day they are in love and that’s what matters the most. At the end of the story it really is Uncomplicated.

This book started out pretty good but I was quickly disappointed when it went from fiction to fantasy. Jennifer is a call girl in Vegas who sells herself because she loves it, not for the money. Mathis is a big shot wheeler and dealer who is opening a new club in Vegas. He's never been in a relationship and never wanted one but when he sees Jennifer he instantly decides she's the one. She's had too much to drink and wakes up with him the next day with a wedding ring on her finger. For some reason she stays with him and within a few days they're in love. They both go from being callous, self-centered people to the complete opposite, supposedly because of their love for each other. Jennifer is doing good deeds left and right for prostitutes caught in bad situations. Mathis has left his alpha male tendencies behind to do everything he can to make Jennifer happy. No longer will he be involved with shady deals because he's a NEW MAN! He and his brother, who have been estranged for 15 years, are now "family" and Mathis is anxious to become a father.
Fiction is all about suspending belief but this was way too much for me. I like some drama from real people and unfortunately this book didn't have it.
What is also didn't have was a decent editor. Almost every sentence would switch tense - from past to present or vice versa. There were countless extra commas throughout the whole book. I was so mentally tired of correcting it I barely managed to finish it. I think it was just sheer stubbornness that enabled me to read the whole thing. Definitely won't read the second in the series, if there is one.

Uncomplicated by Dawn Robertson

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The story begins with us meeting Jenny Sunshine, an Irish girl from Kansas who works three days a week from 9 to 5. The rest of her week she has her secret life....a Vegas call girl.

"The Irish that runs through my veins is a fucking curse some days."

I loved Jenny from the moment she was introduced. She is my kind of girl. She says it how it is and her disposition is you can take her or leave her. She says most of her clients have a "douchebagery complex." One of the best descriptions I have ever heard! I may start using this word to describe some guys I know. Once she meets Mathis Verlinden, her life becomes complicated...no longer uncomplicated.

"I wanted to give people what I never had. I was a kind, caring person that way. And greedy all at the same time."

Possible spoiler alert....they end up married after meeting in a club one night. And as she says, "How can you love someone you know nothing about?" Which was my question. But as you continue reading, you find out this works for them.

I thought Dawn did a great job with this book. The chapters change between Jenny's point of view and Mathis' point of view. I believe this transition between characters was a great twist. Not having first hand experience being a male, I thought she described the male point of view pretty accurately. The only issue I had with this book was I felt there were too many "issues" they had to deal with and not enough detail. Because of this I would give this book 4 1/2 stars. But overall I would highly recommend this book as it was a quick and easy read that was very entertaining.

Jennifer “Jenny” Sunshine is a no-nonsense, fiery, and go-getter type of woman. She can’t be tied down by things like marriage and babies. Jenny also works as a high-end escort and loves calling all the shots. When Jenny attends the opening of Club Maroon she doesn’t expect to encounter cocky and suave Mathis Verlinden. Little does Jenny know that her life is about to become VERY complicated and quickly as their paths aren’t going to uncross any time soon…

Jenny and Mathis are very likable characters despite their shady pasts. Both of them are characterized as very selfish and self-centered individuals in the beginning of the book but become better people as they learn love isn’t for fools. The only thing that threw me off in this book was the characters changed way too much throughout the book that it wasn’t realistic. Also, both of them contradict themselves numerous times. Yes, people change but not their core values and core beliefs- or at least in a few days’ time.

An interesting and unique aspect of this book is the authors’ use of the color red. There are numerous references in business names, Jenny’s outfits, and Mathis’ thoughts. Red typically brings to mind blood, passion, violence, and intrigue. The ongoing symbolism of the use of this color added an extra oomph to the story in my opinion.

The erotic scenes in this book are on fire and well-written so be prepared to have your socks knocked off! This is a perfect book to read while soaking in a bubble bath and drinking a Cosmo and I’d recommend it those who enjoy erotic romance with a Vegas twist.

Wow….
This book was a quick & easy read.
& I absolutely loved it! I could not put it down. It had a little bit of everything!

Jenny sunshine is a high class hooker. With dark red hair
& a firecracker attitude! She is a react first listen later kind of girl!
& I loved it. It so fit her! Jenny had a good family life. But she craved
something more than what she could get in Kansas. So she packed up & moved
to Las Vegas. Where she lived by her own rules.

Mathis is a rich man that had to fight & climb his way to the top. Growing up poor & not having
the best family life growing up…. He has a brother Yan… they do not have the
best of relationship. He wished things were different between them.
He left home at a young age & never looked back.
That made him who he is today.
Determined not to ever go back to that kind of life again.

When Mathis first laid eyes on Jenny… he just knew that she was the one!
But the way he did it!!…
That poor girl had no chance!!…lol

Omg…
This book had me laughing at some parts. I loved the way Mathis & Jenny interacted
with each other. I also loved that they both give & take with each other.

There was some drama in the book but just enough… Not overly done.
It is kind of fast past. But I thought it was done well.

I can’t wait for the next book to come out about Jude & Lori’s…but I have a feeling Yan…
is going to be a big part of Lori life!! I hope!!…lol

Wow - this book is certainly not intended for under-18s or readers who are offended by profanity and hot s*x because this book is full of both and is as scorching hot as the summer sun in Las Vegas, where the story is set.

Jennifer is a part-time office worker who pays her bills by also being a call girl - her clients know that if the price is right then just about anything goes. She is in control of her life and that's just how she likes it. She's no longer the protected only child growing up with God-fearing parents in Kansas.

Mathis Verlinden, an Eastern European immigrant, has built up a chain of highly successful nightclubs although some of his other business dealings are not quite so legitimate.

The two meet at the opening night of his newest club in Las Vegas. Jennifer is out with her best friend Nora and, after a few more drinks than she would normally have, she needs to visit the lady's room. Standing in a long queue to use the facilities they are approached by a man who informs them that Mr Verlinden would be happy to offer them the use of his own private facilities if they would care to follow him.

Jennifer wakes up the next morning with the hangover from hell, naked in a strange room, well nearly naked. Where the heck did the wedding ring she was now wearing come from?

What follows is an extremely funny, light-hearted, story as Jennifer and Mathis build a life together.

I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait for the next one in the series!

Till next time ~ Sweets Books

Jennifer Sunshine. Born and raised in Kansas to goody-goody religious parents who think that their daughter is nothing short of an innocent young lady. Something she is anything but. Jenny is a high-priced call girl and very good at what she does. She is proud of it and the business she has created. Money is no object, men are plenty, and she doesn't get attached. Period.

"But this is the life I have chosen to make for myself. I haven’t been forced, or coerced. I am not a victim, I am a fucking badass business woman." ~ Jenny

Mathis Verlinden is a rich nightclub owner. Born and raised in Bulgaria he has had to build himself and his business from the ground up. Early on he found he was very good at getting and keeping what he wants, at any cost. Money and women come easy and he, like Jenny, does not get attached.

"Wait, yes I should be and I earned it. Every dollar, every green, I earned all by myself. Coming from the slums of Bulgaria to North America, the wonderful USA, it was like I was born for this shit. Bred to appease the youth, the young people of today’s society flocked into my clubs where DJs rocked their souls and my staff pumped them full of drinks and food." ~ Mathis

Then one fateful night these two worlds collide and the fireworks are hot and intense!

"The car came to a stop on the ground floor and the doors opened up. I took a step out and walked toward the lobby quickly. I was almost out the doors when a strong arm wrapped around my waist and pulled my small body against his. My heart started beating rapidly." ~Jenny

(ARC received from author in exchange for an honest review)

Don’t think I’ve laughed at a book so much in quite some time. I’m not sure why this book is standing at a 3.75 average rating because I loved it!

Jennifer Sunshine……. Love it; I genuinely thought that was her call girl name but nope. That is her actual name. She is snarky, funny, bitchy, insecure and just plain hilarious to read.

Urm, where can I find me a Mathias? He is one hot, sexy, hunk of a man a DAMN if he doesn’t make me weak at the knees. It’s his take no rubbish attitude and the fact that he goes after what he wants with no apologies.

Dawn and Jo-Anna have done a really good job of balancing the plot line out with the right amount of humour and the one-liners are great. Like I said earlier, I haven’t laughed at a book so much in a good while and it was just what I needed. I had no issue with connecting with the characters or the plot line. I fell in love with Jennifer and Mathias…… Although I would fight Jennifer for Mathias, just saying.

When I heard that Dawn and Jo-Anna we working together on this book I wasn’t sure how I expected it to turn out. Both ladies are successful in their own right but put them together and you have another successful book. Just simply love it.

This is a book I would recommend to anyone looking for a HAWT, funny and real read.

Just to warn this book is melt your Kindle HAWT. Urm…… you may want a cold shower or 3 while reading it also.

I gotta admit I have been in love with Dawn's work since Hers, now I can add Jo-Anna! You have a Jenny Sunshine (Yes my eyebrows quirked up too! LOL ) she is from Kansas and has Bible-Thumping parents. She left Kansas to get away from it all and live her life. Where does she end up and what does she work as? A high-priced call girl. You have Mathis Verlinden he is a VERY sexy club owner, who has a couple of successful clubs around the country. What do Jenny and Mathis have in common? They both LOVE sex, the difference? Jenny gets paid for sex as a living and Mathis just fucks any girl he sees. From the get go sparks fly! The attraction from these two, the chemistry? HOLY SHIZNITZ!!! WOW let me tell you their angry sex was nothing like I have read! JUST OMG OMG!! I do believe I will jump the husband when he gets home tonight! I agree with Randa I wouldn't mind taking all these fine ass men in this book! Mathis can be sweet but when he gets that inner DOM in him going, watch out! OOOHHH WEEE, this book is off the charts scorching with an awesome story line! You wanna know what happens when Jenny gets drunk and is stuck with Mathis? I cannot wait for Pursuit coming out in the summer of 2014!! GO ONE CLICK THIS BOOK NOW!!! I promise you and your significant other will NOT be disappointed! I give these sex freaks 5+++++++ stars!! ~Chris ;)

I absolutely loved this book! I loved the sexual chemistry between Jenny and Mathis, it was so Steamy and Electrifying that I found myself getting butterflies at their passion! This book is like Pretty Woman on Steroids! You get the Wealthy Business Man and The Call Girl but the sex scenes will take your imagination to its most Erotic places and have even the most experienced of lovers Blushing!

I loved Jenny's character and her no hold barred, in your face, take it or leave it attitude. I liked that even though she was a Call Girl, she was still looking for love and someone that she could settle down with.
I like how Mathis saw what he wanted and went after it! Yeah, maybe it wasn't the right way to do it but, he accomplished what he set out to do and that is one of the things that makes Mathis So Freakin' Hot!

I will definitely continue to read more books form these Authors, they are AMAZING!

Jennifer leads a life more would pity her for, but she does it for the fun of it. Living in Vegas there are some things you know better than to EVER do and getting drunk is one of them. But when she forgets that big rule things get crazy for her fast. What happens when you can't remember the night before?

Mathis knows something is missing in his life, but he doesn't know what until he sees Her. Firey red head he'll do anything to get and keep, even a crazy extreme. Sometimes fate steps in to help you when you didn't know you needed it. Can two crazy characters really be ment for each other or will their hard heads get in the way?

Jenny is feisty, loud, and truely one of a kind. She's the kind of woman who knows what she wants and screw anyone who gets in her way. Loved hearing her tell it like it is. Mathis is an alpha male and when he sees Jenny he does anything and everything to make sure he gets to keep her forver, he sees something in her that he can't live without and screw anyone who tries to tell him otherwise, espically Her.

Fun short read with great lead characters, and some fun additional characters who keep you guessing as to whats gonna happen. Excited to see more of this series.

"When people think of call girls, they think of whores. Emotionally ruined little girls with some sort of daddy complex, aching to compensate for something missing in their lives. For a good portion of the girls I have met, this is a pretty on point assumption; but for me, it couldn't be any further from the truth."

Jennifer "Jenny" Sunshine works as a high-end escort and doesn't have time for marriage or babies. However, that is all about to change when she locks eyes with rich & cocky Mathis Verlinden at the grand opening of his newest club, Club Maroon.

Jenny and Mathis enter into a dance for power and both grow from reprehensible beings to decent beings after they discover their love for one another. One issue with this book, that I feel detracts from the story, is the inconsistency of the characters' character. They contradict themselves numerous times throughout the book and it becomes hard to get an overall sense of just who they are.

However, I enjoyed the story and it had enough hot scenes to keep me on my toes. This is the perfect book to read while sipping a Cosmo and relaxing.

****Received ARC for honest review*******

I have been a fan of Dawn Roberson's for awhile. I have all of her books but can honestly say I have not read them. I am now kicking myself in the butt for not reading any of her books sooner. With that said I am very glad that Uncomplicated was the first book I read.

I love Jennifer Sunshine. It's refreshing to read about a women who doesn't have 50 problems from her childhood that she is dealing with. She just is who she is. And she is a normal girl who works a regular job. But she also has a very naughty side.

O sexy sexy Mathis Verlinden. He thinks he has everything he could ever want but when he see's Jennifer for the first time he knows that he would give up every thing he has ever worked for to have her. And once he gets her, he does whatever he has to do to keep her and keep her safe from ex-men in her life.

There is passion, love and lots and lots of very HOT sex. I hope that Dawn writes another book about Jennifer and Mathis. But also writes about Dean and Nora.

I really liked how this book was very original and unlike any other book I've read. I think both authors did a really great job taking two somewhat unusual characters and turning them into very normal people that I really ended up loving.

Jennifer Sunshine was such a great character. She was a very strong woman who always stood up for herself and always says how she feels. And Mathis...how could someone not love the sexy and sweet Mathis Verlinden? But they weren't the only great characters in this book...Jenny's friends Nora and Lori, Mathis' bodyguard Dean, and Jude (who I'm in a love/hate relationship with right now).

I think these authors left this book open to so many possibilities. I am a little intrigued by Jude's story so I am hoping that they give us a look into his life, hint hint ;)

I am very happy to have been given a chance to read this book. I am a huge fan of Dawn Robertson and her books and I am so happy that I've been introduced to Jo-Anna Walker now also. These are definitely two authors that you don't want to miss.

Uncomplicated proved to be an enjoyable and entertaining read. It took me a little while to warm up to the book and the characters, but after four chapters, I settled into the pace.

Uncomplicated is more that a sex story. Don't get me wrong, it's a hot and sexy read, but the characters are well-defined and developed. With the strong and very vocal characters, Uncomplicated held its own as a solid novel within the contemporary erotic romance genre.

There's was an interesting and entertaining storyline and the dynamics between the two main characters were fabulously funny. The authors have managed to create three-dimensional characters for sure.

Note: I had a reviewer copy filled with quite frustrating editing issues; I'm hoping this has been fixed since publication.
