Lisa Cach grew up in a farm near Portland, Oregon, a place she loves although she'd always trying to leave it. Wanderlust has led her to sail the Sargasso Sea, teach English in Japan, and trek the leech-infested jungles of Borneo. She has degrees in both English and psychology, two subjects that were fun to learn about but that guaranteed her low-paying jobs. Her father, she admits, may have been right about the MBA.
Lisa started to writing romances in her parents' basement during snatched moments from work. Since her writing career began her free time has become less and less as her novels become more and more popular. She's loved romance novels since Junior High School, and at least now she doesn't have to worry about getting caught reading one. Lisa married, and bought with her husband a home in Seattle, Washington. She describes her personal paradise as "...a pile of books, a plate of brownies, and the free time in which to enjoy them".
The Erotic Secrets of A French Maid by Lisa Cach is her best book yet. Seductively erotic, delightfully sensuous and get the depends laugh out loud funny, this is a book not to miss.
Emma Mayson is a long tall drink of water that is beautiful in every way possible. Problem is is that she is insecure but doesn't realize just how deep that insecurity is embedded within her. She is extremely intelligent and quite creative when she puts her mind to it.
Russell Carrick is wealthy, handsome and more of a hermit workaholic than he realizes. He's athletic and sensitive, attentive to even the slightest detail, he's every woman's dream of the perfect mate.
What starts out so innocently when Emma shows up at Russ's house to be his house cleaner turns into one of the funniest shove your foot in your mouth scenes that I have had the pleasure of reading.
On the first day of the job cleaning Russell Carrick's home Emma finds out that he is as his sister has said. He's a workaholic slob that lives in only a few of the many rooms of his large home. Dirty dishes in the sink, dirty stinky laundry in the bathroom, and an office that looks like it was hit by a tornado, Russ is your typical bachelor.
It doesn't take long before life really starts taking a turn for the worse for Emma. Her best friend and room mate decides to move in with her boyfriend thus leaving Emma without help in paying the rent and other bills. She also can't find herself a job in her field as no one will hire someone without experience. All the balls seem to fall at one time and Emma thinking she is alone in Russ' house breaks down and cries.
Russ finds Emma crying and attempts to comfort her and then they start a conversation that will lead them to a league of misunderstandings that will make you laugh so hard that you really ought to have the bathroom close by because you're going to be laughing so hard that you are going to need tissues for the tears and the potty so you don't pee your pants.
This author has gone way above board to give us a novel of such off the wall, pee your pants hysterics, love, erotica and creativeness that this novel should be on every ones Sultry Summer reading list.
Strapped for cash after an unsuccessful search for her dream job in architecture, Emma Mayson takes a less-than glamorous position as a maid for a wealthy entrepreneur. The bright spot? Her new employer, Russell Carrick, is the picture of male perfection—his mere presence sends Emma reeling. But he’s also a total workaholic who has lost his zest for living. Or did he just misplace it? Emma sets aside her feather duster and her inhibitions to find out. Soon a transitory house-cleaning gig becomes a cushy role of well-paid mistress, as Emma rekindles her employer’s passion with a fantasy world of boundless pleasure. But then the unthinkable happens: She falls for Russell. Having already fulfilled his primal desires, can she make him see her as more than a plaything?
This was a fun and light read. The plot is based on a huge misunderstanding and how things evolve from there. Unwilling to have Emma clean his house Russell offers her a house to stay and money if she'll cook for him. She believes he wants to have sex with him (which she had mentioned earlier has her dream job) and accepts.
Although one has to suspend one's disbelief I thought this could be the beginning of a comedy of errors with some funny moments. However a big part of it is about the sex they have which although important for the action led to skim those scenes. I wanted more witty dialogue. Not bad - it was still light and funny - just not particularly remarkable.
i thought the book was funny and erotic, from beginning to the end. Emma is very funny and Russ idoesnt stay behind, this book is a book i can read over again. ILove this book and so will you. Its a must read!
I confess that I only read five pages of this book before I started flipping through the pages. In my opinion, the primary characters were clichés. I also felt that there was too much "telling" and not enough "showing" in the writing style. When that happened in the first five pages, I didn't feel like reading the rest of the book. While I flipped through the rest of the book, I only scanned a few paragraphs so I have no idea if the titillating title is true or not. I wouldn't recommend this book to any of my friends.
This is the first time I read any of this author books. I really liked the book, it was easy to read. Without to many characters. I like the way there were some funny parts. A good story line. I enjoy that this book focused mainly to the main characters. I have read a few reviews about the title of book. Which seemed misleading, which I thought the title was good. Fitting to the book. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
