We have been loving this one! Each day of the year has a new animal to learn about with a short description, size, eating habits and fun facts. A really great starting point for further conversation and investigation (we love looking up videos of the feature animal to see them in real-life action); lots of information included at the back about which animals are endangered and conservation efforts we can make.
It's a shame there isn't a cover image here because the illustrations are so well done

Divided into the twelve months, this book presents a description of one animal a day that includes a brief description with listed scientific information including mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, amphibians, insects, worms, and arachnids. Many are familiar to readers and others will be less familiar. The book ends with descriptions of endangered animals, conservation successes, a quiz, glossary, and index.

AMAZING animal fact book for kids. A little blurb about an animal every day. Great art and very informative. Short enough it doesn't feel like a chore reading it every day. Out of 14 animals we've read, there's been 1 I haven't heard of, which is amazing since my degree is in zoology.

I didn't read this whole thing because it's a Library book, but just speed reading it was amazing. I love the art work and the format so much. Just bought my own, and the dinosaur one too, on Amazon.

This was fine. Interesting tidbits, but the organization of which animals were in each section was a little confusing, and we did find several inaccuracies 🙃 (homeschooler alert!)
One of our daily read alouds during the school year.

Do you have plans for 2024? Plenty of people make resolutions, some they stick with, others they give up on. It's the intention that counts so can I suggest a resolution, a habit to get into? Reading, everyday.
I know you might be wondering if this is possible, well with An Animal A Day I think you might find yourself wondering why you never did this before and I think I can guarantee the daily read, the information gathering will be lots of fun!
Learning about an animal everyday is going to take you on a journey all the way around the world to meet some, quite simply, astonishing animals - from peacock worms to the Aye-Aye (a type of lemur) and the flying dolphins of the ocean travel through the year, month-by-month, day-by-day and find your eyes opened to an astounding world of animals.
