Workaholic Tsuda Akane is slowly learning the ins and outs--and ins and outs--of living with a sex android. She's even begun to consider formally registering herself as Nadeshiko's master. But when Akane's childhood friend Jun arrives for a surprise visit, things rapidly spiral out of control! First, Jun declares that she's loved Akane since they were kids. And before she can even react, Nadeshiko does the unthinkable and declares that she's Akane's fiancee!
I wasn’t very fond of Jun at first, as I’m not a fan of Lolis, especially when they’re used as love rivals. But when Nadeshiko offered for them to be a poly... didn’t find the idea too bad actually. Why not. Although they’re age gap is pretty large, and they’ve known each other since they were really small (*), polycules still are quite underrated, or rather, underrepresented. So, yea, in that sense it’d be cool, and Nadeshiko’s imagination of their threesome actually looked good...
However, when Jun was hiding in the closet (ha, I see what you did there, author) and listening to their conversation purposefully to find things out... nah man. Not a fan of eavesdropping, especially when it’s because of jealousy.

(*): Idk, technically childhood friends to lovers isn’t bad, but all the memory flashbacks to when they were young (and especially Nadeshiko’s lewd imaginations) is a bit uncomfortable...

I first continued this to find out what Nadeshiko’s “mother” wants and all that, but honestly, that woman has become so annoying, that I’d rather she just left them alone. Also maybe because I’m not a fan of that third-party-therapist trope, when the couple could resolve things if they just talked with each other. Well, it’s not like they don’t talk, but in this case I don’t like her “mother’s” ideas and the way she’s 24/7 stalking Akane... is she secretly in love with her and seeing her do it with a sex-robot is what turns her on? Or is Akane really just nothing but a test person for her career, basically? Idk, but I hope this won’t turn out a romance. Stalking tropes are just... nope.
Usually I like a good childhood friend trope, but for this manga series I didn’t really care for it. While I like that Jun was used to give Nadeshiko some romantic competition, I feel like her romantic efforts should’ve ended the first time that Akane said she doesn’t see the younger woman as a potential lover; and Akane has either said it or heavily hinted at not seeing Jun romantic several times in this volume. Something I really liked was seeing Nadeshiko start to reevaluate her dynamic with Akane a bit. She’s not wanting to be burden while needing maintenance time and she’s wondering what exactly she wants out of her time with Akane outside of just being a sex robot. That overall aspect of this story is what I’m eager to continue reading and hope gets further explored in the next volume.
I was enjoying this series until the blatant “fake” flashback scene of a minor in an inherently sexual situation. If you’ve read it you’ll know what I mean. So disappointing for this series! I loved this series for its kinky charm and because the main character was a clear adult. Why ruin it with inexcusable scenes that are down right predatory. I know it’s normalized.. but it is NOT okay.
Won’t be reading more of this series :(

Flashbacks ruined it completely. The age gap wouldn’t have been that bad if it didn’t show the flashbacks, and if Jun wasn’t so childish and clearly portrayed as such. I had a look of disgust on my face anytime Jun was involved. Could’ve taken the poly route, with an old friend Jun, WITHOUT showing her as a child playing with Akane’s breats???
Not a big fan of the “persistent” trope especially when someone has given very set boundaries but I am fascinated by seeing Nadeshiko’s maker more and the ending!
