This short story was needed to completely wrap everything up, and the events here are a satisfying ending for this silo. Greatfall and The Book Of Matthew are both awesome additions to the Wool universe.
Lazy effort on the author's part. Could have been a great story, potential is there. Really intrigued by his GREATFALL. I had expected the same, but dissatisfied.
I started reading WOOL fan fiction about one year ago when Kindle Worlds had yet to come. I read most of the first wave of it, The Runner by Wes Davies, The Silo Archipelago by Michael Bunker, The Veil by Will Swardstrom and many others but Greatfall was probably my favorite, it is the most peculiar as Jason Gurley took the Silo world and made its own version, the less canonical in many ways. I admit at that time I wondered about the fate of Matthew but after so many months I did not expect this, most welcome, short story. I think that telling if it is a satisfying ending is up to each reader, someone would even prefer it had not been told. Maybe I'd have ended it differently but this return to Silo 23 was worth every single reading minute.
I was so happy when I read that this additional short story of Greatfall was released, and I was not let down. Jason Gurley has a terrific way of character writing that makes me not want the story to ever end. Make sure you check out his book The Man Who Ended The World! It is one of my all time favorite books!
I was so excited to read an addition to Jason Gurley's Greatfall. Although a short read this story creates a wonderful perspective on the character Matthew. I really enjoyed finding out what happened, which gave me some more closure.
If you have read Greatfall I recommend reading The Book of Matthew straight after to complete your reading experience.
I didn't think Greatfall could be improved upon but Matthew's story proved me wrong. This provided the perfect ending and was so beautifully written that I found myself feeling sorry for Matthew as his tale unfolded (what a surprise). Thank you Jason for all your wonderful stories!
Mr. Gurley this piece was simply amazing! I have to say I loved the first 2 installments of Great fall but didn't really love the last part. this is a Fitting end to the story.
