Similar to The Monster at the End of this Book!, Shake to Assemble encourages child participation for a minimal story line. While not too exciting for the adult reading the book, my 4 year olds loved it!

Big fan of this one! Lots of fun actions for kids to stay interested and engaged. I think I can adapt the actions for storytime so I will try it for a superhero theme.

EDIT: This went SO WELL at storytime. The kids just loved it!!

Little Avenger fans will enjoy this interactive book. Following Hawkeye’s directions traders will tap and shake the Avengers into action. Basic concepts of up and down, right and left add to the learning experience. The Avenger characters react to the readers actions to make this fun and add to the experience of wonder of the Avengers. This book is brilliant! It's absolutely perfect for my three year old, who isn't quite old enough for superhero violence but is REALLY into the characters. We read it together two or three times, and he remembers enough to be able to "read" it to himself!

This book went well because at the time I read it, there were only 2 boys there. I let them do everything the book asked, and they had a lot of fun with it. It probably wouldn't have done as well with a bigger group.

This book was so much fun for the grandchildren and I got a kick out of it also. It is an interactive book because in order to get each member of the superhero team together with the group, the book instructs the readers to do different things such as rotate the book counterclockwise.

Oh my! The younger kids are going to LOVE this book! I ordered it for my grandloves immediately after reading. Both hubby and I were following the directions to shake, poke, yell, turn, etc.
