A unique and interesting collection of color photos depicting a variety of warbird nose art. Over 1,000 wartime photos show art work close up, with explanations of art, aircraft, and pilots.
I had first bought a copy of this book as a present for a fellow nose-art/pin up fan, after flipping through it I decided that I would buy myself a copy as well. There is only a minimal amount of text, and some of it is wrong, but that seems to be an issue with many historic photo books, so I would not count that against the book. I am mostly interested in the art and images as a model plane builder, it serves as inspiration for decals, so for that or as a casual interest in airplane art this is a good book. If, however, you are looking for in-depth information on the artist, planes and/or history this is not the right book. Luckily this is an affordably priced book, so you will be able to fill out your collection.
World War II and Korea War art aircraft nose. Existed in today's time. People would find it inappropriate and disrespectful. Lots of these young poliots. Sacrificed their lives. Protecting our country and freedom.
The book contain collection of the art, which one could find on the military aircraft in WW2 and Korean War. Sadly this book is only USA aircrafts, which is kind of pity. However the art adoring planes brings the spirit of the long gone vehicles and men. Some of them are pin up girls, other popular cartoons or other funny pictures. It is must have in bookshelf. By the way the pro artist like Vargas and Brinkman were behind some very nice pieces.
