An alien insists I’m his fated mate. And after we escape a deadly alien game called the labyrinth, he says he’s keeping me.
This deal was supposed to be simple. Take a shuttle to the space station. Connect with an alien in need of Slaking—their term, not mine. One week between the furs with no hearts involved, something I’m determined to avoid after being burned. I’ll return to Earth, and nine months from now? I’ll deliver a scaly bundle of joy.
Right.
Instead, Krek and I are captured by big alien spiders and thrown into a deadly, underground tunnel game called the labyrinth. The spiders tell us we're free to go if we survive the challenge.
Krek insists we'll escape the labyrinth. He says I'll soon have a child on the way. He also says I'm his fated mate.
And he's not returning me to Earth...
Alien Hunter’s Fate is Book 3 in the Fated Mates of the Xilan Warrior Series. This book has aliens who look and act alien, steamy romance, and a guaranteed happily ever after. This series is best when read in order.
AVA ROSS fell for men with unusual features when she first watched Star Wars, where alien creatures have gone mainstream. She lives in New England with her husband (who is sadly not an alien, though he is still cute in his own way), her kids, and assorted pets, including a yorkie pup and three cats.
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: ❤️💙💜💚 Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙 World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌍🌎 Character development: 😠☺️😋😍 Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration Type: Dual Narration
The heroine:Rose - Rose is good friends with Avery and Lydia from the first two books in the series. She wants a baby but not a man. She had been married before and caught her husband Bob cheating on her with a neighbor. He blamed her for being boring in bed. Though she really was never interested in being more adventurous with Bob. She wouldn’t mind it with someone else though. Maybe an alien.
The Hero:Krek - he is a Xilan hunter and warrior. He has issues since he feels tremendous guilt for letting down his family and thinks he is responsible for their deaths. He is soon going in to his slaking and doesn’t want to find love, because he doesn’t think he deserves it. So he is determined to find any woman that appeals to him and slake his desires for a week and be done with it.
The Story: A virus spread across the planet and made most of the men from earth Sterile. Meanwhile across the stars in another galaxy, the males of Xilan were at war with a large spider like race of aliens and most of their female population was decimated. The males of Xilan go into a sort of heat which they call “Slaking” for one week every three years. They contacted earth and proposed a solution to both their problems. The males of Xilan while they are fertile during their slaking will meet the females from earth who want children, and each will have their needs met.
Krek feels possessive about Rose from the beginning. He feels from the start that she is his fated mate when a mate bond symbol appears on his hand. Rose is a very small woman and Krek is really protective of her and wants to do a better job at keeping her safe than he did for his family.
This series is pretty formulaic about how the couples get together and start to get to know each other when the spider aliens attack the space port. Though from there each couple goes on a different adventure. This couple, like the two in the last book, got to the escape pods and were moving towards the moons nearest the space station, when this couple went off to one moon and the other couple ended up on a different moon. Though both moons are full of dangerous creatures.
This book is told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Felicity Munroe and Stephen Dexter. I genuinely like the narration done by these two. I like both of their voices and they both do a terrific job at doing multiple voices for the different characters and their opposite gender voices don’t bother me at all.
Fated Mates of the Xilian Warriors is a 4 book series. The basis is set in the future, where all of Earth’s men have become infertile due to a virus. Sperm banks still exist, which contain fertile sperm from before the viral extinction crisis that left men infertile, but only the wealthiest of humans can afford the deteriorating supply. Xilian is an alien race whose males go through a week-long heat period called a “Slaking”, where they are the most fertile, and can do nothing but f*ck. They don’t have enough females after an attack from Yuris to quench their thirst or feed their needs, so they’ve made an arrangement with Earth and it’s females; in exchange for 1 weeks time of catering to the Xilian’s sexual needs, they get to leave with a pregnancy. Everything is free and strictly a volunteer deal, which offers plenty of volunteers desperate for babies. During the courting, the space station is attacked by the enemy Yuris, which are giant space spiders, and all hell breaks loose. These four books follow four human female friends who volunteered together and their 4 selected mates.
Alien Hunter’s Fate is book 3 in this series, and follows the human female Rose and her alien mate Krek. Rose is a 29 year old divorced High School Science teacher who wants a child. Krek is a scarred alien hunter who blames himself for the death of his family simply because he was absent (which is so dumb). He doesn’t think he is deserving of a mate, or future with a family. Rose is still scarred from catching her ex husband in bed with her neighbor. The Xilians are tall and blue with scales, a tail, fangs and horns. When the Yuris attacked the space station, this couple successfully make it to an escape pod. (I was happy to see that the author didn’t bother reexplaining the same details that were well covered in the previous 2 books regarding the initial attack.) Unfortunately, the Yuris were waiting on the moon Drundar before their escape pod landed, and they swarmed and captured the couple. Apparently, the Yuris had overtaken Drundar without the Xilian’s knowledge. Vikar and Rose were thrown into “the labyrinth” after Rose damaged the group’s leader, which was a form of entertainment for the Yuris. They would be set free if they escaped the labyrinth alive, only none have succeeded thus far. At some point, they stumbled across a cavern that didn’t appear to be touched by the Yuris. Inside was a room with 6 aliens inside tubes, appearing to be in stasis. The room next to that had a giant pyramid. Inside the pyramid was laid out like a house. Another room was filled with greenery, complete with an underground river and fresh fruit. After days worth of relaxation and slaking, Rose wakes and frees the 6 sleeping aliens (Areskars) before befriending them. Just under 80% way through, when the two are close to escaping the labyrinth, the Yuris captured them yet again. Krek agrees to participate in a gladiator fight type of event in exchange for Rose being safe. During the final battle, Krek is challenged with killing one of the Areskar. He refused, and the Areskar saved the day, killing all the Yuris. Of course, the relationship between Krek and Rose blossoms throughout the adventure, and she chooses to live happily ever after with Krek opposed to returning to Earth.
There was a decent amount of “spice” throughout the adventure. Along with witty dialogue. Although , it didn’t finally start warming up until the 40% point in the book. Krek and Avery find a cavern in the middle of the labyrinth that has a river and forest full of vegetation, where they have “tail sex.” Call me crazy, but that sounds completely unsanitary. I mean… he may as well stick his dirty food inside her vagina. Ew, gross. Can we say “yeast infection?” When a Xilian finds their bonded mate, each party is magically given a matching wrist tattoo. That’s how they know a being is their fated mate. And of course, each pair in this series is presented with such bond. Krek and Avery’s appeared immediately upon meeting each other, but don’t seem to notice it until the end of the book? The Xilian species is able to tuck their cocks inside their lower abdomen for protection, so they appear to have Barbie genitalia, until they pull it out of their “cock pocket.” Both parties “lock together” after sex, a lot like dogs, once ejaculation has been completed. Their penis has an appendage that inserts the female womb through the cervix, ensuring the sperm finds the egg. Talk about guaranteed pregnancy, lol. The original contract stated the female could return for another’s slaking if a pregnancy wasn’t achieved the first time around, though I don’t know how that outcome could’ve been possible unless she didn’t drop an egg during ovulation.
The adventure-to-romance ratio was slightly imbalanced, but I enjoyed the ride none the less. I was a little irritated when the Yuris captured them inside the labyrinth without an explanation. Weren’t they supposed to be freed when they finished? It was all rather confusing, but whatever. Most of the book was more far-fetched than just aliens being real. I was half shocked there weren’t mermaids and fairies written among everything else that was confusing and out of place. I guess it was a pleasant read for the most part, once you can wrap your head around overcomplicated scenery; I recommend it. Onto the next book…

Thus is one of my must get authors for just the reason. The world building and character stories are so wonderfully done. I love that the books intertwine but not enough that each has to be read in order.

Another great story in the Fated Mates of the Xilan Warriors series. The story has it all - great characters, humor, alien bad guys, and a hot love story. Best to read the series in order.

This is an OK sci-fi alien romance, but I did have a few issues with it. It gets 3 stars from me.
This series should definitely be read in order, beginning with Alien Commander's Mate, as each book builds on the overarching plot. It might be difficult to understand, and would certainly not be as enjoyable, if the books were read out of order.
The basic plot of the series is that Rose and her friends agreed to have sex with alien Xilan men, because they wanted children (and most human men were infertile). The Xilan men went into heat every 3 years (called slaking), during which time they needed to have a lot of sex, and it was the only time they were fertile. Their agreement was to spend a week with a Xilan man, to satisfy his need for slaking and to get the woman pregnant.
I thought this book was too short to have as much character development as I like. I would have liked a little more backstory on both Krek and Rose.
Rose was likable enough, but I thought her calm acceptance of being attacked by giant spider-like aliens was a bit unbelievable. I get that she had no choice but to deal with it, but most women would have been so panicked that they wouldn't have been able to run or fight very well. I did like that she found ways to help Krek fight, even though she had no weapons or battle training.
Krek was likable, and it was sad that he blamed himself for the death of his family. I liked that he recognized that Rose was his fated mate immediately, but didn't try to push her into a lifetime mating. I also liked that Rose helped him see that his family's death was not his fault.
I thought the part of them being "knotted" together after sex, but still running from their attackers, was a little weird. I get that a Xilan man would stay turned on as long as he was "slaking", but I found it hard to believe that a human woman would find it sexy to be knotted together with a man while they were running for their lives.
I didn't really believe that Krek and Rose were in love, especially at first. They were definitely in lust, though.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
This is a fantastic story! It’s well written with amazing characters, world building and storyline. This book focuses on Rose and Krek and their time together. There’s danger all around, action, strange new creatures, running for their lives and a happily ever after ending.
Rose has travelled to the space station to mate with an alien male for a week, he has a female for his slaking and Rose gets a baby. Easy right? Wrong. The space station is attacked by spider creatures and everyone has to abandon ship. Rose and Kreks escape pod takes them to a moon that was abandoned after a terraforming attempt that left the beings their dead. When they land the spider aliens are there ready to attack and though Krek tells Rose to run she doesn’t and they are both caught. They are taken underground and put into the Labyrinth. They go through hell and back trying to survive but they eventually find a place that looks to be undiscovered. There are beings in pods and strange technology and a pyramid that looks to be the creatures home. They settle in for a few days and pass the time gett8ng steamy. When Rose hears murmuring from the tanks she accidentally lets the creatures out. They are captured by the spider aliens and Krek is put into an arena to fight for their lives. They are saved by the creatures who kill the spider aliens, who then disappear. Krek finds the Xilan bunker and they are able to call for help. Rose decides she wants to stay with Krek forever but isn’t sure whether he wants her. Rose is his true mate though and he will go through anything and anyone to keep her safe and with him forever. He just needs to ask her.

💫 “Take all I have and then some. It’s yours to claim. Yours forever.” ~~~ I really liked Rose - she’s sweet, kind and so caring. I loved her sassiness and that she could find humor in even the most dire situations. And she’s such a brave woman to face all the dangers in the labyrinth.
Krek is absolutely magnificent! I just love aliens with scales, horns and a naughty tail! He’s a fierce Xilan warrior - strong, honorable, protective and commanding. And beneath all that badassness is a sweet, fun, charming and caring male.
I loved the development of their relationship. Both were so emotionally damaged and had to go through a lot. I loved every step of their journey towards healing, happiness and love. And I loved their banters and teasing - those two were such fun! Rose and Krek were a truly perfect match and a wonderfully passionate couple.
In addition, the worldbuilding and the storyline were amazing! I loved that we got to explore the dangerous moon Drundar and all the discoveries were so unexpected and the non-stop action and twists continued till the very last page.
Overall, the story is another fantastic addition to the series. It’s filled with fast-paced action, suspense, danger, humor, adventure, steamy romance and magnificent characters.
I couldn’t put it down and loved every page of it! ~ I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am happy to leave a review.
Rose and her friends have gone to unusual lengths to become mothers. After a disease made all human men infertile, there was little hope for the human race until they were contacted by an alien race called the Xilan. Xilan's had lost most of their females and Xilan warriors go through a sexual heat every three years called the Slaking when they are fertile. The Xilan want human women to volunteer to help the warriors through their slaking for a week and in return the women will probably go home pregnant. Rose and her friends are in the first group of volunteers. Rose had just been chosen by Krek and were about to go someplace private when the space station was attacked by aliens that are viciious spider looking aliens. Krek and Rose fight their way to an escape pod and land on an abandoned moon only to find more spiders there. They are trapped and forced to undergo a punishment ritual. They will have to run the labyrith. If they survive and escpae they will be free but no one has ever won.
Krek was unsure about mating with a human woman but just seeing Rose changes his mind. She looks small and fragile but he realizes she is his destined mate. He worries about not being worthy of her since he feels guilty about his family dying and blames himself. He is determined to keep his fragile Rose safe but she quickly teaches him she is no fragile flower. He knows that the contract says that she is his only for a week but he wants her for all time.
I really enjoyed Rose and Krek’s alien-human, fated mates romance with a side of dangerous games. A disease has made human males infertile. Xilan, a race of aliens, has a Slaking that lasts a week every three years when they are fertile and in heat. Their species does not have enough women. So a trade program is worked out. Human women who volunteer get babies and the Xilan get to slake their lust. Rose is a petite human who is a divorced school teacher. She and her three friends volunteer in order to get pregnant. Krek is a Xilan hunter and spy. After Rose and Krek are matched but before the slaking can begin, the evil Yuris attack the space station and they are forced to flee to a nearby moon. To find their way to their HEA, Rose and Krek will need to deal with the slaking while escaping the Yuris’ deadly labyrinth game. While the true mate symbol showed up immediately, I love how Rose and Krek’s relationship deepened and developed organically as they worked together to escape. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline woven into good world building as shown through sweet moments, steam, dangerous situations, alien physiology and cultures, true mates, coincidences, plot twists, painful pasts, and laughs. I am looking forward to reading more in the series.
I laughed while reading this so much. I pictured Krek all dressed up like Indiana Jones (he wasn't) and Rose in the old-fashioned beige trousers and cream blouse (she wasn't either) running from the huge rock pinball thing. I have loved all of these Xilans but I have to say that Krek is a very sweet one. He carries the burden of fighting elsewhere when his home planet was attacked. He lost all of his family and any lightness in his life. He has been beating himself up over it ever since, blaming himself when he could not really have changed things. He feels unworthy to have a chance to Slake and yet when he sees Rose for the first time he feels like has been blessed. Can he stand to loose yet another loved one especially one who is his mate. Rose, while still hurting from horrid comments from her equally horrid ex has decided that she is not going to wait around. She is going to take a chance at a family even if that chance comes with bluew scales, horns and something called Slaking. She is claimed by Krek and spedning even the short time with him before the Yuris attack the station she sees all her preconceived ideas about the Xilan blown away. Will she survive the crash into the nearby moon, in truth will she survive Krek?
Wait - I didnt mean to imply the first two books weren't good. On the contrary, they were exciting and sweet, but neither really hit the levels of connectivity, mutual trust and respect, and real intimacy Krek and Rose did. They battled together, forged together, and trusted each other without having full-on sex first. They got to maybe third base, but their predicament of being used for entertainment and fighting for their lives together helped them forge a bond. Also, Krek had quite a sense of humor, and with Rose being one smart scientist, their banter and conversations were more than simply entertaining. It helped them survive, and made them very valuable allies after Rose and Krek communicated they were not hostile toward the beings Rose set free from stasis. After Krek refused to fight those aliens in the Yuris arena, and he and Rose were threatened with giant flying gnat-like creatures, the aliens they had defended literally save them.
The informative epilogue was awesome and very satisfying. It made me happy. Four stars!
This done in one Kindle Unlimited quick read is part of a series, as such, instead of retreading the events when four friends were separated it is mentioned enough to give an understanding of what happened, but to 'feel the experience' I'd recommend making sure you've read the first story in the series. For this most part, this story stands well alone -- and is written with a fantastic sense of humor and tone.
Krek didn't feel deserving of a second chance, but he could easily honor a contract to father a child. Rose was burned, emotionally, by her ex-husband, but still wants a child, and fortunately theirs a way for everyone to get what they want.
I loved the humor in this story, and found the desire to find the laugh, and lighten tense moments easy to relate to. Additionally, Rose may not look like the one you need going into this survivor situation, but both brain and brawn are required to deal with many situations, and that played out nicely in this story.
3.5 - 4 stars I enjoy sci fi romance as anything goes.
Earth women who want babies find aliens to help them fulfill their goal only they find love along the way. The women find new worlds—the men find mates entering into arrangements that they never thought they would find.
There is action as wars break out and tension as these women navigate their newfound lives. Emotions run high as they confront their circumstances, dealing with the conflicting feelings of fear, hope, and longing. The presence of strong alpha males adds another layer, as they vie for the attention of these Earth women, leading to moments of romance and interesting encounters.
Amidst the challenges, there’s also an undercurrent of playful interactions, as the women learn to assert their own identities and desires in this strange new world. Overall, it’s a captivating blend of love, action, and adventure that keeps you engaged from beginning to end.
What a simply wonderful adventure into outer space. Where the Yuris - spider like aliens are trying to take over the earth and any other race so they can impregnate the females so they can breed a new army to take over the galaxy. Krek and Rose meet at a space station where the women from earth are contracted to sleep with the Xilan males during their slacking, which only happens every three years.
With most of their females having perished when the Yuris captured them. They meet a new alien race while trying to escape the Yuris. There is non stop action throughout this story and of course the hot steamy moments between Krek and Rose. I just couldn’t put my book down till the very last page.

This is the third take in the Xilan warrior series. Rose just wants to have a baby that why she agreed to go with her friends to the slaking. When she encounters Krek she feels an attraction she never thought she would. Krek, didn't have high hopes he just wanted to take care of his soaking period and move on until he took one look at Rose and new she was his heart mate. When the spiders attack they escape in a lie and lab on one of the surrounding moons in my not be captured and thrown in a labyrinth game to the death. This is a non stop adventure filled with enough action too keep you in the edge of your seat and passion that will beat a cold winters night. Highly recommend!🔥💖🔥💖💖💖🔥🔥🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥
Huh?? Why good reads are you doing me like this? I wrote a review. or did I? What the Tigf is going on here? LOL Excuse me sir no. OK, I sort of want to make it brief and not just spew out the regular verbiage "Love it so much" or "couldn't put it down"...etc. But it's all true, loved reading the story of This Xilian warrior and his fated mate have escaped from their space station to a safer place in ordered to be rescued. The plan is to land there and find shelter and reach out to his home planet and government and seek rescue. But, the safe planet sisn't so safe after all. They must survive the labyrinth his enemies have created in order to leave. Can they do it? if you love adventure, alpha hero's and heroines willing to help out and not just stand their. This is your book.
Alien Hunter’s Fate [Fated mates of Xilan Warriors Book 3 by Ava Ross is Rose and Krek story. Rose has gone to a space station to connect with an alien for a week to get pregnant, but the space station is invaded by alien spiders. They are captured and this is a very action-packed steamy story. Ava Ross creates an adventure with the couple competing in the Labyrinth for their freedom, it is a hard to put down story. All the stories so far in the series starts on the space station with each heroine and Xilan Warrior dealing with their escape. You can read each one as a standalone, but it is more fun to read in order. Another well done story by Ava as they find their HEA!
Another book I totally enjoyed reading. This story is about Rose who after catching her husband cheating signed up in the alien making program and Krek a Xilan whose mating mark appeared when he saw Rose. Then the ship is attacked by the Yuris a spider-like alien, and they escaped together in a pod, only to be captured by them and forced to enter the Labyrinth on the moon Drundar. What occurs is an engaging story I couldn't put down with action, steamy romance, with likable characters who were both struggling with self-worth issues in a well written story that I volunteer to read and review via Booksprout.
I am adoring how this series is weaving in and out of what we have already seen and then adding a new couples experience running from the Yuris.
With this book, Rose and Krek have taken the favorite couple spot. I am loving the heck out of each adventure this series is taking me on. Rose is a quirky firecracker. I loved her voice as she told her side of the story. Both are determined to save the other. That is harder said than done.
I cannot wait for book 4!
In book 2 we saw Rose and Krek's pod diverge and land on a different moon. We now get to experience their adventure.

I love the Fated Mates of the Xilan Warriors series by Ava Ross. Rose and Krek escape the spider-like aliens in a pod, only to be captured when they land and are forced to enter the Labyrinth, where no one has come out alive. Rose and Krek are well written, compelling characters and the book is a page turner from start to finish. Full of action, drama, steam, and more steam, these two will do anything to protect the other. As with the other 2 books in this series, you can read them for free with your Kindle Unlimited subscription. Mine gets a work out.

Rose and Krek are captured by the Yuris before they even have a chance to start his Slaking. Krek's already told Rose that she's his fated mate, but Rose isn't really sure what that means and then they're thrown into the Labrynth by the Yuris and have to rely on each other to survive. It brings them closer together and Rose finds that her feelings are growing for the big lug, if only they can survive their ordeal til help arrives. What a great storyline, love the action and the adventure. Great worldbuilding.

This third book in the Xilan Warrior series is full of danger, bonding, healing, and lots of spice. Rose and Krek escape the Yuris on the space station only to fall into their hands on the nearby moon of Drundar. Rose and Krek were interesting personalities. He carried the burden of survivor’s guilt, and Rose’s heart was guarded after her ex betrayed her. Together they learn to hope and trust again as they battle the Yuris to survive. They face all kinds of new and exciting challenges and creatures, plus we get introduced to a new species, the Areskar. It was a beautiful story that kept me on the edge waiting to see what would happen next! Rose and Krek worked hard to get that HEA!
So much excitement all packed into this one! Rose and Krek go through so many exciting misadventures is this book. They keep falling from one trap to another, but at least they have each other and they pull each other through all of it. So many times I thought they were done for, and those spider aliens are awful and need some Raid. I listened to this on audiobook and got so stuck on the story that I parked in front of my house every day after work for three days so I could finish the chapter I was on my work commute after being late to work for the same reason in the parking lot at work in the morning, but it was worth it.
I am absolutely invested in the Fated Mates of the Xilan Warriors. Each book starts out with action that doesn't let you go until the last page. Alien Hunter's Fate is even more action packed! The story is engrossing. The characters, Rose and Krek, are wonderful. Both are easy to identify with. I adored Krek! He is so sweet and charming. Rose is smart and beautiful with a little self image problem. Together they are perfection. Ava Ross is always 1-click for me. I've never been disappointed with one of her books.
Rose has gone to the alien space station spend a week with a hot alien male and get pregnant. Rose is claimed by Krek an hunter. They no sooner meet than the station is attacted. Now they are in a fight for survival in a labyrinth for the entertainment of the Alien spiders. Can the attraction they feel for each other flurish under these conditions. This is a thrilling read and I look forward to the next book in this series.

It has been so fun reading this series. Those dang spiders capture Krek and Rose and throw them into the labyrinth. Many have been thrown in but none survived. Everyone else was entitled to a weapon. Not our couple. What dangers, traps and horrible creatures will they face? Will Rose ever see her friends again? In the meantime there are plenty of Steamy scenes with tail sex and knotting- OMG. This book catches you from the opening words and doesn't let go.

Steamy Sci-Fi Romance that features fated mates, and plenty of adventure for heroine Rose and her Xilan hero Krek. They have been captured by an alien species of arachnids and forced to compete in a game called Labyrinth for their freedom. Well folks we all know how that’s going to go! Fast paced, well written Alien Hunter’s Fate is an exciting addition to the Xilan Warriors series with its mesmerizing characters and compulsively readable narrative. Fantastic!

An enjoyable story about Rose and Krek. They are next couple who have escaped in a pod when the space station was attacked. This story to me was the best. Lots of action trying to escape a labryinth and everywhere they turned there was danger. I love the fact that Ava writes strong female roles and with the aliens being strong and brave. In between there's steamy romance and an hea. Loved the book. I can't wait for the next in the series!
