TBh this was all over the place and the pacing went from fast, to slow, to fast again. With little to no character development for anyone. I’m still going to read book 2 though.

Oh such an interesting first instalment. Sarakiel is an angel and not a simple one she is one commander with a team under her command but in Heaven not everything sound heavenly and when one of her team is accused of something she wants to go at her rescue even if its against order......but when everything come crashing down, Sara will need help understanding her new universe and she will need strenght of will and to listen to her heart.
angels have fallen...reason is unknown, why strange creature eats them is unknown...world is terrifying and angels must adapt they regroup in faction some succumb to sins now they must resist by their will alone...some fights agaisnt demons like they did before but some fights anegls...who is right, who is "good".....not easy to know.
When Sara must choose her path between lies, death an allies and ennemies....it won't be easy.
I loved Sara right at the beginning, she wants jsutice , she has a big heart and what she suffered is sure unfair...sadly it just get worse for her .She will need courage for sure.
Aithens is a good character, e see too little of him.
I loved learning the different kind of angels and their functions, i wonder what happened to the cherubs for example.
It's definitively a series i plan to continue, lot of action, a touch of romance and so much more . great urban fantasy with angels, fallen angels and demons

Fantastic start!
Its dark, its gritty and perfect to satisfy your fantasy needs! I'm blown away with this story!! The way the author created this world with angels, god, heaven and mortal world, just blew my mind!!! I was hooked from the first chapter till the end! The twists and turns, the characters, some morally gray, some dark and vicious and some recently "fallen" trying to decide which way to go. Meet Sarakiel. She's a new fallen angel, heaven burns and nothing is what it seems. I LOVED IT!!! This is just the beginning and i cannot wait for more!!!

I enjoyed this book but felt like there could of Been more , was not long enough. The build of the main characters could also been more just felt it was lacking something.

If you love books about angels , then this is the book for you.
But this is not your average angel romance, it's dark fantasy. And what a great book it is!
Sarakiel meant well when she tried to rescue a fellow angel condemned to the pit, but ends up herself destined for the pit.
But then something happens and she ends up on earth, heaven on fire, angels fighting against angels and god is dead.
She is rescued by the Tyrant and learns quickly to navigate in her bew surroundings, which seems worse than hell. And her former tormentor also survived the fall.
This book is fantastic and the storyline is absolutely amazing, the characters struggle to adjust in their new surroundings and temptations to sin are at every corner, some resist better than others. Angels have become mortal and fight against each other for dominion.
Sarakiel, being a Lightbringer, took longer to fall to earth and while other angels have been on earth for years, she adjusts quickly, but she is not above temptation and tries hard to fulfil her destiny.
I couldn't put this book down, it's so well written and gripping you page on page and the end, well, what an end. Unfortunately it ends on a cliffhanger, but I cannot wait to read the Sequel!!!!

Seriously fantastic, this is a dark paranormal romance. The world building is gradual and very well implemented, the storyline is exceptionally good, a page turner that is hard to put down. The characters all have unique abilities and personalities, there's so many characters that I loved in this, not all of them particularly good guys as such. But even the potentially bad guys are well written, I do have theories on some of the plot which I can't wait for book 2 to see if I'm right. This series has trigger warnings, which in my opinion don't overstep. They fit with the storyline and are done tastefully, making the intensity of this book hit its mark. The slow burn romance had me grinding my teeth in agonizing anticipation, I think I might have cursed several times at the characters in frustration. This is a must buy in paperback for my physical collection, I'm counting the days down until book 2, this is definitely looking to be an extremely amazing new series.

This is not your average angel story. What if the End of Days looks nothing like we imagine it to be? What if it looked mostly like the world does today? Where cruelty has replaced kindness and petty sins are as common as breathing. That’s the position Sarakiel finds herself in. Once a being of light and purity, now she must figure out how to survive in a world she never saw coming. I loved Sarakiel. She’s smart, feisty, and able to adapt to the situations she finds herself in. Nothing seems to keep her down for long, and what doesn’t kill her only makes her stronger and more determined. I’m sure there’s so much more going on than we’ve been able to see so far, and now I’m desperate to find out what the next layer of the story is.

Good… took a while
Found this on Book Tok. I thought it was great and wrong female MC, but I feel like the love connection wasn’t connected enough for me. Was it lust or was it a “I can’t stand to be away from you, I’ll level the earth for you” thing. Possessiveness I get but still disconnected for me. I think I would have been nice to have more insight from the Tyrant. Also, semi-spoiler the ending… you’re going to let someone who manipulate your thoughts who you know to be devious then jump to conclusions when they care that one of their people is dying. I don’t know. I get it kind of but the love connection was enough for the reaction. My own personal feeling. On to the second.

Are you guys ready for an action filled, heart pounding, adrenaline fueling story?! Because if you are you're going to want to 1-click Sins and Vengeance which is truly what this book is about. Its dark, its heart wrenching, but it. Is. Good! and will keep your attention from the first page to the last.
You'll fall in love with some characters and absolutely dispise others. The world building...it's great, it's seamlessly put together and that made the book feel just that much more "real". And the story itself, oof! it is a wild ride that is going to take your emotions for a spin!

I am always excited when an author I like starts a new series, and this is one such series. I started it, and I was drawn in immediately. This series is a tad bit darker than this author’s usual fare, but it’s still very well written and engaging. The Tyrant and the Lightbringer are such interesting characters, and the author really make you feel for the situations they are finding themselves in. By the end of the book, I was not sure how I felt because Sarakiel should not have…well, I’ll let you discover that for yourself. I wonder what’s going to happen next. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

This is a totally original fallen angel story that really surprised me. I was not expecting to be so taken away by this story. It is dark in places but Sara is also finding her strength and power. There is a malicious Archangel, and no, I never once believed he was acting on God's orders. I think that this is a great story and I am very excited for the next book! I Loved It!!! No Spoilers!

OMG this is off to a fantastic dark start! Sarakiel Is such an awesome character, she’s strong, she’s fierce and boy can she kick ass. The Tyrant Is a fantastic anti hero, tall, dark, handsome and sinful and their chemistry is off the charts. It’s a fast paced, well written fallen Angel story with incredible world building that’s descriptive and realistic, and the storyline is dark, thrilling, gripping and so so addictive that I snapped at anyone who tried to interrupt my reading this. I absolutely loved this and am very eager to continue.

I'm obsessed with this book! If you like reading books about angels then you'll love this!
Plently of action & I liked how different this was compared to other books I've read about Angels.
The author has put a slightly darker spin with the angels as you see that after The burn all the angels are on different sides & corrupted by the sins.
It does end on a cliffhanger but it's still definitely worth a read & it's not long until book 2 is released.

I was torn between 2 and 3 stars Ultimately it’s 2 stars because while I’ll probably read the sequel if it’s on kindle unlimited, I won’t if I have to pay for it.
The concept was interesting but it’s not at all fleshed out and there’s very little world building. Everything is very rushed. There’s also very little character development and I wasn’t really attached to anyone. Honestly *mild spoiler* one of the characters dies and I genuinely felt nothing.
There’s supposed to be a big connection between the two main characters but it wasn’t really doing it for me.

I don’t often like dark romance, it’s not really my thing. However Sins and Vengeance was unexpectedly amazing. This book will alternately have you cheering on Sarakiel in one moment and covering your mouth in stunned silence the next. Sarakiel is a strong FMC, she knows what she wants and goes after it, even when it might lead to trouble. I even cried during it, things happen, it will make your heart bleed and you will hope the next book gives you more of the same. I can’t wait for book 2.

For instance, Sarakiel impulsiveness drove the plot but I did not know enough about her for me to cheer for her even when I thought she was making the wrong decision. Also, the author added one liners that were too cringe for me.

Es una historia normalita, la verdad es que no me ha generado nada, ni siquiera interés. Romance como tal no he visto, aunque probablemente se desarrolle más en el siguiente libro.
No hay mucho más que comentar, es una lectura bastante rápida debido a que no es muy larga, pero acaba en cliffhanger, así que hay tener en cuenta que para finalizar la historia hay que leer el resto de libros, pero por lo que he visto tampoco con muy largos.

Dark and gritty
I love this book, what an amazing start to a series from Katerina Martinez! Dark, gritty, full of action and an awesome romance, I finished it so fast because I could not put it down. The world created is super interesting, and the characters too, I can't wait for the second book!

Another Great Story
This interesting and intriguing story of Angels falling to earth and how they live is a fresh take on the enemies to lovers stories that have come before it. Sara is our heroine and we follow her through her turmoils in Heaven and after her fall. The book flows well and the story has many twists and turns that keep the reader interested.

I picked the book from book tok
Little did I know that what I've read was the ending of book one
I didn't enjoyed it, the MF wasn't appealed to me
The first half was kind of boring, the second half picked up interest but then it was all over
I don't think I will continue the saga...not right now anyways

It has a lot of potential!
Ok so this book was actually really good but the ending was my favorite part. I feel like that’s when it got exciting. I’m hoping going into book 2 that the writing will just get a little bit better. I’m looking forward to this whole storyline with Lucifer. I would recommend it.

The TENSION.
Okay so I am really impressed with the plot of this book. I have SO MANY QUESTIONS. So so good. Tyrant and Sara's relationship is just TENSE. I love it. There's an uneasy understanding between one another, as well as a building desire. Toss in a dark prophecy to really mix things up and bam. You have a book I couldn't put down!

Not your ordinary angels vs demons, good vs evil story. Fallen angels are everywhere, and the line between good and evil appears to be shifting. And then there are Sarakiel and the Tyrant. Steamy!
Loved this book! It's so original and hugely tantalising. I definitely recommend this book, and can't wait for book two to release!

An intriguing new series! I love how this starts out with a bang. Action-packed. I loved the characters…except for Medrian. That dude sucks. I am very curious about the what the Wretched really are. I hope we find out. I have a couple of theories. I can’t wait for the next book to find out more!

I enjoyed this story where it's all about angels and the hypothetical - what if they all fell and became mortal.
This was pretty dark in some places and it really was some great storytelling.
There are many questions left to be answered in future books and I look forward to finding them out.

Interesting concept with fallen angels. I liked it but didn’t love it. I haven’t finished the second book yet. Not cause I didn’t like it but I just grew bored and wanted something that excited me more.

A good read
A really good read and much different to what i normally read. The storyline flowed and was well developed the characters were well liked or not. Cant wait to read the 2nd book. Highly recommended

Superrr slow. Was excited towards end enough that I'll continue but was also super annoyed we only got like 3 chapters in his pov!!! Also his behavior towards her at beginning doesn't make sense when we find out his past.
