Book 3 of this series. It is about British Intelligence and Counterintelligence. Now a decorated Captain in the British Intelligence is asked to go behind enemy lines by way of the Netherlands into Germany again for an almost impossible task. It’s a suicide mission. The deck is stacked against him. There are leaks of intelligence by way of threats against a man’s reputation. Many events prior have been exposed before Michael reaches his next destination. It has suspense and it almost wants me to not continue to read because I am afraid of the outcome. I know there are 2 more books but Michael may be captured and his life tortured. You just don’t know, so you keep reading and discovering until the end.

This is #3 in the series and I am completely invested. The characters are totally believable and I have to keep reminding myself this is a work of fiction. The history I never knew happened in the years leading up to WWII. As horrible as the events of the war were, those months and years leading up to it and the demise of Germany make me realize this war was happening before any declarations were made. I mindset of the warmongers is quite unfathomable to me and yet it all happened. Man’s inhumanity to man is something I just can’t wrap my brain around. It is just so ….what? I don’t think there is a word I could utter that would express my horror and anger! I really need to pray for my fellow man….without ceasing!

The Saga Continues

what a riveting part three. This is what classical spy counterintelligence, intelligence story should be in some fall way short, but not this incredible piece of writing. It struck me as I was reading this on another marathon Reid how young all the characters are. Imagine if this happened today I don’t know, part of me feels it would because there’s something so basic in terms of patriotism, perseverance, and bravery. So I have another day where I stop the Talking Heads and the blundering on social media and go back in time to when people were tested, and their stories are told by incredible authors such as C. J. Jarvis.

In this third installment of “Fernsby’s War,” young Michael Fernsby is once again sent off on a nearly impossible undercover mission to Nazi Germany. This time, Michael finds himself working with several members of the underground, as he attempts to steal secret documents concerning Nazi U-Boats. All in all, this fast paced novel is so realistic…that I nearly cringed in my chair as Michael entered Germany of 1939, where there was a real and ever-present danger of encountering the dreaded Gestapo on nearly any street corner. For fans of WWII historical fiction, this is definitely a series to pick up.

The third in the series and an interesting change in the writing. Lots of micro stories before the main event. So it was not a slow read until that main event. This made it a great novel with lots going on. The main hero is still a super hero and slightly to good to be true. But it's a journey for ones imagination and a great journey be be involved with.

Great series

These books are wonderfully well written, very fast paced and never a dull moment. The character of Micheal is very good and he gets in some very tight places. If you are interested in W W 2 I highly recommend this book.

Another good read

Fernsby continues his battles with the Nazi regime. Of he goes bodies everywhere, but our aplenty tries every trick in the book and a few not. It's a good read but a little too similar to previous novel. Hopefully the next instalment will have more variation.

Wow! Stories inside stories.

This book kept me guessing the outcome. The war calling up a young man who unexpectedly became a spy. Reminded me of a young James Bond.
