A call to create your own magical practice by understanding magical correspondences, incorporating your own lived experiences and ancestry, and applying intuitive insights.
Crafting your own magic is a personal and fluid journey, and you won’t find scripted spells and rituals within these pages. Instead, you’ll find a collection of pathways to a magical practice rooted in your lived experience and the relationships you form in seen and unseen realms. Here, witch, intuitive energy healer, and death-worker Cassie Uhl will share techniques to hone your inherent intuitive abilities, personal experiences, and practices—all of which she encourages you to modify to suit your needs. Your magical practice and the path that shapes it will be as unique as you are, as it should be. Uhl walks you through crafting your own magic using the elements as air, on developing intuition; fire, on magic in relationship; water, on correspondences; earth, on ethics and ancestry; and spirit, on bringing it all together.
What crafting your own magic looks like for you will be personal and fluid. Where would you turn to seek inspiration, community, means, and modes to craft your magic? Perhaps you would shift inward to the trees, flowers, birds, or invisible in-between spaces. There will likely be parts of your magical practice that no one but you will be able to define as true. For these reasons, parts of crafting your own magic may feel uncomfortable. From these places of discomfort, not knowing, and becoming, your magical practices can flourish.

Hold on to your cauldrons, bitches! This author is magical-smoke-show-bestie who will rock your spiritual world with her kick-ass word-smithing on every topic from dismantling your preconceived notions about magic to creating your own ethical practice in the modern world.
In all seriousness, this is a lovely, thoughtfully written book that I know I will return to again and again!
An absolute gem for anyone ready to dive deep into the realms of personal magic! Cassie Uhl’s work here isn’t just another book on spells and rituals—it’s a true invitation to journey within, connecting deeply to your roots, intuition, and the magical essence of the world around you. As a spiritual teacher who values authenticity and self-discovery, I resonate deeply with Uhl's approach. She gently guides you to develop your own unique practice by weaving together ancestral wisdom, magical correspondences, and, most importantly, your own lived experiences.
The way Uhl has organized the book—through the lens of the elements—feels like a grounded and intuitive roadmap for any seeker. Her insight on using 'Air' to deepen intuition, 'Fire' to explore relational magic, 'Water' to master correspondences, 'Earth' for ethical grounding, and 'Spirit' to integrate it all, is simply brilliant. There’s a refreshing honesty here that acknowledges the discomfort that can come with the unknown aspects of magic, encouraging us to embrace it as part of our growth.
This book isn’t a quick list of spells; it’s an empowerment tool that shows you how to create a magical practice that is wholly yours—rooted in who you are, your ancestry, and your relationships with the seen and unseen worlds. For those ready to explore the in-between spaces and find personal meaning in their magical journey, this book is the perfect guide. Thank you, Cassie, for offering such a powerful and transformative path to personal empowerment!
I’ve always been a person who is interested in spirituality but have never found my place in spiritual communities. It never fully resonated with me because I felt conflict with cultural appropriation or even at times felt like neo spiritual practices still seemed to uphold white suprematism. So I went my own way, connecting myself to nature and that became my church and my gardens became my alters. This book was like a breath of fresh air for me. For the first time, maybe ever, I felt supported in my ideologies and guided into creating a spiritual practice that didn’t feel extractive but instead was rooted in my own ancestry and was cultivated in ethics that aligned with my values. I loved how much the book spoke about consent, asking plants and energies/spirit permission to connect and how deal with an entity denying permission. I will be rereading this book in entirety and in passages as I move deeper and connect with a spiritual practice that is rooted within me. Thank you so much for writing this book.

Cassie Uhl’s writing in inviting and she is open and honest about her craft, her history, and how to exist in magical spaces as a white woman. Her voice is calming and constant—like a mentor but also a friend. My practice is all over the place, but I am now using my given power—the power of spoken, written, and sung word—to create a framework in which my own personal practice may grow. Read this book if you are a witch or spiritually inclined and are looking for support on your path.
